I made coleslaw with light mayo. So whats a serving size of slaw. My meatloaf is good, next time I'll make it with ground turkey.
Crystle- Now Steve would prefer potatoes too. And he asked where the bacon grease in the green is. I used chicken broth and mushrooms instead. Things are sure changeing. |
Hello again
I think I would serve about a cup of slaw if I wanted to cut Robert's serving of meat. With other veggies I would think 1/2 a cup. We ended up having the mashed potatoes and they were instant to boot...shaking my head in shame over here. They were so good. On a good note I used whole wheat and ground flax seed in the meatloaf and it did very well. Will use a healthier meat next time and it might actually be good for us. :)
Robert really liked the carrots and beet. Next time I'll know to cook more. I kinda used them liked decorations...two tiny carrots and one beet per plate. Too much food tv...LOL Love and hugs, Crystle |
Good morning! I got back from my second sleep study about an hour ago. It took me hours and hours to fall asleep with the cpap machine on, but eventually, I got used to it. I slept only two hours before I woke up again. I think I would have slept longer, but the room was cold and all those wires on me were just plain uncomfortable.
So before I head to bed for a bit of a nap, I weighed myself for WWW. I am down two pounds! I will be back later! |
Hi ladies,
You might as well take a whip to me today and help me beat myself up. The scale was up 8 lbs this morning. Unbelievable. My oncologist called and said my potassium was too low. She wants me to cut back on the diuretics, but I tried to explain to her that I balloon up when I don't take 3 a day. Guess I will start eating more bananas. Plus she kept telling me I needed a family doc. Well I had one, but she moved too far away and I haven't found another. I really don't need one I have so many specialists I have no reason for another dr. So I am frustrated over that and life in general and all this snow. I guess it is time to end the pity party. I am going to talk to my DH about getting a treadmill. That way I won't have an excuse when I don't make it to the gym. Toni, thanks for the birthday wishes. Hope you enjoy your day out and your date. I would say 1/2 cup o slaw is a serving. Crystle, I bet those pecans were wonderful in the bread. I love Dr. Oz, just don't get to see his show. I need to tape it. Thanks for the good wishes. Ellen, I saw a commercial for sleep apenea without the mask. Go to nomask.com and check it out. Congrats on the 2lb loss. You are doing wonderful. I need to get busy. I will try to check back later. |
Morning ladies:
Ellen- Congrats on your loss. Great job. Crsytle- I wish I had a garden I could pick some vegetables from. My back yard still has 6 inches of snow in it. LOL Solly- I'm sure the wright is just water weight. Don't be so hard on yourself it won't change anything. You just have to keep going. Well ladies I stayed the same. I expected it. My husband took me out to dinner Friday, and Sunday plus I ate out Saturday at the baby shower. Even though I did not eat badly that is just to much eating out for me. Oh well I will do better next week. I am still walking on my treadmill at least 4 days a week. This week I plan to go to 5 days a week and try to stay consistent with 5 days. I also have on a top I couldn't fit before so something is working. have a great day all. I will try to get back later. |
Good Morning
Not a good day to weigh in but oh well, I know I didn't eat 4 pounds of extra calories this week. I have some other issues going on. I'll see if they stick around before I change my ticker.
Solly...hang in there. Another good source of potassium is coconut water. No fat, no sugar and higher than banans for potassium. I can't tell you if it is any good yet I'm waiting on an order to come in. I'm hoping it will help my hubby with his blood pressure. I pray you find just the right doctor that you can click with and will meet your needs. ((hugzz)) Ellen...I'm glad you were able to try the cpac. I hope they gave you the less invasive one. Dr Oz did a show about a week or two ago and showed both models. Congratulations on the two pounds!!! Wishing everyone good numbers on the scales. Love and hugs, Crystle |
Mercee
We were posting at the same time. :) WTG not gaining with all that eating out. You'll see a good loss next week.
Love and hugs, Crystle |
I took a bit of a nap in the recliner. I can sleep sitting up, but when I lay down, every time I start to fall asleep and have an apnea event, I freak out and wake up. Thankfully, I was able to get an appointment with the sleep specialist next Wednesday. They can't order my machine until then.
SOLLY: I went and looked at the web site. The tech guy told me about that model. If I had trouble with the partial mask he put on me, he was going to try that, and the full mask. The one they used only covered my nose, and you have to keep your mouth closed when you sleep. I do, so it worked ok for me. The masks and that appliance are SO expensive, but I guess you try the different ones until you find what you are most comfortable with. Right now, I don't care. I just don't want to die in my sleep- and I am that severe! :( I am sorry there is not universal success on the scale this week. Keep jugging along! The trick is to hop right back on plan and don't let the cheats and failings derail you. :grouphug:  |
Slow day, eh? :) I was able to nap some in the recliner...
Hubby just got in so off I go! |
Just a fly by. Had a big full day and I'm exhausted. We bought a new washer and dryer today. It won't be delivered till the 26 but I'm so excited. The bad thing is I stayed the same this week. I was so disappointed. I hope next week I'll see some kind of loss. I'll walk on the treadmill for sure. I just don't get any exercise. And its hurting with my weight loss.
Congradulations Ellen on the beautiful weight loss!!:carrot::carrot: I hope you get the right Cpap machine. That has to be a nightmare. Solly- So sorry you're having such troubles. I know how it is when you have lots of health issues. you'll lose that water weight. Crystle- Heres hopeing for a better week next week. Mercee- Hop back on the wagon..... Got to get off here. Have a good night all. |
Good morning. I have a funeral to go to in a few but thought I would pop on here first. It's the other of my pain doctor who gives me al the epidurals. We are good friends also.
One small victory. I started to stop at McDonald's last night since it was Ash wed and no meat allowed and we had to get to the funeral home. Instead I went home and quickly fixed grilled cheese sandwichs and tomato soup. It was very good. One the other side, our fish fry's start tomorrow and we work carry out. That fried fish is wonderful (loaded with special seasoning and I am sure too much salt). It is going to be tough. I didn't weigh to see if any of the wt was gone. I will wait until next WIW. Ellen, my SIL told me last night he has sleep apenea and is going for the study. The dr also told him he has to lose 70 lbs in a year and the cpac machine is only for 1-2 years and then they would do surgery in his nose. I have another friend who is also large and he has been wearing one for several years. I hope you find one that works for you. Mercee, eating out is so hard, but I hate to cook. You will see a loss next week. If you can wear a new top, I think that is a good sign more so than the scale. Toni, at leastyou didn't gain any. Yes walking o the :tread: will help. Listen to me, I haven't been to the gym all week. I guess it is one of those "do as I say, not as I do". Hope next week is better for you. You have been eating so good. Crystle, I guess we both have hormone issues, but thought mine were all gone. Here's to seeing a better week next week. Guess I had better go eat my berries and yogurt before I leave. I'll try to poke my head in again later. Have a great day. |
Morning ladies:
A quick stop in to say hello. Ellen- Glad to see that you got a nap. I have a relative who has sleep apnea and he sleep in a recliner all the time. I hope they find what is best for you. Toni- I sure hope we both have a loss next week. Let's just keep going. I can remember the time I would get discouraged and just give up. At least now I just keep going. At least neither of us gained anything. Solly- I hope you are able to resist the fish fry. Good job going home and making your own meal. I cook everyday almost. I think that's why eating out all last weekend did me in. Hi Crystle I hope all is well with you. Well ladies I have to go. Have a nice day everyone. |
Good morning
Howdy ya'll. I didn't feel so well yesterday so I ate comfort foods..soup and saltines. But back on the wagon today. This morning was a bit of scrambled egg loaded with asparagus, broccoli and flax seed.
Solly...I'm so sorry for your loss. Hope you are able to enjoy the fish fry and find a way to work in a bit if you want some. Ellen...hope with the restorative sleep you will be getting it will help your weight loss and your energy level. ((hugzz)) Mercee...it is a great day so far. The sun is shining and it's already 55. Toni...congratulations on the new washer and dryer. ((Everybody)) God bless, Crystle |
Yesterday I didn't eat well at all. I was so discouraged with not losing weight I kind of blew it. But back on today. Had my oatmeal for breakfast and chicken breast thawing out for dinner. Also got on the treadmill today. Yippee.
Solly- So sorry about the funeral. Hope you enjoy the fish fry. Wow you did good passing up McD's. Mercee- We can do this. My main thing is no exercise. Crystle- OOOO boy breakfast sounds good and so healthy. I got a few veggies yesterday while shopping. Its good to have some fresh ones back in the house. Good luck on eating today. |
Good afternoon
Just taking a break from chores and thought I'd say howdy to some of my very favorite awesome wonderful lady friends. ((Everybody)) Sometimes the cold weather, daily struggles and lack of time can be a little bit of a downer. Just remember...the weather will get warmer...things do get better and we need to TAKE time for ourselves.
Don't be too shocked but I"m actually being productive today. Yes, even stopping to post I've changed the bed linen..cleaned the bathroom..sweep and semi mopped the kitchen...took a stroll with my 12 year old....started a load of clothes and a few other piddly things. :) The sun is out and it is about 61 right now. I'm hoping to sneak in a walk when my chores are done if I don't make an excuse. That is one of the major difference this time around. There was no way I'd miss a day when I used to walk..cold, rain, heat it didn't matter. Now I can think of a hundred valid reason not to go. Okay maybe not valid but reasons. :) Tonight Jess is gonna cook some chicken leg quarters on the grill. I'm thinking maybe a salad and some other veggie. Not too sure about a starch or not. Probably a little brown rice. A meal just doesn't feel complete if I don't offer them some sort of grain. Daily email tip: Make Friends With Your Server In a restaurant, there's probably nobody more familiar with the menu than the waitstaff, with the exception of the kitchen staff. If you're unsure what to order, get a recommendation from your server. Explain that you're trying to eat healthy and ask what they'd suggest. In addition to advocating a healthy offering off the menu, they might know of popular meals that aren't found on the menu. Many restaurants are flexible when it comes to meeting the needs of their patrons. This is a great tip. We went to an Italian restaurant the other day and they had nothing healthy on the menu. I asked the waitress if they would serve the grilled veggies listed on one of the dishes and she told me they actually had a tilapia and veggie dish not listed. It really helps to ask. Better get back to the chores before I lose my motivation. I have a couple of loads to hang still. God bless, Crystle |
