I hope everybody had a lovely first day of autumn. I lost a pound this week. I thought I'd lose more than that, but I drank too much wine last night and blew it at the last minute. Except for that, I've been a lot more focused on keeping calories in line and really cutting down on refined carbs. I've also upped my workouts from 3x per week to 5-6. I don't know if I'll make my goal for the month, but I'm sure gonna' try!

I know I joined this challange but sort of was mired in a shame spiral of pity and sloth....so was lax on the posting. I have pretty much taken it easy for most of August and well most of September...and am feeling the need to at least step up the exercise so I don't end up where I started in April.

Yeah...so please count me in the challange!

My goal for this challange and life really is to exercise EVERYDAY! Be it Yoga, or straight up cardio....

I haven't posted here in a while, either, but I'm very much aware of the holidays approaching. I want to be smaller on turkey day! So I'm off to the gym to hit the elliptical runner and maybe the treadmill. Have a good day, all.

Half way through the week and all is well! Ive had a pretty good week eating and exercise wise. Im still really stiff from mondays class, i went walking last night, but the stiffness seems to be worse today!! Think I may just do some strenous housework tonight instead, and hopefully the stiffness will be gone tomorrow.

Default Hi!

I've just joined the site & this looks like a good place to start, I hope it's ok that I just 'jump in'! I started following the 'Body for Life' program again on Monday. I've used it in the past and had some success with it. This time, I plan to see it through to the end though! I've given myself incentives/rewards as I meet my goals along the way, so I'm very excited to get to it & go on a cruise and get a new car!

By Halloween: I hope to lose 15 lbs.
By New Years: I hope to lose 30 lbs.

Hi all!

Sorry I didnt mean to ditch you all. I have had this cold and TOM and lots of things to do anyway. I have kinda spaced on lots of routine things. The TOM is a doozy--I am on the pill continuously to keep me from having my period but last week I forgot to take my pill one day and now I am suffering the consequences. Its okay--I am actually supposed to have 2-3 periods a year at least.

So I blame the TOM for only losing 1 pound last week--I swear I look skinnier than last week and my clothes are looser. Still not making much progress on the arms. Maybe that will be in the next 20--Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I swear--Ive missed you guys, if I havent been resting I have been running around like the famed chicken without head. really because I have been so spacey.

Okay--time to catch up! october is just around the corner! Maybe I will post a total progress report for us all for sept--can everyone post their total weight loss for sept?

Help me lose: congrats on beating that sugar free bug--probably all the sf cough drops I have been eating helped me to stall a little. How did you do last week altogether?

rswlchic: okay--what does your name mean? I was thinking it was a designer initials but I can figure it. Good to hear about your weight loss. How was Philly anyway.

Tamara: uh oh--you are pulling ahead of me. I probably wont catch up unless I have a woosh. Its all good--getting to onederland is the thing. How did it go with measurements.

Mother: good job on sticking with an english muffin--it is great when you can make the right selections despite being in front of a buffet! It is great training for maintenance.

Mary: of course you can tweak your goals--I always set mine a tad higher than I think I can do just to give myself an aspiration. You have done so weel so far--lost a lot--how is that feeling?

Mom2 and Nikki good to have you here. Basically we usually have check ins on Monday to discuss hwo we did and post our weights. Of course people post a lot and from my experience it really helps to keep the focus going!

Piggin: good for you to stay on plan despite not losing. Basically there are a lot reasons that we dont lose weight like we think we should--the body is pretty complicated. But in the long run if we do the work we will see the results! So keep it up.

Have a great last four days of September all!

Sno

Seasoning--I have 5 lbs to go to make my goal for the month--that woosh beter be good! Thanks for alerting us to the first day of autumn. I knew something was different.

Lekhika: I swear I thought of you yesterday--and was wondering how you were doing and if you would come back. I was about to send you a PM to see if all was well. Good to have you back--you are so helpful and good at describing your challenges and solutions--it helps us all and I hope it helps you!

so, to try and get to my goal, I've decided that I would try the south beach diet. So far, I love it. I feel so much better and less hungry.

Also, in order to get to my ultimate goal, I am looking into yoga classes. I would like to begin teacher training next year in september, and want to establish a regular practice so i can advance in time, and build a strong foundation.

So I decided to weigh myself this morning to see if by chance i'd hit my september goal early and I did! Right on the nose. I'm now 2-5 pounds shy of my goal weight but still have quite a bit of toning to do in the butt and abs so thats my quest for october/november to get some muscles showing up.

Lehkika- thanks for the congrats. It's nice to have you back here in the forums. You've been missed.

Mary, I had to tweak septembers goal a little earlier this month. Mostly on account of, i'm ashamed to admit, me cheating each and every weekend of this month! I've managed to drink beer, pizza (twice), cheesy bread, sex in a pan (3 times :S ) and a few more things. We'll all have our slip ups, but we need to be happy about what we've accomplished. And you've accomplished tons!

Sno- a pound loss is still a loss! I commend you for being able to lose anything while TOM's around and having a cold. I had that exact same thing happen back in august and managed to put on a pound. My eating habits areshot to **** when I have a cold and TOM didn't help. I hope you feel better soon!

Just over a month until halloween and thats giving me alot of drive to get more muscle. It's my favourite time of year as I love dressing up. It'll be nice to dress up in a costume that isn't in the double digits for the first time in ages. I'm dressing up as Chun-li from the Street Fighter 2 game

I hope you're all doing well as this week is coming close to an end. Keep posting!

Sno: the past week i was down 1.5 pounds! So far for September 3.5 pounds so yeah! I am happy!

Congrats on losing 1 pound, I think that is great! Look at how far you have come and I bet it was those sf cough drops that did it! They are evil, anything sugar free.

I am proud to say that since I have had no sf stuff in the house my cravings are still there, last night I went to the store and bought some stuff to make pumpkin cheesecake - low carb with splenda and it ended up just sitting on the counter, after eating dinner and other things I did not have the craving for the sweets!!

Hello everybody,
Sno, I was wondering about you. Glad you're back among us. Welcome to the new folks, Mom2 & Nikki!

dcapulet, I see you're trying South Beach. I'm a returning SB dieter. I lost about 15 pounds a few years ago using that plan, but fell off the wagon and it came back. I'm doing a Phase II sort of plan right now. I find that the days I stay closer to a Phase I diet are the ones where I lose the most. It's just hard to do when I prepare food for other people that I can't eat! I made chicken and rice for the family the other night and finally gave in and had some, too. I really don't get hungry when I stick to the diet. What sort of food plan are you using?

Hello everyone quick check in, I have been sick with TOM and some odd stomach problems after a migraine on Saturday. Between that soccer, homeschooling and this horrible cold I have been out of it. Oh yeah and working since I couldn't get anyone to cover shifts. I am up slightly but hope to be back at my marker by next check in. With the odd stomach pains my stomach blew up like a buddah belly lol and so I think my body is retaining water while unwell.

I will try to keep up with posts now and hope everyone has a great weekend!

Oh yeah and I am going to the Y tomorrow for their free fitness consultation where we evaluate my fitness discuss my goals and design a workout. Since I have not been working out at all to this point I am excited to get a plan going!
