Woo hoo! Finally some heat! Today it's supposed to be about 100 here and nothing but sunshine! I'm so happy for hot weather! If only the humidity would go down it would be such a muggy heat.

I already told my boss I was heading outside to sit today since it was going to be nice out. Maybe I'll pull weeds or something that gets me moving a bit. I just need a tan on my big ol' legs! I was thinking about starting to go to the tanning bed because I think it would put a nice umph in my wanting to lose weight to get my bod to match what my mind wants to be a bikini bod. Maybe I'll do that this afternoon after I clean.

Jenny - I have made plans and I'm going to fix what I messed up the past two weeks! Here's my plan from tonight through next week
  • June 8th: Eat on plan, tan & exercise, clean house!
  • June 9th: Wake up early and exercise, weigh in, Eat light in the morning in case we go out for dinner
  • June 10th: Eat on plan, pull out the old PUSH dvd and get started on that again
  • June 11th: Eat on plan, Stop eatting after school
  • June 12th: Eat on plan, Tackle 2 school projects, Do toning exercises
  • June 13th: Eat on plan, Depending on when I get out of school.... clean out my closet of old clothes and organize wedding stuff
  • June 14th: Eat on plan, *No school!* So exercise for a solid 2 hours
  • June 15th: Eat light on points in case we go out for dinner, Toning exercises prior to heading out for the night
  • June 16th: Wake up early and exercise, weigh in!, Tackle cleaning Daniel's closet

I'm setting a kind of high goal that by June 16th I want to have lost 2 more pounds from whatever I weigh in tomorrow as. I'm really not sure if I've lost or maintained only because my scale likes to be weird. I'm thinking if I exercise today and tomorrow morning I should be ok. I'd rather maintain than gain. Problem is I need to lose for my wedding dress!

I have yet to get the pictures from Dan's camera from the shower. I'll try and get them when I go home for lunch.

Later ladies!

Hi ladies! I have been a very bad poster, but the good news is that you all have been doing great! Here's hoping for lots of good weigh ins over the next few days so that we can have another week of victory.

My big event for the weekend - I'm running a half-marathon on Sunday. I'm excited and yet a bit terrified. I'll be glad when I'm actually in the middle of doing it, rather than sitting here thinking about it.

Hope everyone has a healthy and happy weekend.

i've also been a very bad poster... i've sort of stalled out a bit... bouncing between 224 and 228. what a rollercoaster.. sheesh. but i'm doing a take off so hopefully it will help me bust through this plateau. i'm off to go weigh in shortly so i'll post my weight later this afternoon. happy trails all... have a great day!
cheers

Well I weighed in yesterday morning thinking I was going to maintain but I lost! I lost 1 lb 2 oz and got rid of my gain from last week plus some. So now I'm finally at my 10 lb loss again from weight watchers.

We had a cookout yesterday night and there was lots of alcohol involved so I'll need to work extra hard this week to work that off!

Have a good Sunday ladies!

Morning Blue Team
It's a gorgeous day here, taking the boys and going to go do some stuff. Tomorrow is their last day of school, finally!!!! We're planning the stuff we're going to do for summer vacation when my bestfriend and her son get up here and for our drive down to Texas. I'm pretty excited and really determined to lose a size or two by then. I have 4 weeks before we head to Texas so I'm going to work my program!!!!

Rachel ~ good luck on your half marathon!!! Do let us know how well you did.

Chellez~ sounds like you got a plan going there!!

Jenny~ I think weighing in at WW on Mondays helps keep me on track through the weekend.

Michelle ~ hang in there girl, I know that frustration of bouncing back and forth . Stay focused and you'll bust through that!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. I'll catch up my water and exercise later this evening on the other threads.

Default Back in town!

Hi, Blue.

Well, since I last posted I've been on three business trips, and in four cities other than Dallas (home). I went to Kansas City, MO, Pittsburgh, DC/VA, and Atlanta. Good news, though, I started losing again. Well, I started taking off the mystery 6 pounds that had recloaked my body.

Hotel treadmills are my friends.

I've missed you all. I have to catch up on posts and see what you all have been up to.

Hugs, choosie.

Rachel/Windy...congrats on going for the gold on the half! Tell us how you did. xo

Changing my name to FRUSTRATED-DIVA

I DON'T get it! I've been good with the eating, depraving myself of sweets even though thet are eaten right in font of me...exercising, and on Sat, walked 6.5 hours STRAIGHT! I was SOOOOO sore yesterday I could barely move.... Yet I gained 2 lbs????!!!!! What is going on???? Why can't it be as easy to lose weight as it is to gain it? I mean, apprently all I have to do is look and smell food. I am so PISSED! I am almost to the point of just starving myself to lose the first 15 lbs..... Sorry to complain, but I am seriously upset. I'm MAD as all get out.

Diva the gain right now is probably water retention from all the walking. You gave your legs a good workout and now they have to repair the muscle. What kinds of food are you eating...like refined cards if so they can hinder weight loss (they do for me) I do better with whole grain breads and stuff like that .I like the 14 grain bread ,whole wheat can hinder me too sometimes. Lots of protein helps also On a typical day I have a slice of toast with 1 tbsp peanut butter and a small banana~ snack usually 1 serving of yougurt with berries and/or homemade granola ~lunch peanut butter sandwich or egg and toast (add whatever vegetables i want)~ Snack fruit and wasa crakers (80 cals for 3) with peanut butter or cheese ~supper a big *** salad and meat (chicken, lean pork, lean kids bugger etc).

Are you weight training?

I hope this helps if not just completely ignore me. lol

I eat pretty much everything you said except for granola. I do eat Salads, but not a lot, I usually get the bags of mixed veggies (frozen) and have that for lunch, sauted in 1 TSP of Olive oil for lunch w/a serving of Smoked turkey lunch meat. I have Special-K or Cherrios & 2% milk for Breakfast, can't go any lower or the family won't drink it. Milk is WAY too expensive to have to buy 2 seperate kinds. And I have whatever we have for dinner, and just watch the portion control. I don't go over 1600 calories at all. There are day's I am more in the 1200 to 1500 range. I usually skip bread altogether. I exercise 4 to 5 times a week doing anything from walking, Step Aerobics, Bike riding, Swimming, Weight lifting, ball work-outs, and for no less than 30 minutes, but usually it's for an hour to 2 hours. Maybe you are right about the sore muscles...I am STILL sore.

I dunno, for some reason I am stuck within the same 5 lbs, up and down for the last 3 months or so. Seriously, DO I have to starve myself to drop the first 15 lbs? Last yr I did WW and lost 10 lbs, since then I went through a stressful situation with my youngest son, and gained back 15 lbs. I am bigger now than I have ever been in my entire life. I am getting so depressed and stressed out.

I got a lil' depressed about it after the Dollywood thing this Saturday, seeing all those skinny women in their tank tops and whatnot, and I wanted to wear a tanktop too but didn't because of my arms. What sucked even more was when we was standing in a line, there was this really pretty blonde, about my age, with the perfect figure, face, hair, outfit, everything, and even though my fiancee' tried not to look, I could see that he liked what he saw. He was trying to NOT look because he knows I DO get pissed at that, but it was like he couldn't help himself. (I am not stupid enough to think that guys don't look at other women, but I find it VERY disrespectful if they do it in their woman's presense, and he knows this.) He never looks at ME that way. I'm sure he doesn't even remember that now, but I sure do...So, I am almost to the point of just starving myself, at least to get off what I gained back....

Diva - I don't think that you need to starve yourself nor do I recommend it or promote it. I think that there may be other things working against your favor that you may not know about. Has your doctor ever tested you for diabetes? My mom didn't know she was diabetic until after her toes started turning black and she almost lost them. Since then she's lost about 25 lbs because she's regulated her sugar. I'm not saying that it will happen like that for everyone, but there are a lot of things outside of eating habits that can effect your weight. Even your thyroid can mess with your weight if everything is not normal.

My suggestion before you harm yourself with anorexia or bulimia is that you go to a registered dietitian or see your doctor about your weight concerns. It may not be cheap, but it's better than developing habits that are often deadly and hard to break.

Why don't you try what Chellez suggested. first go to your doctor.

Have you been doing the same exercises for a while cause if so your body may have adapted to them and is not working out as hard. Mix up your weight routine (different weight and exercises in different orders)ex if you do 3 set of 10 reps of 10 pounds for biceps try 3 sets of 12 -15 reps with 8 pounds. Thos will make your body guess what it is doing instead of it already knowing (you could do less reps with a higher weight also).
If you run or walk for 30 mins try to add 5 more to get thet "extra bit "in.

I know it can get REALLY frustrating but do not quit or starve yourself. We want you to be healthy. Also if your are losing inches your are gaining muscle but losing fat on some of the weeks I do not lose my inches go down. So if you are not messuring yourself, start. It has helped me throught some of my tough spots.

When I stall I just try to maintain for a bit, I slow my cardio a bit then kick it back (speed walk insted of run for a week or 2 then start running again).

I am a diabetic. I have an appt in a couple of weeks to see my doc. I am going to request a thyroid test. I know My Aunt has problems with her's. When I was first told about the diabetes, I immediately lost 20 lbs due to taking the sugar and sugarery drinks from my diet.

As for the exercise, I do so many differnt things now, I don't know how my body could possibly get used to anyone thing. I admit I do the Step Aerobics more than anything, this is why I have added the walking, bike riding, weight lifting and swimming into it. I figured I like all these things and if I don't get stuck doing just 1 or 2 things all the time...well.....youknow... I am just confused and frustrated. The ONLY time I have ever been able to lose weight was in my 20's, and 2 yrs ago when I lost a loved one, I couldn't eat for 2 weeks, and lost 10 lbs. I DID lose 10 lbs with WW, but I was also hungry and grumpy ALL the time and it was 10 lbs in 12 weeks. I can't afford to go back, nor do I want to, being hungry and grumpy all the time sucks. So y'all really don't have to worry about my starving myself...I said this out of desparation. I like food WAY too much to starve, LOL!

Sigh....

Evening Ladies!

Just got around to getting to the computer tonight. I had a very long test tonight and then Daniel had to tell me all about his new car he bought today. So I'm looking over the weigh in thread and it looks like we lost candlemaker. Lisa Cherry and Tina didn't weigh in so they are all on freebie passes this week.

I'll know more where we stand once I get into work tomorrow morning. Look for results around 9 am!

Hi ladies - since you were so nice in encouraging me before the half marathon, I thought I'd come back and report on how it went. This is basically a repeat of a post I just made on the coolrunners exercise thread, but what the heck, why should you have to leave the blue team zone to read this Looking forward to reading here about a blue team victory tomorrow!

I finished in 2 hours 41 minutes, which put me at a pace of 12:19 per mile. Going into the race, I was hoping to get under 12, but the course wound up being quite hilly, and since I'm used to running along the flat flat flat Chicago lakefront, I'm still very pleased - heck, I'm very pleased just to have finished.

The other unexpected challenge was the cicadas! This race was in an area of Chicago that has a lot of old trees, and the 17 year cicada population is out in full force now. Not only was the noise amazingly loud, there were little dead cicada bodies smooshed into the road everywhere, and I had several fly into me during the run - ick!

It was a beautiful day, and I felt pretty good the whole way through, even with the hills. One of my friends surprised me by showing up at around mile 11 and running up one of the hills with me, then doing the last lap around the local high school track with me, which was really nice.

Of course, at mile 13, I kept thinking - holy cow, if this was a full marathon, I'd only be half way done now! I think I'll definitely have to work on speed a bit to get to the point where I really believe I can do a marathon. But, I am thinking about it - maybe next summer. In the meantime, I was so excited about yesterday, that I went on the web tonight and signed up for another half marathon this September. And the good thing about this one is that it's back in the flatlands of downtown Chicago, so surely I'll be able to improve my time

Here's a little picture of me on the last lap - I don't think I realized till I saw this that running really has created some muscles in my legs - when I look at them in the mirror, I still see fat girl legs.
