We took the ferry from Pictou years ago when the boys were little. Last summer we went on the Confederation Bridge-BIG difference.

Good Morning . . .

Another overcast day . . . hopefully we will manage our normal hour or so of sunshine a little later. At least it's fairly mild and Spring-like in most ways.

Nothing too exciting in my plans for today -- for some reason I was retaining water yesterday and still hve 'fat ankles' this morning. I did not eat an excess of either carbs or sodium yesterday and that's what usually does it to me. -- maybe it's just my TOM . . . yep, at 65, that's got to be it.

I much prefer the ferry trip to the bridge -- of course the bridge is faster, but the sides are so high, you can hardly see anything anyway -- I find the ferry ride calming and relaxing. I hve yet to visit "the rock", and since the choices are flying or taking the very long ferry ride ???? guess I could always try swimming over?

Anyway, gang . . . here's wishing everyone a great, fun, day . . .

Morning all, I worked the weekend and yesterday DH got sent home from work (nothing to do) so no time to post. It's cold here again! Not supposed to get cold again!!

Denise, I guess I follow my own plan. I've dieted so many years I could write my own book. I just try to eat healthy. I do count my calories but I make sure the things I am eating are low fat, high fiber, good fat.

Isabella, Congratulations on the weight loss!

HI Roma

make it a good day, Freda

I'm going for a jog in about 7 minutes. I'm just waiting for breakfast to settle in my stomach and then I'm off.

Thanks Freda. I'm not on any diet either. Doing similar to you but not really counting calories unless the day is getting out of control.

And, Meowee, don't swim the gulf--it's toooooo far and tooooooo cold. Not a god way to lose weight!!! If you do decide to visit NL and take the ferry make sure it's in the summer. Sometimes in the winter the ferry gets stuck in the ice or waylaid by a storm and you could end up having a very unwanted cruise. The summer crossing takes about 5+ hours (depending on weather conditions) and can be quite pleasant. If you want to go on the Argentia run instead of Port aux Basque it takes about 15 hours but it's closer to St. John's.

Well, I'm off. Have about 30 seconds to get dressed.

ETA: I'm back! Did 3.5K jogging and 1K walking. The rain held off and only had a light drizzle the last few minutes-not enough to wet my glasses. Now, I'm hungrily awaiting my dinner which is roasting in the oven (vegetables-yum!)

Good morning,

I had my one week weigh-in. Down 3.5. Yea!! I know the first week is always more but it sure feels good.

Finally we are having some lovely weather. Sunny and 18C today. (about 65F).
I'm on my way out to enjoy the day.

Have a great one,

Really super, Denise. A 3.5 pound loss is a boost.

Our day was overcast but not real cold unless the wind was blowing and it was blowing. lol. I did my circuit workout today and then got mom ready to go shopping. I don't know how many calories are burned off pushing a wheel chair around Walmart and the grocery store but I'm sure it must count for something.

Today I bought two new nighties and a new skirt. I was in desperate need of new night wear as I cleaned out all the old stuff last week and I was left with only 1 nightgown. So today I bought a couple of knee length comfortable gowns--not sexy but nice looking. My husband is so used to me wearing old t-shirts and pj bottoms he'll be all a twitter tonight. The skirt doesn't fit as it's a size 12 but it's my incentive skirt. It was on sale and it's a longer mini skirt so that means it just comes to my knees. I have such trouble finding a regular or even petite size skirt that isn't too long so the longer minis are just right. It's a winter skirt and I'll wear it with black tights. Hopefully by next fall/winter it will fit nicely.

Terrific DENISE . . . Keep up the great work, Chickie.

Know what you mean ISABELLA . . . I love the fact that capri-length is popular right now. For me, the longer ones of the genre are pants that I don't have to shorten for a change.

Anyway, gang . . . this thread is getting rather long so I've started a new one and here's the link . . . http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...47#post2179047

Hope to see everybody over there, really soon . . .
