Good morning ladies~ Well I'm happy to report that yesterday was a 100% perfect day eating, exercise, and water wise for me! That is a first in a long time:) It feels great. I think making that phone call for the OA meeting really set my mind at ease. Just knowing that I'm going to get the help I need. I woke up feeling great this morning and did a nice 20 min. stretch video. Today I'm helping out at the school book fair. Today is my gym day. I've planned M-Wed-Fri home strength training days and Tues-Thurs-Sat gym cardio days...Sunday OFF!LOL! That's about all that's going on with me though.
Melissa- I'm really proud of you for not giving up on C25k just modifying it to work for you. Keep it up girl. I hope you were able to come to a decision on TBL....that's a tough one. Danielle- I'm still in dream land at 4:30 am...God love ya! Ahhh a down comforter. Those things are like a little piece of heaven. We had one in our hotel room in San Diego along with down pillows...I didn't want to leave the bed:) Melissa73- Let's see your on vacation, you went shopping, you ran like a rockstar yesterday...your living the life girl!LOL! Keep it up:) Laura- I'm with ya...I'm a number person all the way Tera- Great job on getting that walk in...hope your daughter has a great trip Andi- These gals seem to love to C25k, so I'm sure you'll do great. Have a wonderful day everyone~ |
TINA: Great job on staying 100% on yesterday! Keep up the good work. Also, great job getting a planned schedule for your workouts. I plan mine as well and try to stick to it as closely as possible. cardio and weights Mon, Wed, Fri , 2 hour cardio with biggest loser on Tuesdays and cardio on Thursdays and if I can't workout on the weekends I dont' worry about it. If I can it's a plus, if not, it's my break! I can get used to this vacation stuff! LOL....now I can't wait until summer! :D
|
Good Morning everyone!! I'm doing the running behind game so I'll just have to be back later to catch up. Just wanted to wish everyone a Fantastic OP day!!
|
Last chance workout for during the show!! You can either:
1) workout while you watch the show in a matter of your choosing and/or 2) a - do as many squats as you can for an entire commercial break then b - shoulder press for as long as you can during a commercial break then c - plank pose for as long as you can hold it during a commercial break! And then make sure you come tell your team how great you did!! Good luck! |
Girlygirl: That is great. I still really don’t know. I sprung it on my husband, with the idea that I would do it myself. I have always wanted to do this kind of stuff with my family, and I never thought that he would want to do this. He said, yeah I’ll do it. Well, this floored me. He even said he will train with me. I don’t know how he will fit this in, but it would give us a lot of quality time in together, which after three kids, we really need. Then I told him about the $2,200/person. He said I had him until that. Then about an hour later, he said if I really want to do it, he would do it with me. So, now I am torn. I’ll keep you updated.
Scenestealer: You’re always such an inspiration. HuneB: Thanks for the info. About the fundraising. You guys are making it hard to say no. I may have to go out and buy myself a hula. I used to have one, but my son bent it. Melissa73: Congrats on your running. Andi18: Great job on your decision. My only advise is to believe in yourself. Tina30: I just wanted to say hi and good job staying on plan. Have fun at the book fair. Hello Terapet, SugarNSpice, |
Mom23BC-Hello...thanks it feels good to stay OP. Have a great day:)

Good Morning Ladies!
I'm so tired this morning. I'm not sure why. I think I could have used a few more hours of sleep! ;) Well, last night I decided to have a couple of pieces of that Valentine's candy at my second job. I'm not sure why I gave in, I just did. I had 3 pieces. The first one was a cheapy caramel (my fav) and it just wasn't very good at all. I then had 2 pieces of name brand candy. They weren't all that good either. I'm not sure if that is because I still had the bad taste in my mouth from the first one or if because I haven't had much sugar in the past 2 months, my tastes are changing. Anyhoo, I was not tempted to go back for more (which in the past I would have binged and had a couple dozen pieces). I did have quite a bit of water trying to get the taste out of my mouth. And with that water I ended getting my 64 oz in afterall. Okay, for the last 2 1/2 months, I have been getting up in the mornings to exercise (most mornings anyway). For a little background, my big dog LOVES to eat (just like her owner/mama!) and will whine for me to feed her at the crack of dawn. I try not to feed her too early so that she doesn't have too long to wait for her night meal. On the weekends I get up at 6:30 ish to feed her so that she'll shut up and let me sleep some more. Well, since I've been exercising in the mornings, I decided I would try to wait until after my workouts to feed her. I've done WATP for several months and she will lay on the couch until I'm done with no problems. This week I have switched things up and have been doing a toning dvd instead of cardio. On the toning dvd there are several times throughout the workout that I have to lay down to do my various exercises. My dog finds this too irresistible and has to come down to check it out. There's nothing like a dog in your face when you're struggling to do an exercise or to see the tv for guidance. :dizzy: No matter how often I try to explain to her that she is not a window, she just doesn't seem to get it! :D I may have to start kicking her out for my workouts although that would lead to excessive barking and probably waking the neighbors. Have a great day RED Team! |
Hey Red Team!
I'm so sorry I didn't get around to making a Week 4 Winners banner for you all last week. Things got crazy with me going out of town :dizzy: I'm making some banners after lunch so I'll make sure I make you all one! |

Hi Red Team -
I have been so inspired reading all of your posts. You are all doing great! This challenge has been great for me. I have tried new exercises, new foods and met a lot of new people. Hun E B - Thanks for the update on how everyone is doing. It was very motivational reading through all the losses. I hope there will be plenty more before this competition is over. Sorry I have been out of the loop lately and not posting as much as before. After a month of being in a coma, unfortunately my cousin has had a second brain hemorrhage and has taken a turn for the worse. We have all been at the hospital saying our final goodbyes. Very heartbreaking. I probably will not be around much for the next week or so. I am still going to try to stay on plan and get some exercise in but no guarantees. I just wanted to let you all know the update since you have been so supportive with your prayers and well wishes. I will check in later and in the mean time, keep up the good work. |
DK - I'm sorry to hear your cousin has taken a turn for the worse. I'll say a little prayer for you and your family for strength and comfort.
|
Rennie: That's funny about the chocolates, but hey, if you didn't like them and it saved you from a binge. That's a good thing!! Too cute about your dog getting in the middle of your workouts! Their just like kids!! LOL
DK: Sorry to hear about your cousin. Your family will be in my thoughtS! Andi: You're welcome! It's hard work but very rewarding! Can't wait to hear how you like it! Chellez: Thanks! |
DK- my thoughts and prayers are with you. I am so sorry to hear that your cousin has taken a turn for the worse.
|
Good morning teammates! I hope everyone has a great OP day!
DK--I'm so sorry to hear the bad news. My thought and prayers will be with you and your family. Tina--Great job on being 100% OP. That's fabulous. Karen--I know how you feel. I have to kick my kids and animal out of the room when I exercise with a DVD. Otherwise, they are either climbing on me or standing in front of the TV. Mom23BC--I'm so proud of you for seriously considering the Breast Cancer 3 day walk. My mom is a 2 time breast cancer survivor and my grandma is also a breast cancer survivor. |
HI Ladies!
So I had a huge loss last week and now I had a gain today. I am sooo bummed. I know I wasn't perfect during the weekend and that is the reason. But it is sooo frustrating. I apologize in advance. Hope you all have a perfect day. BF wants to go for sushi tonight so hopefully I can make some good choices... ugh! |
Good morning, or should I say afternoon. :) Well I had a great NSV last night and this morning. DH and I were going to get up at 5 am and work out. Well 5 am rolled around and we didn't do it. So we decided that we would work out last night instead. Well I sure didn't want to work out last night, but I made myself do it! I could feel it in my muscles, but I felt great afterwards. :) Then this morning I stopped at the grocery store and got DS a donut for this morning, well he's too little to eat the whole thing, so I had part of it. So I got on my tredmill and fast walked a mile. Figured I had to work it off. Now in the past I would have just sucked it up and dealt with the extra weight. Not today!!! YAY!!! Hope everyone has a great day! Off to a great start here. :)
DK~ I'm sorry to hear that your cousin has taken a turn for the worse, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. |

Hi everyone -
Spent the morning looking at swim classes and deciding what to do. It's kinda exciting. I think I'm either going to go for the Danskin Tri or there is a womans one in Naperville IL. If it goes well I'll look at the more challenging ones because I'd like to try an Olympic one. One step at a time though I guess eh? :) Scale was already down this week I'm a happy camper. |
I had a ridiculously light breakfast and lunch - 350 cals total for both. I am exhausted this afternoon, so when my manager said he was going to the smoothie place nearby, I asked him to pick me up a small Acai Energizer - 167 calories, so not really bad. However, he decided to be generous... and get me the large. I already drank half, which is the size of the small... but I am really struggling not to drink more!!! Grr... being generous is not good when I'm dieting.
|
Laura...it sounds to me like you are okay even if you drink the whole thing. Your calories for the day are pretty low. What you need to remember is that your body NEEDS fuel. You will not lose fat by not eating, what you'll do is make your body start burning its lean muscle tissue for fuel and hold onto any fat. By not giving your body what it needs just for basic function, what you do is make hormones in your body kick in and work against you. You lower your leptin levels and increase your ghrelin levels which make you feel hungry and lead to binges. So enjoy your smoothy, you've got room in your calories!
Muse...I'm so excited to hear about your triathalon! Congrats on the scale moving too. I'm not sure I could do a triathalon as I'm a doggie paddler when it comes to swimming LOL! Chellez...thanks for the banner! Sorry about the PM LOL, I did that before I saw you already got em for us! Kari....Way to go on getting those workouts done!! I'm with you once 5am rolls around there is NO WAY I'm getting out of bed to workout! Excellent work! |
Cecelia...congrats on being BL this week!! I hope we see you around here more often! I'm usually pretty bad on the weekends too, but thankfully we've got an entire week to get on the right track before our next scheduled deadline!
Jen... How's everything going? I hope you had an OP day too!! DK....I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. Your whole family will be in my thoughts and wishes for healing. Andi... How's it going?! Are you going to do C25K? Karen..thats so funny about your dog! Guess he just wants in on the action LOL! My dog insists on sitting right on your feet. She's got the entire floor to lay on but no its gotta be right where your feet are. Drives me nuts! LOL! Mom23BC...I think all the signs are pointing that you need to do this 3Day, I even saw a commercial for it last night and thought of you. I think that next year I might do one if they have it in Arizona again. Then I can go visit Danielle since she's coming to see me this year! Let us know what you decide! Tina...excellent job yesterday!!! I think you are right, sometimes just knowing we have support out there and that we are committing to something like OA, it helps us make good choices! |
Sheesh, cant believe how far behind I got on posts LOL!
Melissa....Yay Vacation!!! I so wanted to sleep in again this morning. Going back after a long weekend is hard! I am so incredibly impressed that you were able to move onto Week 4!! Way to go! I think I should have started Week 5 now...NO WAY! LOL! You are just rockin it and such an inspiration!! Keep up the GREAT work! Danielle...when you are ready to take that step towards exercise I know you will. maybe you just need to take babysteps. I just dont think its a good idea to do it if there is any anxiety or ill wishes about it, because then you wont stick to it. it'll come, I know it will! Excellent buys yesterday! I need a new duvet cover, ours is so heavy! So jealous of your shopping! LOL! Terapet...excellent job staying OP!! How long with dd be gone? |
Good Evening Ladies. It looks like it was another productive day around here, good to see your boo-t-ful faces. :)
DK, I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. Keeping you & your family in my prayers. Jen, wow you have some fighters in your family, don't you! I do not know anyone with breast cancer at all, I consider myself to be very lucky. Hope your day went well! Mom23BC, I'm excited to hear you talk about considering the 3day. I would love to do it and am definitely keeping it in the forefront of things on my list of "things to do". I'm hoping one of these years I can convince Melissa that YES she wants to do it with me. lol Like I told Jen above, I don't have or no anyone who has been afflicted with cancer but feel very inspired to do this walk for the many who do have it touch their lives. Tina, hope the bookfair was fun. I love helping out with that at my kids school. Down comforters are 'mandatory' in our house. ;) Melissa73, yeah 4:30 is not my cup 'o' tea either but I guess as parents we do what we gotta do, eh? It helps pays the bills and actually, I do have alot of fun with the ladies I work with so it's all good in the end. Hope you're enjoying that vacation! Kari, WTG on getting that workout in! Definitely making some positive changes in your life, go you! Cecilia, hope you enjoy dinner out with bf. I wouldn't worry too much about being up right now, the scale is an evil little thing, ain't he? Laura, got some great advice from Mel. I, for one, hope you sucked down that thing and enjoyed every last bit! :D Muse, cannot wait to hear what you decide to do, soooo exciting!!!! Karen, I had a good giggle reading about your doggy wanting to help ya workout! :D Too cute! Mel, hope today was another great OP day for ya! Yes, I wish you were here with me to shop for sure! Can you imagine the damage! :p I am LOVING my new bedding, it even made me smile when I came home this afternoon and I walked in and saw it. hee... I know what you mean about doing the exercise when I'm ready. My thinking lately is tho, and I question heavily is am I just making more excuses. KWIM? It needs to get done and some days it feels like I'm taking the easy route, if that makes sense. Ugh, just cut my head off will ya, too much thinking gets in the way! lol Alrighty, well I had hoped to be able to hang out a bit longer but DD is waiting patiently for the computer to do some homework, so guess I better scoot! Have a great evening and I hope everyone will take Mel up on the great challenge she's set up for us, I know I plan on it!!!! Yes, really! I can squat like the best of 'em. :D :D |
Holy poop, I missed weigh in. I was gone for a bit, and I totally forgot to put it in before I left. Sorry!
Scale says 197 today - not surprised as I didn't eat too well this weekend and I skipped 4 days of exercising - yes the girl who can't be held back from going o the gym took 4 days off. I paid for it big time today too. Everything was harder and I couldn't run for a crap. So I have learned my lesson. No more than 1 day off at a time! I am going to try to catch up tonight after the kids go to sleep but I missed you all!!! |
Whew, - I'm too far behind to do personals, but I did read everyone's posts. Sounds like most everyone is doing well - especially with exercise :D
Congrats Cecil! Way to go!!!! Let's win back that title this week! We CAN do it!!!!! |
I had half the smoothie, which was exactly the small I had wanted. I pushed it to the corner of my desk, filled my 24 oz water bottle, and told myself that I couldn't touch it till I drank my water and THEN decided I still wanted it. And - I didn't want it. I popped it into the freezer just in case it's still good tomorrow, but I don't have high hopes. For dinner, I skipped something fancy in favor of Boston Market. As much as people say fast food is bad, at least it provides the calorie info so I know what I'm eating! I got turkey, veggies, and squash, all of which clocked in at 370 calories.
Right now, I'm at 900 calories for the day. I'm going to be up late working, so I'll prob order a salad or fruit later. I aim for 1400 cals/day, but I zig zag them (not intentionally - more like one day I go out to a business dinner where there aren't healthy choices, so the next day I make an effort to eat on the lighter side). I think I'll be okay if I get about 1200 today because I ate a ton yesterday. I'm watching TBL right now while I work, and I have to say... I think it's kind of unfair to force your family to diet just because you are. Yes, you want your family to be healthy... but throwing away all the treats and telling your kids they will never be in the house again? If you're not trying to lose weight (and even if you ARE), a once-in-a-while treat is fine. Forbidding that stuff seems extreme to me, and also a bit selfish. What do you all think of that? |
I just shoulder pressed (9 pound dumbbells - one in each hand) through a commercial break. I had to switch to bicep curls in the middle for one commercial, but I was back to shoulder presses the rest of the time. I won't bore you with lots more posts, but I'm going to keep trying on the next break to go all the way through (today is my arms day and tomorrow is legs, so I don't want to do the squats today).

Cecil congrats on being biggest loser for the week!! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_75.gif I thought you might get a kick out of this...our school districts are closing school tomorrow due to extreme cold... it's supposed to be a high tomorrow of +9 with windchills of possible -20. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_19_1.gif I was talking to one of my friends that also grew up in MN and she was watching the same channel I was and saw the scroll come across, we both started yelling at the TV in disbelief that they are canceling school for this...dang, I remember walking to high school in -30 - -40 windchill. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_6.gif

Okay, I did my workout during the show. I went to Boot Camp tonight and worked out with http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_12.gif Marty! I got my hiney whipped into shape. He mixed up the workout tonight so did some different stuff than last time http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_7_9.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_5_126.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_5_121.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_5_122.gif, but started out with spinning http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_35_8.gif again so I'm sure my http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_11_2.gif will be sore as all get out tomorrow! It's got to start getting better sometime right?!
Oh and Yes, I am going to start the C25K program http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/18/18_3_110.gif but I am going to wait until next week, start out fresh day 1 on a Monday! |
I worked out for an hour during biggest loser show tonight. I usually do 2 hours of cardio but DS had a soccer game at 6pm 30 minutes away and then mom came with us and we went out to dinner at Chili's because it was late and we didn't want to cook. I made good choices, only ate half my chicken and rice and saved the rest for tomorrow. :carrot: Finished OP day 53!

Fellow Red girls I've lost my marbles.
I'm officially a Triathlete in training now. I'm signed up! Not only that but I signed up for the one that is more of a challenge distance wise. Like the one the do in the Olympics! I know I'm going to have to work my *** off for the next 6 months. What sold me on jumping in the deep end is apparently I have until July to switch it to the Sprint Division... so if I discover I just don't think I can make it I still will get to do the crazy big one I wanted to do. http://www.chicagotriathlon.com/ I'm also going to do one in June or July that is women only to gear up for the big one that will be a sprint distance. I haven't decided which one yet. So um... I give new meaning to watch me bloom! Eeeek! |
Roni, I agree with you as well. Couldn't believe that they were loading up on treats in front of him. However, I am such a people-pleaser that I think it goes both ways. The family should not have had treats in his face, but he also should not have gone around throwing them away and being radical about it. I would hope he's developed more willpower than that from TBL, especially since he's trying to win a contest! I think it should be easier for him than for people like us, who are trying to make positive changes in their life without an additional prize. He needs to learn a lesson from you :)
Congratulations Ideal!!! SO EXCITING! I've wanted to do a triathlon for a while but haven't yet gotten motivated enough to sign up. Keep us posted on your progress! |
Good morning everybody,
Just wanted to say thanks for all the support. The last couple of weeks have been stressful, not only did my cousin and one of my closest friends die within two days but that same week my neighbours brother died of a heartattack at 54 and my other friends brother of cancer....I mean when it rains it pours. Its funny I never thought I was a stress eater, but the last two weeks have proven me wrong...I think I tend to eat if I am depressed of sorrow. Well, I made up my mind yesterday driving to work...enough is enough! I need to take control and put myself back on track! I also realized how much you guys all motivate me and inspire me to go on, and for that I thank you all. I am back and will try, like before to chat each day and be part of such a wonderful group. I was OP all day yesterday, exercised as well. I am going to step it up as I can do this...we all can we deserve it! Have a great day ladies...talk to you soon. Ciao! Sara |

Okay, I'll be back after my exam that I am SO not prepared for! I hope everyone has a fantastic day!! Did everyone watch the show? Apparently there is a shot of our Danielle hugging Betty Sue!! Havent seen it yet, she just told me!
Have a wonderful OP day everyone! ~melissa |

Putting sweets and junk in front of an formally obese and overweight person is like putting it in front of a drug junkie. Willpower my butt. There's NO such thing. Ones family can choose what is more imoportant? having their daddy around and healthy or keeping the junk and possibly losing their father at an early age because PEOPLE ARE KILLING THEMSELVES WITH JUNK FOOD. It's as simple as that IMO. Junk is KILLING my Mother as we speak. |
Just a quick hello. Thanks for everyone's encouragement on the 3-day walk. I still am not sure. My mother-in-law is moving in with us this next week. Then in the next month and a half I have to find another place to live and move everyone. I just feel so much time constraints. What really makes me nervous is adding more to my plate (I would have to raise $4,400...because my husband would need the help). The training: But that would be fantastic for my physical and mental health. I know it sounds like I am making a lot of excuses. I am still praying about it. I would like to do it for several reasons. My mom was a breast cancer survivor (and cervical cancer survivor), and my mother-n-law is a two time survivor. She just went through her last chemo treatment 2 weeks ago. She is having surgery to remove the tumor next week, so please keep her in your prayers.
The other reason: The physical and mental benefits. 3rd reason: I would love to do something with my husband like this. Thanks again for the support, and I'll let you know. If I don't do this this year, maybe another year. Another option for me: I would love to get my entire family involved. So any ideas. Train to walk a certain amount of time on the Appalacian Trail (or something else)???? Any thoughts? Does anyone know if the trail could take a jogging stroller that is all terrain? |
Hi all~
I just wanted to pop in real quick. The boys finally went back to school this morning so I'm in between workouts. I just did Leslie's Heart Heathy walk on her site and now I'm heading downstairs for a workout with Bob, doing TBL cardio max. I'm sorry I've not been logging all my workout time in the vacation thread, I've been getting 60-90 minutes a day, let me know how far back I can go and I'll log it in. I'll come back here in a bit and log in today's workouts. I did a mini bootcamp on the Leslie site and did 22 miles Fri - Monday, plus some pushups and ab work. That's why I was just sooo bummed at my weight gain this week. I don't get it. Okay I just need to move on from that and just keep working out and staying OP! I'll be back later to get personal. :) |
Good morning ladies~ Just popping in for a quickie right now:) I have a busy day ahead of me. I have to clean today and finish taking down my Valentine decorations, and then I have to workout. I made the gym yesterday...YAY! I walked for 1 hr on the treadmill with intervals of incline. It felt like a good workout when I was done. I didn't want to push too hard yet though since I'm still coughing. So day 1 of the gym done. Today though is strength training at home. I'll do that once I get the kids on the bus. I've made dinner already for tonight since I won't be home. Tomorrow morning Kyle's teacher is coming for a home visit, so I need to make sure the house is in somewhat of order:) Tonight is my meeting. I'm not nervous yet, but I'm sure by the time this evening rolls around I will be. I'm ready to get the first meeting over with though. Food was good yesterday and exercise got done, but water could of been better. Will work on that today. Okay I'm off to get the little ones ready. I'll try to get back later for personals, but if I don't keep up the good work this week ladies:) Have a great day~
