Walking in shame.... I gained 2 lbs. WAAAAA!
|
Toni-- It is probably water weight. I'm sure you didn't eat 7,000 extra calories. We will do better next week, Keep going.

Good morning
Howdy ya'll. I'm sitting here doing a no-no, eating and typing. Breakfast is butternut squash with onions, pepper, celery a bit of bacon and spices. Don't think I'm gonna finish. I'm getting full. Didn't weigh in but from what I can tell over the last few days I"m about the same. Still up two for the year.
We had the best dinner last night. It was made with buffalo, onions, celery, bell peppers, artichoke hearts and a pound of spinach. All of that in a tomato based sauce served with whole wheat twisted noodles. Very filling and felt very healthy. Speaking of healthy I ordered some whole wheat orzo and couscous from Amazon yesterday. It is so much easier than trying to find them here in ruralville. :) Also got my agave. We have pretty much made the transition from not so healthy to healthier. The only real "junk" in the house is tortilla chips for the guys to eat their salsa. Which by the way is a serving of veggies. And some six packs of crackers. Sometimes I eat a whole pack but most of the time two will satisfy my need for something bad for me. LOL There are a couple of cake mixes but we make those so rarely I'm not worried about them being in the house. Email Tip: Dieting By The Book: What You Need Experiment in the kitchen. Variety is the spice life -- it's also a great strategy for sticking to your meal plan. Trying different recipes will keep your weight-loss efforts from getting boring. Stop by a used book store and pick up a couple of healthy cookbooks. Surf the web for meals that appeal to your tastes. Peruse magazines for new ideas. There's a wealth of resources out there loaded with healthy variations of traditional favorites or meals you've never even tried. The geese are making a lot of racket this morning. All of the animals are more active with the warmer weather. Pretty soon the goose should start laying eggs again. I'm hoping this is the year we may actually get some goslings. That would be too cool for words. That is if one of the other two geese is a boy..LOL We don't know for sure. Now we know we have a boy and girl duck because the mallard is a boy and the other lays eggs. But she lays them in the water. She needs to work on location. :) Toni...lift up that head. No shame. We have our ups and downs and they don't represent who we are. It is the continued effort that is important. ((hugzz)) Solly...sorry you are still feeling so poorly. Praying today is a much better day. It was a blast doing the tiny bit of moving with my guys but now I can barely get my shirt over my head. :) I'm that pitifully out of shape. Mercee..WTG staying the same. I bet next week will be in the loss column. I like biggest loser also. I was not surprised the black team did well. I was sorry to see Miggy leave. She added something special to the show. Ellen...how are you this morning? Painting or creating? Tech...steal away from facebook and come say howdy. ((hugz)) HappyNow..hope you are having a good day. NurseDee...where did you go? If you are reading, you are missed. All the other absentees....(((hugzz))) God bless, Crystle |
I just ordered me a new food scale from amazon. I need help on portion size. Eating so far has been good. I'm off to heat up the oven to put my turkey breast in.

Hi ladies, sorry I was MIA yesterday. I felt so bad and then we had a presentation to get together and I could not get the guys here to cooperate. They like to wait until tpast the last minute and give you the stuff. I get so frustrated. That is not how I work. Then I finally went to the doctor. I got a breathing treatment, Musinex, Zyrtec, Amoxilcillian, a sinus wash, an inhaler, a probiotic, and dizzy pills. I almost passed out several times during the breathing treatment. I have so much stuff to take on top of what I normally take, Iit takes me forever to get everything in.
Ellen, I agree, you have nothing to be ashamed of. It is probably water or hormones. You are doing a great job (much better than me). Don't get down on yourself on go on a binge. Mercee, staying the same is ok. You will see a loss next week. I too hate seeing people leve on the BL I figure they are there b/c they really need it but it looks like most to them do good afterwards. We get our treadmill tonight. I am not feeling weel enough to use it, so I am hoping for a new start on Monday. Crystle, you sure eat unconventional breakfasts. I get a kick out of reading what you are eating. I hated to see Miggy go to. She was a quiet one but seems she took everything to heart. Alright, got to do something. I have pills to take and some work to do. Hope I can make it through the day. Have a good one. |
Oh Toni, did you see where they are having a new show called Extreme Weight Loss. They have one year to lose the weight but they are at home the whole time. It doesn't start until next year. I think there is something else starting on Friday about weight loss.

Hello everyone! I am sorry I have not been on. I admit I have spent a lot of time on Facebook playing, but did not feel very social. So, I am pushing myself to make sure I do the important stuff first...so here I am!
I weighed this morning. I stayed the same as the last time I weighed, but this is good, since I had gained in there. :) I am encouraged. I finally got my machine yesterday afternoon. For some reason, I went into panic mode and was a total basket case by bed time. I think the biggest thing that was upsetting me was the thought of taking a sleeping pill, so I gave myself permission to take time to adjust and only use the sleeping pill if I needed it after trying a few days. I had a hard time falling asleep, but I think that is just something that will take a bit of time. I was comfortable, the mask I have felt fine, and I could breathe fine. So far, so good! My blood pressure, and blood sugar levels this morning were both better than they have been being...so I was pleased. Hopefully, I will adapt fast and not wake up as much as I did last night. I have not made it to water aerobics this week. The teacher was sick and class was canceled on Monday, and Wednesday was just too full of a day, so I did not even check to see if she was back. I have something tonight, and am keeping my grandson over night tomorrow and Sunday afternoon. It will be a busy weekend.... I am about to starve, so I am signing off and going to find some breakfast. Will try and be better about posting more now that life is settling down for me.... TONI: Good idea on getting a food scale. Don't let the gain derail you...just stick to it. Slow and steady wins the race! SOLLY: Oi! That is a lot of meds! Feel better soon, dear friend! Please get plenty of rest. COUNTRY: If eating at the computer is a no no , then I am very guilty! I always eat my breakfast and lunch here. :o I did use my beautiful brushes Tuesday night. It was SO much fun! I can't wait to go back next week. MERCEE: Hi! How is the weather up there in Chi town? Staying the same is better than gaining... I hope next week you see a loss! |
Good Morning
It was so nice to wake up this morning and see ya'll here. Yesterday was a good day. Got my lazy bootie in gear and took a walk. We tried a new fish last night called Swai. It has another name also but not sure what that one is. It was sweeter than the tilapia and not as fishy not that talapia is fishy. Both my boys enjoyed the slightly larger portion also. They are a longer fillet.
Email Tip: Count Down: The Stairs Burn... Take the stairs. In the time you spend waiting for the elevator, you could already have reached your destination...and burned calories. By taking the stairs, you burn an estimated eight calories per minute. This can add up if you take the steps several times a day. Introducing light exercise into your daily routine can boost stamina and increase energy levels. There are no stairs around where I live but we do park farther away at the stores to get in a few steps. Solly...Big giant hugs and some hot tea. ((hugzz)) Praying what ever you have breaks loose and you feel better soon. I'm with you, waiting to the last minute would not work. I"m wondering if that is a guy thing or a generation thing. Congratulations on the treadmill. Ellen...awesome on getting your machine. Praying you'll be able to fall asleep without the meds. Everyone I know that has to take them is on them forever. My mom and both sisters take sleeping pills. My sister's partner takes sleeping pills and my old prayer partner takes them also. None of them can go to sleep naturally now. So glad you got to work with your new brushes. Toni...hope you are feeling better about this weeks weigh in. I need to check a couple of email and figure out what is for breakfast. ((Everybody)) Love and hugs, Crystle |
Good morning everyone. Just having some good ole coffee and checking out stuff on the computer. It looks like a beautiful day out. I think this afternoon I'll go see a friend and have tea with her. Not a word about my dryer. Wish they would call. Guess I'll have to call them tomorrow. My turkey turned out so good. I might have to have a turkey sand. for breakfast on those whole wheat sandwich thins. I just love those.
Solly- wow thats a ton of meds. It will fill you up just eating pills. I hope you start feeling better soon. Don't know how you're at work. I'd be laid out in the bed.... Ellen- I'm so glad you got your machine. And it will be nice when you're comfortable with it. Soon you'll be sleeping like a baby. I have to take something at night to sleep. Thats good sometimes when you can just stay the same when you weigh in. Its a new week ahead of us. Crystle- I would like to try a new fish. Its hard to get good stuff around here. Cool you got to take a walk yesterday. I hope to get out and around today. Have a great day everyone. Will be back later. |
Joy Joy Joy
I wanted to share with ya'll my glorious news today. I finally got to see my grand daughter after almost 7 months. It was like she was never gone. Praying her mama will begin to let us see her more. She is such a joy. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to upload some of her pictures on my facebook.
((Everybody)) Too happy for words. Love and hugs, Crystle |
Popping in................
Crystle, that is so wonderful about seeing your GD. I pray you get more time with her. You are an awesome lady and she needs you in her life. Ellen, I'm glad you finally got your mask. Funny how all that stuff in our minds effect us. I took Ambian every night for a year and a half when I went through chemo. I didn't have any trouble getting off it. I only take it now when I can't get to sleep. But I also take Lyrica for my neuropathies and they make me sleep. So if I forget to take it, I panic and can't sleep. i know it is probably all in my head, but like I said the mind is a strange thing. Hope you adjust well quickly. Toni, what a bummer on your dryer, I would definately call them. I love those sandwich thins also. I did weigh yesterday, I think, and I am down 3 pounds since last week and 6 if you go by the doctor's scale yesterday. I have been eating, I keep try to find something that makes me feel better but nthing does. I will only use the 3 lbs. I keep a running log of my wt each week. I can't remember from one week to the next what I weighed. |
Good morning
My arms are like rubber. :) I did 40 counter push ups this morning, all in a row. I know it doesn't sound like much but it is double what I used to be able to do in a row. :carrot: Yesterday was a pretty good eating day. I think I ate a bit much with all the emotions I was finding a place for. Trying to learn not to do that.
Today's email tip is not an option for me but I am taking advantage of a husband that wants to help. :) Email Tip: Hire A Personal Trainer Can't get comfy in the gym? Don't have the motivation to work out at home? When you've tried everything else to fire up your exercise engine and nothing has worked, maybe it's time for a personal trainer. You'll pay a price but that well-spent money will provide you with the guidance you need. A fitness professional can help you get started with an effective exercise regimen. They'll serve as your leader and provide you with the know-how to work your way around the gym. Follow their advice and you'll have all of the tools you need for an effectual workout. Solly...thank you for your prayers. Lilly is just precious and loves her extended family so much. She didn't want to leave yesterday. The time went way to fast and was way to short. But a blessing for sure. WTG on losing. Hope you are feeling better. Toni..pooey on the dryer people. They should call and let you know something. I didn't get to walk yesterday but I did play a few minutes on the total gym at my mom's. Ellen...((hugzz)) Mercee...((hugzz)) HappyNow...((hugzz)) Gotta get moving. Still have to check email and facebook. It is too easy to spend too much time sitting here. God bless, Crystle |
Morning all!
I had a rough day yesterday. I had a tire rod break on my way to work. I thank God I am okay. He truly blessed me. I couldn't control the car. I'm thankful I didn't hurt anyone and I didn't get hurt. We got the car fixed yesterday and I was able to drive home from work. It cost a pretty penny but I am grateful. I managed to workout when I got home. I needed to relieve the stress. (whoever thought I would resort to working out rather than eating). Solly- I am glad you are feeling better. Great job on your loss. I hope you enjoy your treadmill as much as I enjoy mine. Crystle- I'm glad you got to enjoy spending time with your granddaughter. What a blessing. Ellen-- I hope you get to enjoy a good nights sleep very soon. I'm happy you got your mask. Toni- I hope yo hear something about your dryer soon. I like turkey also especially when it turns out well. Have a great day all. |
Good afternoon. I think I have finally turned the corner with this stuff. I am feeling better today so each day will be an improvement finally. Now I have the big "D" I guess from the antibotic. If it's not one thing, it's something else.
We are supposed to work at the mission tomorrow if they need us. Then tomorrow night we have a fund raiser for a local private high school. The company paid for a table so I have to go. It will be fun, I haven't been since my DD was a freshman, 11 years ago. It is supposed to be in the 50's and sunny all weekend. I am so thankful for that. I want to spend some time outside and soak up some Vit D. Crystle, good job doing 20 more counter push ups than you have done before. Progress. Keep up the good work. Mercee, I am so glad you were not hurt. Wow I am impressed, turning to sxercise in lieu of food. you are making some changes. We can't get our treadmill until tomorrow now. DH does nothave anyone to help him get it out of the truck and downstairs until then. That's ok, I sure don't feel like working out just yet. Toni, I can smell that turkey over here. Thanks for the good weather for a change. Enjoy yours. Ellen, hoping you are sleeping better with your mask. Have a great weekend. If I spend any time indoors, I will try to get on. |
Hello! I just got in from the big farmer's market a little ways from here. My son in law and grand son went along with me. I LOVE that place! They have a cafeteria with all kinds of great, interesting foods from all over the world. (lots of immigrants work there...) Lunch was great, I got a lot of fresh veggies, and some cheap but good lunch meats for Tom's lunches.
I did not weigh this morning, though I was tempted. My morning blood pressure was good, but my sugars were not. It was because I went to a party last night and ate too much. :) The hostess had gotten a bunch of gluten free stuff just for me, and I pigged out. Interestingly, I was uptight and shakey all day...until I ate some of the stuff there, and it seems once my blood sugar started to rise I felt a lot better. I slept well last night with no drugs again and I was feeling really good about the cpap and the adjustment to it. I have a lot of friends praying for me, and I can sure feel it! Its my daughter and son in law's anniversary, so I am keeping my grandson tonight for them to go out and have a nice dinner. They are going to pick him up tomorrow. Unfortunately, Tom has a meeting tonight at church, but at least I am not on my own ALL night long! I need to go see what the little guy is into. I hope you all have a great weekend! :grouphug: MERCEE: Yes, thank God you are ok and no one was hurt! How scary! And I am impressed you resorted to exercise rather than calories to deal with the stress! :bravo: COUNTRY: That is great that Lilly picked right up where things left off...and I am very happy for you all. I just can't imagine going seven months with out seeing Kaeleb or Bella....my heart just hurts for you! Swai is a river catfish from Asia, and I wonder if it is close to Basa fish. SOLLY: Yay for the loss! The mind is strange...I just could not figure out why I was so panicked, but its getting better! Now I just need to learn to keep my mouth and lips closed, or I will have to switch to a full face mask and I don't want to do that! The nose one is bad enough! TONI: I wish you had a Trader Joes near you. They have frozen sole filets for $5. I love sole. Have you had it? Its very mild and there are dozens of ways to fix it. We eat fish almost every night now. Its so good for you! If you want to find good ecological choices for fish, check out the Monterrey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch web site. They tell you which kinds of fish are safe to eat and which kinds to avoid. Wal Mart has some frozen fish portions that I have found to be pretty good too. |
