 Ambie, Deb, and DK. I hope all of your have a fabulous day today!
|
Hello everyone! Sorry I have been MIA. I hope everyone is doing great. We did the Marathon on Sunday. It was great. This really got me in the mood to continue on the path of getting more exercise in the great outdoors.
Today my kids and I ran 3 mailboxes to every six. We all were feeling it. I am borrowing a jogger stroller from a friend, but mine should come in this week. I am very excited. So, I am trying to fiqure out how to get more involved in our activities outside. Hiking, walking, etc. in the great outdoors, but involve my kids. So I went online looking to get ideas. I came across the website about the 3 day walk cure for breast cancer (of course my kids would not be able to go). Now that looked really exciting. The concept looks great. Raising $2,200 dollars gives me the hibbie jibbies, but I am sure doable. I believe I really could walk 60 miles in three days. The problem, is the training going up to it. I really don't know if I would be able to carve out the time 4 days/week that is needed to train for it. I would really like to do it. My mother and mother-n-law were/are breast cancer survivors. So I am "all" for the cause. The idea of doing something this big, is something I have been wanting to do. I would love to challenge myself. Now this is just a thought for me. I am nowhere near saying I am even contemplating it...take that back...I think I will pray about it. So has anyone ever done this 3 day walk????? If I did it, I would like to do the one in Atlanta this year. |
Good morning ladies. I used the Total Gym yesterday and man are my muscles feeling it today. DH and I both used that along with the tredmill. What a workout! Going to use it again tonight. :) Got to get my water in today for sure. :)

Jasmine, I can see a huge difference in your face--way to go!
Thanks to all of you for the support. I was down 3lbs this week. I have TWO birthday parties this week, so I already plan on taking a freebie next week, but it feels good to be out of that "214 rut" that I was fighting to get out of. Can't wait to be out of the 200's! |
Mom23BC, someone posted some questions about the Breast Cancer 3 Day in the main exercise forum, and got some stories back about it. It sounds incredible!
I ate a really healthy lunch: grilled bison burger (just the meat - no bun or toppings), steamed broccoli, grilled veggies, and a side salad with 1/2 serving of low-fat dressing. Grand total of 330 calories. I wanted to get some chili instead of the side salad (would have only been about 50 calories more, but probably less filling). Instead of indulging, I told myself that I had my pigout on Saturday and that this week I had to be healthy! Feeling proud of myself for that :) My manager is really sick, so after our 3 PM meeting we're probably going to head back to our hotels and work from there. That means I can walk on the treadmill while I work - yay! Hope everyone else is having a great day. |
Mom23...I looked into doing the 3 day several years ago and let the fundraising scare me out of doing it. I would LOVE to do it. And my understanding is that the walking is broken up over the days, but if you get to where you just cant go on for the day they will give you a ride to the next checkpoint. So dont let that stop you either! I think its an amazing thing to do and I would love to be able to participate myself. I hope you go for it, where there is a will there is a way!
Jen....Good for you for stretching!! I thought it felt fantastic too! I should be teaching my kids the presidents as well LOL! And here the lazy butts are still sleeping. Karen....Way to go on those workouts! I'm the same way on the weekends, for whatever reason I just think its partytime! So where are you with the water? Got that bottle close!? Tina...good for you for taking the step and planning for a meeting. I hope you get exactly what you need from it. |
Kari...way to go on those workouts!! that is so fun that you guys can do that together!
Jasmine....the weightloss has really made your youthfullness come out! How exciting to see the changes. Cassie...Way to go on the loss!! that is fantastic!! And onederland is right around the corner...can ya smell it!! That's enough to drive the good choices at the birthday parties!! Be strong! Just think...onederland! Laura...chili is a great source of fiber to help keep you feeling fuller. Hope you have a great walk this afternoon! |

That would be cool! And we could get our 3FC BL to sponsor you!!
|
Was gone for the weekend. So nice to have no one to screaming at each other ( no kids lol ). You would think at their age they could not fight over the last banana lol. Hope everyone is doing well. Nice going on the weight loss cassie.

So who took the Monday Morning Madness Stretch Challenge?
I did! And it felt good, course I always stretch after working out. Just wanted to pop in quick, my kids are home, no school today or tomorrow. I will try to catch up here in a bit, just got back from the library and Lane wants me to watch Old Yeller with him. I had a gain at weigh in today, +2.4. I think it's cause I went on a saltine cracker binge this weekend, well not really a binge since I stayed within my points, but still. They're low sodium too, but I think that's part of it. :( Sorry. I did measure myself and have lost 3.5 inches since the start of this challenge so that's a good thing. :) Anyways, I know to stay away from the crackers!! Well my kiddo is yelling for me, so I'll will catch up with ya'll later. :grouphug: |
LOL Rennie!! I swear they can find ANYTHING to scream at each other about. I think I spend more time wanting to box their ears off than not! Glad you are getting some peace!
Cathy...not to worry, we all have our ups and downs. Congrats on the lost inches!! Those are the losses I LOVE to see!! Because they cant change day to day like the scale can! Keep up the good work!! |
It is SOOOO beautiful outside! The sun is shining and warm I want to be out there!! I'd love to go for a bikeride. But, I've got so much homework that I put off all weekend long so now I'm stuck! I did open all the blinds and the windows and I'm letting that beautiful air in!
My girls have taken over my hula hoop! LOL! I'm going to have to make more just so we can all have our own. So funny how that has caught on here. Man do we laugh when its the 3 of us doing it together. Okay off to fold laundry then back to the books! Hope everyone is having a beautiful day! |
I want it to be warm and sunny here, instead it's cold and windy:)LOL!
Cat- Hey the scale is not the only indicator of weight....3.5" is great! Focus on that and not the number:) Rennie- Mine kids aren't driving me crazy today, I better check to make sure they are feeling okay:)LOL! |
Hello Teamies......has been a very busy weekend....wow....almost four pages of posts since I was not able to get on at all this weekend! Good to see that we are still chatting away. My energy level has been really down and I have not had much desire to do a lot. I know as soon as I can get my apt together I will feel much better! Just hard to keep on top of things when you have 3 others staying with you in a two bedroom apt! Oh well if I keep going I will eventually get on top of things. Well got to go do some more stuff! Have a great week everyone!!!
|
Happy Monday everyone!
I'm forcing myself out of my funk, lol. Even though I'm not feeling it 100%. I forced a workout- eating has been just ok- but I am off fast food and junk for the rest of the month!! My weigh-in was pretty bad...(like up 6-7lbs!)- which I know is mostly bloat, but I took a freebie this week. I'm re-focusing and aiming for a good loss for the end of February and again through March. I'm declaring myself done with the C25K official program...I'm going to try to up my runs from 3 to 4 or 5 a week and do a minimum of 2 -10 minute runs with perhaps a couple minute walks between if I need to and work myself up from here on my own. Congrats to everyone else who is staying focused and losing! I'm making tuna steaks and broccoli tonight so at least the eating is cleaned up a bit, lol. |
jasmine987 you look fabulous there certainly is a big difference in face shape!

Girlygirl: I'll let you know what I decide. Other than the fundraising of $2,200, the only thing that scares me is the training for it. I know this would be so good for me health wise. I also think it would be good for me mentally. After doing for everyone else, I think this would help me. It is so easy to loose confidence in self, so this would prove to myself that I can do anything. I also think it would prove to my kids that anything is possible. That would be cool if we both decided to do it, that we could hook up. Are you considering it? I did e-mail them and ask for more info. They said I would get it in the next 2 weeks. I would be really surprised if I did this. I have friends that want to do the 5K run/walk. I would be more like walk with a few burts of runs. As fo the 3 day walk, there is a pretty good website that has the training for it.
SkinnyVibes: Good job on the total gym. I have always wanted one of those. Jasmine: Wow! You can tell a big difference in the face. Great job! Cassie: Congrats on the pounds lost! Have fun at the BD parties. SceneStealer: Thanks for the info. I read through a couple of those post. There is a lot of info on www. Very motivating. Also, great job on the food choice. HuneB: Yeah! The fundraising scares me too. But if you don’t get it all, you don’t have to do it. Catsgettinghealthy: Congrats on the inches lost. Hello Shymoment, Utahgirl, Idealmuse Jlyn: Congrats on the the running program. Tina30: Just wanted to say hello. Thanks for all the support you have given me. |

Just sneaking in a quick entry. My daughter is leaving on a school trip to Boston tomorrow so there are still things to do. Stayed OP today and also walked for an hour after work. I find everybody's entries very motivating. Trying to keep up with all of your hard work!
|
Well, I'm back at the hotel... and this time, no treadmill. They gave me a WestinWorkout room, but this one has a spinning bike in it. I think it's interesting that they don't ask you for a preference. I told the reservationist originally that I was a runner, so I'm surprised to see myself in a biking room. Still, the bike is actually easier to do while using my laptop than the treadmill, and I'm getting a much more intense workout (I am very sweaty as I am typing this). I just wish there was a way to know how many miles I've gone... I am very numbers-oriented :)
Hope everyone is having a great night! I need to get back to work unfortunately. This week is going to be crazy busy... |
About the fundraising. When I got all the information sent to me about the 3 day walk, they were quite adamant that it wouldn't be a problem to raise that amount. But my suggestion to you is...go to businesses, local businesses like attorneys, accountants and such. Don't just rely on individuals for sponsorship, lots of businesses are looking for write offs like charitable donations. You might even get one business to do the whole thing.

I switched running programs tonight. I just cant go for 5 minutes after already doing 3 and only a 1.5 recovery. Just not going to happen. So my choices were to redo Week 3 AGAIN! or switch and I chose to switch because I want to increase my workouts. So tonight I did 1 hour of run 1.5 and walk 3.5. It was fantastic! Good hard workout but I wasnt dying trying to breathe. And you should see how good I'm getting at hula! LOL! I can go for about 10 seconds already!
Okay time to see how many points I've done today and see if I've got room for some icecream! Oh and to fill out weigh ins too! I hope everyone has theirs in. Have a wonderful night! |
Dont forget to post weights!! We've got a couple of regulars who havent posted yet!
|
I've got a serious dilemma tonight as to who to name as the Biggest Loser for our team. The top 2 rarely post, maybe once every other week. Cant say they NEVER participate but at the same time.....
Maybe my most awesome workout has got my brain tired so I'll just sleep on it and make a decision tomorrow!! I do have to say though red team...those of us participating and supporting our team are doing FANTASTIC!!! The REAL red team numbers are out of this world, we are doing so great!!! |
Good evening ladies (or morning since it's 12:38am)
Sorry I've been MIA Sunday and Today but my schedule was pretty hectic and I just didn't have the time to sit at the computer...and when I had an extra few minutes, my son was on it! UGH!!! Sunday I was able to sleep late and then took DS to his basketball game at 12:30pm. they won again! :carrot: AFter the game we went to my brothers house for a Daytona 500 party. It wasn't as dangerous as the Super Bowl party. I brought my WW empenadas and salsa and only had 3 buffalo wings. By the time the day was done I had used 13.5 of my wap's. Not too bad! Today, I slept late again, YAY!! I love vacation! I decided to go shopping for new sneakers and some workout clothes because all of mine are baggy. Well my car broke down and I had to bring it to the garage. Luckily my mom stayed home from work so I was able to use her car and go shopping after all. I am sooo excited, everything I got was Large instead of XL and I got smaller bra's and underwear too! It felt GREAT!! AFter shopping I dropped DS off at his friends house and he slept over there. DBF and I went out to eat at Appleby's and I did well. I had sirloin and garlic mashed and a salad. I had a few of DBF's boneless buffalo wings and when I was done I was over my daily points by 2. After dinner I went to the gym for 90 minutes. I AM SOOOOOOO HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT I DID IT!!! I DID DAY 1 WEEK 4 OF C25K AND ACTUALLY RAN 3 MIN TWICE AND THEN 5 MIN TWICE. :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: I totally shocked myself and I am so proud of myself for pushing it! I didn't think I could do it and I did!!! For the whole program so far I've done all my running at 5.0 and my first 5 min I ran it at 5.0 but after my second 3 min my heart rate was pretty high so I decided to run my second 5 min at 4.5 and it helped. I was able to complete the whole 5 min and not die!!! LOL! So it has been a good couple of days. I've been OP for 52 days in a row and feeling great! Sorry, there are soooo many posts that I couldn't read everything. Congrats to those of you who have had losts and i'm excited to see how we did for week 5. I'll be sure to come back tomorrow and post here and on the exercise thread and vacation thread! Keep up the great work Red Team. WE ROCK!!! Melissa: Great job keeping up with running. C25k is a pretty fast moving program and it's very hard! At least you are still running, that is the important thing, before you know it, you'll be running for 5 min too! Keep up the good work! |
Congratulations, Melissa73! It feels so great when you achieve something that you previously thought was impossible, doesn't it? :)
|
You girls have inspired me to try C25K. One of my friends just asked me to run a half-marathon in our hometown in May. I would really like to do this. Any advice on getting started?
|
Good Morning Teammies!!!
Just dropping in real quick as I head out to work. Had a real hard time getting up at 4:30 after having 4 days off in a row. I was very lazy this weekend! lol Shopping was good yesterday! Macy's loves me I think? I got some new Calvin Klein bedding that is oh so comfy! Oh! And a new down comforter too!!! Perpaps thats why I couldn't get out of bed today! lol Had some major issues with the salesperson that rang us up, I have NEVER in all my shopping experience & especially all my years of retail job experience come across someone SO rude! And at Macys! Ugh! Definitely had a talk with someone about it and apparently this was the 3rd complaint about her that same day. Good grief! So anyways, while I did great with shopping, my food choices were sorta if'y as the day wore on. I ended up using like 12 of my wap's but thank goodness they were there! I wish I could say exercise was an important part of my day, it wasn't. :( I know I need to kick this up to really start seeing some results. Why am I so dang afraid to workout? lol Alright, well the clock is calling me back to reality and time to get a move on. Wishing you all successful on plan days! Make the most, and keep reaching for those goals! Be good to you! |

DAnielle: Kudos to you for even being able to get up that early. I hate mornings and 4:30am is just NOT something I could even consider, UNLESS of course I was doing something fun like a road trip to NYC Or the beach!
