I started this diet....last week I think? I did fairly well and lost 6 lbs in around 4 days. It was great and I was ecstatic....then idk, I just totally went off my plan. Even in the beginning I would cheat just a little, but the scale kept going down so not too big of a problem I thought. But then my water intake dropped and so I gained back like 3 of 6lbs. SOoooo, I'm starting over, and this time NO cheating!!! I kinda think I will do better with a having just a few options meal wise to choose from (I can eat the same thing day after day no problem) so I stocked up on salad, yogurt, tuna, and apples and some veggies. So...heres hoping for a really successful first 17 days!
smgleason- You're doing good. Just get back on it and considered it a lesson learned. I'm still learning and I'm on C3. Good luck you can do it... Just take it a day at a time.
Hi toni
I just finished cycle 1. This is my 3rd time cycle 1. Dd came with her boys cheated lots of time. Did not exercise enf and water intake was less.
Hmm.. Going nto india next week for a month trip. God help me being on my schedue. I am somewhere 162.
Good Sunday afternoon. I've had a horrible eating week end. And drank plenty of wine too. Don't know what its going to do Wed. on the scale. I'm really having a fight in cycle 3. LOL...
puneri- Just jump right back on eating right. Its all part of us learning how to eat. I envy you your trip to India. I would love to try the foods there and see the country. Hope your time is good there. Will you get to check in here? I would love to hear from your trip. Anyway stay safe and have a good time.
I did buy the book after seeing the author on a talk show, and it looks great. As previous posters say, it's a cycle in 17-day segments. What I like about it is that the first cycle concentrates on RAPID weight loss so you get excited, then going to slower/maintenance modes, then back. I thought the menus made a lot of sense, and I tried some of the recipes too. They were pretty good.
Indeed there's a recipe for a power cookie in the book. I don't like cookies at all, so I didn't check it out, but I think it's sort of a takeoff on the Beverly Hills Cookie Diet, which seems unproductive. The other thing I'd eliminate is his emphasis on a probiotic like Yakult -- which is mostly sugar. The jury's still out, but there's a lot of discussion about whether probiotics are at all necessary or if it's a marketing thing. Frankly I'd just get some acidophilous at the health food store and mix it in with food if that's what you'd like. If you buy the book it comes with a 17-minute workout DVD, which I haven't tried yet. But overall, I think's it's a good, healthy plan that gives you a lot of flexibility and should show results if it's adhered to.
I found the 17 day diet book at a thrift store for $1! I feel better about having a hard copy to look at whenever instead of just a PDF file. I'm definitely going to give this a whirl!
I actually went ahead and ordered this book today. I should be getting it in the next two weeks. These past weeks, I've been debating on what to do to lose this weight. I've read GREAT reviews on this diet. Can't wait to see what I'm missing out on. Good job on the weight loss guys!
I only paid $.39 for the book plus shipping so even if I don't follow it, it isn't a big loss hehe!

That is a good bargain. I have been looking through various used bookstores for a copy of the book but no luck as yet. I want a hard copy too in case my computer crashes and I lose my PDF file.
