Hi everyone!

I've lost again! I'm down to 130.0 lbs. 5 more pounds to go. Actually, I think I might be going a *little* too fast for my dietitian's liking (at least according to the weekly weights I keep on my calendar). I lost 11 lbs. last month and she said it was too much. Since I saw her on the 7th of this month, I've already lost 8.5 pounds. Is that too fast or just right? I don't know.

My ankle is out of the brace as of yesterday! It feels so great! I do have to do some "at home physical therapy" though. It consists of balancing on the left foot (I sprained my left ankle) for thirty seconds at a time until I get up to 3 minutes for about 2 weeks. It's to strengthen my ankle. I wonder if this counts a strength training exercise, heehee I'll take any I can get!

I exercised over an hour, all before 6:00 a.m. My nephew came over at that time, and I have bad insomnia, so I had to get it in pretty early. I get up at 4 a.m. on a late day. And that's after tossing and turning. Plus my dad wakes up at 5 a.m. and I don't like to work out in front of other people for fear of looking stupid, so I get it in mostly before then too.

That's all for now! Thank you for listening! I will update my tickers now

Sounds like everyone is doing awesome!!!

I'm doing ok here... finally lost another lb.. so i'm at 143! Going sooo slow now though, so i've decided to kick up my protein, and stick to 1-2 servings of carbs a day, see if that helps a bit!

Mrs.Lovett... wish I was losing as fast as you again! I started out like that, but now am losing at a snails pace... blah!

WOW! Everone seems to be doing so great on their goals and I am glad I can join the group. Granted it has only been a few days but I have been counting my calories on a consistent basis, which has me making helathier choices. No one likes to write down "half a chocolate cake" in their journal...I took my little one for an hour walk yesterday. I have done my strength exercises everyday and 2x yesterday. I even fit some yoga into my routine this morning. I feel great and am excited to see the final results. I have lost 1 pound already! Hopefully I can stick to this and lose weight slowly in light of my little one still nursing!
Keep it up everyone!

Goals:
Count calories
Lose 5 lbs
Exercise consistently

Moralia, I'm feeling it, too. It's frustrating, but I'm fighting for every half pound these days. I've decided to try cutting my cals just a tad, like Lori did. If I skip the yogurt snack in the afternoon, that will be 100 cals, and I'm hoping that will help. I've already got a good hold on the carb portions other than that, so maybe just a little tweak will speed things up a bit, or at least keep the scale moving the right direction. I'm impatient now, to be done with the weight loss portion of this journey, and get on with maintenance.

David, congrats on the good eating, and the overtime at work!

I've had a good day so far. Did a fun workout at the gym, it was hard, but it was deadlifts, overhead and running (a longer run, though, not the evil sprints), so I really enjoyed that.

This afternoon, I'm working on a surprise gift for my trainer's boy who just turned 4. My trainer does strongman, and his son likes to do it too. I'm making him a little "strongman log" out of pvc pipe. If my idea works out, I'll paint it up, so it will look just like the real metal ones. Then, he can play strongman, and he'll think he's a beast! I'm just working on this in my spare time, so it will be a week or two before it's tested, painted, and ready for delivery. It's a fun project, at any rate.

Tonight is skating, just 2 hours. Thankfully, my legs and...er..."glutes" finally recovered from last Friday's lungefest, so I should be able to skate normally tonight!

Linds, you posted while I was still working on this post. WTG on the walking and tracking your intake!

Also, we had a new challenger join us, and I can't see the name right now, sorry, wrong viewing mode (my bad), but I wanted to say to the challenge!

Hi, all! Everyone's doing so well!

Cheryl & Moralia - I'm with you guys on the snail's pace weight loss. I lost 6 pounds quickly and then it slowed down big time. But, I'm determined not get discouraged - I've been down this weight loss road many times and know that it will come off eventually if I stay the course, right? I was down 1/2 a pound this morning and I'm hoping it sticks.

MrsLovett - Congrats on your loss ... you're doing great!

Lori - Sounds like you get a lot of exercise just keeping up with your kiddos!

linds - Congrats on your loss!

David - That's wonderful that you can get some O/T in these days. We can't have any where I work and it's a pain. Happy for you!

I'm sticking to my eating plan and getting my exercise in. Am up to 45 minutes daily on my treadmill at 3.5mph. Want to work up to 1 hour at 4mph.

I bought a neat calorie, fat and carb counter book and it includes fast-food chains and restaurants. I just wanted to have one to keep with me when I'm away from my laptop, and I don't have anything portable and electronic to use.

Saved up some calories for one margarita tonight and I'm looking forward to it!

Hey peeps.

Workout is done. We just had a play day at our gym, and practiced things we want to work on. I tried handstands again...still no luck on the kick-up to the wall, dangit! It's a confidence issue, but I'll keep trying. Did some pull-ups and olympic lifting and other stuff...it was fun and relaxing.

I'm home today, so I'm going to catch up on some work around here, maybe fiddle around with a project I'm working on in the garage, whatever. I'm just going to enjoy being home for a whole day, with no other obligations!

Congrats on the 200 posts David....it's amazing how quickly the post count grows once you get familiar with the people and get settled. It's like overnight you have hundreds of posts! haha

My left foot is really swollen today after two days of TONS of walking around multiple malls while my friend and I had a shopping extravaganza! However, I was stupid and didn't think to wear something more supportive than flip flops! So, my foot is still swollen. I walked with a friend this afternoon and rode the stationary bike, but have spent the rest of the day with my feet propped up so that hopefully some of the swelling will go down. It hasn't been at such an uncomfortable spot in awhile.

Chele - Hope your foot feels better soon! Keeping it elevated should help - would ice speed things up?

Cheryl - You have such fun at your gym! How's your project coming along?

David - Awesome that you had a night off from O/T. Have you earmarked your O/T money or are you just planning to save it?

I'm staying the course with calorie counting and walking on my treadmill. Would love to see the number of the scale nosedive, but I know that historically that doesn't happen for me ... it's more like a slow, painful crawl! LOL!

I'm hoping that this routine will become such a routine that my sluggish metabolism will finally surrender and the pounds will come off. How's that for optimism? LOL!

I did zumba tonight for the first time!! What fun! Hopefully that plus the yoga workshop last night will my weight loss moving again.

(I just coughed and realized the amount of ab work that I did the last 2 nights might cause some pain tomorrow.) But pain is good. It is weakness leaving the body right?

TexasLoser can you speed up the treadmill in intervals, or add some hills?

I'm hoping to add some difficulty to my treadmill as soon as I get past an annoying foot injury. I have a pinched nerve on the top of my foot and I'm on the mend but don't want to overdo it. So, for now, I'm just increasing the speed (rather than changing the incline). But, thanks for the idea - I can't wait to start making it much more challenging.

My goal is to get to 1 hour at 4mph. Right now, I'm at 3.7mph for 45 minutes.

I think you mentioned in another post that you swim in the ocean? Where do you swim? Sounds like a really neat form of exercise - and much more interesting than a pool.
