good morning ladies,
41 OP days and counting! sorry I was MIA yesterday, it was a hectic day and I had no time to get here. I thought my school day was going well until after lunch. about 2pm my girl had a huge blow out and trashed my classroom, throwing and kickign EVERYHING in her way. Her mom ended up picking her up around 3pm. Then at about 3:20 (the time all kids are going on to the bus) one of my boys was mad that he lost a point on his behavior sheet during the day and he got pissed and started punching and kicking the door and lockers then punched the glass window, we had to put him in a floor management hold because he could have really hurt himeself if the glass broke. HE was screaming, kicking, trying to bite us and he just wouldn't calm down. We had him in a hold for 20 minutes long. I was sweating and exhausted. He finally calmed down and his foster mom picked him up, I didn't get out of school until 4pm. UGH!!! Then I had to get DS a bite to eat and drop him off at his couches house for 6pm. He brought my son to soccer for me because I still have a donut on my car and can't ride on the highway. I took the opportunity to go to the gym. I completed my day 3 of week 2 c25k and I could have kept on running, it felt really good, i did an additional 25 min of cardio on the bike and 30 min of strength back, thighs and abs. It was a great work out and I watched the new Survivor during my work out! God James is a gorgeous man!!! LOL I only missed one day and I can't even keep up with all the posts. Sara: Sorry about your loss! Tina: Glad JOey is home safe and sound! Thanks for asking about me while I was MIA.....I am doing well, still feeling a little stuffy and have a sore throat, but that doesn't keep me down, I'll still be at the gym again tonight! WEigh in is tomorrow morning and I NEED to have a loss. My scale finally went down but it's only .4...that is NOT enough for me! LOL That stinks about your sisters situation, but i'm glad your feeling a little better about it today! jlblake: Thanks for the tip on the Yoga DVD, I'll have to check it out! Melissa: Hope your feeling better! I've been a little sick myself for the past two days! Sorry if I didn't get to you for personals. I just can't keep up. LOL I have to go update the exercise challenge and our vacation challenge! |
So I did my measurements last night because I was feeling a bit smaller and my clothes were feeling a little lose and since measureing myself on 1/23/08 in two weeks I have lost a total of 8". A total of 15" since my first measurments taken on 12/12/07.
body part - SM 12/12/07 - 1/23/08 - 2/8/08 - Total " Lost neck - 16" 15" 14.5 " - 1.5" chest - 49" 48" 46 " - 3" Waist - 45.5" 43.5" 42" - 3.5" Hips - 50" 49" 48" - 2" Abdomen - 50" 49" 47.5" - 2.5" Bicep - 12.5" 13" 12.5" - 0 Forearm - 10.5" 10.5" 10" - .5" Thigh - 28.5" 27" 26.5" - 2" Calf - 17.5" 17.5" 17.5" - 0 Total 297.5" 272.5" 264.5" - 15" I NEEDED TO SEE THESE RESULTS BECAUSE I HAVE A FEELING MY WEIGH IN ISN'T GOING TO SHOW AS GOOD OF A LOSS AS I HAVE BEEN HAVING. So 15 inches in 6 weeks is AWESOME!!! I know my exercise and weights are paying off. |
Hey Red Team. I have been sick all week but I have still managed all 5 of my workouts for the week! I didn't even want to get out of bed today, but I did it and got my butt kicked big time. I ran two miles *after* my one hour weights session with my trainer. The girl I ran with just wouldn't stop haha! I feel exhausted but I feel a bit better. I think if I had sat at home all week I wouldn't have gotten better any faster. So at least I did a good thing.
The eating this week was pretty awful, mainly because I did not want to be bothered in the kitchen. These are the weeks that I wish my husband was home so he could have picked up the slack. So I picked up dinner a lot and for that I suffered. The scale has not moved one iota. Better than a gain (which I was up 2-3 last week because of my TOM) but not great. I could have done way better. So I am re-focusing my attention to what goes on the plate and hopefully next week I will have a decent loss! I am so far behind on the thread and I have about a million pieces of paperwork to fill out for my new job, so I am going to just say I hope you all are doing well, and I will keep current from here on out! |
Hi ladies! I’m doing better today. Thanks for all of the support!
Tina – I’m glad your son is back and had a good time. I’m sorry that you’re going through this stuff with your sister. I’m glad you could have a good talk with your MIL and SIL. Thanks for commenting on my avatar. That’s a picture of one of my babies. She’s a Weimaraner. She’s hyper and spoiled, but also very sweet. I just came across that picture. I think she was licking her lips, but it looks like she's sticking out her tongue. It cracks me up! Melissa – It sounds like you’ve been keeping yourself very busy. I have experienced the low blood sugar thing, and it’s not pleasant at all. Sometimes I’m so weak I don’t think I’ll make it to the kitchen to get something to eat. Laura – sounds like you did well on your trip this time. It’s always nice to be home, no matter where you’re coming from! Good luck on your marathon! It’s great that you can do them frequently! Andi – sorry about the car problems. Forking over the money stinks, but it’s nice to have a happy car! Your workout with Marty and Amy sounds intense. I’d probably be curled up in the fetal position by midway through! Cool that you got to meet someone else from the MPMU! Cathy (Catway8) – I hope you get to feeling better soon! Mom23BC – I hope your baby keeps getting to feeling better. Great job on the step-ups! I’m impressed. I think it’s great that you have added running to your walks and that you son is joining you! Emily – you’re doing great on the C25K! I’m anxious to hear how your 20 minutes goes! Cathy (Catsgetnhealthy) – Hope you’re feeling better soon, also. Good job on exercise even though you’re not up to par. I don’t usually keep on plan when I’m not feeling well. Kari – sometimes it’s more like work at home than at work, huh? Diva – I’m glad you’re feeling better! Rennie – Girl, your fall sounds painful! I’m a bit clumsy and have had similar experiences. I feel your pain! The work on the house sounds exciting. I had some done a few years ago and need to get someone back at the house to finish up the details and do a little more. Cassie – I’m sorry you’re discouraged. Hang in there! Since your eating and exercise is on track, I bet the (fish) scale will go down soon! Muse – I need to get onto weight training so that I can build my muscle tissue up. I’ve read about the torn muscle fibers and then the muscles building when it repairs itself. Thanks for the reminder/nudge! Utah – good luck on the move. I hope your move goes smoothly! Melissa73 – I admire anyone who teaches! It sounds like you had a rough day. I’m glad you could work out your frustrations at the gym. Inches lost is always wonderful and 15 inches in 2 weeks is amazing! And I love Survivor and LOST (I think you were one that mentioned that last week). James is definitely a favorite of mine! Did it suddenly get hot in here? Wait,…what was I saying? Cat – I’m sorry you’ve not been feeling well. I’m impressed that you’ve kept up with the exercise. Don’t dwell too much on the food either. It’s hard to eat healthy when you’re under the weather. Just get back on the healthy eating as soon as you can! DK, Counting, Terapet, and anyone else I missed, hello! Now about me: I’m doing better today mentally. I weigh in at work and my usual weigh in day is Monday. I have been also weighing in on Fridays in case something happens, and I can’t make it to work. I don’t want to miss a weigh in. I weighed this morning and the scale was down quite a bit more than I was expecting. I actually had a “this can’t be possible” moment and teared up. (I’m an emotional person so this is nothing unexpected). In the back of my mind, I’m nervous that this is a fluke and I’m trying not to jinx it. ;) We’ll see on Monday, huh? I have upped my water and been on the higher end of my working out time. That may be just enough to keep me on the right track! I have a surprise birthday party for a friend tomorrow. I’m planning on eating healthy and staying on plan. Maybe the potential bigger loss will keep me motivated! Take care everyone and have a great weekend! |
Hi Team! I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday and I missed you all. I don't have time for personals today, but I want you to know that I'm thinking about you all--especially Sara and Tina.
I have a question for you all. I was surprised this morning when I stepped on the scale (unofficially since WI is on Saturday). The scale was up almost 2 lbs. I've exercised some this week (not a lot) and my calories have been okay. It's not that time of the month yet. This is really upsetting to me. I was so excited to lose 3 pounds last week. I did have two off days. Last Friday, I only ate 891 calories because I was sick and not very hungry. On Sunday, I ate 706 calories because I was fasting most of the day. The rest of the week my calories have been between 1200-1700 calories. Could these two days be enough to mess up my metabolism? Could I really have gained two pounds? What do you think? I will weigh myself officially tomorrow, but if I really am up 1-2 pounds should I take a freebie week or not? Thanks everyone! |
Andi - WOW - that sounds like an intense workout! I hope you are able to move tomorrow!
Shy, oh dear - I hope you are OK! Don't overdo it, and take it easy! A warm bath, some tea (maybe even a little Mountain Dew) should make you feel better! Cassie - that has happened to me too. I notch up the workout and gain weight. It is temporary - hang in there, you will be losing those lbs. again shortly. Melissa - I count snow shoveling as exercise. It is actually more intense than a lot of my workouts (yoga, walking, etc.) I don't run because I do have trouble with my knees. They are getting better as the weight comes off, but they still twinge if I do anything high-impact. Of course, carrying around that weight for so many years, hasn't helped me much. Laura - sounds like resting your body was a good idea - so I think it probably worked out for you. I find airport delays and traveling in general to be very tiring. Sitting around, or even wandering the airport seems to wear me out. Kinda odd really. Mom23 - wow - you are doing great with your running! You are making wonderful progress! I'm betting you will be running that mile in no time! Tina - I'm glad you are doing better. This is hard to go through, but you have so much positive going on in your life - concentrate on what you can change, and be ready for when your sister does need you again. I will keep her in my prayers. Cat - glad you are feeling a bit better. Here's hoping you are well soon! Utah - sounds like the move will be a good thing for you! I will be thinking of you! melissa73 - wow - way to go with those inches! I never took my measurements, so I am just going by my clothing. Sometimes I wish I had done the measurement thing. Cat - hope you are better soon! Way to go getting your workouts in! Karen - congrats on your loss! I have my fingers crossed that it is the same or LOWER on Monday :) Jen - I'm betting that it is just one of those pesty, nasty little variations on the scale that we all have once in a while. I really don't think that two days of lowered calories made a difference. Many people cycle their calories like that. I have light calorie days sometimes too. There are so many things that affect the scale - just a bit of water weighs so much. Those lbs. will be gone in no time! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! |
Hi all - Just a quick pop in today.
I Upped my running intervals to 2.5 run and 2.5 walk for 60mins... I did 25 mins total running! Wow! Gotta get new running shoes this week. -muse |
Counting
The warm bath felt real good. I warm bath, a warm shower, a warm bath, a warm shower lol. That is why I hated all the oreos I would have rather had the mountain dew lol. cakes It is hard to eat right and get our exercise in when we don't feel well. Hope you feel better and get back on track. jl Weight does fluctuate. It is the over all you see not just one week. I don't think I would worry so much about it unless you are seeing 2 or 3 weeks in a row that weight is up. You may find next week the weight is down again. ksk :) I am glad to know I am not the only one that can't walk lol. Melissa Nice going, you are doing great. Sounds like you had a very hectic day. Do those kids have problems? Or where they just acting up? Losing weight is such a funny thing, sometimes it happens when we least expect it. Terepet Sometimes I think I was put on this planet to make people laugh. I was in a car accident 20 odd years ago and they told me I would never walk. With Gods help I proved them wrong. I tumble down the stairs is nothing lol. Utah Hope your move goes well. Cats You know, if you are going to look stupid because you don't watch where you are walking. The darn men around you could at least be good looking lol. What is going around is nasty. My daughter has had it off and on for going on three weeks. Every time she thinks she feels better she isn't feeling well again. Tina It comes to a time in our lives that we either have to get people out of our lives that are not either physically or mentally good for us or not let them bother us anymore. Sometimes that means telling them what we think from time to time. I have been told all my life I should live in a bubble. My mother would just laugh and say that would do no good. I would find a way to break the bubble lol. Hun His name is David Conrad. http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3515586560/nm0175633 Andi Sure glad I am wanted for something heheheheheheh. |
Hello everyone. I was really good today. I went to McDonalds with my kids. We go once a week. This is how much my life style has changed. The last three times I went to McDonalds, I did not order me anything. I ate the apples in the kids meal and had a bite of my daughters hamburger. Also, one of my sons did not eat all of his ice cream cone. Usually I would finish it for him. I took one bite and threw the rest away. Later their Nana bought both boys a Hershey Bar, and neither finished it, and they handed it to me. Now Hershey is my very favorite. LOVE THEM! I threw it away without taking a bite. Yeah me!
Now tomorrow is another story. I am going to be as good as possible, but it is my son’s 6th birthday. I will eat a piece of cake (small piece). Also, we are cooking him Lasagna, and I will have a nice big slice of that. Also, we are taking him bowling, so I am sure there may be snacking. But that is okay. I plan to splurge a little tomorrow. I was way under calories today. Not intentional, it just happened that way. So this works out just fine with my planned bad day tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great week-end. Thanks to everyone with the encouraging words about my baby and my efforts on running. Countingdown, Shymoment, Andi18, Terapet & Utahgirl: Just wanted to say hello! HuneB: That is inspirational about you friend running between the poles. I am really motivated. I just wish my tax money would come in, so I can get my jogger stroller. Tina: I love games. When I lived around my family, that’s what we did every time we got together. Now I play with my kids every chance I get. Catsgetting: Great job on exercising through your congestions. I hope it gets better. Melissa73: What grade do you teach? It sounded rough. Great job on the inches lost. Cakses: I hope you are feeling better now! KSK: Congrats on you weight loss! And I am glad you are doing better. JLBake: There is no way you gained that much weight. The scale just does that. If I was really good one day and I especially was good with not eating carbs too late, then the scale goes lower the next day, but then if I eat carbs for dinner, then I gain that weight back. I think it is all water weight. I usually loose a pound, gain 1 or 2 back then loose those plus one. This has always been my pattern. So when I gain, I think oh yeah, I will weigh less tomorrow. So I just don’t sweat the scale, unless I know that I was extremely bad. Idealmuse: Great job on the running. |
Good morning ladies,
Just wanted to jump on quickly and announce that i'm down 2lbs this week. :carrot: I only have 6.4 to go to get to my WW 10% goal. weight. YIPEE! Karen: LOL about James. I feel the same way! Mom: I teach a 5th grade Social Emotional Behavioral Classroom. So it's only a maximum of 8 kids, the teacher (me) and 2 paraprofessionals. We have a clinician that does therapy group with the kids once a week as well as individual sessions with a few of the students and we have a behavioral specialist that works with us and meets with us once a week as well. My students have many issues and are very challenging.....there problems range from being abused, foster homes, ADHD, Bi-Polar Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, etc. So it takes alot of patience, tolerance and understanding to work with my students. They really are a great group of kids, they just have alot of problems! But it's not a typical classroom. My classroom is monitor behavior first and then academics. But I have had most of my students last year and they have made alot of progress...they are mainstreamed in the regular 5th grade classroom all morning until 11am and I am working hard to get them prepared for more responsibility in MIddle School next year. They are really bright and are mostly, A, B and C students. So i'm doing alot more academically with them than most teachers do in the SEBS classroom. Gotta run, I'm going to a casino today. TTYT |

Granted that sounds like a long time, but for 2 months I could not exercise because I was horribly sick and hardly lost anything :( but I do know that that is a healthy amount to have lost and I know it will not be coming back!! It just amazes me when I pick up my cat and I can not equate the amount that I have lost to how heavy he is. |
Andi - Unfortunately, I have been in your place and I know exactly how you are feeling. Pamper yourself today. Take an anti-inflammatory pain reliever. Ice, then heat. Rest, plenty of water. You will be feeling better tomorrow.
Way to go with 20 lbs. lost. That is truly awesome! I have to keep reminding myself that this isn't a race. I went in to Fitday today and change the timeline on my goal. This is the 5th time I've lengthened it. In the scheme of things, it won't matter diddly-squat if it takes me an extra month, 6 months or 2 years to reach my goal. We are our own worst enemies some times - we put restrictions and timelines on ourselves that we wouldn't dream of imposing on anyone else. melissa73 - congrats on your 2 lb. loss! That is wonderful! What a great week you had. Your job is challenging. I have worked in several different special ed classrooms over the years. It takes a very special person to do what you do. Mom23 - wow - what willpower! You need to bottle that and spread the wealth! Throwing out food has been one of the hardest things for me. Through Christmas, I threw out and re-gifted so many things. It was so painful. My upbringing just has me cringing every time I do it. But - I stay strong - and look the other way http://www.kieto.com/garbage_can_hop...ray_md_wht.gif Shy - hope you are feeling better today! Make the kids do all the lifting this weekend. And - stay away from those stairs ;) A good day for me - my weight was down 2 lbs. this week. More than expected, so I will probably stall out next week. Just the way it goes at this stage in my life. So, I'm celebrating while I can - :woohoo: DH is working today, DS just left to go back to his apartment, so it is time for a reality check - I need to get cracking. Laundry, cleaning, work out, church prep, baking bread and meals for next week ... I wish everyone a wonderful POP weekend! Stay strong! We are gonna do well in the challenge this week. I can just feel it! |
Good morning ladies~ I'm just checking in for the day. The weather here is so depressing lately. Kev was telling me this morning that he heard on his news radio that we've only had about 11 min. of sunlight for Feb. that is sad! I need sun!! Today we're not up to much. I've got to run to a few stores and then just picking up and getting ready for our company tonight. I'm going to gert a workout in this morning of some sort. Next week though it's back to the gym for me. I need the gym....it pushes me so much harder then when I workout at home. My weight is back to 147 so no loss from last recorded weigh-in, but down 3 lbs from TOM and my little whoopsy:) So I'm happy about that. I was watching The View yesterday and there was a guy on talking about a no cardio diet. What he was saying is that strength training is way better for us then cardio. That is reshapes our bodies and makes us loose weight faster. When asked about cardio for the heart he said that when doing strength training our heart rate goes up and down and thats actually better...what do you all think about this. I do both cardio/strength. I do know that when I'm doing weights my body feels tighter and more toned. I just didn't know should I be concentrating more on the strength part or the cardio part??? Let me know what you all think. That's about all for me today though...I talked to my sister yesterday, and she sounded pissy with me. Whatever though I got off my chest what I needed to, and if she has something to say to me she should say it. I'm going to try my best with eating today, but I know tonight we're ordering pizza...one of my fav's! I'll try my best though and hope for the best!LOL!
Cat- I hate when you cough so hard it hurts your abs...that is a pretty bad cough you have. How are you feeling now, any better? Utah- Good luck with your move. Terapet- I never knew that Ohama was known for their pizza...huh? I'm a pizza junkie though so I may have to pay a visit there sometime:) Melissa73- Ahhh another Survivor fan. We still have to watch it, but my whole family loves that show. I'm taking it you teach a special needs class? I must of missed it if you said that in the past. These poor kids though sound like they have some problems. God bless you for how you deal with that...I know I couldn't! Loosing 8" girl...you rock. Your doing so good...down 2 lbs for the week and only 6.4 away from meeting your 10% goal...keep up the good work:) Cakses- Good job for getting in all your workout while sick...that is pretty impressive! Karen- have fun at the surprise party...that will be fun. Good luck with WI:) Jen- Thanks for thinking of me...I'm dealing a lot better with the whole situation now. I know shes and adult, and is going to do what she wants to do, so alls I can do is be here for her when she finally comes to her senses. I think the 2lb gain is probably due to water or something. Counting- Your right I'll be here when my sis needs me...I could never turn my back on her. I am through though enabling her. Great job on 2lbs down...that's great~ Muse- I love when I get new running/walking shoes. I never realize how bad my old ones were until I wear the new ones for their first workout. Great job on 25 min. of running:) Rennie- I hear ya a bubble wouldn't help me either...I would pop it somehow:) I guess we're doomed to be klutzes the rest of our lives. You should see me trying to do advanced workout videos...I look like a fish out of water. Flopping around everywhere. Yesterday my daughter was like mom you have to try to stay still...I just started laughing:) Mom23BC- Your a stronger women then I am...to throw away hershey. I love games...do you all have apples to apples? That is one of our favorite right now. Any suggestions on any ones you really enjoy? I've bought a few that are complete duds:) Andi- How cool that your co-workers are starting to notice your weight loss. Down 20lbs is something you should be really proud of, and I say the slower it comes off the more likely it is to stay off. I hope that cramp goes away soon for ya...those are the pits. Try some light stretching~ Melissa- How ya doing girl? Have yourself a great weekend:) I hope you all are doing well....enjoy your weekends~ |
Counting
I feel pretty darn good. Do I hurt? Sure I hurt but heck, if I didn't do anything on days I hurt I would never do anything. This is just one more hurt lol. Andi Sounds like you are doing well at losing weight. Not everyone takes off tons of weight fast. I sure don't. You know it is funny, my cat weighs about 15lbs. I remember when I lost 15lbs I picked him up and thought darn you are heavy. How did I carry you around all the time :) Melissa Nice going. Can't wait to see you dance around when you hit that goal. Mom Nice going. Wow toss away a Hershey that takes willpower. I love those things from time to time. Nothing wrong with having a splurge day. It is NOT going off plan if you plan it. Exactly the way to do it, plan you are going to. Hope you have a wonderful time. |
Good Morning Red team!! Well AF left all your houses and came to mine this morning! Very inopportune time considering its my WI day! But I was still down .6, which I am very happy for because I was over points more days than on points plus AF...so yay me!! This is going to be a MUCH better week! We've got Valentines day, which we usually do dinner out but ya know that doesnt have to be a bad thing. No reason I cant still stick to points!
My girls and I have 3 birthday parties today. I'm planning to go and finish out Week 3 at the gym while my youngest is at hers. Then I need to hit the mall and get dh's valentine's present, hopefully I can find what I want to get him! And I gotta pick up one of my dd's birthday presents if they arent sold out! We were at the mall yesterday and these shoes she wants werent on display anymore!! Hopefully they just sold the display size or can order some in. Its the one things she wants most of all. So weird to me because I'm not a shoe girl and my dd LOVES shoes! I bought these dark chocolate raspberry bars at my meeting this morning $7.50 a box and icky! I dont like them. Alrighty, best stop rambling and get to personals before its time to run dd to her party. Have a wonderful Weekend Red team! Dont forget Weigh in deadline is Monday 11:59pm EST! |
So, today I bought a pair of pants TWO SIZES smaller than when I began this diet on 1/1/08! I am so excited it's ridiculous.
|
Rennie.....a paramedic that looks like that is almost worth the 911 call eh! LOL!!
Tina....Jillian says in some magazine, I think that BL little thingy that came out a few months ago, that we should be doing at least 4 hours of resistance training a week for weightloss and that cardio was just extra. She says thats the way to lose weight quicker. Its something I guess I need to pick up too, because right now all I do is cardio. I'm craving pizza myself!! I was thinking about getting it tonight. Actually the thin crust Hawaiian isnt that bad calorie/point wise and I love that flavor LOL! Have a great day! Dont let your sister get to you! Counting...way to go on your 2 lbs!!!! Excellent job last week!! Keep up the GREAT work! I hope you have a very productive day!! I think if we all just stopped for a moment and really thought about what carrying this extra weight does to our bodies (not just asthetic) but what its REALLY doing, we'd be even more driven to get it off. Not just the joint pain either. There is so much on the inside we dont even know about. Way to go to us for working on it! Andi...you are doing SO awesome!!! I'm so happy for you and incredibly proud of how far you've come....20 lbs is AMAZING!!! And people are noticing which is even more enforcing! Keep it up girl!! Rest that body!! You really took a beating LOL! I hope you feel better soon! Melissa73....WOOHOO!! Way to go on the 2 lbs!! That is fantastic! And almost to 10%!!! So impressive!! I cannot wait for those milestones myself!! You are such an inspiration! Keep up the good work!! Have a great time at the casino...win big!! I didnt realize you and I are at the same point in the C25K, I'm going to do Week 3 day 3 today. I'm so impressed with your measurements!! That is FANTASTIC to see!! Excellent job! Mom23BC....You are so amazing!!! Look at you turning those habits around!! That is so impressive and you should be so proud of yourself and the changes you are making!! Way to go!! I hope ds has a fantastic birthday! You can enjoy and indulge without going overboard. Bowling is great exercise too! Have fun! Enjoy yourself! Keep up the great work!! Muse...I'm so impressed with your running!! It makes me want to see what I can do! I wonder if I could walk 1 run 1 for a whole hour! I just might have to give that a try! thanks so much for the inspiration! Have a fantastic workout!! Jen....I dont think the 2 off days is enough to cause a gain. But ya never know. Our bodies are so intricate I think its impossible to know whats going on. I think what you've got to do is just realize its a machine. Our bodies fluctuate SO MUCH from day to day and hour to hour. For me if I've had higher sodium meals it takes 2 days for my body to respond with a gain. Everyone is so different. I would just focus on the fact that you are changing your life! Your working on your body both inside and out and no matter what the scales says nothing can take that away from you! So keep up the good work!! Celebrate all the amazing changes you've made and realize the scale doesnt tell the whole story! Karen..I'm so glad to hear that you are doing better! I hope you have a great time at the birthday party and come away with no regrets!! cakses....I'm so sorry you arent feeling well! Eating out can be rough but its still possible to keep your goals in sight. Feel better soon, and dont worry about the pages you missed. We wont leave you behind!! |
MSteacher...WOOOHOO!! A whole 2 sizes smaller..that is FANTASTIC!!! Way to go on a job very well done!! Keep it up!!
I know when I read through posts that I saw someone say that they were waiting for their tax refund to buy a running stroller and now for the life of me I cannot find who said that!! But it reminded me of something REALLY exciting in my life...we got our tax refund and I paid off my car!!!! Thats right, no more car payments for us!! So exciting. Our payments were $320 a month so its HUGE for us to get that off our backs. Now if we could get the braces paid off....LOL!! Always something isnt it!? |
Melissa - congrats on paying your car off. I just bought mine in July and I feel like I am never ever going to be done paying it off. That must be a huge relief and $320 in your pocket each month, sweet!
MSTeacher - that is awesome about the pants. It has to be one of the best feelings in the world that comes with the weight loss. Tina - my trainer has us do 4 strength days and 1 cardio (weekends are our choice) because she says when you build muscle your metabolism gets faster, so it also aids in weight loss. Mom23BC - OMG I could *never* not eat at McDonald's haha. I just skip it alltogether. You're way stronger than I am!!! |
I wanted to add, I am officially at 199 again. I usually use my Sat or Sun weigh in for TBL challenge so maybe I can squeeze one pound out by then haha. Either way, I can handle a 0 for the week after being so sick and cruddy.
Tomorrow is my 28th birthday and I have absolutely no plans - how depressing right? My DH is in Iraq, my MIL is working and I still don't know a lot of people. I think I may take my kids to the movies or bowling, just something to get out. At least there won't be cake to tempt me haha! |
|
Mom23BC, good idea with the mailbox running, and great job so far! I know you can do it. Also, doesn't it feel great when you're offered something and able to turn it down? I LOVE the virtuous feeling I get!
Andi, that's so fun that you can do TBL workouts with the contestants during the show! Unfortunately, I don't typically leave Boston until about 5 on Thursdays, and I don't think I can get to Omaha before whenever the bootcamp is, but that sounds like a great class. Also, that is incredible that you've lost 20 pounds and your coworkers are noticing... great job! Melissa, you're definitely better off running on a track than out on the road. Hope your knees are still feeling good! Also, that's exciting about the car payments. I have a ton of student loans that I just started paying off, and I can't WAIT to be done. I'm trying to get everything paid off in 3 years because that's when I'll be going back to school for my MBA, and I don't want to have any remaining loans when I do that. Melissa73, I did the elliptical during Survivor. Last season I thought James was gorgeous, but now his muscles (especially in his back) are almost too much for me. They're so big they almost look like rolls of fat instead of muscles. I still think he's great though. He and Yau Man are my top picks :) Cat, wow, I can't believe you did all your workouts while sick! You go girl! Also, happy almost birthday!!! Hope you have a fabulous day and do something special to treat yourself :) Jen, I agree with Counting and wouldn't worry too much about the 2 pounds. Even if it's there for this week's weigh-in, chances are next week you'll be down 4 or something! At least that's how it works for me when I have unexplained gains. Tina, I like a combination of strength training and cardio. Basically, cardio burns a lot more calories while you're doing it... but strength training builds muscle, which burns more calories when you're resting. Most exercise specialists recommend a combination of both. I'm in bed and going to sleep as soon as I post this. I'm excited about the race tomorrow, but also nervous because it's supposed to be cold (23 degrees) and VERY windy - 20 MPH winds! Those could definitely slow me down, but hopefully it will go well. I'll keep you all posted! |
Lost 2.2 pounds this week. Slow but steady! Prayer power!
|
Oh Survivor fans YaY!! James was my favorite last season even if he did make the dumbest move in survivor history, but thats okay, still love his attitude! Not liking parvarti all over him though! Yau Man is my other fave!! LOVE HIM! and so glad Johnnie rotten is gone!
Laura...I cannot wait to hear how your race went!!! Lets not even talk student loans! LOL!! I've got a bundle of those but luckily got till the end of the year before I really gotta start thinking about them. Although when we win Powerball tonight I wont have to think about them at all! LOL!! Good luck tomorrow!! cakses...I didnt know you were a military wife!! I'm so sorry if you said that before and I didnt remember. You are one of my heros!! I cannot tell you how thankful I am for you and your families sacrifices so that I can live the life that I live. I hope you have a very very happy birthday, and that all your wishes come true! |
Thanks Melissa and everyone else. I am still a bit under the weather and I goofed up dinner tonight but otherwise have been doing okay. I am off to bed and praying my kids sleep in for me! It sucks to be sick on your birthday!
|
Hey everyone--Thanks for your support!
Happy Birthday Cat! I hope you feel better soon! Laura-- Good luck on your race! |
Don't really have much time to write up a full race report now, but here's a short version:
I was EXHAUSTED this morning when I woke up, and SO not ready to run. I really wanted to go back to bed, but I had already signed up so I didn't want to waste my $20! Haha. On the subway up there, I had to try hard not to fall asleep - that's how tired I was. The race started, and I felt very sluggish. Then the winds picked up... they were at 20 MPH, with gusts up to 29 MPH! From miles 7-10 we were running DIRECTLY into the wind, and it was awful. This was the first race I had done completely on my own (that is, no one at the finish line), and it was so depressing. Then at mile 12, I put on Heather Small's "Proud" and thought of all of you... it was like you were there cheering me on for the last mile :) I finished in 2:01:53, which I'm thrilled about considering how tired I was and how bad the winds were. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!! |
Laura - way to go! Awesome race!!!! You should be so proud!

Happy Sunday Everyone,
Just enjoyed a wonderful morning with the paper, a cup of coffee, my husband and two adorable lap dogs. I was also pleased to see the scale down another half a pound thanks in large part to the fantastic inspiration and support from all of you. I have been trying to get my eating on track for a long time now but I am finally thinking twice about what I am putting in my mouth and slowly but surely things are improving. MSTeacher-Congratulations on the smaller pants size. The hard work pays off big time! I can't wait until I am down a size. All the pants I have in my current size are out of date but I don't want to buy anymore of this size! Cakses-HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you are feeling better. Laura-You are a trooper girl! I was thinking that the description of your race was a good analogy for loosing weight. Sometimes it feels like running into the wind on a cold day when you woke up sleepy to begin with. You are a great inspiration for keeping your eyes on the prize. Floann-Congratulations for losing 2.2 pounds. It all adds up. |
terepet
You take it easy. Sometimes it just all comes together. What we need to do and what is important. Watching what we put in our mouth is a very important step to getting where we all want to be. Laura Way to go on doing that race. Had to be hard it being so cold and so windy. Bet you are so proud of yourself you just can't see straight. cakes Happy birthday. You poor thing, no one should be sick on their birthday. I know things must be rough with the hubby gone. Been there and done that. Try to have a nice time with the kids. Hope you feel better soon. Hun If we had someone that looked like that down at our fire department. I would call them every time I stubbed my toe lol. Or maybe I would just stop in and visit everyday, the building is only 3 doors down. msteacher WOW thats great. Oh my gosh you must have been tickled that you have lost that much in sizes. I can't wait until everything I have is falling off me ( have a few size 12 Levis that I can get into if I don't want to breath much lol ). I am hoping this happens my my anniversary in April. floann WOW nice weight loss. |
Happy Sunday everyone!
Mom23BC ~ Happy 6th birthday to your son!! Counting ~ Thank you for the words of encouragement! I did not leave the house yesterday and do feel a lot better today! Thank you again! Also congrats on your 2 lb loss! Tina ~ In regards to the Cardio/Weight training… I’ve been told to warm up and cool down with cardio and that is all that is really required for Cardio. I honestly do more Cardio because I don’t know how to use all of the weight equipment, but that is changing! Oh and yes Omaha does have pretty darn good pizza! I’m trying to stay away from it, but for some reason I always seem to have pizza at least once a week. Shy ~ Isn’t it crazy that we can equate our weight loss to our pets?! LOL When I told my hubby I had lost the same weight as my cat he asked when I was getting rid of my cat… how mean he can be sometimes…his cat is getting the boot before mine does! MSTeacher ~ congrats on the pants size!! That is awesome! Cakses ~ Happy Birthday!! And congrats at being back to 199!! Gotta love Onederland!! Hope you are feeling better soon. Melissa ~ Congrats on getting your car paid off!! I’m sure that feels great not having to worry about that every month! Floann ~ Congrats on the 2 pound loss! Laura ~ Congrats on your race! I’m so proud of you for getting up and completing it when you were tired and it was cold & windy out. You are definitely an inspiration! So as I said, my legs are feeling a lot better today than they did yesterday. I had an appointment with a trainer at 24 Hour this morning at 8am so I had to get my butt out of bed. I did go work out this morning, did 40 minutes of weights and 20 minutes of elliptical. I went and got my hair cut! That was my award to myself for losing 20 pounds! I just got a couple of inches trimmed off of it. Of course now I sound like a freaking toad and am hoping I can get over this real quick or I may be calling into work sick tomorrow. |
Good evening ladies~ My arms are killing me...I did some arm work yesterday, and it must of worked:) I'm really looking forward to the up coming week. I feel like my head is clear again, and I'm ready to get back to the gym and move. Okay dinner is ready, so I'm off....I'll be back tomorrow for personals. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies;)

Hi All!
I haven't been here in awhile and I must admit I notice not posting here parallells with my staying on plan. I've been struggling for the past 5 days or so with getting to the gym and my eating, but I'm posting here to say it must stop NOW before it gets out of hand. I plan to get to the gym tomorrow and stay on plan by taking it one day at a time and fighting to get through my "craving" attacks. I call them attacks because for the past 5 days they've been pretty intense. Luckily, I haven't gained any weight, but sadly I haven't lost any weight. Hopefully next week I'll have a big number to post. Have a good night ladies! |
Congrats Laura on the race!
|
Good evening ladies,
Hope everybody had a good weekend. I had alot of fun at the casino last night. I was really good at the buffet and I was there for 5 hours and did at least 3 hours of walking. On my points booster that means I earned 9aps yesterday with all my walking and after my daily points and my ap's I only had to use 16 of my 35 wap's. I lost 80.00 though, but that's okay...that's what I planned to take and I didn't use any more than that! Today I went to see my friend's son in a gymnastics meet. It was my first time seeing him compete and he did really well. He's only 9 and it's his first year, I was very impressed and my son thought it was pretty cool to watch. I made it to the gym tonight as planned and I got 45 minutes in ... 30 min cardio and 15 min of ab work and thighs. I started week 3 of c25k and I was sooooo amazed that I could actually run for 3 minutes straight....twice!!! :carrot: It's amazing the things you can do when you push yourself! I earned 6ap's tonight and I don't even have to use them becuase I still have 5 points left for my evening Honey Nut Cheerios and skim milk snack! cakses: Woohoo for being in Onederland. I can't wait until I get there! only 30 more lbs to go! Happy Birthday! Laura: LOL about James muscles looking like fat rolls. He's just beautiful! I think it's his smile more than anything! I really like you-man too! I'm glad that we were there in spirit for you to complete your race successfully. Wow, those conditions definitely weren't the best were they? AND student loan talk makes me ill. I"m up to about 50,000 in loans that are still deferred and I still have one more semester to go! :dizzy: floann: Congrats on 2.2lbs. Keep up the good work! Terapet: Sounds like a nice relaxing morning. Good for you that the scale is moving in the right direction. Support is very important and this board is definitely helpful in making the right decisions. Andi: What a nice gift for 20lb loss! I have to think of something to reward myself with....i'm only 2.4 away from 20lbs! Tina: Glad your feeling better! I"ve been under the weather for about 3 days now, but I keep pushing myself to work out anyway! I feel better because of it! Optimistk: Glad to see you getting back on track and posting. Posting definitly helps to keep me on track! Well i'm going to post on the vacation thread and then go watch the grammy's. Only 5 more days of school and then February vacation. YIPEE...the perks of being a teacher! :carrot: |
Just a quick pop-in to say hello and wish everyone a wonderful start to the week! I love being part of this team - we have a wonderful, supportive chat thread! Our vacation challenge is going well too!
Blessings to all - and have a GREAT Monday :) |
Quick check in, as homework is due in about an hour LOL! I hope this week is more calm so I can get in here more.:)
Anyways! I'm getting VERY irritated....the scale just does NOT want to go below 214! Granted, I added weights last week and am very sore--but still. I'm hoping to see at least 213 tomorrow...I hope, hope, HOPE. |
cassie
Maybe shake things up a bit. Look at what you are eating and maybe lower the fat just 1 gram for the day or maybe take 10 off your carbs. Mix up when you exercise. Just give the body a little shake. The weight will come off. We didn't gain it all in a day, we aren't going to lose it all in a day. melissa glad you had a nice time. Opti You are looking at it the right way. Yes, you haven't stayed on the plans you have for yourself but you haven't gained so you didn't really hurt anything. Get back to where you want to be now not later. Tina Nice going with the workouts. We have to remember sometimes as we are losing weight we are gaining muscle. This does happen from time to time. Might be the reason why some people don't gain or lose sometimes. Andi Make sure you are doing a real good stretch after your cardio. It is real important. My husband knows the cat rules the house and everyone goes before my cat goes lol. Great idea about the hair cut. I think when I lost 40lbs my husband had me go and get mine cut and highlighted ( never had that done before ) it looked so great and I felt so good about myself. There is nothing wrong with a reward to tell our selfs we are proud of what we have accomplished. |
