rainbowstripe: Congrats on the drop in weight! I love when that happens!
Hey, has anyone else noticed that as they shrink, they're more willing to admit that they love food and eating? I know before that I never liked talking about food because I was sure people would think, "Well of course she likes eating - I mean, look at her."
Now I'm more likely to say, "I love to eat!" and feel fine about it. Because I do love to eat - I'm a continually recovering compulsive overeater, after all.
I guess I should not have felt/feel that way (if people like to eat, then whatever, no matter their size; it shouldn't just be bad for bigger people), but there it is. Anyone else feel similarly? Or not?

liannakole, TOTALLY!!! i used to not even say “i’m hungry”!! other ppl would say it, and i’d say, “oh really, you’re hungry already? hmm. ok well let’s get something if you’re hungry.” aaand i used to be a food pusher. i would offer other ppl whatever i was eating, even if they were already eating, bc i felt bad somehow about what i was having. esp if someone finished before me. The longer i’m at this weight loss thing, the more i realize my eating habits and attitude towards food/fat were (are) not very healthy. glad to know i’m not alone!

forgot to say... i’m much better now. I can say that i’m hungry and enjoy what I’m having, with several "yums" and "this is so goods"! and i don’t push food on ppl anymore; I’ll offer if I am genuinely enjoying what I’m eating and want whoever is near me to taste it’s scrumptous-ness.

So I actually weighed about 20 minutes after I posted haha - after I'd eaten breakfast and been for my jog - and I was lighter than the posted weight, so I'm going with that hah! It was 71.6kg, which is 157.8 pounds!! Weeee. It could be because I've been eating a few fewer calories this week...not sure.
Lianna I kind of feel like...I am not small enough yet to say I love food and eating around people that don't know I have lost weight - like...if people know I've lost weight then they know that I'm actually doing something and can justify what I'm eating.. I don't know if that makes sense!

Rainbow congrats thats great news!
As far as enjoying food i have yet to admit that i love it. I am in denial. I am thinking the more i lie to myself about loving food the more i will believe it? Well lets hope so anyways. Have a great weekend everyone.

Rainbowstripe - yay for getting down to that weight!!
LiannaKole - Oh my gosh I definitely LOVE food. Its also my husbands favorite indulgence, so we definitely enjoy it. But I havent verbally admitted to others that I "love" food! Maybe two other people, one of my friends and my sister, but thats about it.
So ladies this morning I weighed in at 158.0, so there is hope yet for me to make my thanksgiving goal. The smaller I'm getting the more I feel like I should push my ultimate goal back from 140 to 130. I somehow remember myself being smaller at this weight than I am now. Unless its all in my head.

Hi everyone, i'm new to this board but i just wanted to throw in my two cents i weighed myself yesterday and i was 149.6 It was kind of bittersweet though, I was happy i was no longer over 150..but then still 149 is a heavier than i'm used to being :-/ My usual weight used to be around 140-145(which was still overweight). One year ago I was 134lbs and then i gained 23lbs in the last year...i think once i get below that, then i will be ecstatic. But for now, i'm trying to celebrate small victories..so yay! 149 lol

Was 159 last week and weighed in at 157.5 today, so I think it's safe to move out of the 160s and into this thread! Hi everyone I actually made my New Years goal 155, and it's really looking like I'm going to reach it, so yay.

Kenzide Hey!
LiLLy Yay for your weight!
I'm kind of shuffling around a bit, but at least not over my 72kg/158.7pounds. I am feeling like I'm going to drop some more, but have nothing to base that feeling on aside from my lower calorie week and being good with exercise haha, so I guess we'll see!

KenzideRhae: And good luck with your New Year's goal!
What do you guys do when someone you know is really happy for your weight loss, but goes and talks about it to other people? Today I saw a friend I haven't seen in a while and she was surprised by my weight loss. I vaguely affirmed that yes, I've been losing weight and thanks for noticing.
A different friend (who's been very supportive, but...) said, "Tell her how much you've lost!" all excited-like. I tried to brush it off, but then the friend goes and says, "Over 50lbs so far!" I wasn't mad, but I was uncomfortable. I haven't told many people how much I've lost, and now they all know (people were all hanging out) and I didn't even tell them myself. I don't like it much. It was my thing, you know? I don't mind sharing the number with some people, but I'd rather they not share with others.
But then maybe they don't think of weight loss as the personal thing I think of it as. I don't know. I'm considering just keeping the numbers to myself from now on...

LiannaKole: I'd definitely talk to your friend about how uncomfortable that makes you. Let her know that you appreciate her support and it's nice that she's so proud of you, but that you'd like to be the one to decide how much you let others know. I think a lot of people just think it's so amazing when others lose so much weight that they don't realise how much of a personal thing it really is. Maybe from now on if you do reveal the number to people, you could ask that they not tell anyone else, just to make sure things like that don't keep happening.
