Good morning red team,

I had another great OP day yesterday, that makes 39 days OP in a row. I can't even believe it. :carrot:

Melissa: I did work out for the ENTIRE Biggest Loser Show yesterday, I got to the gym a few minutes late (maybe 5 min) and headed right over to the treadmill and plugged my headphones. I took a few minutes to stretch out my legs before I started walking. I started off with day 2 week2 of C25K, it's amazing how much easier the running is getting for me. I don't feel like I want to die this week. LMAO. AFter my 30 minutes of that, I went over to the bike for 35 minutes, and then did this cybex machine, kinda like the elliptical but without the arms, this is hard but I did 10 minutes on it and then finished up back on the treadmill, then I did more stretching (on the treadmill...LOL) while watching the last minutes of BL. I'm loving the vacation challenge too!! I"m totally lost watching Lost too. What's up with Hurley in the Looney Bin, seeing dead Charlie, Jack visiting him and flash backs, that stuff really gets me confused. But i'm hooked and love it anyway! I guess i'm waiting for someone to finally explain everything. LMAO

Laura: GREAT job with your dinner choices! You were totally in contol. Good for you! I do the same thing with restaurants. Because i'm doing WW I go to www.dwlz.com and this woman dottie has posted the point values to so many foods and meals and tons, and tons of restaurants. I have a booklet of meals I like and when I want to go out I try to go to a place where I know I can keep track of my points. It's so helpful!!!

Tina: Thanks for the boost of confidence. I love working out so as long as I get to the gym, I could stay there all night. :D Last night was 120 minutes, cardio and stretching. I did the challenge and was moving for the entire show. HOw did the Plank during commercials go?

Ideal: Way to go getting on the bike for the biggest loser! Way to motivate yourself and work towards a better loss this week!

Andi: Congratulations on the 1lb loss. A loss is a loss, look at a lb of butter, and be happy that 1lb is off your body forever!

Counting: I have to try some DVD's. I don't have them room at my house to do them, so I buy them and they sit there. I'm more of an outdoors girl and a gym girl. I can't wait until winter is over....biking, hiking and walking. That's what i'm talking about!!!

Let's keep up the good work Red Team and get back in the winning position this week! :carrot:

Hun.e.B 02-06-2008 09:48 AM

Good Morning Red team!! Running late as usual, luckily its not a super busy day for me just have TONS to do for PTA so my day will be spent getting that caught up.

No exercise for me last night, I havent even watched the show yet. But, its a running day for me so I know today I'll get it in! And I did perfect all day long with food and points until after PTA we decided to go see what was going on down town and I had a couple hurricanes! Shame! When I came home I was craving pizza so bad so I had a lean cuisine pizza, not quite the same but it did the job!

I'll be back to catch up with everyone later!

Have a great day everyone!!

Tina30 02-06-2008 10:14 AM

Good morning ladies:coffee: Well yesterday was a much better day for me. I didn't eat like crazy and I got in a great workout. I also got some good news yesterday. We booked our flight for Vegas!!!!:cb: I'm so excited. We are going for one week in June with my SIL and BIL. They are like our best friends, so we are going to have an absolute blast. We all get along so good, and Kev and his sister are total goofs when together. Now I really have a date and finish line that I want to cross. I don't want to be walking the strip for the first time with muffin top:o Today I pick up Joey from school, and I can't wait to hear all about his trip. I did a really dumb thing last night and watched 20/20 about Natalee Hollaway. I can't believe hours before she was supposed to get on a plane and come home she goes missing. I started thinking just get Joey home. I didn't sleep very well last night. That Joran guy is as guiltly as OJ Simpson. He is just an evil person. Anyone who could speak like he did and show no remorse or anything is really evil. I hope this kid gets what is coming to him. Okay onto my today plan....staying OP, exercise, pick up Joey, clean a bit, make dinner, and that should cover it:) I made some homemade chicken soup last night and then some chicken salad made with light mayo...I can't wait until lunch;)

Melissa- Thanks for the kick in the butt...I needed it. So while I was dying doing chair pose and planks your were out drinking hurricanes!LOL! You dirty dog!:) I know you'll get on them today though while watching the show, right??LOL! Those chair poses are pretty hard. I had to do them in 35 second intervals. I also did some step ups and the planks. I like that though and think I'll make that a ritual during the show. Good luck with PTA today~

LadyZaidi- Welcome home...I bet it feels good to be back in your bed!

Danielle- I hear ya about posting and staying OP. I feel like when I come here it gives me the extra boost to keep going!

Laura- Good luck with the restaurant tonight. I just want to tell you that your dedication to exercise even while traveling is wonderful!

Counting- Let us know how you like your kickboxing bootcamp. I've never tried that one I don't think!

OptimistK- Hello, hope your doing well!

Andi- Good luck with the bootcamp. I'm sure like you said it will be tough. They trained with two of the toughest out there:) You'll do great though~

Muse- Great job with riding for 75 min. last night. My butt goes numb all the time when I ride. I wonder what you could do about it. Is there like a special seat or something?

Melissa73- 39 days OP:bravo: I think I'm going to start keeping track and see how long I can go, do you count weekends!LOL! Those are always a little harder for me. The planks were okay during the commercials it was the chair pose that was killer. :dizzy:

Well I'm off to post in our red team challenge. Have a great day ladies~

Quote:

KSK: it's great to hear from you when you can make it. Don't worry about personals. 500 Step ups - sounds like a great personal challenge! You can do it!!
Didn't do it last night, but I still have all week to do it. My baby was sick last night so she would not let me put her down for a second. I hope you have a great day.

Tina30 02-06-2008 11:10 AM

Mom23BC- I hope your little one feels better soon. I hate seeing babies sick:(

Mom23BC 02-06-2008 11:24 AM

Tina30: And you gave me a great idea. It's raining here today, so maybe I'll pull my WII out and play tennis with my kids.

Utahgirl: Congrats on the willpower.

Quote:

Terapet: She hates to go out to eat with us because she says we stare at her!
That brought a smile to my face. I have 3 kids that I just enjoy looking at. Then other times....well....we won't go there.

Jen: Congrats on biggest loser. You guys sound like ya'll are having so much fun. First with the dinner the other night, now this. I know with the olympics coming up this summer, I want to plan something for our group to do concerning the olympics. This kids marathon is what got me thinking about doing something. Didn't do the stepper last night. Baby was not feeling well and she wouldn't let me put her down. I still have all week though to do it. So how did it go for you?
Quote:

Melissa: There are several things that ran through my head SBS when I was so tempted to go off plan:

1. I do not want to go from 37days OP and start all the way back at 1
2. I want to look hot this summer on the beach
3. I want to fit comfortably in my favorite Roller Coaster at Six Flags
4. I want to wear my hot fitted black dress for my Elvis gigs
5. What would I tell my Red Team about SBS if I ate all that? LOL
What a great motivator. Great job on staying on plan for so many days.

Skinnyvibes: I hope it works out better today with the MOM. Have a great day.

Spidermonkey: Congrats on starting the C25K. I know after reading about it from this Thread, I decided to start something for me and my kids.

Huneb: Okay, I guess I missed the challenge....my baby was sick anyways. But I guess I need to go look up the plank position and Chairpose. How is school going?

Idealmuse: I hope you are having a great day!

and on to the next page of this thread!!!!!

Mom23BC 02-06-2008 11:37 AM

LadyZaidi: Way to go with staying on plan and exercising while away.

SugarNSpice: I hope you are having a great day!

SceneStealer: Everytime I read your post....I just think how atheletic you sound. You are where I want to be this time next year.

Shymoment & Andi18: Hello!!!!! How is your day going?

Idealmuse: Great job on the bike!

Nicoyaangle: I hope things are working out for you. It sounds like you are in a stressful situation.

Countingdown: Never tried that series, but I would love a punching bag to use for exercise.

OptimistK: Hello and have a great day!

On to the next page of this thread.........

Mom23BC 02-06-2008 11:45 AM

Tina: Thanks about my little girl. I thought she was teething, but I really think she is getting a cold. So that means, my whole household will get it. Uggh!!!! I love Vegas by the way. It is so much fun seeing all the lights etc. Vegas has so much to do that doesn't have anything to do with gambling. I would love to take my husband there one day. He has never been.

skinnyvibes 02-06-2008 11:59 AM

Good morning ladies!! Today is my day "off" so got lots of errands and laundry to do. Got up early this morning and DH did yoga with me :) We didn't get up as early as we wanted so didn't get the tredmill in, but that's ok, can work on that tomorrow. Drank a TON of water yesterday and even journaled, all day long! Making progress!!! WOOHOOOO :)
Tina~ Vegas, how fun! My DH has never been there. We want to take a vacation somewhere when we hit our goal weight. Just might be Vegas. :)
Mom23~ Hope your little one feels better soon!
I did the plank exercise last night, OH MY GOSH! Well I did that one and the chair one during the commercials on TBL last night. I couldn't do either one for an entire commercial break! Will have to keep doing them and build up to an entire commercial break. :)
Well hope you all have a great day!
Kari

Tina30 02-06-2008 12:08 PM

Kari- Enjoy your day off...moms never really get a day off do they???LOL! That chair pose was killer wasn't it. I'm with ya I need to work up to it. It felt like it was really working though! How cool that your husband gets up to workout with you, that is a good man:) I've never been to Vegas and neither has Kev, so we're both really excited!

Mom23BC-I hate when one person gets sick and it goes through the whole house, that is usually how it happens around here though also. I hope it goes quick for you all! I've never been to Vegas, but my SIL and BIL have gone a bunch of times and they don't gamble. They love just walking around and taking in tall the sights:) I can't wait~

Shy Moment 02-06-2008 12:15 PM

Mom
My day is going great. I am getting ready to move a couple dozen paint buckets out of a hall closet because we are tearing up the carpet and putting wood floors down in the closet and hall way. fun fun lol Hope your little one feels better soon.

Tina30 02-06-2008 12:24 PM

Rennie- What are food floors?

TERAPET 02-06-2008 12:39 PM

Hi y'all,

Well last night was not so good. For one, I forgot to watch Biggest Loser which might have preempted what happened instead. I ended up drinking wine and eating King cake while watching election results! (I did end up voting by the way) My husband started talking about Lent and Fat Tuesday yesterday over a piece of banana cream pie at lunch. Apparently he is going on a diet for Lent so he needed to get in some goodies before the deprivation begins. I was so happy with myself when I resisted the pie but obviously blew things in the evening which is my usual time to overeat, which I am sure has a lot to due with the wine part. Sooooo guess what I am giving up for Lent?! I hate to put that in print since it will be hard for me to do but I guess that is the point of Lenten sacrifices. On the good note, I did go to the Y for the body strengthening class before the wine and cake fest.

Mom23BC-hope the baby feels better soon.

Tina-congratulations on the Vegas vacation plans. Sounds wonderful.

Go Red Team!

Shy Moment 02-06-2008 12:43 PM

WOOD FLOORS say that 6 times real fast lol

melissa73 02-06-2008 12:49 PM

Good afternoon ladies,

I'm eating my lunch and my students are pretty calm today. THANK GOD!!! I love easy days when there are no crisis! My only girl is very, very loud and bossy and it causes alot of problems and arguments amongst the students. She tries, but half the time she doesn't realize she is sooooooo loud. But i'm going to knock on wood because they are all getting along right now. (I say all but there are only 5 of them, 4 today because one of my boys is absent). :D I have 16 pts left for the day! I forgot what I have planned for dinner tonight, I have my menu for the week posted to the frigde. I think it's some kind of chicken!

Tina: LOL, yes I count weekends! It's what keeps me in control on the weekends. But since I weigh in on Saturdays, I am allowed to splurge if I need to with my 35 extra points. I never need to go over that anymore, and most weeks I go without using those extra points and I only use my daily points and some of my ap's. I"m not exactly sure what a plank or a chair pose, explain it to me please so I can join you all and do them. ;) I went to Vegas once when my DS was 2 months old. His father's brother and SIL lived there and we went to visit them. I have a friend that lives there, at the time she was a dancer in the EFX show at MGM Grand and when I had a night to myself I got to see her show, gamble a little and see all the casinos. It was soooo much fun and I'd loooove to go back! Im sure there are so many more sights to see now, 11 years later. They were just starting to build NY NY back then.

Mom: Hope your baby feels better soon! Sick babies are no fun!! Poor little thing!

Kari: I've been looking for a good Yoga DVD. Do use a DVD? if so which one? I really want to start doing some yoga, i'm just not familiar with it and don't want to get just any DVD. Any suggestions?

melissa73 02-06-2008 12:56 PM

Rennie: You'll definitely be getting a good workout moving all those paint cans. ;)

Terapet: Night time seems to be a huge problem for a ton of people. Now that I have been on the WW program and totally Op for 39 days, many of my cravings are gone. I do indulge in 1 bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios with skim milk and it's all I really need in the evening. (I save my points for that of course, or I earn ap's at the gym) I used to eat at night non-stop. It was horrible. I used to think I had a sleep-eating (like sleep walking) problem. I'd go to bed, wake up in the morning with a 1/2 eaten bag of chips next to me, crumbs all over my bed, and no idea when and how it got there. LMAO....pretty sad huh? I"m so glad those nights are behind me now. I haven't had heartburn in 39 days either. shocking...I used to go through a bottle of tums a week. I guess you just need to kick your willpower into high gear and remember (and maybe even write down) the reasons you are wanting to lose weight. Then when you have those reasons in your head, you can weigh which one is more important to you .... wine and cake.....or losing weight! ((((hugs))))

TIP OF THE DAY!!!

Brush your teeth when you know you have eaten enough. No food tastes quite as it should once you’ve brushed your teeth!

Shy Moment 02-06-2008 12:58 PM

melissa
GREAT TIP isn't that the truth. Things taste a bit funny with the taste of toothpaste and wouthwash mixed together lol.

TERAPET 02-06-2008 01:38 PM

Melissa-Thanks for the words of encouragement. I will work on that list today. I had one of those lists a few years ago and it really did help with the my woeful lack of willpower.

Tina30 02-06-2008 01:41 PM

Rennie- Duh wood floors...I'm a dork! With all this new stuff out today though I thought maybe a food floor was something new:) Like I said I'm a dork!

Terapet- I've been hearing a lot about king cake these last few days:) I think it's great that your husband is going to start watching what he eats with you. It's so much nicer when both are on board to plan meals and what not!

Melissa73- Oh so I have to be good on weekends also???LOL! I don't do WW, but I do try to watch my calories. I find on weekends though all this little stuff slips into my diet, but it somehow doesn't slip into The Daily Plate!LOL! I need to get better on that. I know that is a huge part of my problem. I've never been to Vegas so I can't wait...it's going to be a blast I'm sure. Maybe I'll join the show girls on stage if I get myself in shape...yeah right! Okay a chair pose is when you put your back up aganist the wall and sit down like your sitting into a chair. Your knees should be at a 90 degree angle and then you just stay like that as long as you can...I lasted about 35 seconds each time. I also though worked my legs yesterday afternoon, so they were sore to begin with, but they are hard. I could feel my quads working big time. A plank is this....

Here's how to do plank

1. Lie face down on mat resting on the forearms, palms flat on the floor.
2. Push off the floor, raising up onto toes and resting on the elbows.
3. Keep your back flat, in a straight line from head to heels.
4. Tilt your pelvis and contract your abdominals to prevent your rear end from sticking up in the air.
5. Hold for 20 to 60 seconds, lower and repeat for 3-5 reps.

Tina30 02-06-2008 01:43 PM

Melissa73- Not sure if the image will work but Melissa posted in the blue thread and there is a picture there...you have to go a few pages back though to see it:) Hope this helps~

melissa73 02-06-2008 02:07 PM

Tina: Thank you soooo much. Now I know exactly what they both are. No need for a picture. LOL about joining the show girls! :carrot:

Terapet: Glad I could be of assistance. Things on the refrigerator are always helpful. I have a little notebook of notecards that have a different inspirational saying on them. I switch it every morning for my daily inspiration to myself.....today's was "FACE YOUR STUFF DON"T STUFF YOUR FACE!"

Yellofly 02-06-2008 03:05 PM

Hi Red team!

I missed you guys so much this week! I've had a rough couple of days, have been dealing with the chaos of life. Was also dealing with t.o.m. like I hear many others were. lol. I did manage to stay on plan though, and I'm really happy about it. I did submit my weight loss for the week, of course.

I'm going to be around a little less these next few weeks, I'm going to be travelling to the U.S. for a week on the 17th. I hope not to have to take a freebie week, but it may come up, so I'll sign myself up for a potential freebie week when I leave (Just in case), and hopefully I'll be able to check in on the Monday I come back with a weight for you guys.

I haven't been able to catch up with the posts yet, you guys have been busy! lol. I did manage to catch TBL though, and it was my favourite episode yet! I loved the cooking challenge! How do you guys get previews of next week's episode though? We never get to see that! (I'm watching in Canada, on E). Can we see the preview online somewhere?

-Yello.

ksk571 02-06-2008 03:15 PM

Hello RED Team!

I don't have much to report today. Still eating on plan and exercising.

Have a great day!

Mom23BC 02-06-2008 04:00 PM

SkinnyVibes, Tina30, Shymoment, Terapet, Melissa73 & anyone else I may have missed : Thanks for the well wishes for the baby. She is in my arms taking a nap. I am taking a lazy day today, after being up most of the night last night.

Shymoment: It looks like this could be your exercise for the day. I put in wood flooring in my old house. It was a lot of exercise (work).

Terapet: Wow, I haven’t had a king cake in a long time. Mmmm….at least did you manage to get the baby in your piece? Or do they not do that anymore?

Melissa73: Thanks for the tip. Totally agree. I really should do that more often.

Tina: Thanks for the info about the exercises. I was wondering what they were.

Yellow: I don’t know about the previews, but the previews made it look like next week was a week you don’t want to miss. Have you tried looking on NBC.com? Have a good trip.

KSK: Good job staying on plan and exercising.

chellez 02-06-2008 04:00 PM

Tina - miss the big blue yet?

Shy Moment 02-06-2008 04:30 PM

Mom
These are pretty easy they are hard wood but cut to snap together. The wood floors under the carpet just weren't in good enough shape to refinish them.

Tina
You never know with the new stuff out lol.

Melissa
I am NOT moving those paint cans for awhile. I will toss them out the window before I move them again for at least a few days. I thought my arms were going to fall off lol. Between primer and paint there were 60 cans and I had to take them down then down the basement stairs then over to the other side of the basement.

skinnyvibes 02-06-2008 04:49 PM

Melissa~ I don't use a DVD. On my cable they have fit tv and I get it off of there. It's like free pay per view. The one I have been doing is AM Yoga, it's for beginners. I just started doing yoga so I couldn't point you in the right direction. Sorry.

Tina30 02-06-2008 05:20 PM

Well I got my Joey back home safe and sound!! YAY! He had a really good time, and said he wishes he could of stayed one more day. I was thinking good Lord 3 days almost killed me, and he wants to stay longer!LOL! I'm glad he had fun though, and I'm glad he is home safe in mama's nest! I'm trying to decide what I want to do for exercise today...gym or at home???? It is really crappy outside...rain/snow, I guess they call that sleet huh?LOL! I just haven't been to the gym in forever and I'm missing it. I have a ton of laundry to do from Joey's trip...maybe that was one nice thing about him being gone I didn't have half the laundry I do when he's home;) J/K I missed him like crazy! I was showing him how much I've improved on guitar hero. He was like "mom I beat all the easy songs and most of the medium" well shoot you think you could be anymore of a killjoy!LOL! I was really impressed with myself. Okay I'm off to switch loads of laundry and see if my youngest is ready to come out of time out...maybe he could go to sleep away camp for a few days!LOL! Just playing~

Hun.e.B 02-06-2008 06:11 PM

Good evening ladies!! Sorry I've not done a single personal today its just been one of those days. a productive day so I rode the wave LOL! Its different from those homework days where I need the constant homework break just to make it throught auditing!

I did my run today, the last 3 minutes almost killed me but I did it! I've decided that since on MWF I am at the gym I need to stay at the gym and get some resistance training done. So before Friday I need to come up with a workout to do so I am prepared.

I have no idea what to do for dinner which means I've gotta run to the store...I HATE the store! Especially this time of day when everyone and their dog is there getting dinner too.

Tonight I will be making it up to my red team and getting that plank and chair attempt done while I watch TBL. And I promise that I wont even fast forward the commercials while I do it! LOL!

Today has been a MUCH better day, I should be right on with points. That needs to happen thursday and friday too before I gotta meet the scale on saturday or its going to be ugly and i'll be sad. I'm supposed to get my 5 lbs sticker on saturday!!

Anyone have a good healthy crock pot recipe they wanna share?

Have a wonderful evening red team!!

CountingDown 02-06-2008 07:32 PM

Melissa - I like Gaim's "Yoga Conditioning For Weight Loss" DVD. There is actually a boxed set - Quickstart, Conditioning, and Maintenance. My favorite is the conditioning. You pick Full modification, 1/2, 1/4 or no modifications. So it really is a good workout - no matter what your level of flexibility. I usually do the workout 2-3 times per week.

My review of Kickbox Bootcamp. The instructor is the same one (Keli Roberts) that does my "Pumping Rubber" video that came with my resistance bands. She is a very good instructor (British Accent) and the pace is good. I tried 4 of the 5 segments.
BASIC TRAINING - I liked it! Good workout, slow instruction, but got my heart rate up where it needed to be

ARM & SHOULDER SCULPTOR - uses dumbbells - you pick your weight. I had a bit of trouble not punching myself in the chin with my 3 lb weight (I can be a klutz sometimes), but once I got the hang of it, it was a good workout - my shoulders are still feeling it.

UTIMATE BUNS & THIGHS - leg work while using the dumbells too. I definitely was breathing hard - using so many muscles at once really had me feeling it!

FAT BURNING BLAST - I gave up after the first couple minutes. She went into squat thrusts and I had horrible flashbacks from high school gym class (and we are talking 35 years ago people)! I will probably be skipping that segment.

TERAPET 02-06-2008 08:22 PM

No wine or cake tonight, yeah! Thankful for small victories.

Mom23BC-strangely our King Cake did not include that funny little plastic baby. There was a plastic angel instead that was about twice the size of the usual baby. Perhaps the store was afraid of someone choking on the baby.

Scenestealer 02-06-2008 10:39 PM

Mom23BC - thank you so much!!! That makes me feel so great :)

Terapet - I decided to give up all sweets. I know that's a fairly common one, but I've never done it before because I never had a sweet tooth until now. But day one and I am already struggling!!! This will be a big challenge, but will also be really good for me. My new debate is... what should I count as a sweet? I was initially thinking pastries/ice cream/cookies/etc, but then there are some treats like frozen bananas, yogurt, or all-fruit smoothies that aren't quite "sweets", but substitute for them. If I can just sub those, it's kind of like I didn't give anything up? Not sure yet - still deciding. I did have a smoothie today when my whole team went out for them (so if I decide to ban smoothies/frozen bananas I already kind of cheated), but it was instead of a Dunkin Donuts hot chocolate which I think is definitely more of a sweet than an all-natural smoothie.

Melissa - TOTALLY agree with you on the brushing your teeth tip. I do that a lot when I'm hanging out at home at the end of the night and know I'm going to feel like binging soon.

I'm totally bummed because I was looking forward to staying at the Westin next week, where they have "Westin Workout Rooms", meaning hotel guest rooms with exercise equipment IN the rooms. Now I find out that there are only two of those in the whole hotel, and they're impossible to get without status, and I don't have any real status at Starwood yet. Also, they're supposed to have a "Run Westin" program where they have a "running concierge" who leads 3-5 mile running tours of Boston every morning. I called today to find out what time they are, and they cancelled the program!!! That sucks so much. I think I may just stick with the Hilton again next week, because I love that the gym here is 24 hours. Last night I went at midnight, which I wouldn't be able to do at Westin unless I somehow managed to get one of those Westin Workout rooms.

My only complaint about the Hilton gym (which is brand new and GORGEOUS and has tons of great equipment) is that the ellipticals are somewhat uncomfortable. I like to hold onto the grips on the elliptical (I know it can decrease your calorie burn - I don't grip them for dear life; I just use them as a place to set my hands b/c otherwise I don't know what to do with them!), but the angle is really weird and I have to hunch forward in order to do that. And then that prevents me from really pushing with my heel. I ended up with a TERRIBLE cramp in my left foot (like, the kind where your toes bend in at weird angles and you have to kind of hold them tight and straight because it feels like they might break). I've gotten that once or twice before (usually in the middle of the night), but today it went on for literally 5 minutes and I had to just sit on the weight bench gripping my toes! So weird... not sure what causes that, as I've been eating pretty well lately.

Last night in the hotel for the week - I'm excited to be going back to NYC, home cooking, and my real gym with the comfy ellipticals :) Hope everyone has a great night!

Hope everyone had a great day! Mine was going wonderfully until I picked my son up from school. Went to go start my car and it wouldn't turn over. :( It's been acting up a bit so I guess it finally decided it was time to die. At least it did it in front of my son's school and not on the 20 mile stretch of interstate I take to and from work. So, had to pull hubby out of his meeting to come get us. Called AAA (LOVE having AAA!!!). They came out about an hour after I called them, the guy was real nice, tried jump starting my car (my hubby and I both thought it was the starter but the AAA guy swore it was the battery). He couldn't get a good connection tho so I watched my car get towed away to the dealership :( I called Hertz to see about getting a rental car, yeah, they had nothing available for me until tomorrow morning at 6:30am if I wanted to have my hubby drive me all the way to the Omaha airport (25 minute drive), or at 7:30am if he wanted to drop me off near the car dealership. Choice 1, not going to work as we can not drop Jon off at school until 7 which would mean we would have to drive all the way across town to get the rental, than one of us would have to drive all the way back across town to drop him off at school, then drive all the way back across town again and then some to get to work. Choice 2, not going to work because I need to be on interstate by 7:30 to get to work on time, granted I could get to work late tomorrow, but Choice 1 and 2 are honestly not going to work because trying to get my hubby up before 8am is not a pretty site! THANKFULLY, we have friends (hubby & wife) that work at the same place as my hubby does, our friends carpool to work together so they don't use both of their cars!! So instead of driving my Grand Prix, I am driving our friend's little Prizm...I'm not used to driving such a small car!! LOL We'll see if I get my car back tomorrow. I'm hoping this doesn't cause a problem with the bootcamp tomorrow... :^:

Andi, car trouble is the worst! Though I have to say, I love driving and miss it now that I'm in NYC and can't have a car. Last week when I had a conference down in Delaware, I opted to rent a car instead of taking the train like most people... it was so fun to be driving again! Funny the things you miss...

Good Evening Everyone! I'm doing well today.

Terapet-- Evenings are hard for me too. That's my favorite time for ice cream. What is King Cake? Why does it have a plastic baby in it? I've never heard of that before.

Melissa-- Good job with your points today and with your run! I'd love some good crockpot recipes too.

Tina-- I'm so glad Joey had a good time and came back safe. It's hard to let our kids grow up sometimes, isn't it? My daughter wants to go to an overnight Girl Scout camp this summer. I'm kind of nervous about it, but I'm sure she'll have a great time. Your Vegas trip sounds like fun. Me--I grew up going to Vegas all the time because my Grandma and Grandpa live there. I prefer going other places because I've been Vegas-ed out.

Rennie--I hope your home improvements turn out wonderfully. I'm sure the wood floors and new paint will make things beautiful.

Mom23BC-- I hope the baby is feeling better tonight. I was a baby last night and didn't do the 500 step ups. My nose was stuffy and I couldn't breathe well so I only exercised for 5 minutes before wimping out. I'm going to do at least 20 minutes on the treadmill tonight.

Karen-- Glad your still on plan. Thanks for checking in.

Yello-- Great to hear that you stayed on plan despite a rough week. I hope everything goes well while traveling.

Melissa73-- You're doing awesome staying OP so many days in a row. It's a great idea to keep track. I'm sure it's very motivating! Yoga Shakti is a great yoga DVD. It's more advanced so if you're new to yoga or not very strong (like me), you may have to modify some moves. But it's a beautifully done DVD that will last as you get stronger.

Kari-- I hope you had a great "off" day and got all your errands done! That chair pose is killer, isn't it? I haven't been able to do one for the whole commercial yet.

LadyZaidi-- Welcome Home!

Danielle-- It's good to hear from you. I think the board is very motivating. I think about the chicks here every time I want to totally blow off watching calories.

Laura-- You're doing awesome. I'm sure home will be a welcome sight after being gone for awhile.

Counting-- Thanks for the reviews on the DVDs.

OptimistK-- Hi!

Andi-- Congrats on the 1 pound loss! So sorry to hear about your car trouble. What a pain! I hate may van. It's always having trouble.

Muse-- Woohoo for hauling up the bike and exercising for so long during the show last night.

Nicoya-- I hope things work out for you soon. It's a tough situation you're in right now.

Yay!! I stuck to plan yesterday and got in my workout!! So proud of myself.

Unfortunately this morning I've got a quiz that I've got to memorize for. I dont know about anyone else but I dont do well with memorization. I'll know it for the quiz but then it'll be gone by the end of the afternoon. Another reason why I hate auditing! LOL!

So I'll be back this afternoon to check in! Have a great day Red team!!!

Good morning ladies~ I have a pretty busy day ahead of me, so I didn't go back to bed this morning. I am helping at Joey and Madison's schools today. I have to go to Joey's right when I get the Madison and Kyle onto the bus, and then leave his school after about and hour and a half to head over to Madison's school to help. Not sure if my sister is coming over tonight. I may have to watch the baby again tomorrow. I'm going to my MIL's tonight though with my SIL for a chat session. I need to get the heck out of this house. My sister and I got into it yesterday afternoon. Well I should say I got into it, and she sat on the phone and cried. I've just had enought of her crap. She is 26 yrs. old, and it's time to get her stuff together. She is the one who hooked up with this loser, and trust me my whole family had been telling her for the 5 yrs. she was with him that he was a LOSER! I mean for real no job, 2 other kids, no money, no car, NOTHING, and that's not the worst of it he's in jail right now for selling drugs to an undercover police officer...I like to call him Mr. Dumb*ss! This guy is taking my sister and now my nephew down with him, and I won't sit by and watch it. I just don't get what the hold is that he has on her. She is so pretty, but her self esteem is crap! She is a bigger girl, but I tell you guys she is one of the prettiest girls I know, and I'm not just saying it because she's my sister. I just hate that she lets him use her, and she thinks nothing of it. I basically told her that I'm not going to continue to help her as long as she's with him. I won't support her if she is not going to try and help herself. I also asked her if this is the type of male role model she wants for her son. She is a very whining person, and that was driving me insane yesterday. I'm over the freaking tears already. She was telling me how it's hard because she is all on her own...HELLO! What the heck do you think we've been telling you all along...did you think having a baby would make him get his life together. Shoot he already has 2 that he can't take care of, so what made you think you would get anymore then them. Not only does she support him, but when his other kids are over she supports them also. I've just had it, and so has my poor mother. My mom has been paying her rent ever since Antonio was born, and working a weekend job to do so. That is insane to me...the father up until he went to jail, sat home while my mom worked to pay their rent. I told my mom also though that she was stupid for helping them. You think they'll ever learn with you spoon feeding them. I guess it just upsets me because I had Joey when I was 17 yrs. old, and granted Kevin was always there for me and his son we still had to do it on our own. I was still in hs and working, Kev was working full time, and we made it work between us. My mom and MIL did help a lot with babysitting while I finished hs, but other then that it was Kev and I. I can't listen to her crying anymore. I told her that crying won't solve anything, she needs to ditch the loser and go get the help she needs and move on. Nothing in life is free, and she just thinks the help will come to her and fall right into her lap! Sorry for the rambling, but she has me fired up!!! Okay I better move along here...

Laura- I can't believe you workout at midnight...after working all day long. Girl your the most dedicated person I know when it comes to working out:) Keep it up!

Andi- I hope your car gets fixed soon. I have to say though I drive an SUV and when I drive my husbands little work car, I love it. I think it's so zippy!

Jen- How cool to have grandparents that live in Vegas. I hear it's a beautiful place to see

Karen- Hello...I love the new avatar...that dog is so pretty!

Yello- Great job of staying OP while having TOM...that is really hard for a lot of people

Melissa- You go girl, pushing through the run at the last 3 min. even though it was hard. What do they say on TBL..."This is what will make or break you" something like that :) Did you ever find a crock recipe yesterday. I didn't know any off hand, but I love the cooking light website. Good luck with your quiz today.

I'll try to check back in later to get all you gals I missed! Have a great day everyone:)

Tina30 02-07-2008 09:22 AM

Cathy- Feel better soon:)
