Hi Ladies:

I had a crazy morning so I couldn't post earlier. Glad to see everyone is doing well .

Solly- Have a great time at the party. I hope your daughter is surprised.

Ellen- Congrats on your loss. I hope those pounds stay away for Wednesday.

Nursedee- I have had the Tai Pei meals. They are great. I love the garlic chicken and the general Tso's chicken. I love that the sugar content is low and they taste great and they are low-fat. I like to eat mine right out the container without rice. I am so happy you a recovered.

Crystle - Have a great trip to the store.

Toni- Get on that treadmill girl. :woops: LOL

I'm getting ready to walk on my treadmill so I gotta go. I will try to get back tomorrow and post . Have a great evening everyone..

Toni48 02-05-2010 08:04 PM

Eating was good today. I made chicken breast, roasted aspargas, cottage cheese and butterscotch pudding. I also got on treadmill and walked. I couldn't do much but at least I got on it.

Mercee- Have a good walk.

Ellen- You go girl!!!! :carrot: 3 lbs is wonderful. You're doing so good. Keep up the good work.

Have a great evening.

Ellen 02-05-2010 10:33 PM

The grandson is here this evening. I had gone to help out a friend who runs a kids clothing consignment sale..and they had some great deals on toys. I found him a couple Thomas the Tank Engine toys and he is in train heaven! He and Poppa are down stairs putting together the train tracks, while he pushes the big Thomas case around. (it is in the shape of the Thomas tank engine, but made to hold the little train pieces...cute!)

I ended up having a VERY lazy day. My car would not start when I went to go out to the store, so I was stuck at home all day. Nice and relaxing.

I hope everyone has a super weekend!

Toni48 02-06-2010 11:55 AM

Its a cold and dreary day here. Just finished a breakfast of two boiled eggs and a toasted english ww muffin with jelly on it and a glass of OJ. Not sure what I'll do today. Will check in later.

CountryMom4Him 02-06-2010 12:24 PM

Good morning

I just finished some greek style yogurt with agave and half a banana in it. delicious. We were gone running the roads most of yesterday. No real bargains to speak. This morning we heard a loud noise at the side of the house and jumped out of bed to see why the dogs were going nutso. :) Well, Miss Star had escaped from her pen. I wasn't sure if we were gonna have to chase her of if she would follow. The second I started hollering pig pig she came leaping across the garden. I asked Robert if she was gonna attack..LOL She followed me just like a puppy. She kept bumping into me and going in circles around my legs. We got her safely back in her pen. She is so precious I try hard not to spend too much time around her since she is destined to be dinner.

Speaking of dinner. Tonight I am making mole. I'm cheating and using a jar but can't wait. My daughter's mother in law makes it and it is so delicious. A little high on the sugar about 6 grams but I'll watch all my other numbers today and it will be fine.

I like today's email tip since I am a weigh in junkie. :)

Make A Weigh-In A Day
Many experts believe that weighing yourself on a daily basis is a bad idea. They claim that your weight fluctuates and watching the number on the scale yo yo can be discouraging. However, one study begs to differ. Research conducted by the University of Minnesota showed that individuals who weighed in on a daily basis lost 12 pounds over two years while those who checked the scale on a weekly basis dropped just six pounds. In addition, the dieters who weighed in daily were also less likely to regain the weight.

Toni...awesome getting on the treadmill. I NEED to get my booty moving. It would make such a huge difference.

Ellen...How precious to get to spend time with your grandson. The love and joy they give us is immersible.

Mercee...hope you are having a less crazy day today.

NurseDee...hope you are getting stronger every day.

Bob...where did ya go?

Tech...hope you are having a nice weekend.

Beth, Solly, Scappinhut...((hugzz))

Need to finish doing some research on different foods. Hope each of you has a fantastic OP weekend.

God bless,
Crystle

Toni48 02-06-2010 05:40 PM

Eating has been good today. We're going to make pizza tonight on WW crust. I got a walk in on the treadmill today. Hope you're all doing fine.

Crystle- Your mole sounds good. Guess I've never had any. Really I think 6 grams isn't bad on the sugar. Thats funny about your pig getting loose.

CountryMom4Him 02-07-2010 12:16 PM

Good Morning

The mole came out pretty good. Not as good as Hortencia's but palatable. :)
I hope ya'll are having a wonderful Sunday.

Toni...mole has chocolate, cinnamon, garlic and other spices in it. I hope to make one homemade one day. The jar kind you just mix with broth or water. I also added a little more garlic, cocoa and bread crumbs per my daughter's instructions..LOL She loves it and watches her mother in law make it, both from the jar and homemade. Wish I were closer. I have been craving WW pizza and am too lazy to make it. They used to have it in the store and now I can't find it anywhere. err :)

((Everybody))

God bless,
Crystle

My brother-in-law is married to a Mexican woman (or was...it depends on the week with them - LOL) and he was raving about mole, so he sent out two boxes of it. He gave Derek step-by-step directions over the phone and it was absolutely disgusting. Derek acted like he'd been slapped across the face when he tasted it. Obviously, we did something wrong. We gave the other box to the food pantry. LOL

Solly 02-07-2010 05:45 PM

Hi ladies
It's Sunday and I'm on here. Yeah!
Not doing much today. The party was a atotal surpise. I was so glad. We had about 17 people. Small but fun. I was disappointed a couple people did not show up but she had a good time. The baby fell asleep so he stayed all night which was fine by me. So we played all morning and after he went home I finsihed cleaning up. Haven't done much else today. Washed a batch of blueberries, blackberries and strawberries to put over Green yogurt all week. Yum. Just waiting for hte super bowl to start.

Toni, I am so proud of you getting on the :tread: You go girl. The more yo do it the longer you will be able to go. Your eating sounds so goud also.

Ellen, sounds like your GS loves his trains. How sweet. Hope your sleeping improves. I missed taking my Lyrica Friday night so I took a sleeping pill and just like last weekend, I was wide awake at 4:00am and could not go back to sleep.

Crystle, I laughed about your pig. It would be hard to make dinner out of a pig I got close to.

Mercee, I see you are faithful to your :tread: Good job

Did anyone see Oprah I think it was Thursday. The show was with Dr Oz on diabetes. I haven't seen the whole thing yet but so far it is so good. Sugar Busters all the way.

I am stil have problems with the nausea. Yesterday was really bad. I kept breaking out in a sweat and had to lay down a couple times. I had lots to do so I had to push on but I was miserable. This morning I was better, still a little bit but nothing like yesterday. I am feeling better now. Not sure was this is. It has been almost 4 weeks now and there has only been about 3-4 days I have not had it. Maybe my gallbladder?????

Better run. Talk to you guys tomorrow. Enjoy the game. Go Colts but I like the Saints too!

Toni48 02-07-2010 09:25 PM

Darn had to much pizza and wine Sat. night and hot wings that weren't legal today. Glad Monday is another day.

Solly- Hope that nausea gets better. That has to be miserable when you don't know whats causeing it. Hope you get a good rest tonight.

Crystle- The mole sounds good. I'd like to try it.

Tech- Hope you're having a good Sunday.

Hi to the rest of you. Off to watch the rest of the game.

Ellen 02-07-2010 11:38 PM

Mmmm...mole! Crystle, I have a mole recipe that is really good, and really easy! It only looks daunting because it has so many ingredients Want it? We LOVE it with tamales. It freezes really well too. You could make a big batch and freeze some for later. Its no where near as expensive to make it from scratch as it is to buy it. Kris, you must have done something wrong! Mole is SO good!

We spent Saturday night at one daughter's playing with our grandson and tonight at our other daughter's playing with our granddaughter. What a great weekend! :) Now I am ready for the week to start so I can get some rest.

Tomorrow morning is water aerobics, so I am off to bed in hopes of getting a decent night of sleep.

techwife 02-08-2010 09:31 AM

Ugh...I ate like a complete and total pig yesterday. Chips, wings, the whole shebang. Now I feel like I have bricks in my gut. Which is why its not good to eat like this. Weight aside, I FEEL like crapola!

So, today , scootch over, I'm back on the wagon. I feel like I need to drink vinegar to clean myself out like I do my coffee pot. Bleh.

CountryMom4Him 02-08-2010 10:17 AM

Good Morning

I am so weak. :) Every year at Super Bowl we have McDonald's chicken nuggets. It's the one time a year my hubby can eat his fill of them. The goal was to not have any, goal not met. The good news is that calorie count for the day was under 1500 calories. The bad news is that I went to bed hungry because junk food just doesn't hold the same way as healthier foods and I refused to blow the whole day. My mistake was taking the first bite. If I could just remember that in the future.

Email Tip:
Downsize Your Plate and Your Waist
Use smaller plates. When you're trying to get a handle on portion sizes, your dinner can drown on those 10'' plates. Suddenly, those healthy helpings can look smaller than ever. Trick your brain by enjoying servings on a smaller platter. Not only will you feel like you're getting more, you'll quickly get accustomed to proper portion sizes. It will be difficult to "overdo" it when there's no room on your plate. Just remember going back for seconds defeats the purpose.

We use the smaller plates and even though we may go back for seconds from time to time we were going back for seconds with the larger plates so I think it still helps. And it really does trick the eye.

Tech...I take apple cider vinegar with a teaspoon of honey everyday. It is SO good for you. We get the vinegar from the health food store. It has the "mother" in it. That is what makes it so healthy. If you warm the water it taste a bit like hot apple cider. :) Drink plenty of water to flush out all the yuck from yesterday. You'll feel better in no time.

Ellen...I would love the recipe. I didn't find the store kind expensive but would love to have more control over the ingredients. We are trying so hard to use less and less processed foods. My mom shocked me. I took her some and she actually liked it. :) It was the first mole she liked. She even liked the brown rice.

Toni...still drooling over the pizza. :dizzy: Today's is a new day so jump right back on the wagon. I'm right there with ya. ((hugzz))

Solly...awesome on the party being a surprise. :carrot::carrot: Sorry that you are still feeling poorly. I hope today is a new day and you feel tons better.

NurseDee, Bob, Scrappinhut, Mercee...((hugzz))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Morniing ladies>

I had a busy but good weekend. I stayed Op . I guess from that you can tell I am not a football fan. When it's on that's my time to myself. I have my husband and sons out of my hair until it is over. Yippee for me.

Solly- I am glad your party went well. I saw the special on Oprah about diabetes. That's why I am so dedicated to walking on my treadmill. It not because I am so disciplined, I don't want any complications. I have been blessed so far and I thank God.

Crystle0 I was wondering what in the world was mole. Glad so many of you enjoy it. Is it like pudding? That was funny about the pig getting loose.

Toni- great job getting that treadmill. Now keep at it.

Ellen- I hope you got a good night's sleep and enjoyed your water aerobics class.

Tech- Welcome back to the wagon. LOL

Hi to everyone I missed.

Have a great day everyone. I will check in later.

Solly 02-08-2010 11:53 AM

Boy, the wagon is going to be dragging the ground by the time we all pile in. Weeknd eating was a total disaster. Enough said.

Back on track today, and going to the gym tonight on my way home.
With all the stomach problems, I feel like if I ate something I will feel better, but when it doesn't happen, I try something else. At first I thought I was not eating enough and that was causing it, but it wasn't. Food in general just does not appeal to me, especially meat. I felt slightly sick this morning, but it has gone away. Hope it stays away for good.

Ellen, I can't think of a better way of spending the weekend. I just love when mine spends the night and I look into the crib the next morning and he smiles up at me. Just melts my heart.

Toni, I'm right there with you on the wine, etc...... Why don't we learn.

Crystle, McDonald's chicken nuggests wouldn't do it for me, but there are many other things that would. Vrush ourselves off and forge ahead. I like your tip. We also use smaller plates. I think another ting to add to that is to measure your portions.

Mercee, I haven't finished the Oprah show yet but just what I saw was enough. I really like the fact that your waist is supposed to be half of your height. I'm not there for sure. You are smart to keep moving. The stuff about how it effects the heart was scarry too. I can't wait to finish it, but I want my family to watch it too.

Tech, scooting over to make room for you. Jump on in.

Just finished my Greek yogurt and berries. It was so good. Better go log my food, and I want to start keeping a note on my food diary on when I am nausus so I can see if something I am eating is triggering it. Have a great day
