30 minutes cardio finished

Total today = 1 hour cardio

Starting tomorrow, I will be tweaking my routines :D

patchworkpenguin 08-13-2009 08:05 PM

I'm back from my haircut. Its not much different from before but the sides and back are shorter. I look more like Demi from Ghost. I haven't gotten used to it yet but it doesn't look very different in the pictures I got my Dad to take.

Julie and Julia the movie was much better than the book! They paralelled the lives of Julie and Julia as they discover themselves through cooking. I thought Julie was much more likeable in the movie than the book. While Meryl was hysterical as Julia; I thought the movie was a tad confusing on some points of Julia's life but since I have read her biography that helped clear things up. Julia and Paul were adorable in the movie and so obviously in love!

No workout; I dare not mess up my hair before Hubby sees it, LOL!

Onederchic 08-13-2009 08:10 PM

I am glad you had a great time, Penguin :D

Echo 08-13-2009 08:14 PM

patchworkpenguin 08-14-2009 10:29 AM

I get to clean house today. I'm so excited.

I hope to exercise, also. Probably UB weights. Maybe cardio.

Onederchic 08-14-2009 10:49 AM

I got about 10 minutes into my first cardio workout and my little doggy got sick on the sofa and required my attention so I am planning on getting it done up this afternoon.

Diva 08-14-2009 12:05 PM

Oh I hope your doggy is alright. :(

30 Minutes HIIT on the TM & 15 on the Elliptical. I was tired today. My neighbor wants to start going to the GYM with me so now I have some extra incentive & Accountability and that's always a good thing. I'll be less inclined to make up excuses not to go!
:D

jendiet 08-14-2009 12:30 PM

aww chic, is your doggy ok??? Diva, what fun. Thanks echo.

today I might have to rest. I have been having what I thought was a period for a week, but it was just spotting. Now I am having heavier bleeding and cramps. Might put me in the bed.

Onederchic 08-14-2009 12:32 PM

Doggy seems to be okay now, thanks :D

Awesome Diva :cheer:

Feel better soon, Jennifer :hug::hug:

Narnia99 08-14-2009 01:34 PM

Great job everyone :cheer

I decided to take yesterday as my rest day as my legs were quite sore. They weren't too bad this morning though so I did 32 mins on the Stairmaster and finished up with some ab work.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

patchworkpenguin 08-14-2009 02:08 PM

I pulled out an old DVD P90X Shoulders and Arms. I haven't done this workout in a year 7-08. My shoulders are mad at me now and I'm going to eat lunch!

Chic, I hope doggie is alright.

Narnia, Good job on the starimaster dispite the sore legs.

Jen, Sorry about the cramps, I hope you feel better soon.

Diva, I'd love to have someone exercise with me!

Echo 08-14-2009 03:07 PM

jen i can relate! first few days of TOM im heavy and crampy. so i havent been able to do any cardio

well done penguin!! :cheer3: i also got the p90x dvd set!! i'm going to start it next week. but i dont have resistance bands, and i dont have a pull up bar, nor am i going to get one. and i couldnt pull up anyways!! lol im going to adjust the exercises haha.

Onederchic 08-14-2009 03:17 PM

Way to go everyone!! :cheer2:

Apparently my bf is taking over as my "personal trainer" and has made a weight/strength routine for me to do. I will be working it in a bit..update to follow :o

patchworkpenguin 08-14-2009 04:33 PM

I did an add-on workout. I got Tamilee Webb's Cardio Blast {30min} from Netflix today. I didn't think it was a blast but was glad I gave it a try.

Chic, Yay on your BF helping you!

Echo, I did the X a few years ago. I followed the Lean rotation and tried for 16reps each exercise. I didn't like the Lean, you might want to stick with the Classic. I subbed other cardio because I thought a little Tony goes a long way. I didn't have a pullup bar then and used the bands. I was using the heaviest one I could for the pullup subs {black} but later learned that if you use a lighter band {green or red?} you get better range of motion and work more muscles. I never did Yoga X but loves X Stretch and Kempo X. Remember that you can take mini breaks during the exercises, they help out a lot!

Onederchic 08-14-2009 04:43 PM

Congrats Penguin! :cheer2:

I just finished 30 minutes free step with Wii Fit. A total of 3230 steps..now I don't know if that is good or bad but I know I am sweating. Next is the weight/strength routine. He wants me to use tens and not my comfy fives :o. Wish me luck!

Onederchic 08-14-2009 05:45 PM

I just finished the upper body routine he laid out for me. The tens are heavy *whimper* but I pushed through it :o

Echo 08-14-2009 06:24 PM

wow onderchic! you are on a roll! i'm so impressed by all the workouts you've been doing! you're working really really hard ! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

thanks Penguin for the feedback about the p90x! i really appreciate it!!
do you recommend a particular brand of resistance bands? and where do you put them ? i have this beam thing in the garden i could wrap it around i suppose.

well done penguin! :cheer3: :cheer3: :cheer3:

Echo, I bought some bands as Ross {TJMaxx}, I think they were Valero? I stared with blue then went to black, then later discovered I should have been using the much lighter red. I exercise in my living room, the previous owners removed a door leading to the hallway and I stuck a screwdriver into the metal loops of the hinge and taped the band to the handle. I was terrified that the band/screwdriver was going to come flying my way so I was always pulling lightly. I bought a Iron Gym for my next program, I still can't do a pullup but I learned that you can modify by standing on a chair and letting your legs take most of the weight off you arms. I found this method okay. I've heard of another product that is basically a rubber ball with a loop attached to it; you close a door with the ball on the other side and the loop hanging over the top of the door, then you loop your band/tubing handle through the loop and you don't have to worry about it coming loose. I looked for a link but can't find one.

Belezura, Is your username pronounced Bel-e-zura? That's a lot of hard work! And so consistant! What do you do for HIIT?
