Thanks for checking-in DINA . . . . . . so good to see you. That weight will go, we just have to keep trying out best. On that note, must own up to not having a very OP time of things today

Decided to drop in here too ...signed up just a few days ago....but I know Meowee at least...trying to remember names but that's about it so far...

My dh and are in an RV park in Desert Hot Springs and it was really windy today! I feel like our RV is full of dust! Probably my computer too! I hope it doesn't choke on the dust!

Glad to have you with us MARY . . . . . . I'll be envying you that dry desert heat when it turns hot and humid around here in the Summer.

In the meantime . . . . . . nothing very exciting for me today -- just going to sit around the house and try to keep busy while waiting for the latest snow storm to pass through. Oh joy!

Hope everybody else has better weather and a great moving and shaking day planned . . .

PS . . . . . . I see you got your ticker, Mary . . . gooid going.

Thanks. I'm happy to be back. I know that I've been MIA for quite some time.
It's no wonder I gained all the weight back and then some, I missed the support of the group.

I'm starting to slip back into some poor habits again, and have gained 1.3 lb., so I better get a grip on myself and get back on track. Have not changed my ticker, hoping that I can catch up with it next week.

Nice to meet you as well Dina. I'm very familiar with the losing 1 lb. or not losing any at all syndrome - I have this condition, and this is what usually throws me off. I guess I need to learn the true meaning of perseverance.

Welcome to the group Maryea, I hope you visit often.

Nice to meet you Bethz, and congrats on the 3 lb.

Linda, thank you so much for your keeping this thread open all this time, even to the point of talking to yourself. Hope you're doing well.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Morning . . .

Another gorgeous "lull between storms" day around norther Nova Scotia and I'm going to get myself out to play. Actually we only got about an inch of snow out of yesterday's storm. The last couple have been very gentle to us and I really hope tomorrow's decides to follow the same pattern.

Oh ELYN . . . you are so very right . . . having this place to come to helps us all keep heading in the great downward direction -- sometimes a little more slowly than we would like (heck, make that a lot more slowly than we would like) -- the support at 3FC is important to us all. BTW, although talking to myself does get a bit boring, at least nobody disagrees with me.

Have a great moving and shaking kind of day, gang . . .

LOL Meowee.

Hi everyone. Nothing new to report, although I am exercising now. YAY! I exercise Monday thru Friday and only doing 4 different exercises. I guess I had better increase that, huh? I do 30 repeats tho. Is that the average no. of times you should repeat? Haven't lost any weight, but do you think this is why? I've heard that, at the beginning of a routine, that you might not.

Have a great evening folks~

Hi there . . .

DINA . . . So glad there is somebody else still around. . . . When you exercise (especially if it's an unusual event -- like at the beginning, or if you just do extra) you are putting stress on the muscle tissues and this causes little tears (don't worry; that's what is supposed to happen; it's how we get stronger) and then the tissues will retain water for a day or two while it heals those little tears. This is one of the main reasons that the "experts" recommend doing different muscle groups on different days, or taking a day off between routines. BTW . . . what four exercises are you doing? . . . depending on what you are doing, or how much weight you are using, 30 reps does seem a little high?

Anyway . . . I slept in today and now I'm really running late . . . The sun is shining at the moment and that is kind of weird since one of the local weather forecasters is telling me it is snowing (not) and the other is telling me it will be snowing later and it's very overcast right now (). Guess I'll just hve to wait and see -- one thing is sure -- it's very cold and very windy.

Anyway, everybody (wherever you are hiding) have a great moving and shaking day . . .

Smile

Had a great OP weekend, despite obstacles. Planning was key in doing well with company and at a buffet banquet.

I do feel like I'm winning the battle of the bulge. It is becoming easier as time passes and I see results. I think that childbearing, complacency, age, and probably addictive tendencies being brought up in an alcoholic family contributed to my weight problem. I really want to be healthier and live longer.

Sneak peak at the scale shows I am down another pound from Friday weigh in. I have my Biggest Loser weigh in at work tomorrow, so I'll let you know how that goes. Had a great on-plan day today as far as staying on point, exercise, drinking my water, and journaling. Ate leftover stuffed cabbage which seemed a better alternative then corned beef and cabbage.

Oldest son left for Boston area today to visit sister and his children. Will miss him...and it certainly will be quieter around here..."quiet" being a relative term.

Have a great evening everyone! I will be watching Dancing with the Stars!Bethz

Thanks Meowee.

I do side bends, waist twists, fire hydrants, and I don't know what you call this one...but you bend your knees and bring the opposite elbow to the knee and keep alternating elbow to knee.

You think that 30 is a lot, huh? Maybe I should cut it down to 20?

I hope that your weather changes soon.

Beth, I'm happy for you that you are losing. That is so great! Hope your son has a good time in Boston.

I'm still at the same weight. grrrrrr

Good Morning . . .

Sunny and very cold again -- but another freezing rain type storm is predicted for tomorrow -- in other words . . . same old; same old.

DINA . . . 30 sounds okay for what you are doing (more of a combination stretching and cardio type workout). I was thinking more along the lines of strength work with additional weights -- for that "they" say about 12 reps is good (or until your muscles feel tired).

Just sitting here waiting for my hair to dry and then I'm going out to play in the sun since tomorrow sounds like another stay at home day. Keep things moving and shaking . . .

Yep . . . if ice and snow say SPRING, it's arrived. Supposed to be absolutely the same all weekend -- hope the silly bunny bundles up . . .
