Hi everyone.

The scale remains the same. No loss. grrrr I'll keep trying tho. Eight lbs. to lose to get out of the 200's.

Thursday I took care of my sister all day. It was nice to spend the day with her. She is doing good.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Dina

Linda~ you were quite young when you became diabetic. hope you won't get any complications. it is quite important that your BP is not so high so as to protect your kidneys.
I don't want to sound like your doctor, so I better stop here.
By the way, I have noticed that our thread is rated 5 stars.
We must keep it that way.

Same here. Both my treadmill and exercise bike are collecting dust, and also holding whatever I want to get off the floor.

And while on the subject- I finally exercised today for 30mins. after a long hiatus.

Hang in there, DINA . . . you can do it, chickie.

Gee, ELYN . . . I was 45/46 when diagnosed. BTW . . . I take meds for blood pressure and for cholesterol, and both are hanging in there fine and dandy.

My treadmill lives in the garage, along with my Urban Rebounder. So far, my Gazelle is still in the family room -- but he does get a little lonely occasionally.

Meowee, I used to HATE exercise and avoided it whenever I could. After I gained a lot of weight (I was about 25 lbs heavier than I am now several years ago), I decided to exercise using videos. Eventually I got to enjoy it although I could still easily talk myself out of doing it and often did...just wasn't consistent, but I enjoyed the moves. When my dh turned 65 he started going to a local gym and would tell me about the senior cardio class. I decided if I were with a other women my age, maybe I'd enjoy it and paying for it would make me more consistent as I don't like to waste money. So I did finally (after thinking about it a couple years!) join and I LOVE it! I feel so good exercising and esp the stretching and it's fun to socialize too. During the winter when we are on our RV trip, we walk most mornings and I enjoy that too but I do miss my stretch and cardio classes...sometimes I find one at the resorts but it's not the same and anyway I prefer to walk with my dh.

Yeah, meowee, I think I am learning. From now on I'm going to cut back further on the cheese esp if there's beef and some kind of grain product too!

Hope you got in a good walk while it was sunny.

Isabella, we bought a new scale in Feb and it was SO depressing to me as it weighed me 6 lbs more!!! Really set me back for a while as I just was so discouraged as I had thought I was losing and I just gave up for a while. Then I thought about it...I realize now that our old scale was broken...my dh had accidentally stepped on it wrong or something and cracked it at the bottom....and it was about that time (though I didn't realize it then) that my weight started to drop!...so it was never right..and then I also remembered that ever time I went to the doctors office they'd weigh me about 6 lbs heavier than my scale said. So I decided to stop being discouraged and just start working on my problem. I'm glad now that I should agree with my doctor's scale and things will actually make more sense if you know what I mean. His weighing me so much made me very confused and kinda angry before. So don't worry if it does weigh you different...what you're really looking for is a trend..up or down..anyway. Just don't let the new scale do to you what it did to me...I wasted precious days of sticking to my diet and reaching my goals. When I finally got my butt in gear was about the time I joined this site and now I've lost 6 lbs!

I am a bit discouraged but I knew my old scales weren't weighing correctly because I could be up or down 3 or 4 pounds in a few minutes so that's why I bought the new set. I'll pull through and I'm not giving up. I was going to have a full piece of pie today to console myself but thought better and only had a half piece. I was talking with my friend who lives in BC and I was telling her about my 7 pound weight gain over night and we actually had a good laugh about it. I felt a bit better after the laugh because even though I'm not at the weight I thought I was I still lost the 10 pounds but started at a higher number. I also encouraged her to join 3fc because she needs to loose some weight too. As Scarlet said, "Tomorrow is another day."

Dina~ don't worry girl, if you persevere then I'm sure you're going to get the scale to go down.

Linda~ I know that one can be a diabetic 2 at any age, and I have figured out that you were about 45-46 when you were diagnosed.
Anyway, most get it in their late 50's or 60's if it is age or genetically related~ I may be wrong though.
Nice to know that your BP and cholesterol levels are under control.
I would like to hear what my husband have to say if I had a Gazelle in the family room!

I'm glad I started to exercise yesterday because even the lousy, effortless 30mins. have seem to convince my scale to go down #1.

Good Morning . . .

We have a day --

I really think my diabetes is just 'lifestyle' related. I seem to be the first one in the direct family line to be diagnosed. At least that we know about. Guess everything has to start somewhere.

I think almost all digital scales have the same bouncing disease. I tend to get on and off 4 or 5 times every morning until I either see the same number twice or I give up and use an average. Of course I'm not talking about a 4 (or more) pound difference -- although for the last 5 days, I've been bouncing (after completing the balancing act I just described) between 227.8 and 226.2.

Have a great moving and shaking day, everyone . . .

Good morning, everyone.

Overcast day here in So. Calif. and it is nice and cool. Good sleeping weather.

Stepped on the scale and it is holding about the same. I know about those scales jumping up and down. I had to toss out an old digital scale that lost it's plastic feet and everytime I stepped on it, the weight varied so much I couldn't depend on it. I got a Biggest Loser scale - big numbers and easy to read, and it holds up to 400 lbs. So no matter which way my body goes, I can at least keep track of the weight.

I had a Gazelle that I didn't use - bothered my knees - so I finally gave it away. Now I have the treadmill which I really like when I use it - the main word in this is "when", which isn't very often. I even put my pup on it and he had a little workout. Gotta start that up again.

If my grandson's team wins their 8 a.m. game, I will go out to where he is playing - about 30 miles away - in time to see his 11:30 game. But I won't go anywhere if he loses as he has other plans for the afternoon. I need to work on cleaning up this place - it is so way out of control.

Have a lovely day.

Here's a picture of my new snack center. I put lots of fruit in this bowl and placed it on the coffee table with a stack of small plates and napkins. Everything's washed and ready to eat.

Good Morning . . .

Gee KATHLEEN . . . Sorry you didn't get along well with the Gazelle. I've found it's about the only thing that doesn't bother my knees My treadmill lives in the garage -- it bothered my knees. Just goes to show how different we all are, I guess.

Looks good, ISABELLA . . . well except for the bananas. Nothing wrong with them, I just like greener ones -- as soon as they start to get any spots on them, I start thinking 'banana bread'. consequently I do not buy any more than one or two at a time.

We are having our second day of sunshine and mild temperatures in a row. Dare I think that Spring is finally arriving? Should I make an appointment to get my snow tires removed? Better not rush into anything just yet . . .

See you all a little later . . . try to keep things moving and shaking

I prefer my bananas to be on the greener side as well.

I have never tried a Gazelle, but I'm inclined to think that it is more gentle on the knees than a treadmill~ but then again, I could be wrong.

I have been exercising for 30mins. for 3 days now.
I sure hope it will soon start to give me those "endorphins" I sure need them to keep going.

If it wasn't for the fact that you hear it all over the place, I'd think this endorphin-thing was an old-wive's tale for sure. No matter what I do, I don't think that "Gadzella" and I will ever be really close pals. We just tolerate each other out of necessity.
