Good afternoon ladies,
Well i'm doing very well today. I started my day off with abs and stretching (yay, I can finally get a point for that in the vacation thread.LOL). I'm not very hungry today and all i've had was cereal for breakfast and a lean cuisine margarita deep dish pizza for lunch (6pts) YUMMY!! I haven't had any snacks yet, but I planned for 2 clementines, a fiberone bar and some crackers with a skinny cow cheese! We'll see what I actually eat of it becuase i'm not craving anything yet, but i'm glad I brought and planned these healthy snacks because today is extended day at work today, so i'm stuck here until 4:45. UGH!!! So i'm really really bummed about this stupid debate and not biggest loser tonight. I NEED TBL to motivate me to do 2 hours of cardio. Without it, i'm sure I'll just do my usual 60-90 min. I already know who i'm voting for (Go Hillary) so the debate is a waste of my time and precious air time of TBL! Sorry, I know i'm not a very good American but I have my priorities...and TBL is one of them! :( Ho-Hum!!! What am I gonna do! |
Karen: I'm sure that not journaling has alot to do with it. But with your positive attitude you will have a great loss next time! Are you the one using the Beck's Diet Solution? I got the workbook this weekend and today i'm focusing on sitting down to eat. So far so good!
Scenestealer: I think that's a good idea. My mom does WW with me and what really works for her is to have a smart one (only 4pt ones) for lunch with salad and veggies and it keeps her full with very little calories. Then she eats whatever at dinner! Tina, that egg scramble sounds yummy! Thanks for sharing. Great job on your strength workout! YOu are doing great? Have you been back to your OA meeting? How is it going? Terapet: I love REd Robin. That is a huge danger zone! Great job on only eating half a burger. that shouldn't be too bad! "One Time, At Band Camp!" Sorry, I couldn't resist. did you see American Pie? LOL Shy: Wow, that sure is alot of windows. I'd hire someone. I HATE cleaning! LOL |
Mom: *kick* here's your kick you requested. I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday, and i'm a lover of chinese food too. But i'm glad your back on track today! Hopefully next weigh in will be better for you!
|
Recommit Survey 1. What is your eating plan of attack? I plan on following the WW 8 healthy guidelines, really concentrating on getting in all of my fruit and veggie servings and planning my meals! 2. What is your preferred method of exercise? I do several different things because if I do the same thing I get bored. I walk outside, go to the gym and do treadmill (c25k), bike and ellipticals, I do weight training and abs every day and when it's nice out I'll be riding my bike and hiking!! 3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? Staying perfectly on plan every day, getting my exercise for at least 5 days a week, AND I have consistently lost weight every single week! :carrot: 4. What is something you are still struggling with? Vegetables - but when I plan my meals for the day I usually do better with it, so i'm working on it! 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? I have a few goals....next Saturday my goal is to lose at least 2.2lbs so that I can get my 10% keychain AND my 25lb magnet. I have a St. Patrick's Day goal of being at 220lbs. I would also like my BMI out of the Obese range so that would make it 29.9 and then one of my next goals is go be in Onederland. I have a chart of all of my mini goals broken up into 10 different goals all the way to my final WW goal. I"m sooo determined. 6. Say something positive about yourself! I'm smart, pretty, talented and motivated. I can do this!! I have the willpower to succeed! |
Hello ladies! Well I have been busy this morning. Had to go to the post office and mail off some of my "fat" clothes to my girlfriend. I know the way it's worded sounds mean, but they are in really good condition and she can use them, and I don't ever plan on wearing them again! So until they are too big for her, at least some good will come out of them! :) Along with a few blouses that are just too big on me now too. Just got done ironing DH's slacks and shirts. I hate ironing...but he was out of fresh clothes, so guess it's gotta get done. Now I have to go unbury my dining room table from all the clutter. And have some filing to do too, not to mention try to balance my checkbook and pay a few bills...ICK! Hope everyone starts to feel better soon!!!

Oh yea, and not being lazy! 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? To change all the things I just listed in #4. I need to get a grip on things once again. When I focus, I do so well. Tina, maybe you could get her a kids cooking book instead of a play kitchen? I had this cookbook when I was little that was published by Better Homes and Gardens, and I'd guess it was aimed at 5 to 12 year olds. It told you in the book when you should get an adult for help. I think it was called the "Better Homes and Gardens Kids Cookbook." Definitely a good one.

1. What is your eating plan of attack?
I'm going to start looking at things one meal at a time, rather than cheating and then making up for it. I'm aiming for 400 cals/meal, plus snacks. I haven't been snacking recently, but now that I've discovered the grocery store across the street from the office, I can pick up some healthier things that will help keep me full throughout the day rather than eating larger meals. 2. What is your preferred method of exercise? Running, elliptical, light weight lifting. 3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? I'm now traveling 4 days/week for work, and I'm doing better than I thought I'd be able to do, especially with exercise. I've been doing a great job doing some kind of exercise every day, and my muscles are starting to look really toned. I've also been great about running even if I don't want to, and am feeling in good shape for that. 4. What is something you are still struggling with? For eating: if I had a little more willpower, I could do a LOT better. I've gone on several binges in the last few weeks, which I never would have done two months ago when I was losing steadily. I think I'm getting used to the plan and not seeing the end in sight, whereas at the beginning it was new and exciting. My original plan worked, so I don't want to stray too far from it, but I'd like to revamp it a little bit. For exercise: I've been doing a great job doing something every day, but it's really not enough - I need to be getting in a good WORKOUT not just a little bit of exercise. The hardest thing for me to do is get some good cardio in. It's easy for me to say "well I'll do 20 minutes of weights," because I don't necessarily get exhausted and out of breath from that, but it's harder to go run on the treadmill or the elliptical for 20 minutes during the week when I just want to sleep. 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? My results goal: I'd like to hit 124, which is just below my plateau weight of 125. Haven't been able to drop below that for a few years. Unfortunately, I seem to have taken a step back in the last two weeks, so I'm not sure if I can really get there by the end of the challenge. My daily goals: get at least 15 minutes of HARD cardio in every single day (i.e. stop counting walking on the treadmill as my workout for the day). Every little calorie counts, but I'm in good enough shape that just walking doesn't do that much for me. My other goal is to stay mostly on plan for eating, though I'm not sure how to define this. When I'm on the road, there are challenges every day and I can't necessarily have a "plan." So - just making myself proud with the choices I make from what the options I'm given. 6. Say something positive about yourself! I've gotten my project team to switch from Dunkin' Donuts afternoon latte runs to Robeks healthy smoothie runs. Small smoothies are only 150-200 cals (depending on flavor), and are full of vitamins and nutrients and NO artificial junk. They're also starting to consider the nutrition of other things they eat and drink, and are always asking me how they can make healthier choices. I'm really proud to have inspired them at least somewhat :) |
1. What is your eating plan of attack? Stay within my "to lose 2 pounds" target as much as possible (getting harder now and no longer obtainable on non-exercise days) so that means I HAVE to exercise 6 days a week.
2. What is your preferred method of exercise? Running or learning to... 3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? Keeping up with the exercise. 4. What is something you are still struggling with? Making better food choices are far as healthy vs. empty calorie 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? shift to better nutrition and whole food when possible. 6. Say something positive about yourself! Going on 10 months with this. Go me! |
Tina...thank you so much for your support! I cant tell you how much it means to me to have you in my corner cheering me on! I'm so glad that you are grasping OA with both hands and working it for all its worth, you'll turn that eating struggle around I know you will!
Melissa73...did you do the habits survey in the 8 healthful habits book? I forgot all about it until you just mentioned following them. Excellent job on the surveys everyone! Keep it up! We need to hear from our lurkers too! |

1. What is your eating plan of attack? To plan meals and eat at home (portions, portions, portions!) Mainly lean meats and veggies. Stay away from sugar, fast food, desserts. 2. What is your preferred method of exercise? running, t-tapp 3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? Did 7 weeks of C25K- I'm in shape enough now to run 20-25 minutes 4-5 times a week. 4. What is something you are still struggling with? Food. I just need to stay away from drive-thrus, donuts, etc. Once I start I have a hard time getting back on track. 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? To stay perfectly on plan. Run 4-5 times a week, start t-tapp again for toning, don't let one off day turn into 2- ever! Oh and 10 lbs would be great too! :D 6. Say something positive about yourself! I can do this. I deserve this. |
OMG Emily that is FANTASTIC!!! I'm so impressed! The fact that you can get to week 7 of C25K says so much about your strength and determination! Way to go!! Got that 5K lined up yet? LOL!!

I'm not sure if anyone participates in these anymore but I'm gonna put it up there anyway, cuz I'm gonna do it!
Last chance workout during the show Do a workout of your choice during the show and/or see how many squats you can do during a commercial break. We could have a contest see who can do the most! AND, do as many crunches as you can during a commercial break...again contest! I hope someone does it with me, and I hope even more they respond and let me know they did! Good luck! |
I'm totally going to do the squats contest - great idea!

I told you all I have been told many times by older woman, I was born years after my time. There was a time I had a great job and made lots of money. Stress stress stress. I love being a housewife and stay at home mother. I have a pretty much stress free life ( ok I have teenagers so it isn't totally stress free lol ). I have tons of time to play Miss Marple and sit around and chat if I want to. I generally don't do anything I don't want to do and the world, generally, moves at my pace. I don't move at the worlds pace lol. I try to tell my kids. You can't take it with you. Don't fill your life with things. It isn't what you take with you. It is what you leave behind. Make sure you have time to smell the roses. If I were to die today. I want there to be more people who miss me, than people who don't even notice I am gone because I have been so busy I haven't been around for them.
Melissa P.S. I even enjoy washing windows lol. |

1. What is your eating plan of attack? - calorie counting AND make sure that my calories are coming from nutritious foods (no empty calories) 2. What is your preferred method of exercise? Varied - I think a variety really helps keep me on track. I do weights/yoga/pilates in the morning and cardio (dance/WATP/TaeBo) after work. Mixing things up works so many different muscles and keeps my body from becoming accustomed to my routine 3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? Staying OP with my eating. I haven't gone over 1400 calories on any day. 4. What is something you are still struggling with? Patience. At 50+, post-menopausal, life-time yoyo dieter, my metabolism is more than sluggish. I have to be happy with losing very slowly. 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? To stay OP, to stay involved on the chat thread, to push my exercise limits by doing a little bit more (whether it be time or intensity) every day 6. Say something positive about yourself! I AM doing this. After 8 years of convincing myself that I was just at a time in my life that I should accept my weight - I AM SUCCESSFULLY doing this! |

1. What is your eating plan of attack? Keeping track of my calories, fat and carbs. Making sure I get the required amounts of the four basic food groups in each day. 2. What is preferred method of exercise? I do a few different things. Walking/aerobic videos, Pilate's, yoga and resistance training. I happen to love Leslie and do most of my exercising with her. 3. What is you excelled at over the last 6 weeks? I have stayed within the weekly averages each week that I allow myself. 4. What is something you are still struggling with? While I don't mind losing 1 pound a week. Sometimes it does seem dreadfully slow. I am still having a hard time getting all the required amounts of the four basic food groups in some days. The bread/cereal group is hard for me. 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? To stop pushing myself so hard when my knee hurts. I shouldn't make myself exercise. The turtle always wins the race. I do not want to be the rabbit. 6. Say something positive about yourself! 42 weeks ago the doc told me I could now TRY to lose weight. The meads were pretty much out of my system. I have stayed within the weekly averages I allow myself since the doc told me that and I don't really find it all that hard to do most of the time. |
Did anyone try the last chance workout?
I said I would and I did! I had only planned on doing the elliptical for 30 minutes but when for 45 instead. I did 60 squats over a commercial break and I hula hooped for a good 15 minutes (not straight) I didnt do crunches and now I'm tired! Laura...how many squats did you come out with? Probably kicked my butt ya! LOL! Diva... I think we all just need to take that time for ourselves!! You better do it! I'll hold ya to it! |
Sorry Mel I don't try the last chance workouts... today was a rest day and usually if I'm at home I spend most of TBL watching time on the exercise bike (got to worry about those Tri's!) but I think the fact that you offer up the challenge is fabulous!
|
WEll my workout was great tonight and i'm sure I'll be hurting tomorrow.
I started my day off with stretching and abs. Went to the gym and did 45 min strength - legs, shoulders, thighs, more abs and did 40 min cardio. I did both last chance workouts. I did 103 squats during a commercial break and I did 83 crunches during a commercial break. Love the last chance workouts. Keep em coming! |
Hi, everyone.
Was out of the country for just over a week. Things aren't great, I've been sick the whole time, am now on antibiotics for lungs & sinuses. Am having lots of asthma issues. I'm feeling run down & am craving salt & sugar 'cause it's right around TOM time. Am sleeping only a few hours at a time, waking up with nightmares. Missed swimming class 'cause of the snowstorm today. Feeling sad about everything. Ugh. Don't mean to be a downer, just realized that my update sounds rather pathetic. Sorry 'bout that. Here is my recommit survey: 1. What is your eating plan of attack? Will get better groceries. There is almost nothing left in the house since I went away. I'm missing my fresh vegetables and homemade stuff. 2. What is your preferred method of exercise? Swimming. I go to aquafit classes twice a week. Have tried yoga and was unable to do it. Am sad about that. 3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? Attendance at aquafit. 4. What is something you are still struggling with? Motivation & eating when sad or tired. When I'm upset, I just don't care about what I'm eating. 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? Trying to quiet my mind through quiet exercise / stretching. I'm so stressed & can't stop thinking. Bought a book on meditation yesterday. Hopefully I will get inspired to move more & stop staying in bed all day. 6. Say something positive about yourself! I am so much stronger than I was a year ago. -Yello. |
Scenestealer: I have never heard of acai before. I may have to look that one up. I hope you are feeling better.
Hun.E.b: Good for you! I struggle with this at times too. You are so important. You just motivated me. I do need to put exercise for me up there at the top of my priority list. I am important too. Thank you for your motivation “speech” on the BL challenge weigh in result thread. Also thank you for the poll. I for sure need a kick in the pants this week. The last chance workouts are great. I really should do them. I record the show, then I lay in bed with my 1 year old to try to get her to sleep while I watch the show. Great job on the 60 squats. Cathy: I have never tried that yogurt. Sounds yummy! You just reminded me…I still haven’t found my Walk-a-way-the-pounds DVD. KSK: That funk thing is going around. I’ll snap out, if you’ll snap out. Can it be that easy???? Sara: Congrats on being the biggest looser. Tina30: Happy Birthday to your daughter. My younger son just turned six. I feel that he is growing up so fast. The kitchen thing cracked me up. We also went through kitchens for my boys. We still have them. "We are not failures because we have a failure. Failure is being unwilling to start over." Thanks for sharing that! So true. As a matter of fact, I think I may put that someplace in my school room wall. Melissa73: Yum! That lean cuisine sounds yummy. Thanks for the kick. Kari: That was nice to send your friend your clothes. Very smart getting rid of them too. I used to hang on to my “fat” clothes. Now, I am getting rid of mine too. As soon as they no longer fit, they are sent to mission store. IdealMuse: “ 6. Say something positive about yourself! Going on 10 months with this. Go me!” Congrats. You have lost a lot of weight so far. Great job! Jlynn: Congrats on the C25k. That is a great accomplishment. Shy: I love your motto!!!! Very inspiring. My family motto is: “It’s no big deal.” Great job on all the weight you have lost so far. Diva: Good for you for getting motivated to take care of yourself. If we don’t do it, who will? Countingdown: “ I AM doing this. After 8 years of convincing myself that I was just at a time in my life that I should accept my weight - I AM SUCCESSFULLY doing this!” Good for you! And look how far you have come. Yellowfly: Sorry you are feeling so bad. I hope you start feeling better soon. |
Hello all! Well I went to my mother-n-law goverment party yesterday. I did not do so well. The bad thing is, is that they sent home alot of bad food home with her, so now I have that junk in my fridge. I can not have one more bad day. This past week has been worst than Thanksgiving and Christmas combined. I'll let you know how I do. I WILL stay on plan today.
Okay cute story: At the party yesterday, the Air Force Chaplain was saying a very long prayer. At the end, he said Amen. It was very quiet, and my 14 month girl said Amen. It was the first time she ever said it, and soooo cute. Everyone started laughing. At least I know she is listening at home. |

What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks? Getting in the right mind frame. Know that this is not a diet, but a lifestyle change. The food is not going anywhere. It will still be in the stores tomorrow (unless you are the giant goldfish that they stopped making overnight; my son still mourns its loss). 4. What is something you are still struggling with? TOM binges. I so need to get this under control. It only takes a day to wreck what I have been working weeks to loose. Getting in more exercise. 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? Good morning ladies! Well I made it through day 2 yesterday of my abstinence:) I had a even better day then day 1. I did go to the gym yesterday and did about and hour and fifteen min. of cardio. I did the bike for 10...one machine I wanted was taken, so I hopped on the bike:) Then I did the treadmill with hill inclines for 35, and I don't know what this machine is called...I call it the precore, but I'm not sure why now!LOL! It's not the elliptical...it's kinda like a ski motion and the incline changes on it. Anyway I did that for 33 min. I got all my water in yesterday, and logged my food into the dailyplate for the second day in a row. Kyle is feeling better, so off to school he goes. I'm going to my MIL's for lunch today. This will be the first test since starting my abstience. I'll pray though and hope to come out without overeating. I'm doing strength training at home today...legs, glutes, and then a core workout. Tonight is my second OA meeting, so I'm glad that I have leftovers for dinner. Other then that though not much going on. I have to go shopping for Mattie's b-day gift. I'm thinking tomorrow while the kids are at school I'll do that. I can't do personals right now, but I'll be back later. Have a wonderful day ladies:)
Melissa- I didn't do the last chance workout, but I haven't even watched the show yet. My legs were too tired from my cardio yesterday:) For sure though when I watch the show I'll do it...I love them~ |
Just wanted to remind everyone that we do have a team challenge going on. For quite some time the only people participating have been: Karen, Sara, Counting, Melissa and myself. The idea behind the challenge was to hold yourself accountable and realize that making good choices throughout the day helped your team reach a goal...PLUS the benefits you receive. Give it a lookie, I need to update and see how close we are to our trip!
|
Good morning ladies,
Just a quick post without personals because my prep time is over and I have to run to the 5th grade classroom to be with my students. Yesterday was day 60 POP. I am soooo proud of myself for staying Perfectly On Plan for 60 days in a row! That's definitely the longest stretch for me and i'm determined to get to 100. Today my BDS focus is slow and mindful eating. This should be fun since I am the worlds fastest eater. My mom told me that this is probalby the best skill I will learn from this workbook because ever since I was little she has been telling me to slow down and breath when I eat. She always asks me if I tasted my meal. LMAO....so I am going to do this!!! I have to do this in order for me to be successful in my weightloss and keep off the weight. WOW, this workbook has really gotten to me. I'm a positive, self talking, fool! My legs are sore yesterday becasue I did 40 min of cardio and my strength concentration yesterday was legs and then I did 103 squats. OUCH!! But it feels good. Today i'm going to try out the cardio kick boxing class at the Kung Fu Academy by my house. Wish me luck. I'll let you know how it goes if I don't die while i'm in there. LMAO!! |
Muse...you participated in the last chance, you were working out!! Way to go on that bike!! Girl you are gonna rock that tri!
Melissa73...you continue to amaze me!!! 103 squats!! LOL, I was going slow to keep the pace so I know you were rockin it! Excellent job! Yello...welcome back!! Its good to see you again. I'm so sorry you arent feeling well. My mother has severe asthma so I know what it can do to a person. So exhausting. I hope you feel better soon! mom23bc...you ARE important!! And I hope you embrace that for all its worth. Make a commitment to yourself and do not break it!! You wouldn't do it to anyone else so don't do it to you! I'm really glad to see that you were motivated, lately I've been feeling like I b@tch alot LOL! You can do this!! And I'm right there cheering you on! So, what have you done today to make YOURSELF proud? (very fitting dont you think?) Tina...way to go yesterday!!! What a way to take control!! Good job!! And good luck today! You can do it! Just think of your team on your shoulder wishing you good vibes to succeed! |
Good Morning Red Team,
Sorry I haven't posted much in the way of personals lately but I have been so tired. I have been having some sleep issues but finally last night I actually slept through the night and I feel so much better today. I am at work so I can't stay on long now but I hope to get back tonight. Recommit Survey 1. What is your eating plan of attack?I write down everything thing I eat and try to calculate the calories. 2. What is your preferred method of exercise?Runnning, Zumba, weight training and Pilates. 3. What is something you excelled at over the past 6 weeks?I eat far less fast food then before. 4. What is something you are still struggling with? I eat too many calories per day. I don't really binge or snack alot but it is still really easy to just eat too much. 5. What is your goal for the next 6 weeks? To lose 6 pounds. 6. Say something positive about yourself! I like to exercise. |

Hope everyone has a great hump day!!! |
Melissa- I'm guilty of not logging into our team challenge anymore. I vow to make an effort to from now on. I don't know why I stopped, especially since I'm on here everyday. Thanks for giving me the push I needed to get back to helping with the team challenge:)
|
Good morning ladies! How is everyone doing this morning? Well I didn't get up at 5 am to do my tredmill like I wanted to, but I did just finish. And that's what matters, that I still did it. I will be doing it again tonight along with my total gym. I am going to work my fanny off to hit my Easter goal of 10 lbs. Also going to work on getting my water in today too. Did good with that yesterday. I have also been getting my lunch ready when I do DH's lunch for the day. That helped yesterday so that I wasn't looking for food, and making not so healthy choices. :) well hope you all have a great day and get your water in!

Good afternoon buddies,
My students are in their weekly therapy group session with the clinician so I have a free 45 min to myself. YIPEE. I did really good with my focus on slow and mindful eating. I followed BDS to a tee and made sure to remove myself from the classroom when I ate breakfast and lunch and sat at the desk in the hallway all by myself and enjoyed every bite of my lunch. I chewed and swallowed and put my fork down between each bite. I almost took my whole lunch time to eat and it was nice. I'm glad I made myself do it. Now I have to concentrate on being mindful, but dont' have to isolate myself while doing it! Melissa: I was squatting at a pretty fast pace, but it wasn't too much. I actually got in 103 and had to stop before the last commercial was even over because my legs were BURNING!! Crunches don't really phase me, I can do those for days! Terapet: Glad you were able to get a good night sleep last night. I do my workouts at night now, and it actually helps me to sleep easier. IT knocked my DS out cold last night. He fell asleep quicker than usual. Cats: YOu should feel good about yesterday, you gave yourself one heck of a workout girl! GREAT JOB!!! Skinnyvibes: Great job getting that workout in, even if it wasn't at 5am. YOu are right....getting it in is what matters, not the time! |
I've had 32 oz of water so far today. I'm working on my next 32! I didn't get any of the BL show challenges done. I have such a hard time on Tuesdays (most nights really). I don't get off my 2nd job until 6:30 or 7 and it was almost 8:30 before I got my supper done and sat down to eat last night. I was in a very foul mood yesterday so I went to bed at 9 pm. I need to try the squats and crunches on commercials on a different night. I'll try really hard to get it done before next Tuesday!
I missed my Zumba class on Monday, because I got held late at work. I'm ready for it tonight! |
Went to the gym after classes. Man am I sore now though, I ache in the hips and my shins but I really think the shins is from walking across campus. I still cant do a whole hour of running 2 and walking 3. At the half hour mark I'm about to die. But, I'm okay with that. I feel like its still a good workout. And I can always do the elliptical at home if I need a little more.
We got invited out to Fuddruckers for dinner tonight. I dunno...scary! Although a burger sounds fantastic! LOL! |
Hun
I do understand. As long as I have been doing these walking/aerobic videos the 3 mile ones still kick my bum lol. Tonight is suppose to be pork but I think we are going to have Salmon again. I love Salmon lol. ksk You enjoy your class. melissa I have found I enjoy my food more now than I use to. I eat slowly and I enjoy every bite. I have found the same things with my snacks. When I have my can of mountain dew. I enjoy every drink lol. wow 60 days that is terrific. Kari Sometimes all that matters is that we get it done. Tina You are doing great. Mom If I said " no big deal " around here. I would never get the kids to do anything but eat, sleep, breath and play video games lol. Thanks, one of these days I will get where I want to be. Until then, I am enjoying just getting there. |
