I guess I'm lucky. Even when the weather is yucky, we have a great gym where I work, There is also a nice track outside for nice days.

Hi there . . .

Funny . . . I can handle 'real' nuts in logical serving sizes . . . but as soon as they get squashed up

Hey, we are having another gorgeous and day and the temperature is going to hit 16C/61F this afternoon. Also happy because the scale did a downward 'blip' to 222.4 this morning. Will probably go the other way again tomorrow, but at least I know that number is out there in my future.

Have a great moving and shaking day . . .

Hi everyone,

I need help. I had been doing so well, 48 lbs. Then winter hit. Since January I've gained 20 lbs! I can't get back on track. I eat all the time, I'm not getting to this group nearly enough, I'm not exercising. Help.

Hey girl . . . you've got to nip it in the bud now . . . you know you can do it. We are all here for you, check in often . . . it helps.

I know it's hard . . . I've been struggling with the same ten pounds for six months and it was definitely ten that I gained since the end of November. It is so easy to get into the old habits without trying. That's what happened to me -- indulged in lots of sweets and trigger foods throughout December (the old Christmas thing) and then just sort of continued on that way throughout January and February too (even though I tried not to . . . the cravings just got me.) March started coming back into line slowly but it was hard and so far April is doing well. As of this morning, I'm almost back to my end of November spot.

One day at a time . . . that's all you can do . . . but OMG, Denise. . . come here every day at least once . . . it really, really does help.

PS . . . take a look at the April Accountability Thread up in the Sticky area . . . I find it really helps to keep me heading in the right direction when I have to record something in there every day. The choice of what you want to track in there is entirely your own -- no competition and no pressure.

Hello everyone. Had another good jog today. Did 3k without stopping and then walked .5k to end it. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow so I'll get out again.

Meowee, have you ever bought peanut butter in the single serve packs? It's only a tablespoon and certainly a controlled portion.

Settie, I've been there before. Just when you think you've got rid of that weight you turn around and its back where it came from.

I have never seen them in the stores . . . only in restaurants . . . can you find them at either Sobeys or Super Store? That just might be answer to my problem.

Settie, sorry you are struggling...I've really been struggling too recently. Like Meowee said, we just have to get back on track and do it. And we can! I've done better today...so hopefully will be back to losing soon again. I definitely have my "trigger" foods too...chocolate, ice cream ...there are several. I have to plan my meals and snacks and have only small portions of those trigger foods around if at all. That's what I'm trying to do now...get back to my usual wayof eating.

Maryea,
That sounds like a good plan. My thought is if you don't want it in your body, don't bring it in the house. I used to bring it in the house all the time. Now I will only spend my money on healthy food. It tricks my mind that I'm taking care of my body, so it makes it easier.

Hi there . . .

My tooth that had the recent root canal procedure broke while chewing on a lettuce leaf last night. Hope I can see the dentist fairly quickly this morning. Don't imagine there's anything that they can do to save it now though.

A second little ; the weight blipped back up again this morning.

Actually the first one might be beneficial for the second one -- since I'm missing molar teeth on the other side of my mouth already, guess I will be relegated to a liquid meal replacement plan for a little while at least. Hey, you've gotta be able to find the bright side, right.

Hope everybody else has a better day than I do . . . see you later . . .

Re: the peanut butter single serves
In one of the grocery stores in my town I can get single serves in the produce section. I'm not sure about Sobey's or Super Store. I'm going there today and I'll check. I know the bulk food store has them also.

Also root canals can be done on the root of the tooth. I had that done and then the dentist inserted two metal rods in the remainder of the tooth and root and built up a "new" tooth. This tooth showed when I smiled so I had to have it done otherwise I might have had it pulled. That tooth cost me a king's ransom by the time everything was done-and I have dental insurance!

I'll be looking forward to hearing if you find the PB at the normal grocery stores. It may soon become my best source of protein.

This tooth is already dead (it was RC'd earlier this month) so it doesn't hurt unless I nudge the broken part up against the gum tissue. Already have two gold crows on that side of my mouth . . . going to the dentist at 11:30 and guess I'll find out then if this will soon become number 3. Maybe this is his way of generating a bigger bill. I don't hve dental insurance since I retired. That's the part that will probably hurt the most.

Very pleased to tell you that I actually managed to eat a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast (sans fruit though).

Gosh I've been away for so long that I feel like a newbie. So glad that we have so many new and some old friends here. I have been spending a little time each day trying to catch up on what I have missed.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS, to all of you that have lost pounds and that are working on exercise programs. To the rest that are still struggling, I know your pain. I started my exercise program a little over 3 weeks ago and I have been very faithful to it. My question is, can you start building muscle that soon ? I haven't changed my eating at all in that time period but I have been slowly gaining again. I was in a downward trend before that. Oh well I am not giving up !!!

It is fun to read what some of the trigger foods are for everyone. Sounds like most of us have the same ones. If I am the one to buy groceries I don't buy the ones I know get me, but they are usually the ones my DH loves the most and he can eat anything and stay thin. I just have to find things to have instead. Ice cream, especially now that it is getting nicer, is one of them. Now when he has some I have a lfsf yogurt or pudding, seems to be working at least for now. Chips, that is a little trickier.

I am going to try to get here more often. Like Settie, I really miss being here and have found that your support really keeps me on the right path to weight loss. Thanks for all of your help. Hope all of you have a great day and I hope to get back here the first of next week.

Hi all,

Thank you for all of your kind words and encouragement. I think this is the place I need to be. I've had a bit better day today but wouldn't you know it, tonight is my monthly dinner 'meeting' with a group of girls. We're going to a Japanese restaurant so I know there will be good choices. I hope I can eat smart.

Talk soon,

Meowee, no luck at Sobey's or the Super Store. But at the bulk food store they had lot's of single serve stuff. They had Kraft peanut butter and for a moment I thought I'd pick you up some and then I realized I know you online and not in person. Ha, ha. Do you have a bulk food store like the Bulk Barn? They will probably carry the single serves. We also have Foodland here, part of the Sobey's group of stores and they carry the single serves.

About teeth that won't stay where they're supposed to. I cracked off my tooth in mashed potatoes, so I understand your frustration about the lettuce leaf.

I didn't jog today but I went for a 2k walk. Thought I'd give my legs a rest from jogging. My legs are still somewhat sore but much better than they were on Tuesday. Tomorrow I'll do another jog. Didn't get on my bike either today, too busy and too tired.

Hi gang . . .

Thanks for that information ISABELLA . . . I've never found a bulk foods store around here, but have to admit that I haven't really checked everywhere within the region.

I'm having another "not good day" (and yesterday actually went downhill from the way it started out) but won't bore you with details since I know a lot of you post in the other daily threads in this forum and I did put the details in both of them.

Anyway . . . hope everybody else has a great day and an even better weekend shaping up . . . I will be back . . .
