Good Morning everyone......last night during the show I was able to some leg exercises and boy am I sore today......Hope to be able to get in a walk today and get back on a routine......my body is really feeling it!
|
Hi ladies! Thanks for the congrats! I hope I am able to get back down for our next WI. You ladies are all soo encouraging! I really appreciate it!
Andi- That is crazy! Last night it was -20 with wind chill -30 so -50! What! And nothing was cancelled! Although I think it should have been it was sooo cold! Buuurrrr! |
Hi Everybody,
I have not been eating on plan today but maybe it is not too late to make up for it at dinner. I don't know; the self control was just not there. Darn. I did make the gym yesterday for body sculpting with the lunge/squat crazy lady. I was late because of work so that got me out of a few of those squats! I have had kind of a long week already because I was having trouble with panic attacks. This is not a brand new problem for me but it has not happened for a long time. I finally went to the doctor yesterday and he straightened me out. Among other things, I am going to give up using the heart rate monitor since I was getting too worried about the number when I was exercising. I am glad he helped me put things in perspective. Hun E B-My daughter will be gone until Saturday. I just talked to her on the phone and she is having a great time. Tina-Hope you meet lots of nice people at the OA meeting. Cathy-You have been working hard girl! The scale is going to catch up soon enough. In the meanwhile, enjoy the accomplishment of sticking to your plans. IdealMuse-That is cool about the triathalon. A woman I know at the Y recently got involved in Triathalons and the weight just melted off. Plus she loves it! What is a sprint distance? Sara-I am sorry about your losses. Glad to here you are back in the game. On a final note, I agree with the thought that the house does not need any junk food. About the only thing left in my house are the chips and cookies for my daughters lunch but I feel guilty about it. (Plus I have a hard time staying away from the cookies) She doesn't have a weight problem but it is bad food just the same. To tell the truth, I would never feed that stuff to my dogs but I buy it for my daughter who I adore! I should probably talk to her about it. |
Good afternoon ladies,
Well I just did a 35 min lower body sculpting video. Haven't done that in years. I forgot how much I had squats and lunges. LOL. But I'vae got 35 min in, I sweat my butt off and also did abs with it as well! :carrot: I'll make it to the gym tonight after DS's soccer game if I don't get my car back early enough. It's STILL not ready ! UGH!! I missed the first hour of TBL and worked out for the second half of it! So I did'nt see what happened at home with them all. But when it comes down to junk food I think he did what he had to do, and he was OBVIOUSLY successful. It's a tricky subject for me because my son is very skinny and is very athletic. I figure, he doesn't have to have all of his snacks removed, but at the same time, he is a really good eater. He loves salad, he eats it for snacks sometimes AND at dinner. When there is fruit readily available he eats it. He loves black berries, strawberries and we have watermelon cut up on the fridge and he loves that too. But he likes a oreo cake sometimes too and he is a fruit roll up junky....those roll ups and gushers. He can eat 2-3 packs at a time. So I hide them in my mom's closet and give it to him when he asks. But if their not in the cabinet, sometimes he forgets their there. LOL. I'm not worried about him because he has decent eating habits, but he can get a sweet tooth from time to time, as long as it is in moderation, i'm not going to get rid of it all and deprive him of it! It's not good to eat too much of it, but once in a while is okay. I don't want to make him paranoid at 11 years old! His father is 37 years old and doesn't have an ounce of fat on his body....when he eats it's usually something quick, a hostess apple pie or twinkie or fast food. That is sooo unfair, but I know that DS has a body and a metabolism JUST like his father, so he already has his father beat in the health factor because he eats soooo much healthier than his dad does! Sara: Sorry for your losses! That can be rough on the stress, sadness and eating so i'm glad you noticed and jumped back on track! Terapet: I feel the same way as you about those darn lunges and squats. OUCH!! LOL. Sorry your eating isn't on track today but you can totally salvage the rest of your day and do some damage control by working out. Great job on getting a good workout in yesterday! Tina: Good luck at your meeting tonight! Great job getting in some good exercising! HAve a great day! cats: Don't be too discouraged about the gain. You are really doing well with your exercise and that could be the reason for the gain. Lactic acid, muslce mass, etc. So keep up the good work and next week you'll have a great loss! Mom: The walk sounds fantastic! I, myself, am a cancer survivor, diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2006. I had two surgeries to remove my thryoid gland and i'm cancer free today. I partake in the Relay For Life in Springfield, MA. My school has a team and we get out there and walk as much as we can around the track for 24 hours it is a great, inspirational and healthy night. I can't wait for it, this year it's May 30th. Just do what you can and don't stress out too much over it. MElissa: Good luck on your exam! Okay, I have to run. My car is finished and I can go pick it up! YAY!!! |
Good Afternoon ladies!! Ugh, I'm exhausted already and its only 1pm! Exam was easy shmeasy, I'm so glad that I didnt spend too much time on it. Last night I had parent council for my older daughters school (its like a PTA only not) and OMG I thought I was gonna get beaten up! One lady seriously was trying to burn holes straight through me with her dagger looks. Funny how some people just dont like to be challenge and I infiltrated their little clique. Ah well! I need to find some time tonight to get my bootie to the gym! I miss it if you can believe that!
Anyone do the Last chance workout last night? I guess I should read through posts and do personals that that would answer my question huh? I hope everyone is having a fantastic day!! |
Hi Everyone! Yesterday, I stayed OP. Last night, I really wanted to eat more, but instead I did some circuit training. I was proud of myself.
I probably will not be able to check in tomorrow and Friday. I will be at my mom's house helping her since she's recovering from her knee replacement. She's doing awesome, but my dad is out of town this week. We don't want her to be alone just in case. If I can't get on to check in, remember that I'm thinking about all of you. Last night on the show, Roger said he had a little Bob sitting on his shoulder. I have a little Chick sitting on my shoulder. |
Melissa73...it sounds to me like your son is doing just fantastic with his eating! As long as he stays active and keeps those sweet teeth in moderation he's living the healthy lifestyle, you taught him well! Way to go on those workouts!! 53 days OP...you are my hero!!
Terepet...its never too late to turn the day around. We should never wait till tomorrow! I'm glad you are getting some perspective on what truly matters and it puts you at ease! Be good to you!! I'm glad your dd is having a blast! cecil...you'll get back down, dont stress it! Just keep making those healthy choices! You can do it!! Barbara...excellent job working out during the show!! You'll get back into the swing! I know you can do it! Tina...woohoo!! Excellent job on your workout!! I hope you have a wonderful meeting tonight! Nothing to stress about, its all for the good! Cathy...you can just put whatever you can remember on the vacation thread. Excellent job by the way!! You are just cruising along! Keep it up! Mom23bc...i cant help you on the stroller, its been so long since I needed them and even then I just had the regular flat surface one for the mall. You'll know if the 3day is right for you. Just keep weighing the good and the not so good. It'll come to you! Diva...I second what you said! LOL! Being alive is more important that chips and cookies! Way to go on that running btw!! Sara...I'm so sorry for your losses. Its funny how that emotional eating can pop up and catch us even when we think we've got it under control. For the longest time I never thought I was a stress eater either. I hope you find comfort and your entire family heals soon. Excellent job yesterday!! Muse...I am SO excited for you!! You really do give new meaning to the challenge!! That is just fantastic and I hope we get to hear all about training and then the big day!! You are just amazing!! Way to go! |
Danielle...so how did that challenge go last night? Feeling those squats? LOL!! Bob would be so proud of you!
Andi...I'm so excited for you to start C25K!! Apparently there is a group in the exercise forum that is all starting C25K on March 1. Excellent job at bootcamp!! Way to go Marty!! LOL! Counting.... How's everything?! caksesl...I was wondering what happened to you!! Had me worried! I'm glad to hear it wasnt anything big, it happens, thats what freebies are for! Still in onederland so Yay!!! |
Jen...you snuck in there on me! LOL!! We will miss you! I hope your mom heals quickly and painlessly! We'll be right there cheering on your healthy choices while you are way!

Hello All!
It's been a busy day at work today - both physically and emotionally. My boss' wife discovered that her cancer is back (after 10 or so years), and they did not get good news today. Other work things were stressful today too. I'm ready to work off my stress at my Zumba class tonight. Take care everyone and I'll try to catch up later! |
Oh Karen, I'm so sorry to hear that. I think you found a fantastic way to work out the stress though! Excellent choice!
|
Okay I'm going to unwind with you all before my meeting. Remember how I said I wasn't nervous well I am now. I just don't know how these ladies are going to take me. There are only 3 of them in the group. I'm happy to have my SIL going with me tonight, but still I'm the one who is going to have to talk. I just hope that what I think I have is what I have. I know I think about food 24/7, I hide wrappers, I binge. I just want to feel welcome and I don't want them looking at me like "what is she doing here" I was reading that most people with OA are overweight, well I once was almost 70 lbs heavier. I just don't want to be made to feel like I'm crazy. Not sure if any of this is even making sense. I'm going to do personals before I ramble into eternity:)
Kari- Great job on all the exercise. Glad you guys are enjoying your gym! Muse- I'm an awful swimmer...I look like I'm drowning when I try to swim actually!LOL! Good for you for signing up and making that commitment. You go girl~ Laura- I've heard a lot about acai, it's really good I hear! Cakses- I'm with ya....once I take a few days off from exercise it's always so much harder when I start back up. Counting- Hello...hope your having a good day:) Roni- Hey girl how's it going? Andi- Wow -30 to -40 now that is cold!!!! I would die out in that. Great job on bootcamp Melissa73- Oh I love Chilis. I always get in trouble with the neverending chips and salsa, and maybe a margarita or two;) Squats and lunges you'll be feeling those tomorrow girl. They are supposed to be a great lower body exercise though. Sara- Here's to starting fresh hun! You've been through a lot the last couple of weeks. Glad to see ya back here:) Mom23BC- Sending best wishes for you MIL's surgery. I wanted to tell you if this whole 3-day walk thing seems too overwhelming right now, just forget about it until next year. They do one every year right? It just sounds like you have a lot on your plater right now, and you'll want to be able to commit 100% when you do decide to do the walk. Cat- Great job on the exercise. Keep it up Barbara- Hello...hope your legs are feeling better Cecil- I hope your day is going well Tera- Hey it's never to late to get back OP...just get start fresh from this point. You can do it hun! Melissa- Glad to hear the exam was a piece of cake....that's always nice:) Hey next time the lady gives ya a mean look just smile your sweetest smile at her...that always irratates miserable people!LOL! Jen- How great that instead of eating you circuit trained. That is a huge NSV!!!! I'm glad to hear your mom is doing well. Have fun visiting with her. Karen- So sorry to hear about your boss' wife. I hope you can work some of your stress away tonight at Zumba class. |
Just wanted to let everyone know why I haven't been around the last couple of days. Stopped in the house and thought I would take a few min to post. Elderly lady across the street fell a few days ago. Her husband just can't take care of her, he is older than she is. I have been spending most of my time over there when I am not here cooking and cleaning for my own family. Poor people, have no one to help them out so HEY, someone has to do it lol might as well be me. I have always tried to remember since before I was a teenager. Someday I am going to be old. Someday I am not going to be able to get around all that well. Someday I will need help. Will drop back in to chat tonight if I am not to tired. I did post my weigh in. Since I am only doing a weigh in every two weeks. I don't weigh in till next week. Hope everyone is doing well.
|
So I just wanted to tell everyone that I went out and bought those zip and steam bags and they are WONDERFUL!!!! Your veggies really do taste SO YUMMY!!!!! I also found tortillas that are like a 1/2 of a WW point and they are so good too!!!!
|
Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great week :) Mine has been crazy busy again with work. Our office was closed on Monday for Family Day so the rest of this week has been playing catch-up. My eating has been great though, but exercise just hasn't been happening - so we'll see where I net out at the end of this week.
Utahgirl - I haven't tried the zip and steam bags yet, but maybe I'll have to give them a try! What brand are the 1/2 point tortillas? Rennie - you are so kind to help out your ailing neighbour. It breaks my heart to see elderly people that do not have anyone to care for them. Tina - don't be nervous, I'm sure everyone will be very welcoming. If anything you'll serve as a source of inspiration after all your hard work to get the 70lbs off. And you should be commended for recognizing your food issues and seeking help before your eating gets out of control. Hope it goes well! Karen - sorry you had a tough day at work. What is Zumba? I see it on the list for one of the gyms in my area but have not tried it. The name alone sounds like fun! Jen - way to go with choosing the workout over the munchies! Hope your mom has a speedy recovery :) Melissa - I missed the last chance workout and TBL (PVR'd will watch tonight). Glad to hear that your exam was easy peasy! Melissa73 - Keep up the great workouts! You're doing such a wonderful job and you're so inspiring! Terapet - After an off-plan day, it so hard to be good - that's one of my biggest challenges. Hope you enjoy your dinner regardless of whether it's OP or not. That's it for me - I have to hop back on the work computer and do a few things before bed. Have a great night everyone! |

La Tortilla Factory Whole Wheat Tortillas...
I eat those too they are awesome. We make Tacos with spiced chicken breast and load up on red peppers, tomato, and lettuce. It's nice not having to worry about the calories in the wrap. A tip: spray the tiniest bit of olive oil on the wraps and season them just a bit with whatever and pop in the toaster oven for just a minute they will be warm and not quite so floppy... but leave them in too long and they crisp up so just for 30seconds-1min Thanks for sharing my joy about the Tri everyone. You rock! -muse |

Just a quick pop-in to say hello - not much time for personals. Tina - stay strong. The first meeting is the hardest. They WILL understand - and you will find so much insight and support and strength from the meetings and members.
Shy - what a blessing you are to those around you! Including your friends here at 3FC! You are a great role-model for all of us :) To everyone that is struggling with loss or illness right now - I will continue to keep you in my prayers. It is hard to stay focused on eating plans when life throws things at us. Stay strong - you CAN do this - and let us know if there is anything we can do to help you :) I'm off to watch the eclipse. Have a great evening and POP day tomorrow! Laurie |
Just saying hello to everyone :) Today is my last "official" day in Boston for the week, but I'm actually staying with a friend in town tonight and flying back first thing in the morning. That way I can go see "Spirit of the Marathon" tonight! I'm so excited that I managed to get tix even though they were sold out :) Should be fun.
Will try to check in again later today. |
Good morning ladies!
Karen, I'm so sorry to hear that your boss' family had some not so great news this week  Melissa, congrats on the test! Way to not put the study time in and still do fine! ;) Tina, hope everything went fine at the meeting for you. Rennie, that is so awesome of you to be helping out your neighbors. Best wishes to a speedy recovery for her. Ceclia, tell me about it. they are woosies around here! LOL I think they were more worried that the school buses were not going to start. Hi  Laurie, Utah, Deb, Jen, Danielle, Laura! Went to the gym to work out last night. Got in 30 minutes on the treadmill. While there I was listening to a conference call with Bette-Sue put on by a team from MPMU. It was interesting to hear what she is doing after the show. She's working her little tail off! Jenn from the purple team was on the conference call an hour earlier, she is so motivational to listen to. I can see her being a little Jillian! Anyway, back to the gym...omg I had to quit early as it felt like I had pulled about a million muscles in my legs. They are feeling better today. My butt was in some pain yesterday as well, but that's due to the spinning, I knew that would be coming along. What I didn't realize is how sore my arms would be this morning! I am so glad I did not do any upper body workout last night otherwise I may not be able to move my arms! Oh and now I am not a happy camper, the Pool is Closed Until Further Notice. :( I am getting frustrated though as I have gone up a couple of pounds so far this week and I can't figure out why. I'm hoping it's water weight but I don't think it is...I was actually up 4 pounds and now am back down 2 so a net of up 2. grrrr I am heading back to Fargo this weekend for my Dad's 60th birthday and of course my mom has to plan the party at Paradiso's. Yummy chips and salsa and super yummy Margarita's. I have to stay on plan! I will stay on plan! Now I'm trying to figure out how I am going to get my workouts in while I am home. Usually I go with my friend on Saturday's to the gym to work out with her trainer and Sunday's I go in the morning as well. My gym does not have a location back home. I'll probably have to go to the Sport Center (2 hockey rink with a track around both of them and a weight room upstairs) to work out, thankfully it's only 2 blocks from my parents house, but I have not been there since I graduated from high school...used to live there basically when I was younger thanks to two older brothers that played hockey. Okay, time to get this off so I can finish getting ready for work. I hope you all have a great OP day today!! I'll try to check in today at work, it's been crazy busy again and everyone seems to have gotten the flu (including my husband now :( with a 102 degree fever). |
Good morning ladies! Well I made it through my first meeting and I was wound up over NOTHING! The ladies were very sweet and I can't wait now to go back next week. I think this is going to be really good for me. It sounds like we all are kinda dealing with the same thing just in different degrees. They gave me some stuff to read and the 12 step book that they work through. So I'm glad that is over with and now I can stop all the silly worrying and focus on just working the program. I had another good day yesterday food and exercise wise. Water was better, but still not were it should of been. I find it hard to drink the amount of water I should when it's so darn cold out. Today is gym day for me. This morning Kyle's teacher is coming over for a home visit so I have to get ready shortly. My poor Kyle woke up with a bad dream last night. Madison actually came in to get us and she woke my husband up whispering "Kyle needs a bandaid"LOL! I guess he was came into her room and climbed in bed with her. She is so sweet. He did feel really warm though so I gave him so Motrin and he slept in our room last night. I try to not let the kids sleep in our room, but when they have really bad dreams I always make an exception. So I'll have to watch him and see how he feels today. Other then that not much going on. Just a relaxing day at home for me. I really need to grocery shop though...I should do that while the kids are at school. It would be nice to get it done with, so I don't have to go this weekend:) Hope your all doing well
Rennie- Your a good person, ya know that! I can tell you have such an awesome heart. I hope your neighbor is feeling well soon:) We miss ya~ Barbara- I'm going to get those bags next time I'm at the store...that chicken didn't look to bad either:) Deb- Thank you for the support. I'm so lucky to have all of you. Muse- I love those tortillas....I make wrap sandwiches all the time with them....they pretty much have replaced bread for me:) Counting- You were right they were very understanding, and I think this is going to be really good for me:) Have a great day Laura- Have fun tonight Andi- Sore muscles are like a double edged swords for me...on the one hand I almost welcome the pain because I know I worked them really good, but on the other when I'm trying to wash my hair and can't barley get my arms up over my head they seem like a curse!LOL! I hope your husband has a speedy recovery...this flu thing is the pits this year!!! I'll be back later I just wanted to let ya all know I survived my meeting:) |
Doing a fly by...I've got another exam this morning...auditing..blech! Then a meeting with the principal of dd's school to discuss the meeting the other night. Just wanted to wish you all a fantastic Day!! Be good to you!!
|
Good morning ladies,
Well I had a snack attack last night at around 11pm. YIKES! I was aware that I had wap's to use, but I shouldn't have used them. I ate about 15 pts so late at night 8oz glass of tropicana twister, 4oz of these new cracker chips - each 1oz serving has 1/2 a veggie serving in them (it says so on the package) well I ate 4oz so I got 2 veggie servings in, but 8pts...YIKES! then I had 4TBLS of cheese 4pts. Oh well, I am still OP but only have 2.5 wap's left. Guess I have to be super good today and tomorrow since my weigh in is Saturday morning. I was down to 226 on the scale yesterday and this morning I was back up to 227.4. Not sure if it was the snacking last night, TOM being here, my legs being so sore from the lunges and squats the other day (they really hurt today) or being constipated. Or a combination of all of the above. Well I wasn't going to take my slight gain sitting down so when I woke up this morning I filled my large glass with water and did a 30 min Cardio DVD and my abs. It's actually nice out so i'm going to go outside for a walk later and then get to the gym tonight to do my day 2 week 4 c25k and back and biceps. That should do some damage control. Tomorrow I'll do the same! Cardio, cardio, cardio!!! I'll be back for personals in a little while, DS wants some breakfast! |
okay, time for personals.
Melissa: Glad to hear that your exam was easy. I hope the same goes for your second one. Good luck! Tina: I"m so glad that your meeting was good and that you felt comfortable there. If everybody is grown up then they realize that just because your not overweight doesn't mean you don't have an over eating problem! Everybody's different on the outside with similar inner struggles. Yay you for taking a step to help yourself! My legs ARE killing me today because of the squats and lunges. OUCH!! It feels good though. At least I know I worked my muscles out good. It all works out too because yesterday was leg day for strength and I couldn't make it to the gym, so I definitely got my leg workout in at home! Tonight is C25k day 2 week 4 and back and biceps. Then friday is just cardio / c25k day 3 week 4. Wish me luck on running for 5 minutes again two days in a row. YIKES!! Rennie: That is so sweet of you to help out your neighbor like that. YOu are a very good person, not everybody would do what your doing. I'm sure they are very appreciative of your caring spirit and I"m sure your kind deeds will come back to you when your in need! Utah: Thanks for the tip on the steam bags as well as the tortillas. I've been using a 1pt whole wheat low carb tortilla, did you say this one was .5 pts for WW. WOW!! I can deal with 1/2 a point! Where do you find them? Debalicious: Great job doing well with the eating. Now you just have to work on that exercise. Sucks when work is so busy! Thanks for the kind words! It helps that I LOVE to exercise so it isn't a chore for me, I really enjoy it! Counting: Thanks for your support! It really helps when we are struggling to know that we can come here and people are here to support us and understand what we are going through. I haven't had any major struggles as of yet, some times I get snacky but I only allow myself those snacks if I have the ap's or wap's for it...if not I have the willpower to just say no. But if I have a time of need, I know who to call on. thanks!! Scenestealer: Enjoy the Spirit of the Marathon tonight, sounds like a good time, lucky you to get tickets last minute like that! Andi: I feel your pain on the gain. I was so excited yesterday to be down to 226 and already down 1.8lbs for the week with three days to go. But then I got snacky last night and then I have TOM and i'm constipated and my legs are killing me. Any one of these or a combination of all of them could have caused my scale to go back up to 227.4 (which is only down .2 from last week). Look back at how you were exercising, if your sore, TOM, bloating, high sodium foods. Any of these reasons can fluctuate the scale! I'm doing a ton of damage control today and tomorrow and hoping for a great weigh in Saturday morning. Whatever it is, as long as I lose .2 I will get my 20lb sticker, so that will make me happy either way, but I have only 4.2 to lose to reach my 10% so I hope it will be at least a 2lb loss so that I can make my 10% by march 1. that's my goal and my hope anyway! Good luck to you! Drink a ton of water!! Okay I think I got everybody! Gonna go get that power walk in, it's actually kind of nice out today! |
Hi everyone
I love old people. They have so many great story's to tell. I love to hear about how things were. What people did. How people took care of each other. I have been told many times I was born years after my time. I think they are right. I have been getting some exercise in but not as much as I usually do. Now I am going to have to play catch up. Have already done 4 videos today, have two more to do to up caught up by Monday morning lol. Busy busy busy. The house is clean. I am doing laundry now. Will food shop on Saturday. Will be nice Monday morning when I wake up and everything is caught up. See lol, good thing I do keep up on things. Not all that much that has to be done but normal day to day things. |
Melissa73: Wow! You seem so young to have had cancer. Just proves that cancer doesn’t discriminate. I did the relay for life a long time ago. I loved it. Thanks for the encouragement.
Tina30: Thanks! I was thinking along those lines. There is always next year. I really wish the pressure of getting so much money for fundraising wasn’t there. But I do understand why they do it. HuneB: Thanks for the encouragement. Shymoment: Good for you. Glad there are still people out there willing to help people out. Big hug. |
Wow, quiet day on the Red team! Where are all our chatters! Feels like Friday to me.
Just popping in really quick before my meeting, I had to come home and have a salad to make sure I stayed the course with eating! I'm budgeting a smoothie into my day. At Tropical Smootie Cafe you can get a HUGE smoothie that is only 3 points! I had to get on their website and look it up because I didnt believe that something so big could only be 200 calories or less...but sure enough only 184! Yum-O! Well, I hope everyone is having a fantastic day! I'm looking forward to getting this meeting over so I can go run! Its another beautiful springlike day here almost makes me want to try running outside! I just worry the pavement will ruin my streak of no shin splints! |
Hi Ladies!
Andie, I live in Fargo small world! I love Meican Village it's my weakness! I can pass up paradiso. I know it's amazing isn't it! Ha! Anyway I just wanted to stop in and say that I am down a lb from being up 2 so I am happy hopefully by sat I am at least down another 2 but I could live with 1. Hope you all have a great day! ; ) |
I am here lurking around~! I just wanted to bring up something I was thinking about.
I read most of the posts on this thread as well as other forums. I dont really find that I post that often, as I dont really feel I have a way with words. I dont talk too much in person either. I really like to listen to others and read books. Just wanted to let everyone know I may not post a lot but I am always around reading up on everyone days and rooting for us all. |
Quote:
I read all the time and don't post as often as I read. Sometimes I realize it's been a while since I've posted and it surprises me because I've read everything and think I've posted and I haven't. :dizzy: Yes I'm a blonde with blonde moments! Anyway, long story short. Thanks for posting, it's good to hear from you! I hope all is well! |
I haven't posted much lately. I have periods in my life where I get really anxious. Sometimes I'm not even sure why. I guess I'm kinda there now. I really am not sure what else to say right now. I've been eating okay and exercising, except for this morning. I decided to get ready early because I was going to have to scrape ice off the windshield. When I got up, there was no ice so I laid back down and took my time getting ready. By the time I left for work the freezing rain had started and I had to scrap the windshield anyway. Oh well....
I'm so behind on personals that I don't have the time or energy to catch up on everyone. Here's just a couple.... Tina - I'm glad your meeting went well. Sara - I've been wondering how you've been doing. I'm sorry for all of your losses. I hope you'll be able to get your focus back on taking care of yourself. Rennie -I believe in karma, of sorts. It's very commendable how you are helping your neighbors. I think good things are coming your way. Take care and I'll catch up with you all later! |
Hello ladies!! Oh what a couple of VERY stressful days I have had. but the good part about it, I have realized what an emotional eater I am. I wanted nothing more then to PIG OUT yesterday. I didn't, I did however eat 3 pieces of biscotti. But considering I wanted to go get a big fat cheeseburger, fries and a shake, I am pretty darn proud of just settling for 3 pieces of biscotti. Then today, I had Subway for lunch rather then the burger, etc.
My son got his rump suspended for 7 days....arggggg and talk about attitude. Oh I could just scream. The Dr's still don't know what's wrong with DD. So I have been searching online and in my vitamin book, and in doing this I read about eczema (youngest DS has) and come to find out it's a food allergy! The Dr told me it was just dry skin and put some lotion on it. Ok, so he's had constipation as well, and I asked her about food allergies with the constipation and she said no, alot of times little ones his age get constipated and to give him Myralax and it'll eventually pass. I am not the type that wants to drug up my kids to get them to do something that their body should be doing naturally. So, back to my DD, the Dr. thinks because all the tests they have been doing so far have come back clean that my daughter is depressed and wants to put her on anti depresents..... Ok, again I am not the type to just drug them up and cover up the problem. Ok, sorry to vent at you all....I am just a bit frustrated with this entire situation. DD's Dr hasn't run all the tests that she could, I mean she didn't even do a stool sample....hello, she's having abdominal pains. She just thinks it's all in her head and that she needs anti depressents..... ok, sorry again... I hope everyone is having a great day! :) Mine can only get better! :) Sorry if it's TMI! |
AH! I think I pulled a muscle in my shoulder throwing my backpack into my car this afternoon, it really hurts, just right on top of my shoulder...whine!
Gotta run to the gym or I'm not gonna get it in before my TV night starts. I'll be hulaing during the commercials! |

Kari, I think I would definitely seek 2nd opinions. I agree with not wanting to drug up the kids. My son also had a food allergy when he was little but has since grown out of it. When he was an infant he was lactose and soy intolerant, which breast milk and most formulas caused constipation, thankfully his Ped told us to keep trying different formulas until we found one that worked because he also did not agree with drugging up our baby.
Hope you have less stress coming your way  |
jasmine, don't worry about not having anything to say. I feel the same way too most of the time. Go figure but yes, I also am generally quiet in real life too. Hard to believe, I know ;) Say Hi. Let's us know what your plans are for the day. If you have a question about something, ask. Having support here is awesome and so is giving support ;)

Hi all!
I had a great time at Zumba class last night. I have found I can last the entire hour if I stay low impact. I am even starting to get some of the moves but I still can't shimmy! I also walked/jogged for 30 minutes on the treadmill after work today. It felt great. Still struggling with the food some but coming here helps. Thanks! Andi-Have a great time in Fargo! Tina-The OA meeting sounds wonderful. Is it like WW, do you have topics at each meeting? Melissa-Good job planning for the snack attack. Hun E B-Glad to read you are still running and enjoying it. skinnyvibes-Kid stuff is soooo stressful. My kids are practically grown and there are still issues all the time. Just love them like crazy and hang in there. I am suprised the Dr suggested anti-depressants for constipation. Did I read that right? Gee, I would think there would be some nutrition things you could do. Is she a picky eater? Jasmine-I like to lurk too! KSK-Sorry you are feeling anxious. Exercise is great for battling that. |
Just a quick fly-by.
Jasmine - no worries. Lurk and post when you feel like it. I used to feel guilty when I didn't do personals for every single person. But, 3FC and our red team are all about support and making everyone feel GREAT about being here. So, now I just pop in and post a little or a lot - as the Spirit moves me :) Shy - I used to work as an outreach counselor with seniors. I was in my 20s at the time. I learned so much working with them. We lived with my Grandma much of my youth. She was such a positive influence on my life. I have always had so much respect and admiration for seniors. And now - I have blinked, and I am getting close to being one myself (proud owner of an AARP card ) Kari - I'm in the "keep looking for natural solutions" camp too. Good luck. It is one of the hardest things in life to deal with - watching our children struggle. It doesn't get easier - even when they are grown. To all you wonderful REDS - Stay strong. We CAN do this. With all of the work, family, and health stresses we are facing - we can draw strength and support from each other. Food isn't the answer to life's stresses. Relationships are. WE CAN DO THIS! Wishing you a POP day!!!! |
Hi everyone,
I am so sorry I havent been around in a while. I fought off the cold and now I am back. I have read some of the posts. It is way too much for me to do personals. I have been in a funk lately with my weight loss. I was doing soo good and now I have a hard time with it. I am starting a new plan next week to jump start myself again. I am happy to report that I now fit in a size 14 jeans. I havent seen that in many many too many long years ago. Has to be at least 15 years. As sad as that sounds. Congrats to all of you for the hard work you all do. Take care and I will be back sooner than later. Take care! Cathy/Canada |
