Cats--This was happening to me as well. What happened is once i walk through that door--it's all over for me. I'm done. If I'm lucky, I do a walk after dinner, but can't count on that. So I either work out before work, or go straight to the gym or pool right after.
Of course, this is not good if you don't belong to a gym. I know not everyone can afford one, or there isn't one close by. If there is--get one between work and home, or close to work. Try not to drive past home to get to gym--you will talk yourself out of going. If you work at home, I'd suggest to do your workout early, get it out of the way. That way, you won't be tired or get caught up in something, and lose the whole day.
I plan the night before, get my gym clothes ready to take with me, and of course, I can't make it every night. But I do more often than not.
I do not have little kids to worry about, if you do, I don't know what to do about that, except pick a gym with childcare? Then you have to get them and take with you.
Been awhile since I've posted on here... I am finally feeling better! I actually got to work out today and did 4 miles today. I may do some strength when I get off work, too. It feels great to be able to sweat..
Although I haven't been able to work out, I'm still in 170's which is great. Now that I'm moving again, hopefully : will be good to me
Eny: hang in there! You do probably need a challenge to motivate you--it's coming soon. Or join another one that's in progress?
Heather: Purple is right, start with a tiny, mini goal. One thing to change or not do. Do that for one week or so until it isn't hard. Then add another change. I know, it sounds easier than it is. Keep blogging, reading other's stories, etc.
Practice: Yeah, I had that same revelation recently. You'd think we'd know that bit of common sense, but we always want results yesterday, and continuous progress to boot. We have to convince our body that these changes we are making are going to last, so it might as well stop hanging on to all that weight and start letting it go.
Suite: Sweet lunch! (ha ha, me funny!) You make the whole meatless thing sound so good.
Blue: I just bet you have a big loss hiding somewhere there--that is so unusual.... You just got your DL? Yeah, don't take any Darvocets--I assume Motrin 800's doesn't cut it?
Andi, Zinke, etc.--Hmmm. The vampire porn sounds interesting. More hard core stuff than Christine Feehan, I suppose? I may have to check that out....
sorry i've been MIA...I started my accounting class this week. had class monday and yesterday i did the first chapter homework...well today we went over homework and finished chapter 1 and started chapter 2....so now i have to do chapter 2 homework and read chapter 1-2 before class next monday. plus next monday is when Abigail starts kindergarten...yikes! we meet her teacher tomorrow afternoon. hope her new teacher is better than last year's lol
been dealing with financial struggles and cleaning and selling what i possibly can...trying to sell hubby's boat so we can pay the loan off and we would at least be able to keep our head above water...but no luck yet on that.
so i tread water till then, all while getting abigail ready for school and me in school and homework, and alex to the sitter...plus taking care of teh house and dog, and laundry and the van...need my state inspection before august 30th, but trying to find the time to get it done...seems like i have sooooo much to do but not enough hours in the day to do them. what's a girl to do?!
hubby is top of his class, so far...and is supposed to be done and on his way home around sept 26, and the the first weekend of October they'll be heading to CA for training...so we'll have him home for just over a week before he leaves again for a month. so we should see him for a while for nov/dec. and hope his deployment gets moved back to a later time next year...there are rumors, but we're waiting to see...never believe a rumor till it actually comes true...or not. lol
anyway...gotta get some sleep. we're in 'training' on waking up early for school next week so we can get a good routine down on when we each get up and ready and have breakfast and leave to get her to school then home for my workout, then mon/wed after my workout, alex goes to the sitter while i have class...then after class i get him and them p/u abigail. it's a never ending cycle...omg?! what am i doing?! lol

well, we found out whats wrong with our ac......the fan in the upstairs unit blew out and the wires are burnt. We thought we were gonna have to replace the whole thing but we don't. It's a good thing because we literally dont have the money for it. But now our vacuum is broken. it totally doesn't turn on.
tk: I don't know about you, but I'd MUCH rather have a working A/C than a vacuum. Maybe you can borrow a neighbor's once/week for awhile. But the A/C--gotta fix it. Sounds like not as huge a repair bill as you first thought--whew!
Cats- I am the same way. I think it about exercising all the time and then I say I will do it later but then I dont feel like it. I hate that. It really seems like it isnt that hard but it sure is.
Modcat- Yeah, its a good idea. Someone else told me before to either focus on eating better or exercising first and then combine. I think this site is really inspiring me though, some of the Goal pictures are AMAZING.
Andi, Zinke, etc.--Hmmm. The vampire porn sounds interesting. More hard core stuff than Christine Feehan, I suppose? I may have to check that out....
It started out with JR Ward. I think they are all reading Stephanie Meyer now though.

Glad it wasn't nearly as serious as you originally thought. I don't know what I would do without my vacuum though either. Two 4 year olds are serious mess makers.

Here is my page. Its a time line that we all post to and you can reply kind of like the forum but much faster paced. Just one more thing to get addicted to, lol.
I'm still here, but getting ready to go to the coast to see Credence Clearwaterat the casino. Today, I put more of the cabinets together and did a lot of my nursing paperwork (so I can get paid!!!). 30 minutes on the elliptical then upstairs to pack clothes and food. Should be a nice get-away though it has been misty on and off here (Oregon).
Good reminder about how long it took to get in this (?) shape. We are definitely in the process of retraining our bodies - they'll believe it when we stick to it for longer than a month! (Remember 21 days to a new habit).
I have seen 213.4 but went back to 214.0 so I won't count it till it's consistent. Still striving for 210 before the challenge, but this weekend I know there's a buffet included somewhere and not being near my elliptical won't help either. I do take my computer and WATP DVD so at least an hour a day will be good. I'm also planning on mostly soy shakes and bio-protein bars while away - an easier way to keep track while away from home. I really like being here at home - the routine is so much easier to keep up with. Can't have my Credence and routine too, I guess.
Howdy all~
HELP!!! I'm so not motivated to workout! I do one day and then that's it. I have been busy in the mornings and say oh I'll do it tonight, uh huh and when that rolls around I'm to tired. I know if I actually did do the 10 minute rule I'd keep going but I can't even get to the 10 minute rule.
Someone clue me in on the Plurk thing, please. I love my vampires! I just started The Harlequin by Laurell K. Hamilton.
Well I'm off to bed, I think that's my other problem, staying up waaay too late then getting up with dh in the mornings, which is averaging 4-5hrs of sleep. last week I was staying up watching the olympic softball games, which came on at midnight here. Now I'm just staying up. Okay enough of my whining. I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow.
Cat, my Plurk page is in my signature. You have to go and make yourself an account. The easiest is to use your 3FC name so we know who you are. Go to my page after you make an account and click on my friends list, click their names and then start requesting to add peeps. Or go to Mel's. her friends list is longer than mine. The more friends you have the more Plurks (Posts) you'll be able to see and respond to. When I first went, I thought it was dumb, but now I am totally addicted. lol! When someone posts a plurk, if you click on it, a drop down box will appear so you can respond and read all the responses. Hope this helps! It's a good way to keep off topic discussion off the 3FC's boards too.
I'm back I'm back...and so behind on the thread. I've been in training all this week and did not get much time to chat or do much else except during break times. We were only 3 people in the class so kind of hard to look inconspicuous But training is over for the time being and I'm back to work.
How is everyone doing? I bet looking forward to the next challenge. Me too!!! I saw the commercial for the BL Challenge last night on TV and I think it'll be interesting to see families working together. I've never seen an entire season of BL before but I might do it this season.
On a good note, I'm still going on a downward trend with WL and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it continues that way I'm seriously trying to get back to my workout routine and this has been the hardest part for me. I did my treadmill last night after about 2 1/2 weeks of hiatus or call it lazy a** me. It felt good. I'm eating OP and staying well within my calories and getting some form of exercise in there.
Well I hope everyone has a wonderful OP day and please drink plenty of water!!
Popping in for a second just to let everyone know that I'm still around and reading the thread. I've been taking my allergy medicines for a couple of days now and I think I see light at the end of this tunnel. "Frank" and I joined the fitness center yesterday. I'm hoping we can start working out by tomorrow at the latest. Today is dental visit time for the two of us. I've not been in a couple of years and I'm very nervous!
I've not been on the scales this week. I really don't want to look.
mod - I am in a few other challenges too. They are helping, and my girls are INCREDIBLE! I just know that weighing in every week, and having a Team to help will motivate me, rather than just achieving personal goals. I'm still stuck between the same #3 that I've been wavering at for over a month - but luckily I'm not going above them back into the #190s! !
Here's the plan:
1200-1500 cals/day (doing good with this one)
Min 80 oz H2O/day (need to work on this one)
Workout Min of 20 mins/day (need to get back into this one)
Increase Fruits & Veggies
Decrease Soda & Sodium (REALLY need to do this one)
I'll get there - I've written a to-do list for today which will help a ton. I did it for work, home and scheduled some personal time in... I'll keep you all posted on how things are going.
Tara - i'm also excited about other Michiganders floating about! Maybe we should have a Michigander luncheon! How close to Detroit are you? I'm about an hour north (in Grand Blanc)
