Hi findingfawn, those are some great goals. One of my goals is to exercise every day this month and i've also set a goal to lose 10 lbs this month. I've quit many times but not this time, I'm here for the long haul and don't you quit either.
I was up a little today but it's probably because I had a good breakfast out with my hubby.
251.8

Welcome findingfawn! Looking forward to have you here and hear about your weight loss.
I am still contemplating whether I should set up a weekly / monthly goal for myself, although I don't know if it would help me personally. Since my weight seems to have a mini-stall and bounce between 2 numbers for days at a time, I don't think it will motivate me, it will probably do the opposite. So, for now, I will just stick to my plans, change things up a bit once I see that I've stalled losing, and hope for a loss.
I've been doing the 2% weight loss challenge on here, and punching in my numbers today made me realize that I've been bouncing between two numbers for almost a WEEK!
8/28: 260.7 | 8/29: 260.6 | 8/30: 259.7 | 8/31: 260.8 | 9/01: 259.9 | 9/02: 260.0
Aside from the slip-up from Saturday, I've been on plan. Eating 1200-1500 per day, limiting carbs to two meals a day, exercising about 3 times a week. I did do a leg workout yesterday that is still fairly new for me, so I'm guessing that's why I didn't have a loss, but that doesn't really explain too much for the rest of the week... Hmm..
Morning everyone! Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day! Did you stay in control yesterday? I did, and really pushed myself in my workout. I was sore yesterday but today I am SORE! I still pushed through my workout today... even stepped it up a notch from what I was doing last week.
Saw the scale move down .8lbs from yesterday. I am sure I'm coming down some from eating out with the family on Thursday.. it's been slowly coming down all weekend but today felt like a mini-woosh. It's making me a bit less worried about my "official" weigh in tomorrow.
I am UP 5lbs after being away all weekend, being at the mercy of others (in terms of food), and not exercising. 269.6 today. I am determined to get that scale as close as possible to where it was before I left.
I'm sure you didn't really do the damage the scale is trying to make you think you did, drink lots of extra water for the next few days and I bet you will see it all come back off. Even if you gained a bit, getting right back on track today is what is the big thing anyway
Justaloozer my story is almost identical to yours, except I wasn't out of town. I'm up 5 pounds since Friday! We ended our weight loss challenge and had a huge potluck at work with all the goodies none of us were able to eat on our diets the last 10 weeks and then I blew my diet all weekend long. I didn't eat a whole lot yesterday, but I had several cookies. I had a peanut butter cookie shake from sonic the other night that was so good. I don't know if it was worth gaining 5 whole pounds though. I'm back on my diet today, but I still haven't decided if I'm gonna have another cheat meal or two before we start a new challenge this Friday. I have decided not to cheat for the entire week like some of my coworkers are. Mainly because I about had a heart attack when I stepped on the scale this morning. I really want to get under 250 soon and I'm going the wrong direction and it's going up super fast!
Good job to all of you who stuck to your diets over the weekend! The rest of us will just have to get back on track again and get the scale moving in the right direction.
Justaloozer, I'm sure it will come back off quickly, most of it probably isn't a true gain. (same for you Mandy) Days like that will come and go for all of us and the most important thing is to always get right back on track and back to work.

Well I didn't fall off the wagon but have been clinging to the side for the last two weeks. My daughter came home from her visit with my parents and I had to finish her room and get her ready for school. So today I decided I have to make sure I am tracking everything. I've been bouncing between 252 and 249 for the last two weeks. Enough is enough.
I was also upset because my mother packed 9 lbs on my dd while she was away. She's only 9 yo and 4' 6" and is 100 lbs. She should not be that heavy. I told my mom that she was borderline obese for her age and height when she left and now she's full on obese. Thankfully I see my doctor again on the 9th. I'm going to speak to her about seeing if a 1-2 lb loss a month is ok. That would bring her down to 80 lbs by the end of may and with a couple extra inches should bring her back into the high end of normal weight for her age. Does anybody else here worry about their kids' weight?
About the kids weight... no I don't worry too much, I have 4 kids.. my oldest son struggles with being chunky, he is forever snagging food out of the pantry to eat.. esp if it's sweets and because he is older I do tell him this will lead to bad things later unless he gets a grip on it. My next 3 are an 8 year old girl who weighs 48lbs, she is slightly short and a twig and just started wearing size 6 clothes (she will be 9 in Dec), her Irish Twin who is 7 (will be 8 in Dec), he has always been big, but not fat big muscle big. He is a good 8 inches taller than his sister and weighs 78lbs. My youngest is 4, he is right in the middle of the growth charts for height and weight (I think he is like 34lbs).
I don't think I would ever say anything to my kids at too young of an age about their weight. I would probably be sneaky if I was worried and change the meals she was eating. My oldest is almost 15, and even then if it wasn't a matter of him taking food (mostly snacks that are kept for hubby to take to work), I wouldn't even say anything to him at his age... and actually I don't think I ever did until the dr told him he was overweight at one of his check ups. He didn't tell him to change his diet... he told him to be more active... which I would advise for any overweight kid, be a playful parent.. get them active for an hour a day if you can.
Morning everyone! Today is offical weigh day for me, I'm down 3lbs exactly from last week. Today's weight is 268.2. I'm still very sore from my workout on Monday.. and probably the added bump up I have done on my regular workout (simply WATP, went from 1 to 2 mi, crazy the difference in the two!). I hope to hit the treadmill tonight if I have time... but before I worry about that, I have 2 bushels of tomatoes from my garden that need prepped to drain to make a humungous batch of salsa to can tomorrow. Im sure I will be burning some major calories doing that.. and considering I didn't buy any chips for salsa, I wont' be eating much of it (though I do love it on my eggs in the morning!).
