  • Morning all,

Elegant congrats, you look awesome!!! Such determination is inspiring as is reading about everyone else.
Just have time to post quickly.
The weekend was a little shakey due to crazy but fun social schedule. Not doing a thing next weekend!!! My total lose for this challenge is 4 lbs now.
I cheated a little yesterday but more determined today.

    Have a great day all,

    Nina
  • Last week was not great. This week is a little better, ive signed up to one of those sites where you track everything your eating, its making me very accountable to what Im putting in my mouth thats for sure!! Im hoping for a loss this month, just got to keep at it!! Have a ball to go to on the 28th September, so Im hoping to have shed a couple of pounds by then.
  • Forgot to say how fantastic you look elegant!! Thank you for putting your pics up, truly motivational!! I think you look just perfect now, your so petite!! Thanks for sharing!
  • May I join too?
I am shooting for 20 by Christmas - so I am going to add another for New Years and go for 21 lbs by 2008, that will be more than enough challenge given the holidays !
  • Thanks everyone for the congrats. I'm at the point now where i'm trying to not be so pound obsessed and instead work hard at the toning/strength training. Pilates is my saviour! On days I just don't feel like doing much I pull out the pilates machine and do that. I always feel so good right after it. I'm also quite excited to have my Turbo Jam dvds arrive. All in good time...

Mothermavis- Welcome! 20 pounds in three months is totally doable! You'll find everyone in this thread very motivating, and you may become even more obsessed with this forum than the scale! (my obsession sadly is about equal). Are you following any specific plan or just starting a healthy lifestyle?

Snow- those measuring cups/bowls are an awesome creation. I have to get myself some of those. I see you're coming around the corner and heading to onederland. So exciting!

Helpmelose- Congrats on hitting 148. I know beating the 150's was the most difficult part of my weightloss. You're nearing the halfway mark to your goal. That's glorious!

Maintenance is scaring the heck out me. Now that i'm just working on the whole strength training aspect i'm scared of what happens once I do developed a toned body. I've done it before and gotten so comfortable with my new self that i'd just kind of put exercising on the backburner. Then slowly my eating habits went away. I'm going to work so hard at sticking to it this time. Fitting nice clothes and feeling confidant are much better than any chocolate bar or slice of pizza. A brisk walk can fight off feelings of anger or sadness just as well as any piece of pie or ice cream. I have to keep reminding myself. I know that this thread is going to be a big part of helping me stick to maintenance. I'm now at 131lbs, the lightest i've ever been. Last time I lost weight I managed to get down two 132-134 during maintenance. I'm prepared to go back up a couple of pounds once i've built more muscle. But hey, if the size remains the same and i'm still being healthy, that's fine by me!

I hope everyone has a tremendous thursday and are preparing themselves for whats to come this weekend. I'm going to a late night comedy show/gambling for my bf's birthday shindig on friday. I've made sex in a pan for everyone and i'm going to try my darndest not to have any, even thought it's by far my favourite dessert. I'm also going to try to not have any more than 2 alcoholic bevys. As for Saturday, it's ANOTHER night out. I'm going to see my friends band, and i've already decided that night i'm only allowed one drink as well. I'm taking this all into consideration and limiting my snacking throughout the day so that m y caloric intake remains in my range. (which is 1200-1250).
    Keep going everyone!
  • Elegant- I just went back and looked at your pictures, WOW! Good for you!!

Right now, I am just bouncing around the boards a little trying to see where I fit in. As for my plan, eating well and moving is about it for now!

I am logging everything that passes my lips in FitDay. I have also for the first time, discovered Exercise TV, right know I am just planning for it and seeing what's there, but I hope to be doing the videos by October 3rd. (Long story but legit, can't drive, can't anything until at least October 2nd, which is actually a blessing, otherwise I'd not have had time to read thru all these boards!) I also just got a new scale to keep me honest, great except my old one was kinder. I'm 10 lbs heavier than I thought.

Snow, I added the bowls to my Amazon wish list. I have been spending so much time on the internet this week, if I ordered right now I would be officially broke. Yesterday, I Christmas shopped most of the day online!

To all, looking forward to getting to know you, this looks like a wonderful supportive board, go us!
  • i just got a free week of unlimited yoga/ pilates classes. so it's a little easier to meet my yoga goal!

    Hi all:

I have a bad cold so I have not been posting much. However still did my walk and my leg exercises, abs and stretches. My doc said that I should exericise everyday except when I am too sick to get out of bed. That gives me no excuses! Dont have much energy tho--pretty much laid on my bed today.

to mothermavis! Nice to have another enthusiastic member here.
tee hee--I am glad you liked the bowls! I use them all the time. As for your exercise you are doing great! Just remember to increase slowly. So many people (like me) get injured by exercising too hard.

Nina: :congrats: losing 4 lbs already and not totally on plan--you are doing great! Keep it up.

helpmelose: howzit going with giving up sugar free stuff? I should talk--I have been sucking on sugar free cough drops all day. . .

PP: good to hear from you--just keep posting it helps build motivation

Elegant--yep onderland calls--I cant wait--glad you like the bowls. I am really glad you are planning to use this group to handle maintenance. I know exactly what you mean--one slip leads to another and before you know it you are wishing you didnt throw out your fat clothes. I am preparing to keep it all conscious and not slip this time. I have to make weight maintenance a lifestyle. Megs posts are so inspiring on the maintenance forum.

dcapulet: nice to get a free week of pilates. I have a bunch of tapes but I got tired of doing it.

    Have a wonderful friday all!

    Sno
  • whoot! another pound down this morning! Now I have lost 58 total lbs and have 40 to go. 5 to go for onederland--it will be close!
  • Snow: I actually have been doing really really well with the sugar free stuff. I have none in the house so that makes it A LOT easier and when I go shopping I don't even walk towards the sf candy, I am staying far far away for the time being!

Elegant- Yeah the 150's were tough, I hope the 140's won't be too bad.

I am looking forward to this next weigh-in. Hopefully there will be a loss for me.

    Mothermavis:
  • Hey all,

It's been a busy week. I was in Philly but I was pretty good. I am down 1 3/4 lbs. It's nice to see the scales going down again.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
  • Cool Sno, that means that we're the same weight right now. I haven't lost anything since starting the challenge, but I have only really been 100% OP this week.

I'm feeling good to be back on, am drinking my water and realizing again how much I really love to eat all these healthy foods...it's so easy to fall into the fast food lie that it's quick and easy, but in the end you feel like crap. The reality is that if I plan ahead I can eat at home (healthily) almost as easily and I feel terrific and am not just eating mindlessly so as not to pay too much attention to the horrible fast food. I think about what I'm putting in my mouth and my body. BIG difference. I'm excited to go and get my measurements done tomorrow (I've been putting it off). The last time I had my measurements done was at the end of June so I think I'm down about 10 pounds and a few inches since then. I've been to my Curves twice this week and tomorrow will be 3 times so I've even stayed on plan as far as moving goes. I've been looking at the Yoga Booty Ballet and might buy the set. Anyone here used it? It was reviewed on the 3FC homepage and looks good. Anyhow I'll WI on Monday. Everyone is doing fantastic!!!

  • Happy Sunday!!
Just got home from church, skipped all the coffee hour goodies and just opted for an english muffin! So far so good.
Everyone sounds motivated. Let's keep it going.
Have a great day! I want to be all the way in the 150's by 10/1, that's only 2 lbs this week.

    Can do!!
  • Is it OK if I tweak my goals? I have had a bad month, and know that my timeline I had established is not doable anymore! I just hate to spend the next 14 weeks looking at goals I know I can't reach.

    Starting weight: 188
    New Goal:160

Here are my milestones I hope to accomplish:
    Halloween Goal: 176
    Thanksgiving Goal: 168 pounds

    Hope everyone is doing awesome!!!!
  • I'd like to join in. I'm new to this website, and mostly I've been hanging around with the other nursing mom's, but this sounds fun. I think I'm going to go conservative and hope to lose 7lbs by Halloween and 15 by New Years. Wow, now I'm going to close my eyes and imagine what it will be like to see me without those 15 lbs. That will get me to prepregnancy weight. I'm going to set a goal to walk 3x per week at 2 miles each walk. And to cut out the snacks.

    I'm pumped, lets do this!
