Sorry that yesterday was so frustrating and stressful, Slimmin, but I think it's great that you didn't just give up on getting to a meeting. Spending an evening on YOU is important!

Beachluvr, you may be in the negative, but not by much at all. 1.7 lbs is nothing!! (That's like one meal's worth, according to my old way of eating) Turning it around is definitely something that you can do, but DO IT NOW before those 1.7 lbs grow to 10.7!

As far as my Christmas goal goes, I'm humming along pretty well at the moment (down 7 lbs since 8/26). Of course, that's liable to change at any moment , so I really try to focus on one day, one meal at a time.

Hope everyone is having a good day and staying dry - it's been raining buckets here, along with some wicked thunder and lightening. Hope it stops in time to get a walk in tonight.

Question How Do I join the Challenge

I am brand new to this and need a challenge and Christmas seems like a good goal point. How do I participate? How did you all create the weight tracker graphs?

I am 35 years old and have over 75 pounds to lose!! My marriage is a wreck partly due to my weight issues and I have lost all my confidence and desire to socialize. I really need help and support.

Any advice?

Nashtex, welcome. You join just by jumping right in with both feet.

3FC makes you have a certain number of post before you can create tickers, so you'll have to post a bit first. We are very informal, everybody keeps track of their own goals. We are all just supporting each other on the journey.

As far as advice, one step at a time, go for a walk and start working on your food, fitday has a great site that helps you journal your food.

Hey all I agree w Dixie,it's been quiet here lately. Come back, we're lonely!!

Better today girls! Thanks for the encouragement and support.
I peeked at the scales and I'm not sure what happened but I seem to be more on track... for now.
I walked by a store yesterday and they had already put their Christmas stuff out!!! It's just around the corner.

Welcome Nashtex!!

I did a sneak peek weigh in this morning. The scale is stuck at 181, I want to see 170's so badly I would consider standing on my head if it would help. I have been op for 2 days, only strayed a little on Tuesday. Or I could claim the whole week as op. I will continue to watch my eating and exercise. Hope everyone has a wonderful good day. Catch ya all later Pat.

I Got my cardio exercise in for the day. I did 45 minutes of walking around the house in while watching the Cubs game from last night. It has sprinkled rain most of the afternoon. Looks like it could rain some more. I have dinner in the oven. I am ready for the evening. Catch ya all later. Pat

I'm here! I'm Here! Life has gotten in the way of my best laid plans... *sigh* I have managed to do some working out - but not my 2-a-days. I took a sneak peek this morning too - and I'm happily farther away from the #190s! WOO HOO!!! Tom's here in FULL force though!

Oh - and I got my engagement ring today! I had ordered it online... I'm SO HAPPY!!!! only 3 weeks and 2 days left!!!!!

Ok I'll check in later - lots on my plate today!

Hi Nashtex! You've come to the right place for support. Just take it one day, one meal at a time and it won't be quite so overwhelming.

Good job on getting the exercise done ladies! I don't know about most of you, but I find that much more challenging than eating right. With that said, I'm off to get my walk in before it gets too late! Rita

Some days are better than others. I agree with you Rita, the exercise can be difficult. Yesterday I walked the two miles to the store to get a salad for lunch. If it's not raining today, may do that again!
I am trying to stay focused, one step at a time, looking to get below 140 by the end of the month and I am much closer to 150 than 140 right now.
Let's go, 19 perfectly OP days, I am going to go for it!

Good morning girls! Nex - welcome hon! you've definately come to the right place. any time you want to vent scream whatever - please just come in here and post instead of running to the fridge or cupboard! You can do this - but you have to do it for YOU!!!

I'm happy to report I'm down #2.6 today. I'm getting back to where I was before my huge emotional fiasco! Still pushing for #163 for Christmas!!! I CAN DO IT!

Pat, every time I see that "little black dress" in your signature, I get a little dose of encouragement. I have a "little black dress" hanging in my closet with the tags still on! It's been there a while, but it's a classic style and very pretty. I'm looking forward to finally being able to wear it!

Have a great day everyone!

Talking

Hey ladies I've been bad, bad, bad. I just finished a personal pizza from Pizza Hut. I wasn't prepared for this week and got so hungry. I've been hungry all week and I let it get to me. I'm so ashamed!! Now on to the rest of my day.

I'm a little nervous, I have a 4th grader who has decided that she doesn't want to sleep in her own bed. She's sleeping on the couch cushions by our bed. This started at the beginning of summer and I've tried everything I can think of. She's talking to the school counselor today. I've taken away her allowance and tried talking to her, but nothing is working. Still no excuse for the pizza!

I'm going to prepare food this weekend for next week. My WI is Monday so we'll see how that goes. If I behave the pizza should be worked off. I'll do the 4 Big Miles DVD tonight... that'll work off the pizza.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Default Thanks for the Welcome

Thanks for the encouragement. I am amazed by the sheer dedication and will power of this group. I hope that it somehow rubs off on me. My problem is that there are so many stresses right now and the only thing that temporarily makes me feel better is food. Of course, as we all know, I then feel like crap a little bit later.

So, here goes. I weigh a little over 214 pounds and need to lose weight before my sister's wedding. She was very disappointed that I could not wear (or even try on) the bridesmaid dress she had chosen at a very nice bridal boutique. It is pretty embarassing. Not to mention that my daughter is just getting to that age where they are brutally (and innocently) honest about things. She said the other week that my tummy sure was fat.

I hope for once in my life I can stick to this. More than anything, I want to be healthly and live a long time.

I'll keep you updated.

Hi everyone!

Looks like I've missed a few days posting on this thread.

Welcome nashtex! I've found that by sticking with 3FC I can stay encouraged by reading everyone's posts. I like to look at the goal photo albums as well for inspiration. Keep coming back! Even if you're having a bad day, better especially if you're having a bad day! Best of luck to you!

Not much else to say here, I'm just pluggin' along.

Take care! Have a great day!
