hi old friends and all newbies. I didn't make it through the last challenge because I've discovered I just cant do it in the summer, long story but with the kids and an unplanned trip to Ohio for my family, I couldn't make the weigh ins and missed too much in the chat thread. We are back to school schedule now though and as of Monday I will have my morning times and be able to check in here like I did the challenge before. You all were so motivational, I have missed this site. Honestly, I just felt if I couldn't give you all my best, why be here at all. Maybe wrong thinking, but I simply couldn't hang with the kids and our crazy summer schedule.

There's a bit of a bump up on my ticker from my trip to Ohio, but I expected that. I can't go home without falling apart yet, so I'm not planning to go back for awhile, until I can control the emotional uproar I go through that makes me binge the entire time I"m there. I have started journaling and it is really helping.

Okay, enough about me, just glad to be back.

Purple - I'm so glad to see you!

This morning, I discovered that the pollen counts are extremely high in my area. So, today I'll refill my meds, pick up some Zyrtec and be back to 100% in 2-3 days. I've been struggling to stay on-plan, but I've not given up. I'm on my way to Onederland!

Hope everyone has a great on-plan day.

I'm sorry. I know that must be tough. I'm not looking forward to it. Last night my HS'er (Freshmen) was telling me how his teacher told the class if they ever wanna to be anything, they must leave this area & go to college. I know this is true, but it made me so sad to think that my baby will be moving away from home in 4 yrs and prolly down to FL. I started crying thinking about it.

HEY future Teamies!

Less than a month away to the countdown for this challenge to begin. I'm finding that the challenge was actually motivating me more than I realized!

Between birthday week, extreme heat and other body issues this past week has been a bit rough on my diet plans but I'm hanging in there. I am sitting here even as I type this with a GIANT glass of water and as soon as I finish it I'm going out for a wog. It's been 2 days since I've exercised and I feel like a slug.

Congrats MJ on the loss, and HIYA Purple nice to see you back!

tkglenn hope you get some relief in the air conditioner situation...

OK, I'm off to get back on track and get a couple more lbs melted away before our first weigh in!!!

diva_ I have one in college right now. She is a senior and will grad in dec. She went an hour away to college. My son went an hour in the other direction to college. He graduated last Dec. My baby is staying home and going to community college even though she has to drive 30 min each way. She wants to be an RN and got a full ride scholorship to our community college. I am thankful she is home most of the time. At least she wont be bogged down with student loans to repay!!

Hey everyone...
The long weekend was amazing...just what I needed. We ate out the whole time, but I managed to stay the same. Whew! I passed my driving test, so everyone better watch out, I am now on the road! I am going back to the gym today and getting serious about my eating again. I really needed a break and these last 3 days, I finally got it.

I am hoping that I can give this weight loss thing a boost and get going again.

I have tons of work to do after missing yesterday, but I wanted to say hi to everyone!

Be back later!

Hi everyone. This is my first challenge and I'm very excited. I need friendship and motivation from others. Lately, I feel like a fat stay at home mom trapped in the house with 3 kids and no friends

Dora: aw, you say the nicest things.

modcat44: I'm a displaced Chicagoan that's now in California. Where do you live now, and where are you from in Illinois?

Rain Dancer: are you from Chicago, too or are you just a Cubs fan? I second and triple your "Go Cubs, go!" In fact, I'm gonna change my avatar now. And WHEN they win, I'll be getting a Cubbies tattoo. That's what I was thinking of getting on my arm anyway (read back a couple of posts). Oh, if only Harry Caray could see his Cubbies now. He'd be so proud!

Well, that's it for me today. Gotta run. Work beckons.

Have a smurferrific Tuesday one and all!

Pleased to report that I had to make a stop to fill out some paperwork for preschool. Afterwards I took the kids over to the playground. I took my stretchy band and practiced a mini workout. It will annoy me that I won't know how much I am lifting and will just have to trust that I am improving. They also have a short, I would guess 1/10th of a mile, paved trail to wog on. The best part is there was hardly anyone there and it was lunch time. I can only guess it will be even more quiet in the mornings. I will get in a workout.

I'm from the tip of the mitt. Go Tigers! (Isn't that funny??? LOL)

Hey you Illinoisians. I am from this state also. Although not a big baseball fan. I'm from Peoria area about 150 miles southwest of Chicago.

Things have been crazy nuts at work the past couple of days. The boss will be gone on Thursday and Friday so if I can just make it though tomorrow it'll be smooth sailing the rest of the week!!!

Be back later. Have a good night.

I went to school in Illinois! Sorry, just had to jump on the Midwest bandwagon. Not a Cubs fan (I grew up in Boston), but if the Red Sox don't make it this year (which I am not allowed to say ), I will be rooting for the Cubbies, because I feel your pain.

Sonja, the Cubs tattoo is an awesome idea! Everyone has been talking about goal tattoos, and I think that's such a cool idea, but I couldn't think of what to get. Something Red Sox-related would be awesome.

Good afternoon everyone!

I made a big batch of whole grain, blueberry pancakes last night, so I've got a yummy breakfast prepped for the week. Way better than what I've been grabbing on the way to work lately, and it used up the end of some blueberries before they went bad. I love this time of year with all the berries being at their best and cheapest!

zinkemomx2 - Way to go on the workout at the playground! Y'know, I seem to remember seeing playground workouts in one of the fitness mags - maybe Self or Fitness? - that involved things like push-ups, squats, etc. Might be a nice bit of variety for ya!

crazy4weightloss
- Welcome to the challenge! You'll find the folks around here are very friendly and motivating.

blueyedlvrgirl - Congrats on passing your driving test! Sounds like your long weekend was really refreshing, too.

Manick - How was the wog?

Rhonda
- Way to go with staying OP, girl! Also, god bless Zyrtec and all the other allergy medicines! There are times in the spring that I can only get out of bed with the promise of an Aerius waiting for me with my breakfast.

Purplefirefly - Welcome back! I skipped the last challenge because I felt the same way about not being here unless I could give my best. Glad we're both back and ready to get at it again!

MJ - Yahhooo! Congrats on being past halfway to goal!

Shay
and Dora - thanks for the encouragement!
