Yes, I think it's a great idea! Are we going to set it for a goal date of Easter? Or will this be a challenge that runs through the course of the entire TBL Challenge?

rainlips did you get much snow? everything was closed here for two days, one for snow, then we got ice. yuck, I am ready for warm weather!

chiquita I do that too I am pretty bad in my car- I get some looks lol!

soul bliss i love the out of box challenge. sounds great! a good website to get serving sizes and what not is www.mypyramid.gov it actually is a great site with loads of info on it.

tamaralynn my exercised suffered this week as well becuase of the weather- I don't walk but getting to the gym was another problem all in itself.

NoVa I too am scale obssessed. I put it in the basement, I refuse to weigh in after I eat in the AM, so by the time I think about it I already had coffee or ate so it is too late. It has been working for about a week!

Diva, glad you are back and rarin' to go!!!

My daughter and I loved to sing along with "SexyBack", especially the falsetto. I actually took her to that concert. It was great.

I met my goals for the last challenge (Thanks Diva) but didn't post enough. Sigh. I am working on that!

Next challenge, I think we should keep to the basics from Diva's challenge (maintain the good habits etc.) and also do the following:

Focus on Whole Foods, Fruits and Vegetables!

How's this sound?:

Do 2 or more of these things daily:

Try a new vegetable or fruit.

Eat 6 or more servings of fruit or vegetables a day. (A serving is 1/2 cup cooked or 1 cup raw in general but I will post with more specificity later).

Eat 2 servings of raw fruits or vegetables daily.

Eat only whole foods for a meal or more a day.

Post here about a new find, something you tried but were scared to before, something you never heard of, something you love and want us to love too and so on.

How does that sound? I think, I mean I KNOW it is doable! It's flexible, so we can try out 2 or more different things daily and not stress or feel pressured. I want us to have every reason to succeed and none to give up or feel guilty!

Let me know what y'all think and maybe we can start on Monday? Whatever everyone thinks is best, we'll do.
I'm skiiping ahead so I might have missed something, gotta go back after this cuz I don't wanna miss nuffin, lol!

I think this sounds awesome and I shall do my best, but we are poor and sometimes I can't always fit in the healthy stuff I need and I have to eat In moderation what everyone else eats. That being said, we are incorperating more fruits and veggies onto the grocery list and my son is eating LOTS more fruits and veggies right along with me.

Can this last until Easter (Like an Easter challenge) and also, soemone else said we should say something positive about ourselves everyday, I think that is an outstanding, OOPS, Sorry Julz, I mean, and AWESOME thing for us to do.

Maybe we can all recipe swap. Good job!

I ate too much tonight. Pot roast and chocolate fondue with a raspberry dessert wine. Yikes! It was only one night... It was only one night... It was only one night... Moving on...

Dream: Prince rocks!
OMG! And you didn't invite me over? Tisk tisk....

Thank goodness it is friday!!!!! What a long week! I dont have to go back to work till tue. YEA!!!!
Ok I am off to walk...Maybe I will do 3 or 4 miles this morning. I will come back later and to personals. Ta Ta for now

I just love all the LOVE coming from this group!! Warm fuzzies everywhere!!

NoVaVTFan: I was glad to read your post and see you lose some and then have a period of staying at the same weight and then start losing again. That's what my body does, too. It's frustrating. I weigh every day because it keeps me on track. If I eat too much salt, it shows immediately. I need that little slap from the scale to keep me in line. lol.

I forgot the name of the girl who sings!! (I focus on pictures rather than names!!) You are FUNNY!!!

Diva - I'm so glad you're back. You are just a laugh riot!!

My father invited himself to dinner last night. Apparently he doesn't have a girlfriend. If there is anything "better going on" he doesn't come to my place. He stresses me out and I drank too much wine but I'm still within my points. Just deeper into my flex points than I like to be.

You guys all posted great ideas for songs. I've got a list here I'm going to download and burn a super long, super fun workout CD. THANKS! I need Sexy Back. I totally forgot about all the fun Prince & ZZ Top songs.

I'm making couscous salad today. I use chicken broth when I make it instead of water and then add scallions, tomatoes, cucumber and sometimes cilantro if I have it on hand. I make a dressing with lemon juice and a little bit of olive oil. It's very fresh tasting and delicious.

Soulbliss: Very cool challenge. I tried Quinoa a few weeks ago but prefer brown basmati rice. I'd like to try farro but I can't find it in a store.

That's all for me. Kids have today and Monday off school so I'll be on parental duty!!

Good Morning Everyone!!! Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day. DBF took me out for dinner last night and I did OK. Had salmon, 1/2 baked potato, salad and 1 dinner roll. Not bad considering I was eyeing the dessert cart and ready to pounce at a moment's notice!!

Soul - I am definitely in the "Out of the Box" challenge. This will force me to start cooking and trying different things. DBF is very funny about trying new things but I told him that if what he wants isn't in my eating plan, he can fix it himself. I refuse to prepare 2 different meals. I did make some bulgur and vegetables a couple of weeks ago and put in grilled chicken chunks and it was really wonderful. That is something I've never tried before (bulgur) and I was quite surprised that I liked it.

Diva - I am going to check out your c25k thread and see what it's all about.

Just got the call that the eliptical will be delivered this Thursday afternoon. I am so excited. I will have to remember that it's been a while since I worked out on one so I should take it slow and easy for the first few days or so. I don't want to get so sore that I can hardly walk!!!

As for singing while working out or in the car - I get some pretty strange looks at times. But that still doesn't stop me from doing it. I will never learn. I'm off today thru Monday so will be checking in periodically throughout the weekend. Unless, of course, DD has that baby I'm so impatient for!!

Just got home from the GYM. I finished day 3, week 1 of the c25k. Doesn't really mean anything though since I am repeating it next week, lol! But I do feel good and for some reson thinner, even tho I know I'm not, lol! I forgot tto add that I have some Go-go's songs and That No Doubt girl songs too. that holla back girl or whatever it is lol! We got the beat! I think I must have accidently sang out loud a couple of times cuz peeps kept looking at me, and I got TOTALLY distracted by some fine *** muscle bound dude lifting weights! I think HE got me all hot and sweaty! LOL!

Matt has today and Monday off school too! THANK GOD! Four glorious, worry free days! YESSSS!!!!!

HEY! Pat Benatar is on The Young & The restless! I used to worship that woman!!!

Good afternoon team!

Vday was great... hope everyone had a splendid one as well! I did have a fair bit of chocolate and stuff but I did practice control, so I feel fine! I WI today and I was the same as what I was on Wednesday so hopefully working out hardcore this weekend will do the trick and make me go down down down!

I have a question... how does everyone deal with plateaus?? I think it's because I HAVE been working out a lot, but I can't seem to make the scale move! Over the past 2 weeks I have been stalling big time. I want to say that I'm losing inches and not so much pounds right now, but I'm not sure. I will get measured on Monday, so I will let you all know!

ceegee- I didn't know much about Winehouse other than she was all over the tabloids and this and that... then I saw an unplugged version of Rehab on yahoo and I went out and bought the CD the next day. I kind of ignore her personal life now because I like the music so much that I don't want to ruin it. I do hope she gets better though.

rainlips- I go to school at night and online. I work at 6am everyday and don't get out of school until 10pm! It's pretty tough but such is life!

SoulBliss- "Out of the Box" sounds like a great name. I've got to go to the store and get some new foods.

Novavtfan- I obssessed with the scale too. I weigh in sometimes more than twice a day to see how I'm doing.

Diva- Congrats on getting you c25k in again. It sounds like your on a row now.

I had a good loss for the black team this week 4.2!

Hello every one, Between plows getting stuck in our drive way and cleaning off the roof and walk ways I've not had much time to play on the puter. I'm so tired and have had a rough day , though it all I managed to stay OP.
I like the new challenge , there are a lot of fruits and veggies I can not eat may be I'll find a few new ones that I can eat . I have IBS and any thing can bloat me up and make me look 9 pregnant even water some times.
hsmomx2-yeah way to go on the 4 lbs.
michie - I also seem to being losing the inches not so much the pounds I bought a size 16 jeans yesterday and they fit was surprised and I tried on a size 14 jacket that was too big made my day.
Rainlips- 3 miles way to go ,after shoveling all that snow I feel like ran 20 miles.
Diva- What an inspiration you are , thanks for your insight and wisdom.
chiquita623- When your daughter due , mine is due any day now can not wait we do know it is a girl, a baby is exciting .
ggmugsy- I weigh every day also and too much salt can make my scale mis behave I try very hard to watch my salt intake but it seems no matter you eat there is salt.
Catibeans- We also had more snow any more and we won't be able to see out windows , it will be nice to see some color come spring besides white.
Londonjules- My DD worked at Macys and she was forced to get done her BF worked there too, she broke up with him and started seeing another employee
she had no idea the he was seeing the manager it was a weird triangle the manager got mad and claimed my daughter wasn't doing her job right she told my DD she should find another job my DD refused and they made her life a living night mare it wasn't her fault that she did not have a clue that her BF was sleeping with the manager. The BF was loser any ways he dumped my daughter I'm glad because I don't think it would of worked out.My DD works for Subway now and is married and we are expecting a baby so in the long run she's better off now. Our Macy's is 120 miles south of us I never get there seems to me they are expensive .I think it's awful what they did to you.
Navavtfan-I hear ya one the scales I've never met a nice scale my weight goes up and down like a yo-yo last week I gained 2 pounds lost 1 this week and gained one so frustrating but we will get to our goals .
Hope every one had a great Friday . Sorry if I missed any one keep going it will happen. Rena
