LOL Onderchic! hehe.

well i listened to the hypnosis cd, and it worked :) i went for a run.

but sadly, the shin splits have returned! i guess the extended rest i had with no running, probably was the reason why i had no pain in my shins yesterday.

so i only managed to run between 30-1 minute intervals, but the pain in my shins was quite painful, so didnt push myself to injury. will take rest days between running from now on.

i did a total of 6 minutes of running (with interval walking).

i'm going to also increase the number of steps i take each day. yesterday i took 7174 steps.

so today i want to increase that by a couple of hundred steps. so far i am on 4965.

Paul Mckenna said that there was a study conducted by this scientist, and he found out that the difference between a normal weight person and a person overweight is only 2000 steps. that is a person who is normal weight, only takes 2000 more steps than an overweight person. so i'm motivated to increase my steps, by taking little walks here and there throughout the day :)

ps i have to admit this thread and you girls does motivate me to do some exercise each day, so i have something to report! hehehe

Hey all! My second cataract surgery went well, but I think it triggered a migraine and my stomach is very upset. The vision in the new eye is blurry but I can tell its a big inprovement! there's a lot of gunk in there still so it will take a few days to clear out. I get to throw away my contacts and solutions, and donate my glasses. I got a new set of drops for the right eye and now have to keep the left drops seperate from the left's drops so I don't get them confused!! But if this is the worst I have to complain about, I feel I'm doing fine. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.

Onederchic 08-17-2009 05:01 PM

Aww I hope you feel better soon, Penguin :hug:

Ok, I didn't do cardio today. The wierd pain wasn't going away. My chest, abdomen, and hips are sore. (abduction and adduction hurt) So I worked my arms to exhaustion and did a few stretching type exercises for my abdomen. Nothing crazy. The point is I did something!

Onederchic 08-17-2009 11:25 PM

Jennifer rocks! :cheer2::cheer::cheer3:

Thanks!! I just noticed your reply!
Even with exercising on the cruise and eating mostly good, I gained seven pounds on the cruise! I am trying so hard to take it back off and as of this morning I only had 1.5 pounds to go.

You rock!:carrot:

Onederchic 08-18-2009 12:55 AM

dream710 08-18-2009 04:31 AM

Well did my pilates-dvd was longer than I thought so I was ten minutes late for work. Good thing I have a good boss that over looks those kind of things. :D Day was pretty decent, had hoped to get in a little bit of exercise tonight but got caught up in cleaning and taking care of the kids. Sat down at nine to watch Slumdog Millionaire with the hubby and fell asleep into the second scene!

Penguin-glad to hear the surgery went good. Hope you get to feeling better.

jen-I hope your feeling better. Is the pain moving? I'd be careful, don't push it too much.

Diva-I feel the same way bout TDP and Sp. I like taking the quizzes and reading the different articles. I've signed up for a couple of dares on livestrong but don't really post on either site...usually just here.

Sunshine-Does that mean you finished level one?

Echo-great job on getting up and moving. When you do running/walking intervals, at what speed are you running? Do you stretch before you start your workout? Shin splints are definitely no fun, and I tend to get them from time to time, especially if I run outside.

Onderchic-Woohoo-leader of the pep squad thanks for keeping us motivated.

Nakedmango-great job on the exercise as usual!!

Well I best head to bed...insomnia sucks. Maybe I can get a few more hours before the day begins. I plan to get 30 minutes in on the treadmill this morning.

Everyone have a great day

good luck traveling michele ! :cheer:

well done sunshineCA! :cheer3:

way to go dream710!! :cheer2:

thanks Dream710!! :) i run mostly on concrete towards the park, and then run in park, abit on the grass, but mostly concrete. i walk to warm up for about 7 minutes or so. and then start running. erm i dont know what my speed is. but its between running and jogging. and then i throw in a few 30 second sprints where i have to run as fast as i can, as if a tiger is chasing me! lol

Echo 08-18-2009 09:13 AM

my exercise confession :)

I did the p90x test. i didn't compeltely pass the test, but that's okay. i will just adapt the different exercises...

I did p90x workout 1 - (chest and back).
(altogether took about 1 hour and 50 minutes to do the workout). but i subsititued the exercise to my own level. like i cant do pull ups. so i used weights instead. and i cant do floor or knee push ups, so did them against the wall instead. :)

i felt great afterwards!! :) and still do!!! i feel that release of endorphines and that that nice sweet soft feeling in your muscles after you've exercised. (the parasympathetic response) and i feel a natural high! :cb:

i really enjoyed the workout. and i think that is important. if you are not enjoying it, or doing it until it hurts and dread it, than you wont do it regularly. i pushed myself here and there but not too much to cause too much pain or injury, feel the burn, but not pain! is my motto lol

i'm looking forward to day 2 of p90x workout - bring it! :cheer3:

i'm going to now fill in my worksheet

Onederchic 08-18-2009 09:16 AM

Narnia99 08-18-2009 02:14 PM

Awesome job everyone :carrot: As always you are all very motivating!!!

August 18: STS Meso 2, week 3= Chest, shoulders, triceps.

Penguin, glad to hear that your surgery went well. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Jen & Diva I hope you are both feeling better soon.

Echo, great job with P90X :bclap: It's been awhile since I've done the workouts but I remember Ab ripperX being tough!
Be careful with the shin pain. I used to run quite a bit, (cross country & long distance races), and one day I started having pain in one of my shins. I ignored it for too long, and eventually I ended up with a stress fracture. I've never been able to run since, as it always comes back. Have you tried warming up your shins before starting your runs?

Onderchic, thanks for being such a great cheerleader to us all

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Onederchic 08-18-2009 02:17 PM

Yahoo Narnia and thanks :D :cheer::cheer2:

patchworkpenguin 08-18-2009 04:46 PM

I'm feeling much better today. I had an appointment at the Dr's office and he was happy with my progress and healing. He gave me a perscription for more drops for the right eye but told me I could quit the drops in the left! Yay! Hubby fixed me blueberry pancakes this morning, since I didn't get breakfast yesterday.

omorrow is going to be busy but not much going on today. Its been raining off and on, which has made is slightly cooler but much more humid. Pffft!

Echo, Glad to hear you did C&B and enjoyed it!

Onederchic 08-18-2009 04:48 PM

So glad you're feeling better, Penguin
