Jas, Karen, and Andi - I am also of the shy and quiet type which is why most posts aren't that long most of the time... so you're not alone. I deal with social anxiety issues in the real world. :(
|
Hey girls, I just got back from the gym about an hour ago. Did an hour of 20 minutes spinning, 15 minutes abs, 15 minutes weights, 10 minutes treadmill. It was less structured tonight as both Amy & Marty now have the flu so Amy showed up to give us an assignment then went home to rest. I am even more sore now though, add 20 minutes of spinning onto an already sore bum and that is just not good news!! I worked out with someone that I had met from the MPMU so that was fun. It is great to be able to go there and see a familiar face. Tonight there was only 5 of us there. Next week boot camp is cancelled as they have a speaking engagement somewhere out of town so I will be in a funk not going to boot camp. :( I'll make it up somehow though.
I hope everyone had a good day. Can't wait for tomorrow to get here! I am so looking forward to another 3 day weekend! Of course the 6 hour drive back home on Sat morning and then back on Mon is not going to be fun. Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!!! |
Andi
Sounds like you had a great time. Sounds like fun. Ideal In the " real world " I am painfully shy. The way I chat with all of you is how I chat with people I have known for years and years. My husband thinks it is so funny when someone from on line meets me face to face. They expect me to be the " flash " the dealer kind of girl and find out I am an " arm pit hider " lol. Cathy That is just wonderful. You have to feel so good about yourself. All of us, from time to time, get off track a bit. All we can do is hop back on the wagon seat, point the horses in the right direction and not stop for the sarsaparilla. Counting I have always loved to be around the elderly ( over 70 ). Like them much more than the young or even people my own age. They are survivors. They have seen what we will never see and experienced things we only read about in books. I love their strength and their zest for life. Even those that can't get around anymore. You watch their face as they talk about things from the past, that many of them no longer have anyone to share the memories with. They need to not forget what they do remember, it is what makes them special people. Terepet Sounds like fun but a lot of work. Hun Be careful you can do some damage like that. ksk I go Thur bouts of anxiety and depression. There was a time a doc told me I was bi polar and had me on enough drugs to keep a horse down. I was a zombie all the time. I changed docs and had decided that was enough of the drugs. Didn't see where they were helping. This new doc talked to me forever it seemed. He said you are not bi polar. You have ********** what ever that was lol. It has to do with chemistry and sunlight and a few other things. Now we have learned to live with the moods ( my husband is so great ) and we got me a sun lamp. I still have the down moods and anxiety's sometimes but knowing what is wrong sure helped make it better. The hardest thing is not being able to leave the house or be around more than 5 people at a times. This seems to happen a few times a year. jasmine Sometimes just a hello and letting us know how you are doing is all it takes. Not everyone has a way with words or chats a lot. There are times I don't see or talk to anyone, even the people that live here with me. I like the smile you have in your pic. Just your pic is uplifting. My daughter said you look like me lol. I am trying hard to eat enough food a day. Hasn't been happening the last few days. This ulcer thing is starting to act up ( so far not as bad as in the past ). Go figure it is going to be spring soon and that is when it hits. Life is good even so, the house is cleaned, the laundry is done, the check book balanced and all the bills are paid. Sometimes, we have to take pleasure in the everyday things. |
terapet~ sorry DS has constipation, DD (Dr wants to prescribe antidepreeants for) has abdominal pain. definitely going to go natural path. thanks for listening to my rants today ladies! I appreciate it.
|
I'm here and I'm sorry I've not been around, just trying to catch up around the house since the kids didn't go to back to school til Wednesday and now it's the weekend again! I need to head downstairs to workout but just wanted to pop in and say hey. I only have laundry to do today so I'll be back to catch up with the posts. I hope everyone is doing well. BBL.....

Jasmine-I agree with Shy. I noticed that right away about your pictures. You really have a sweet smile!

Good Morning Red team! I had a fantastic day yesterday. Stuck to plan all day long! I hula hooped for most of Lost. Still working on getting the hang of things but it sure is fun! I promised Danielle that I would take measurements today so I need to do that.
I figured out I have Fit tv. My mom was asking me about something called Shimmy, well its on at 11 so I'm going to check it out. But, I'm most looking forward to hitting the gym today. Keeping my fingers crossed for a loss tomorrow morning since I had 3 off days this week!! My plan is to get my workouts done and then work on blogs so I'll be back later on to see how everyone is doing. Anyone have big plans for this weekend? Have a wonderful OP everyone! |
Since we havent had one in forever how about a question to fire up some chatter. Have you tried any new recipes lately? Can you share it?
|
Happy Friday Ladies!
Another busy day ahead at work, but thought I'd pop in to say Hi and wish everyone a wonderful day! Had another great food day yesterday and was finally down on the scale this morning - tomorrow is my WW WI so I hope to be the same or down a little more! I printed out the schedules for all of the gyms in my area that I have access to and am going to highlight the classes that interest me and that I'm able to work into my schedule. There's a Zumba class tomorrow morning and since I've been hearing so much about Zumba around here, I think I will give it a go :carrot: Hope everyone has a great OP day! |
Deb - Zumba is a latin dance-inspired exercise class. It is a lot of fun. I hope you like it!

I don't know how you can do anything else while LOST is on! ;) I sit and stare at the tv the entire time and I still miss stuff!! :dizzy: Love it though! |
Good morning ladies! Well scale isn't showing a loss yet....Actually showing a slight gain. Hoping I can get it down before WI. I have lots of chores for DS to do today, also have to go to his school and pick up his school work for him to do. Not to mention find a holisitc Dr for my kiddos to start seeing. Going to be a busy day today for sure. Oldest DS is already getting on my nerves, and we still have another week to go before he can go back to school. ARGGGG :) Well had better get moving. Hope everyone has a great day today.
|
LOL Karen...thats how I am too, luckily with hula hooping I can just stare at the TV, but I will admit most of the hooping came during the commercials! I was gonna say last nights show was a little boring and then we find out Kate's son is Aaron!!! What the heck happened to Claire!? LOL!
Kari...dont worry too much about that ol scale! You are doing great and the results will show! Can I borrow a son for chores? LOL! I dont know about boys but it is SO HARD to get girls to help! At least mine anyway. I forgot to mention that I finally watched the show last night. I'm loving the Blue team, they are so focused! I think Dan especially, now that his mother is gone that boy has really turned himself around. But, the best part of the whole show came in the first 30 seconds when I got to see Danielle hugging Betty Sue! Made me kinda sad though, when I saw her as an actually moving, breathing person I realized how much I miss her! (our primary communication is the internet) Cant wait to see her at the finale when we win this thing! Okay back to cleaning the kitchen! |
Melissa~ My daughter does much MUCH better at cleaning then my son does. He cuts corners, so he has to redo things and then gets an attitude with me about it. I tell ya! TEENAGERS! Can you tell he is frustrating me today?! LOL
|
LOL Kari...my dd turns 13 in just a few short days but I swear she's been acting like a teen since she turned 9. And now my youngest just turned 9 and OMG!!! the moods and the attitude! She used to be my happy go lucky girl! Its good to hear its not just my kids though, I guess none of em are all that eager to help out LOL! I do have some advice for you though...duct tape! LOL!

Good afternoon Red Team.
Well yesterday was day #55 OP and it was as close to a perfect day as I can get. I planned my menu from morning till bed time and stuck to every drop of food and even had 1pt left over when I went to bed, AND I earned 11ap's. I stepped on the scale this morning and I was back down to 226...so i'm hoping for about a 2lb loss tomorrow at my weigh in. *fingers crossed* Today it's snowing and I already earned 1 ap for shoveling for 20 minutes outside. I worked up a sweat and it felt good. The snow was light this time. I was relaxing in my room and someone knocked on the door. It was my DS's father. He lives in Florida and he showed up with this huge parka on looking for Torre. Well Ds was at a friends house so I called him to come home for a minute. he argued with me and I said, just leave your stuff there and come home someone is here to see you! He was shocked to see his father. He only see's his dad once a year on his birthday in May and that's it. He used to go see his dad for the summer (like 4-5 weeks) but he stopped doing that 2 years ago. So it was a nice surprise for him. I guess my ex's brother was stabbed the other day and is in the hospital, so he came up to see him. He's only here for a few days so i'm taking DS over to my ex's mothers house later today so he can hang out with his dad! He's probably not thrilled about it because he is always so bored when he's with him. Which is why he doesn't go to Florida anymore. But, at least he can see his dad for a few days and his dad can see him play basketball tomorrow! Hope everyone has a great day. No time for personals. Gotta jump in the shower! |
Good afternoon ladies! I'm just popping in for a second to say hi. I have my youngest home sick with a fever. He is resting on the couch right now. I feel so bad for the little guy. We don't have much going on this weekend. Madison has a b-day party tomorrow afternoon, and I have to grocery shop. Other then that though pretty chill weekend:) I made the gym yesterday for my cardio, so today I'm doing strength training at home and tomorrow will be my last gym day for the week. Sunday is my day of rest. I'll be back later to do personals. I'm going to try and finish some stuff up around the house while Kyle is resting. Hope your all doing well today~
|
Kari, I am the same way; I hate taking medications unless I absolutely HAVE to. I certainly don't eat an all-organic diet or anything, but I try to be at least somewhat careful of what I put into my body.
Jasmine, I'm glad to see you reading even if you don't post a lot :) Melissa, I used to love FitTV! We had it on our TV in college and it was one of my fav channels. Unfortunately, my current cable provider doesn't have it. I have plenty of exercise DVDs, but there was some other programming on there that I just really liked. Today was a bit crazy. I was supposed to be on the 6 AM flight out of Boston, but that was cancelled, so I was going to be on the 6:30, which was delayed 30 minutes or so. Not a huge problem. I boarded, waited on the tarmac for a while, and then we flew to New York. When we got over New York, they announced a ground stop on airports because the weather conditions made it too dangerous to land. After circling for a while, they announced that we were too low on fuel to keep circling so... we headed back to Boston. Landed there around 9 and switched planes. We then waited (on the plane) for about 30 minutes until LaGuardia was open again, and headed out to our runway. As we were waiting on line to taxi off, now LOGAN imposed a ground stop: no planes could take off because of the weather. Waited another 30 minutes, until a passenger insisted that they wanted to get off the plane because they were going to miss their connection anyway. So back to the gate, and we then missed our spot in the takeoff line. We then waited for another two hours on the plane, finally leaving around 12:30 PM. I got home at 2:30 PM, and wow... I am just exhausted. On the brighter side, I have plans with some good friends for tonight that I'm excited about. I did fairly well with eating today, and am on plan so far - we'll see if I can keep it up with going to dinner tonight. Speaking of which, here's one thing that's kind of interesting... I've been eating out so much lately that I'm not too happy about going to dinner tonight. I really want to just cook at home and grill up some fish and veggies. Traveling seems to be weaning me of my "going out to eat is a special occasion" thinking! :) |
Laura
Just think, all that time on the planes you dont have time to eat lol. |
Hi everybody,
Just wanted to check in and say hi and let you know I have managed to stay OP since I started back up on Tuesday and I have also managed to exercise three times this week, and hoping I can get another one in by Sunday. I read a few posts and like the others, I too have a hard time with posting as much as I should. That is one of the things I have always struggled with as I am not good with sharing my thought and expressing myself. I admire and envy all of you that post and do personals all the time so for now I will try to do my best to just at least pop in daily and keep up with you all, hopefully one day I can do personals to. Well, I have to go get all my stuff ready for my wedding tomorrow...I have my own company which I do hair and makeup for as well I do work full time all week in an office, plus try to run a household with two young teenagers which is a job in itself (mind you they are my everything and so is hubby)...so I will try my best to improve and be a better team member. Take care everybody! |
Laura that definitely sounds like an exhausting morning even though it was all on the plane! Glad to see you made it home safely. Hope you have a great night out with your friends.
I am going to be heading out of town tomorrow morning. I may not have time to check in over the weekend. I am probably going to have to take a freebie this week as I won't be able to weigh in on Monday as I normally do for the weigh in here. Hope everyone has a great weekend! |
A quick fly-by to say hello. I read everyone's posts - it was a busy day! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
I'm off to finish doing my taxes :( and FAFSA application for DS. |
Just got home from the gym, I did 1 hour of running for 1.5 minutes and walking for 3.5 minutes. Man, am I sore and tired! Hopefully it'll do me some good for tomorrow's weigh in!
|
Way to go Mel - I know what you mean about feeling it but awesome on doing the whole hour! The first few weeks I was a bit sore too. I just bumped mine up to 4run and 2 walk. I felt fine at the time (although the last 2 were hard) but when I got home I felt over-worked so I took it easy and just walked a bit today.
I signed up for a beginner Tri Swimming class which is tomorrow morning. I don't have a suit but I didn't know I actually was still in the class until tonight so I ran out to target. Nothing there worked for anything more then sitting around in a bathing so I ended up with some just below the knees legging type things which were similar in material to a bathing suit, and a sportsbra/top. I asked if I could wear shorts and she said yes, so I hope this still acceptable. I'll look for something more suitable later this week. I'm hella nervous. I haven't swam much since I was a teen. |
Good morning ladies,
No time for personals, I'll get to those tomorrow. I just had to post quickly that I lost 3lbs this week. YIPEE! I"m so excited. That means only 1.2 away from my 10% goal and 2.2 away from my 25lbs. I will meet BOTH of those goals next Saturday! I"m sooo excited! I hope everybody has a great day today! I have a busy one. At around 10pm mom and I are going to go shopping at the Whole Food Store and Old Navy and to our favorite Crystal/spiritual shop on the way. Then DS has his last basketball game of the season at 2pm so i'm meeting him and his Dad there! He is so concerned that Dad won't get him there on time, typical, so I assured him that i would call him at 1pm and if they hadn't left by 1:15pm to call me and I'd go get him. LOL. He knows his father way too well! then I have an Elvis gig about 30 min away tonight at 8pm and I have to be there around 7ish so I have to leave here at 6:30pm. I won't be back home until late and will probably be tired, so I'll check back in tomorrow morning! XOXO HOpe everybody has a great On Program Day! Go Red Team!!! |
Good morning ladies! I can't believe it's Saturday morning and I'm up before 10:00!LOL! Madison has a b-day party though at 1 today so I figured I'd do the gym this morning, drop her off at her party this afternoon, and grocery shop while she's at the party:) I was going to do the gym while she was at the party, but then I wouldn't be getting ready for the day until like 3ish and that seemed way to late, even for me:) So that's my plan. Today is just cardio at the gym. Last night I bought myself an 8lb medicine ball...I LOVE IT! I tape my strength training shows off Fit Tv and a lot of them use the ball. I tried a core workout last night with the ball, and WOW what a difference 8lbs makes. I promise I'll get back sometime today for personals. Kyle was feeling awful yesterday, so I never did make it back, and right now I just don't have time. I'm just popping in to say hi while my car warms up. I'll be back later gals:) Enjoy your Saturday~
|
Good Saturday Morning Red team!! How is everyone?
No time for personals this morning, I've got piles and piles of things I need to get accomplished this weekend, and it seems like once I get started on this computer its REALLY hard to get away from it and get to doing what I need to. I didnt sleep that great last night for some reason, not sure if it was because my legs were so sore or what. I've got so much going on in my head with school and PTA, and now starting a new PTA at middle school....not stress just lots and lots of ideas and what I need to get done. My legs dont feel too bad this morning, little stiff but the hot shower helped. I was hoping to go to the gym again today but not sure its gonna happen. So noone had a recipe to share? Muse....it does feel incredible to do a whole hour and my last 2 reps were pretty slow LOL! Good luck at your swim class!! Cant wait to hear how it goes! Okay time to get ready for weigh in!!! Fingers crossed for a good one! |
Good Saturday Morning Ladies!
Had a great weigh-in at WW this morning - I was down 1.2 lbs which is the most I've lost yet for this challenge. It also means that I've lost all of the pre-Holiday and Holiday weight gain. 7 lbs gone since New Years! I chickened out of doing the Zumba class this morning - I'll do it next Saturday, I should be able to work up the nerve by then. I've always had trouble exercising in a group setting until I do the first couple of classes and then I'm hooked. Melissa - I have lots of great new recipes that I've tried over the past few weeks in my Sunday cook-a-thons. I'll post some either later tonight or tomorrow. Have a great day everyone! |
That would be fantastic Deb!! I'm looking forward to them! I'm hoping to find some new stuff. I've fallen in love with crock pot recipies where I can throw stuff in and go! Way to go on your weigh in!!! That is FANTASTIC!! Excellent job this week, keep it up!! Can you believe I still dont have my holiday gain off yet....course it was 19 lbs! OYE!
|
Good morning ladies! Well I forgot to post recipes the other day. I have been trying a new recipe almost every night for the last 3 weeks. Most of them have been so yummy! I also have a huge file of just WW crockpot recipes. If anyone would like them, email me at [email protected] and I'll email them to you. Hope everyone has a great day today. Not alot planned here for the weekend. :) Hopefully we'll have a nice relaxing weekend.

They sound very good. Going to sit tonight and figure out calories and fat and carb count. Thank you
|
Good morning teamies! I missed you all.
I'm back from my mom's. Thanks for all the good wishes. She's really doing remarkably well. One of her best friends died of cancer recently and the funeral is today. So she'll be going to the funeral and that will be her first real outing since surgery. She thinks she could get by using her cane to walk, but my dad is insisting she use the walker since she could get jostled by the other people in the church. I did great at my mom's house. She asked me to go buy her chocolate chip cookies and ice cream (my temptation). I didn't eat any of it. I got myself one of the 100 calorie snacks instead. So I was happy about that. Hope everyone has a successful weekend! |
Had a good night out, though I ate more than I should've afterward. Good stuff though - I had some whole wheat crackers, some prunes, etc. And I'm not beating myself up about it because today I am staying totally on-plan, and then doing a really long run tomorrow. Hopefully 17 miles!
I post recipes for everything I cook on my blog. I just started doing that about a month ago, but there are 40 or so recipes up there now. I include calorie information for everything, as well as a link to the entry on DailyPlate where you can get the rest of the nutritionals - so if you want to calculate WW points, it would be pretty easy. Most of the meals I cook are 400-600 calories. Hope that helps someone! |
Kari- I tell ya getting my 11 yr. old son to do anything around here is like pulling teeth. He does it, but like you said yours does, he takes lots of short cuts! Thank you for posting all those recipes. That soup sounds really good:)
Melissa73- Congrats girl on the weight loss this week!!! That is fantastic:) I love Old Navy...I haven't been there in awhile though. That is the one store I wish would come to my town, and a Sams Club:) I hope your son is having a good time with his dad. Laura- I would go mad with delays like that...God love ya:) Glad to hear you had a nice time last night. It's so fun to go out with friends and just relax! Sara- My daughter just went to a b-day party today, and they all got their hair and make-up done. I walked in and her hair looked great, but her make-up was a little scary!LOL! They told me she wanted to do her own:) Counting- Did ya get your taxes done? It's always a relief once that is over with! Melissa- Your doing so good with your running program! Keep it up girl:) Muse- You'll do great at your swim class. I have to start looking for a suit...not the funniest thing in the world for me!LOL! Deb- Fantastic loss this week! Keep up the great work:) Jen- Now that is what I call GOOD! Eating a 100 calorie snack while there are cookies and ice cream. Great job! Rennie- How's it going? Hope your having a great weekend! Karen- I never got into Lost, but if I call my mom while it's on she won't answer:) Andi- Have a nice weekend...enjoy your trip:) Cakes, Roni, Mom23BC, Cat, Barbara, Cecil, Tera, and Jasmine hope your having a fantastic weekend~ |
Hi Red team, thought I'd pop in and say hello!
So I am in Walmart today to pick up a few things I couldn't afford yesterday, and I looked at all these cute skinny girl clothes and wished I could get them. O'well.....I decided I best get my butt back on the treadmill and get to work and maybe by years end, I WILL be in the pretty clothes sizes. Anywho...I cruise on over to the Teeshirts because I need a couple more to wear to the GYM and yanno, I just couldn't bring myself to buy ANYMORE FAT clothes! I am just so sick of having to buy 3x shirts dang it! Has this happened to any of you? I'm over it.... Anyway, I have a VERY busy week next week. Gotta get the dog fixed, a cat, me and Matt BOTH have doc appt's on Tuesday, another one on Wednesday....gotta look for a job...I feel so self conscious about going out and looking for ajob. I feel like not only do I have the fact that i haven't worked in 6 yrs going against me, but I also have my weight, yanno? I may apply for one @ Dollywood... I dunno...sigh....much to do, PLUS I am gonna work out as much as possible. I'm staying OP on calories. We are eating "cheap" for last week and this next one, which means, not a lot of fruits and veggies and stuff that's good for me, it means a lot of SODIUM! I can just feel that I am retaining water, YUCK! Wi is prolly totally gonna suck. i may call and see if the Community center is open tomorrow and try to get in a "last chance" workout, lol! BTW, I did do some exercises during the commercials for about an hour during TBL. :) Thanks for the inspiration Mel! |
I'm back. Taxes are done (even getting a refund for both federal and state - YEAH!). Laundry is done. I FINALLY got airline tickets for spring break. We were thinking we would have to drive (visiting my Mom in Knoxville area) since the airfare has been rediculoulsly high since October. Prices finally dropped this week. I put in a low bid - and :) we are flying down the end of March.
Sounds like our sick chickies are back to normal (for the most part). Lots of exercise going on and some incredible willpower being shown as well! You guys are GREAT! Keep it up - and enjoy the rest of your weekend :D |
You are so welcome Diva...glad to help! LOL! And not to worry, you'll be fitting in those skinny girl clothes and looking FANTASTIC!!
Tina...I'm loving running. I had to force myself to take the night off because my legs are just tired and sore. |
Hello Red Chicks,
Hope you are all enjoying a happy and healthy weekend. I spent the day at the Band Garage Sale. It was fun but I forgot to take any money with me. There were some great hand crocheted blankets going for a song. Oh well, it was fun just watching others get some great bargains and it was all for the band. Cool! Right now I am trying to stay awake waiting for my daughter to get back from her Boston trip. My husband and I will be picking her up when she calls after arriving back at the school. I can't wait to see her although the first thing she is going to want to do when she gets home is get on the phone with her boyfriend. Young love! I think I am doing well eating wise but the scale does not seem to realize I am doing everything right here!! I am not too worried though. Maybe I am eating more then I realize and I need to do better next week. Perhaps I will still see a small loss before Monday's deadline. Did not get to exercise yesterday or today due to stuff for the garage sale but should be going to both Pilates and Zumba tomorrow. Counting-How nice you got a good deal on the airline tickets to visit your mom. Diva-I have been reading your new blog. I like your outlook. Good luck on the C25K. Scenestealer-Have a great run tomorrow. Your mileage is incredible! jlbake-I am glad your mom is getting better. Good job avoiding the cookie and ice cream temptation. Deb-Congratulations on the weight loss! I hope you go to the Zumba class next week. They really are loads of fun. The music is really energetic as are many of the dance moves. I guaruntee you will not be bored. |
Good morning Red Team!
Sorry I have been so absent. I am going to try to catch up this afternoon and see how everyone is. The last 2 weeks have been super busy with training for work and I am still in a sort of holding pattern until I finish my in-house training. So I will do my best to post more! Scale is at 196, so that's a 3 pound drop for me. I should behappy but I feel I lost some muscle in the last few weeks because I haven't been able to be at the gym more than twice a week. I am hoping I get a schedule for the next week so I can plan my workouts for the week as well. Well I am off to get ready for church, will catch up later. Just letting you know I am still alive! |
