First name (if you want to tell): Brittany

Geographical location: Central Arkansas

Age: 27

Marital Status: married

Children/Ages: none

Occupation: Research Administration

Pets: miniature schnauzer, Houston and English pointer, Dizzy

Hobbies/Interests: shopping, dining out :-) , church functions, getting pedicures... lol

Height: 5'4"

Eye/Hair Color: blue/brunette

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: I started for real for real this February. I started on a medical weight loss program and lost 25 pounds. I've recently went on vacation and gotten off the program and put 10 of that back on. I'm now on my own counting calories and working out. I believe both are key to any weight loss.

Starting Weight: 211

Present Weight: 197

Goal Weight: I'm hoping I'm pretty content around 150 or so... :-)

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: It is very much a part of mine and my husband's lifestyle to dine out and cook big pasta meals, etc. Overcoming the anticipation of the next meal is something I have got to work on. And eating when I'm bored or at work sitting all day.

Following any specific plan: Not currently, though I am interested in possibly finding out more about WW.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I paid A LOT of money to do the medical weight loss program, and while it worked, it's not reasonable now for the amount of weight I need to lose. It helps that my husband is also on board now.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I need SUPPORT. I think this works!

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: This current journey?? June 21st?

Starting Weight: 245

Present Weight: 223

Goal Weight: Working on 190 for now, we'll see what happens after that.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: working around baked goods all day!!!

Following any specific plan: I'm very VERY loosely following the WW points plan but I'm mostly working on portion control and exercise

Goal Weight: 150

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: food sensitivities and triggering, rebounding after dieting

Following any specific plan: for now, planning to use flat belly diet for a kick start and get back to *some* exercising

Geographical location: NYC

Age: 22

Marital Status: single

Children/Ages: none

Occupation: teacher

Pets: none

Hobbies/Interests: reading, theatre, being silly, road trips, slot machines, baseball, etc.

Height: 5'6"

Eye/Hair Color: blue/red

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Current Journey - 08/06/08

Starting Weight: 307

Present Weight: 307 - hopefully a little less by now lol

Goal Weight: 150

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: probably emotional eating, and binging.

Following any specific plan: right now I'm doing my own thing. I may start Weight Watchers next week though, not sure yet

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I don't know, I think it's a better time for me. The rest of my life is falling into place, I can put more focus on it. It just feels right this time.

Anything else you would like to share with us: can't think of anything at the moment, just wanted to say hi to everyone!

First name (if you want to tell): Heidi

Geographical location: Des Moines, IA

Age: 24

Marital Status: Married

Children/Ages: none

Occupation: Accounting Specialist

Pets: 1 adorable b&w (but very grumpy) cat named Lilly

Hobbies/Interests: Reading, crosswords, sci-fi movies (or nerd flicks, as my husband calls them), food, music, and religious studies stuff

Height: 5'5"

Eye/Hair Color: Hazel/Red

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Current Journey - TODAY!

Starting Weight: 212

Present Weight: 210

Goal Weight: 150

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Emotional eating, my slightly hedonistic attitude that I need to shake, and the fact that I work for a Foodservice Brokerage Firm, so there is constantly food EVERYWHERE. And I'm not talking about carrots and celery - I mean cake, cookies, fried cheese-filled potatoes...if it is yummy and full of fat - we have it!

Following any specific plan: I'm kind of doing the Core Plan and just trying to watch my portions and what I eat in general as well as working out.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm not worrying about my wedding this time around, and I'm joining a group to get support. My mother was my previous support group, but her idea of support is telling you how to solve your problem and get upset when you tell her that you don't want her advice.

Anything else you would like to share with us: Appropriately enough, this is my first post. Wanted to say hi!!

First name: You can call me Blue Parade

Geographical location: Canada

Age: 27

Marital Status: single-ish [that stage where it's implied you're together but not confirmed]

Hobbies/Interests: fashion, creative arts, dance, healthy living, fitness

Height: 5'5"

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: spring [april??] of 2006

Starting Weight: 165

Present Weight: 136.5

Goal Weight: the doctor says 130 lbs is a good weight for me...my jeans agree :O|

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weight loss: the psychological backlash. i never realized how much i relied/hated on my outsides until i became obsessed with the numbers and trappings of weight loss. maintaining has been a huge challenge as well.....my mind is my worst enemy. this whole process of weight loss and gaining a healthy lifestyle has been the most difficult and rewarding thing i've ever done for myself. the biggest let down for me was reaching my goal wait and thinking, "crap...losing weight doesn't fix everything"....

Following any specific plan: food - portion control and a slight G.I. diet [high veggie and fruits]. exercise - gym about 3-4 times a week and attempts at being active every day.

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: Today

Starting Weight: 173

Present Weight: 173

Goal Weight: 125-130 or so

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weight loss: loving to cook (and eat) all kinds of things and being too comfortable in my wonderful relationships with my boyfriend, family and friends because I know they truly do love me no matter what.

Following any specific plan: not particularly, Fitday is helping so far, and just finding time and motivation to exercise

Hobbies/Interests: Reading, photography, dance, cycling
Height: 5'8

Eye/Hair Color: Grey eyes and dark brown hair

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: About 6 years ago

Starting Weight: 185

Present Weight: 159

Goal Weight: 130

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Finding the energy to exercise after work. Also, being able to control my portion sizes when eating out.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I lost about 50 pounds about 6 years ago. Recently, I noticed my clothes getting tighter and my body looking less toned. I stepped on the scale recently and almost cried when I saw how much weight I put on. This time around, I am not going to allow myself to get relaxed about the food I am eating or about exercising. I am motivated to finally have the body that I have always wanted.

Following any specific plan: I am going to try the South Beach Diet again. It worked in the past, but then I went off to college and stopped doing it.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: This time I won't stop my efforts when I go back to school. I will also make a concerted effort to exercise at least 4 times a week.

Starting Weight: 205

Present Weight: 205 (just starting!)

Goal Weight: 150

Following any specific plan: Counting calories and working out/ walking at least 5 days a week

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Hopefully I won't gain it back a year after I loose it. Rollercoaster dieting seems to be my nemisis.

Children/Ages: none

Occupation: student & aspiring exercise physiologist (i just got into grad school for next fall! woohoo!)

Pets: none

Hobbies/Interests: shopping, working out, hanging out w/ friends, watching movies

Height: 5'6"

Eye/Hair Color: brown/brown

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: May 9

Starting Weight: 215

Present Weight: 190

Goal Weight: 130 would be great, but I have a lot of muscle so we'll see

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Being in college and around people who constantly binge and eat unhealthy.

Following any specific plan: weight watchers core

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I started doing ww with my mom and I believe it is a lot easier to lose weight when you have someone close to you beside you. It was also tough to eat healthy when I lived in the dorms, but I found it a lot easier to make healthy food choices once I moved into an apartment because I control everything I put in my mouth.
