Just burned 265 calories with Leslie Sansone for the 2-mile walk. I like her so much better than Jillian Michaels. She's so much nicer and I just sweat more than I have doing an exercise video ever. It was awesome. And I didn't feel like my eyes were goign to pop out of my head. LOL

Toni: Go girl!! :treadmill:

Ellen: I like the eating parameter. Good guidelines!

Off to thaw out some chicken for dinner to go with my salad.

Mercee 01-25-2010 07:49 PM

Hi Ladies: I had a great week end. This board has been buzzing. However I don't have time to read post right now. I will read them Later. I am getting ready to go out to dinner with my hubby and I'll will stay OP. I just wanted to check in. Today is my birthday and this weekend I will go out with my family to celebrate. Tonight is me and my DH special date, we always do this for each others birthday. Have a great evening all.

Toni48 01-25-2010 08:12 PM

Dinner was good. And DH even did the dishes. So now for a relaxing evening if my little boston terrier, Jackson would just behave.

Kris- Hope your chicken turned out good. That was great you liked your exercise video.

Mercee-:balloons: Happy Birthday. Hope you have a wonderful dinner with your DH.

Ellen- Wish I had somewhere to go. I live in a town of 600 people. We don't have a thing around here to exercise with others. Guess the treadmill will have to do. Bet you make your Granddaughter a darling cake. Sounds like you're doing allot of cooking.

Crystle- Yum your breakfast sounds good. Wish we had your weather, its freezeing here and we're expecting snow the end of the week.

Have a nice evening all.

Ellen 01-25-2010 10:29 PM

:balloons: Happy Birthday, Mercee! :balloons:

Ellen 01-25-2010 10:35 PM

Dinner was good tonight, but I was not! :o I made some muffins to take to the new parents, but I left some here for our dinner. We had a new small group for church starting tonight so I wanted something fast and easy for dinner. I ate three of the gluten free corn muffins I made. oink! I had some cut strawberries at the meeting. Other than that, it was not too bad a day!

MERCEE: Where are you outside Chicago? I grew up in Oak Park and still have family there. Next time I am up there to visit, if you are anywhere near there, we should meet for lunch. I always get together with a couple of the mods on here that live up there too... I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

TONI: :bravo::cp::cp::cp::cb::carrot::broc::cheer::cheer 3::cheer3::cheer2::cheer2: Way to go on getting on the treadmill! I bet you feel pretty good right now! You should...

techwife 01-25-2010 10:57 PM

Well, according to my calculations, I had 1245 calories today. i didn't leave anythign out. i had lots of water. I exercised with Leslie for half an hour. Today is done...I think i did well. Tomorrow i will try to do the same.

Good night!

techwife 01-26-2010 08:50 AM

Well, this morning was almost a duplicate of yesterday morning, except I had half a banana instead of the whole thing. They're giant bananas. This gives me 470 calories for the morning.

I peeked at the scale this morning and it said I was down to 191. i won't make it official, though, until tomorrow's WIW.

Okay...see you guys in a little bit!!

Solly 01-26-2010 09:34 AM

Hi ladies, Still not feeling great. I think I may have a sinus infection. I am a little dizzy and my face hurts a little. Plus I blow my nose like its a gallon tank.
The chicken tenders were good, I made them with Total cereal rather than corn flakes thinking that would be better for me. I dipped them in egg beaters rather than a real egg. You mix hone or agave and mustard in witht the egg and dip the chicken and then roll i n the orn flakes. Bake at 450 until done. If I make them again, I will try the corn flakes. Made some chicken salad with lots of celery and onions and lowfat mayo with the leftover chicken.

I did work out for 30 minutes in the basement. We have a big exercise machine and a bench and weights and big balls. So I got a decent workout in. Then I hit the couch.

We got a dusting of snow today, but the roads are a sheet of ice. It took me 45 minutes to get to work and one girl has been on the road for 2 hours and turned around and went home. Crazy. I think the traveled roads have melted and froze again.

Tech, You are doing sorta of what I do. I try to stay around 1300 calories and incorporate the sugar buster principles. Salads can add up in calories too. are you using a calories coutner on line? I use Spark People, it is great. I think I would have to forbid Shelley from making cookies. I hope they are all gone. I eat the Fiber One bars. They have 120 calories but have antioxidents, etc.

Toni, good job not eating. I knew you could do it. Have a nice visit with your sister. :cheer: WTG gettin ont he :tread: Keep it up.

Crystle, I love eatloaf. I need to make one. I was trying so hard to avoid the scale until tomorrow, but I caved this morning and I was up 1 pound Hope it disappears and takes a friend with it by tomorrow.

Ellen, my GS is 6 months old. He is at such a cute age. Only you can make your food restrictions work. If it were me, I would be eating carrots and starving all the time. I know your cake will be adorable and delish.

Mercee, Happy Birthday :balloons: Hope you had a great date.

Ok better go log my food and get some work done. Have a great OP day

CountryMom4Him 01-26-2010 10:17 AM

Good Morning

I'm not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow. This is one of those weeks where accountability doesn't seem so fun. :) This weekend was not a great eating weekend. It wasn't horrible but it had its moments.

I like today's email tip but could never follow it..LOL List or no list I will deviate.

Smart Grocery Shopping Steps
Create a shopping list. This is your blueprint for getting through the grocery store without the extra garbage. Those Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies aren't on your list -- so they shouldn't be in your cart. Shop off your list and leave all the other incidentals out. Plan out your meals for the week and purchase only what you need. When you're armed with specifics, you'll be less likely to buy unhealthy foods on impulse. Before you even enter the store, make a pact with yourself that you'll only buy the foods you intended.

Toni...it's going to be cold here by the end of the week. I"m soaking up the warmth while I can. :) Awesome that you got on the treadmill. :carrot: I haven't found one yet.

Solly...I bet you'll get a nice surprise tomorrow. That pound will leave along with a couple of friends. Your eating sounds like it has been really good.

NurseDee...I hope you absence doesn't mean you are still feeling poorly. ((hugzz)) Looking forward to your return.

Ellen...You must have been craving something if you ate three muffins, or they were really good. :) I would opt for really good and I would have been hard pressed to eat just one.

Mercee...Happy Belated Birthday!!! I hope you had a fantastic day.

Tech...wish some of your drive would rub off on me. You are doing GREAT.

Scrappinhut....where are you? Hope all is okay.

God bless,
Crystle

Mercee 01-26-2010 10:41 AM

Morning ladies:

I had a wonderful day yesterday. My hubby and I had a great date. Thanks so much for the birthday wishes from all of you.

Toni-- Great wok on you treadmill. I wouldn't trade mine in for the world.

Ellen- I am familiar with Oak Park. We live further south but I would love for us to get together. We were just in Oak Park at Christmas visiting one of my husband"s relatives. I have a friend who has celiac disease and she's been on the gluten free diet for 4 years and she is doing great. I'm sure you will do well.

Tech -- I hope you have a great WIW tomorrow.

Solly- I hate sinus infections I hope you feel better soon. Our weather here is like yours we got 1 inch of snow and the cold so the roads here are slippery as heck. I'm ready for winter to be gone.

Crystle- Your shopping list tip is great however I could never just follow a list. LOL

Well ladies I am out of here. I hope we all are losers on tomorrow. Have a great day everyone.

Nursdee and scrappinhut- I hope all is well with you.

techwife 01-26-2010 01:02 PM

Lunch:

2 scrambed eggs with mushrooms and green peppers, a medium apple and some raw baby carrots. And a big glass of water.

I walked two miles with my new friend, Leslie (sansone) and sweat like a pig.

Off to take a shower. I have to add up my numbers for my shop from last year so we can do our taxes.

TTFN!!

Ellen 01-26-2010 10:24 PM

Evening everyone! I went to the farmer's market today with my friend who is a celiac. Her son has Crohns, so the whole family eats gluten free. We had a nice time. I got some fish, and some essentials. Tonight for dinner I made monkfish on lentils. It was good, but I don't know if I agree that monkfish is poor man's lobster. After I bought it I read that it is on the avoid list from Monterrey Bay Aquarium because of the way it is caught..it disrupts the sea floor and catches turtles and other sea mammals causes death and over fishing. Sheesh. Its hard to do the right thing all the time.

At the market I bought some cottage cheese. Its gluten free (many are not..modified food starch is wheat and has gluten in it! :yikes: ) and I am hoping it will be a nice addition to breakfast.

Tomorrow is my silk painting guild meeting. I am planning on water aerobics before that.

I am late getting on here, and don't have time for replies. I will try and do that in the afternoon tomorrow after the silk ladies leave.

Toni48 01-26-2010 10:57 PM

Hi I am late getting on here too. We've been gone out of town to see my sister and got back this evening. I'm tired. I hope we all do good with our weigh in. Have a good night.

Solly 01-27-2010 09:13 AM

Happy WIW

I hope the scale is good to everyone. For me, I stayed the same. I will take, Exercise has been minimal this week.

Toni, how was your visit with yoru sister? How does she look?

Ellen, you are amazing. With all your restrictions, you find ways to make it work. Have fun with your silk painting.

Tech, I always liked Leslie. I could probably do that with my foot. No high impact.

Mercee, glad you had a great date night. I hate winter too. It is supposed to be icy again tomorrow and lots of snow on Friday. Ugh! I have 2 doctor appts I don't want to miss.

Crystle, I bet you will be ok for WIW. Hang in there, let it be your motivation. Your tip is good but almost impossible. Everytime I try it (when money is tight) I always come out with lots more.

I will be on here late tomorrow as I have to get a shot before I come in. I will try to get back later to see how everyone has done. I'm sure great.
It will be one month soon. That is a big date we should be seeing some differences in clothes etc. We can do this.

Ellen 01-27-2010 09:41 AM

I went to the pool this morning for water aerobics, and it was closed due to 'contamination'. I don't think I want to know....

So I came home and had some cottage cheese and Polaner all fruit for breakfast, with a nice Minneola orange I got at the market yesterday. I am sipping my espresso as I type. I did not even think about it being weigh in Wednesday. I will weigh in tomorrow...if I remember...

TONI: I hope you had a good visit with your sister. I was kind of wondering where you were, but I remembered you said something about visiting your sister, so I was not worried. :)

SOLLY: Staying the same sometimes is a big victory... Ew...I hate shots! Are you feeling better?

Silk ladies should be here soon, so I am getting off here and trying to prepare some. I don't want to...I want to go back to bed! ;)
