  • Hello!

If I may still join, I would love to! I am just starting with Nutrisystem and would be thrilled with a 1 pound a week loss...

    My goals:

To adjust to my NS food plan
Drink 8 glasses of water a day
Bike or walk 30 min a day
    weights twice per week.

So is there an official Weigh In day here?

    Thanks!---cuppajoe
  • hi all,

I am slowly building a short yoga daily practice. i've only missed two days this week, which is fine: i tend to go overboard in the beginning. and i managed to sneak in a weight session yesterday.

today starts a new week for me, and a new chance to work on my goals.

    have a nice weekend!
  • Ok so it's a new day and new attitude. Just got back from a 5 mile run (56 min) this am. Feeling great. I am going to try to hold on to this great feeling.

    Have a great weekend.
  • cuppajoe- there isn't really an official weigh in date, most people pick their own. I've always stuck with mondays, but during the week of TOM sometimes i'll do a different day when I'm not so bloated. It seems most of us tend to do mondays or fridays. Welcome to this group, you'll find everyone very motivating and helpful while you're on your journey through weightloss.
Your goals are awesome and highly reasonable. I'm sure you'll do well. I can't wait to see your progress and hear how you're doing!

So I'm pretty excited about posting my 6month of weightloss pics. I'm actually going to pick up a new camera next friday (payday!) and should hopefully have a shot up by the end of the weekend. I've had a couple of slipups during these past six months (it's not like i'm NEVER gonna have a beer again, just not as much!)

I'm looking forward to weighing myself on monday as i've been feeling rather skinny this past week. I've also been actually following my strength plan, and i'm beginning to see some definiton in places on my body I never thought possible. For this i'm extremely happy but I also realise that may even mean the scale may go up on account of the muscle i'm building. Whatever the scale says on monday, i don't care! I'm finally beginning to feel somewhat comfortable with myself!

I think i've mentioned though how I think my goal of 128lbs may be to high. I used some weightloss tools I found online, and it seems I may be right. Since i've recently discovered I am in fact a small/medium frame it actually says that my ideal weight should be between 120-133. (i'm only 2 pounds away from the highest weight in that category!). I'm prepared to go as low as 124, but I really don't want to get much lower. Anything lower than that at my height, when i'm also training and building muscle just doesn't sound healthy.

This afternoon the boyfriend and I are going to go find me some more jeans, i'm only going to buy two pairs as I'm expecting that I may possibly drop one more size before reaching my goal (the weight I still need to lose seems to be lingering around the lower back/tummy and hips. Damn spare tires, I never did know how to fix them!). I did buy a bra the other day and it seems that I probably will go from my current D, D/D to a C. I'm still having some trouble adjusting to that (I haven't been a C since grade 5! when I first developed my breasts), but it's amazing how much the right fitting bra can make you appear to stand taller, and also be skinnier. My boobs have also gotten much more perkier looking (I say looking, because when braless they're not quite so perky )due to their minimizing. Maybe it's not the bra that's making me stand tall but my rising confidance!

Anyhoo, enough about me. I hope that everyone is having an exquisite weekend. We've passed the one week in september mark and it's nice to see a couple of new faces on here.

Sno- Congrats on 52 lbs! I'm hoping I can reach that mark this monday on my weigh-in. As for being selfish with creating the threads, you may feel that way, but what you're doing is very selfless. Yes we motivate you, but you keep us all highly motivated as well. I guess its a selfish group effort? Thats awesome that you bought a smaller size of jeans. Snug or not, if you can do them up they still fit!

Well the sun is out so i'm going to take my dog for a nice stroll and then run my buildings stairs. Keep on losing!
  • Saturday!
    Hi all!

I am whupped--I watched my friends child to day from 8-7 and then when I left I had left my lights on in the car and had to wait another hour for AAA to come.

What I am so grateful for is that the more weight I lose the more determined I get to lose all my weight--I am getting stronger mentally.

So did I mention that my car broke down and it is not worth fixing? and that I cant afford another one right now? Well my freaky rich friend loaned me one of her cars for a while if I do some occasional babysitting for her. And get this--the car is a porsche--OMG--what a beautiful car and it is so fun to drive. I am not sure I can handle the responsibilty tho--I freak out at every noise I hear, worried it is going to break down in my care. For now it is fun tho!

Ilerjo: you have done fantastic so far!! And you are so close to onederland. How about you tell us little about you and your plan!

Nina: I know you will be a maintainer soon--I have complete confidence in that. Just dont desert us when you do--I want to hear all about is so I can prepare for it!

Mary: I love that advice--it feel so good to have something new fit. I almost wore the new jeans last night but it still was just a hair too tight--looked a little like sausage butt!! Maybe next week. . .

Cuppa: we dont really have an official weigh in day--I think since we started on monday, everyone should make sure to check in on Mondays--but people have weigh ins on different days for different reasons. Hey--dont I know you from somewhere? Tee hee!

Capulet: :congrats: on your progress with the yoga practice--that is awesome. I used to do kundalini yoga and I just loved it. I need for my knee to get better before I go back, but I cant wait!

Chic: great job on the 5 mile run--wow--you are super athlete!

Elegant:--hee hee--I love our little back and forth about who or what is selfish. Just hanging with you all and hearing about your trials, tribulations successes and just your lives keeps me on track with my eating. I actually started 3 other threads with similar challenges to try to get it together --and it took until the last one to get me motivated.

    Have a fantastic weekend all!!

  • Count me in! I can loose my first ten pounds by my birthday, which is October 4, and I would like to be down 34 pounds (two pounds a week) by January 1.

I have already found a cool way to deal with my 3K calorie binge everynight. I know that is a ton of calories, but you should see all the crap I eat after supper and when I settle down to work.

I popped a HUGE bowel of popcorn, ten cups. I ate it, all. Okay that is HUGE I know but, at 10 calories a cup (I eat it plain) and 7 grams of fibre, I think I did great. 3K to 100 calories and I am stuffed and I don't feel like I am on a diet.

I am sure as time goes on this will not be a an issue but right now it is and I need to figure out how to deal with it now, until I can turn it into a non issue later.

    Kati
  • Well I have been on a 3 day "eat the worst foods you can get your hands on" diet and I feel terrible. I was hoping I could put a stop to it today, but I gave in and ordered fried chicken at a restaraunt today (with fries) instead of just a salad..My Fitday is looking pretty sad. Hopefully I will be so embarassed by the past three days of evidence that I can stop this train before it runs into certain disaster. I just needed to confess to help get me back on track. If I say it, then I am more likely to follow through. *whew*

I hope I haven't blown the whole month *sigh* I don't want to stall now! I am getting so excited about getting to my halfway point. I know the changes will start to be more noticeable soon!

Love you ladies! Have a wonderful day
  • Sunday...

I've been okay with my first two NS meals. Was even able to sit with DH while we watched one of "his" movies--he with his plate of nachos and me with my plate of baby carrots, grape tomatoes, and Tablespoon of ff dressing for dip.

The movie was really quite funny and I was happy without the 1200000 calorie nachos! And the dogs bothered him the whole time for scraps!

Since I'm on my once a month night shift work weekend, I've done no exercise yesterday--it's all I can do to get to work and get a little sleep during the day--tomorrow I'll get back on track. For now I'm making my posts and downing my water.

So thanks for the welcome and letting me "walk a few pounds" with you!

  • So my bad eating has caught up with me for the week. I am back up 3 lbs. So what am I going to do?

    1. Water, Water and more water
    2. Exercise (Mon pilates/stretching, Tues. 3 mile run, Wed 2mile, Thurs 3 miles & weights, Friday rest)

I will be out of town on business so I will be limited to only the food that's in front of me. I will order healthy choices such as salads, fish and lean meats. Additionally, I will be in meetings all day so there are no opportunities for snacks except for that which I bring with me. Only fruit and protein bars.

So there's my confession and the plan for correction. I must say in all fairness it was my birthday on Thursday which had to be celebrated. I had a special lunch on Thursday and my husband took me to Ruth Chris for dinner last night. I was good at first I had salad and the Sea Bass. It was the complimentary brownie dessert and the champane that did me in. Oh well. No birthdays this week to use as an excuse.

Oh yeah..... went back to weigh in at the weight loss center after 2 month hiatus. Was a very humbling experience since they had my chart right there. They were able to see how far I have been. I was actually up 10 lbs from the last time I was there. Boy, I really have to stop this train. My counsellor said "you appear to be wound a little tight. Is everything ok?" I guess this could be a little insight into my problem. STRESS! I'm not even really sure what I am stressed about. All I know is that I need to do something about it. You guys should have seen me trying to get dress for dinner last night. I had to try on at least 4 outfits before I found one that wasn't too tight.

Enough of the quvetching. This is my issue and I must face it now before I put the full 79lbs back on. 20lbs should be nothing if I consider where I have been. So thanks to you all for reading this post. I apologize for the length and the rant. I will try and post sometime this week to let y'all know how the week is going. Otherwise have a good week.
  • I just got from the store where I bought some jeans. Some size 5 jeans! I actually fit a 4 as well but it gave me a tiny bit of a muffin top. I figure that means that once I reach my goal i'll be a 4! I've never been a 4 in my life ever! I've actually been a size 5 for like a total of 5 minutes once before, so this was a pleasant surprise today to say the least. I'm so excited! I still have alot of toning to do with my body, and a good 5-10 pounds to lose but man i almost started bawling in the dressing room. I grabbed a bunch of size 7's and one 5 as I entered the fitting room I turned to my b/f and said "these 5 are my keep wishing ones". I was doing a winner dance when I came out with the 5's fitting. It was the b/f that grabbed the 4 cause he thought the 5s might even be too big. I just wanted to share my joy. Especially since I was bad last night and ate two pieces of hawaiian pizza along with an entire large size reduced fat pringles AND 10 bbq wings. :S. TOM's just waiting to appear around the corner, and i'm hoping tomorrows weigh-in isn't too affected by the cheating, TOM and whatnot. But I'm off to the grocery store to pick up this weeks veggies! Hope everyone is having an excellent weekend!
  • Still on board here, shifting around to daylight hours...

rwlschic--you hang on! Enjoy that birthday dinner but remember you want to be even thinner on NEXT year's birthday! Rootin' for ya!

sockmonkey--jump off that train! I'm nowhere near a halfway mark, but I know you've put a LOT of hard work into getting there. Bring on the water! Take a stroll! Stay with it!

sno--I had this visual image of you roaring down the road in a Porsche with stacks of NS packets in the back and string cheese in the glove compartment. Completely ignoring the Drive Thrus of course!

kati--my 2 little dogs once planned and executed a perfect heist of a bushel of popcorn that I had just prepared for an evening in front of the tube. One created a distraction in the kitchen and, when I got back to the couch, the littler one was IN the bowl of popcorn with a mouthful! I see you have a dog in your avatar--don't turn yer back on 'em!

elegant--you get me to wondering about my own final goal weight. I may have to reevaluate when I finally get there.

    A lovely evening to all!

  • Hi all!

just a quick check in on a busy sunday. I am stoked because I lost 3 lbs so far this week! My inches havent budges in a few weeks but its funny that some things fit better--so maybe they are moving where I am not weighing!

Kati: and I think the more creative we can be with our eating patterns the better--you save 2900 calories--that is almost a pound right there (isnt a pound 3600 cals?) Good to have you on board. Let us know what your plan is for your weight loss.

Mary: good for you--I know keeping posting keeps me honest and gets me back on track--and stating my goals is also useful. Like why you want to lose the weight. Try large print. You can do it girl. Three days is nothing to recover from, you can do it!

Cuppa: lets face it--food is everywhere, right? Food at work at the mall, drive-ins everywhere, fantastic bakeries restaurants. So having your hubby eat rich foods next to you will help strengthen your resolve. Thats how I try to look at it. I am working to enjoy the smell of good food and disconnecting it with the desire to eat. I still have problems if there are too many food commercials, my stomach gets that growly feeling. So I just look away until my show is back on. If I am having a bad night and the smell of my hubby's food is driving me crazy I will leave the room or ask him not to eat it next to me. The most important thing is just to stick to the plan.

rswlchic: bravo for posting when you feel you havent done well. I think posting goals helps a lot, as well as posting why you want to lose. Also, realizing you have stress helps too. Stress is terrible for weight loss. I am very impressed by all the weight you have lost so far--how did you do that?

elegant: I am just smiling while reading your post--size 4 woman!! you have done it!! That must feel so good. Your BF sounds really nice. Isnt it fun to celebrate success with new clothes rather than eating or partying?

have a great weekend and hope to hear from you all tomorrow!

    Sno

  • Snow: That is awesome that you have lost 3lbs so far this week! You are such an inspiration! You will definetly meet your goals this time around!

to all of the new people that have joined. I look forward to getting to know you all better and see what we all accomplish at the end!

I am still getting over this strep throat, I feel it has really set me back. I have not exercised much over the past week. I hope my weigh in tomorrow is still great! I would LOVE to see the 140's - even if it is 149.9.

I hope you all had a great weekend and have a fantastic weigh in tomorrow!
  • So many new folks, how exciting! Snow and Elegant, you are inspirations for us all. I really enjoy hearing about your progress.

I'm going to have to step up the pace to reach goal this month. I went way overboard on the Labor Day holiday and spent the rest of the week just getting back to where I was. I didn't gain anything, which is good, but the bad news is I have three weeks to lose 6 pounds. I'm determined to do it, though, because it will make it very hard to get to the New Year goal if I have to do it all later.

Mary, I smiled when I heard about your fried chicken episode because that's about my favorite food of all. I'm glad you're still using FitDay - it's so easy to throw away all your progress because of one episode. Keep truckin!
  • I've been doing ok, but not great. Did a little bit of TOM snacking, and I just feel blah since I've been busy without time to really exercise. I know I've been doing some stuff, but my body is just sore and screaming for me to just WALK! Hopefully I'll have time today after taking my friend to the dr's.

I can't even weigh in because my scale isn't working. (My girls took a bath last night and got water ALL OVER the bathroom floor, so the scale needs a bit more time to dry out ROFLMAO) I feel like I'm still bloated from TOM, but my clothes are still fitting as they should, so hopefully it's not too much bad news.

I'm hoping I can get to the gym today, if not then DEFINATELY tomorrow...as long as I don't have jury duty.

    Sno, you are doing great!!!!

elegant: WooHoo!!! That is awesome! I love when I grab a pair of small jeans "just to see" and they end up fitting. (of course, for me, it's the 22s that fit LOL but that's just terrific for me at this point)

rswlchic: Hey, happy birthday!!!! Thursday was my b-day too Mine kinda got lost in the back to school shuffle around here, but that was ok this year

Kati- Great job finding a solution to your late nite munchies! I think that is terrific you were able to find a low cal snack that will fill that need right now. Sno's right, that is a HUGE savings, and that will add up to many pounds over the week! Fantastic!

Anyways, time to get the computer shut off so we can all get ready. I meant to just check my e-mail and the forums real quick before the kids woke up....now they are all up and I've taken like 10 times longer here than I meant to.

    Have a great day!!!
