Hello and Thank you Finding!... My scale is a digital one and my doctors is the old fashioned slide the weight over and then watch the bar balance..LOL so did the best I could and found one that the reading of the weight does not change even stepping on it 3 times.. I have resigned myself to this change in my journey.. PISSED, but resigned. I congratulate you on your BIG TIME loss for the week!! Good for you! and you do have a weekend of trials ahead of you... I hope that it goes well and shoot.. the best Pizza place.. that is hard to resist!

Mandy... Thank you so much for the Welcome (Back) and I am hoping that this is a short visit (my last time here in this thread, I was here for almost 7 weeks) I thank you and hope that I follow you all into the 240's again soon! you are SOOOOOOOOOO Close..

Sologirl.. Glad to have you here and joining us all to move on down the road. Being around the snacks like that is tough!... Bring some low carb snacks that you can eat.... Veggies... Cheese sticks etc.. I am doing Atkins and am sticking around 30 carbs a day.. You can do it!

Just .. I am hoping that you are back in the 250's next time you log on here!

MARA!! stick to that lower "tens" You can do it.!

Well... Got my determination hat back on and am going to do what ever I can to lose this weight... I want to be CLOSER to 100 than 200! first Mini Goal (Again) How does that sound??!!

Happy Day for me... I was 254.6 on my new scale which equates to 240.6 on my old one which is the lowest I had gotten on this long journey.. So Now anything lower I am in uncharted territories this trip! Hooray! Still can't wait to get into the 230's ( My old scale showed 238-239 this morning oh gosh....)

Have a great day all!

Awesome Wanna... and yep it looks like your old scale is off by about 14 lbs, but you are totally heading in the right direction.

Justa... I can smell the 250s for you

My goal is to be perfect today and tomorrow, enjoy the weekend's festivities without any guilt, guzzle gallons of water to offset the salt and grease and hope right back on the horse on Monday. The good thing about both the fair (the largest in our state I believe) and Knoebles (a local amusement park... great place to vacation.. look it up ) is I will be doing TONS of walking

I do see the 250's for you Just and Finding! They are RIGHT there!

I'm down to 254 (240 on the button on old scale)... So going down... Its like I got a bunch of determination drilled into me.! Lowest weight again on this journey! Hooray... (I give myself a star on my journal when I reach a new low)

I hope you all have a good Friday.... I have to go in this morning for blood work (1st time in 30 years)to start a having a doctor, and just alittle stressed.. just alittle!!!

Wannaskip... good luck on that blood work! I haven't been to a dr since my youngest was born, you know the 8 week check up. He is 4 1/2! I keep thinking I really should go, but I don't want to know what I'm blissfully oblivious about... and keep hoping by the time I do get around to going I will have fixed anything that might be "wrong" with eating healthy and exercising. Congrats on keeping that scale moving down. Once nice thing about knowing that the old scale was exactly 14lbs off is you can go back and adjust all your weights up that much and still see the progress you have made in "real time".

Well.. it's FRIDAY!!!! I love Fridays, not sure why they excite me so much since I am a stay at home mom and never really have a day off (and on the weekends I have to put up with hubby 24/7... love the man to death but he is the biggest kid of them all lol). I'm almost wishing we could find a sitter for tonight and hit the fair sans kidlets, but that won't happen I'm sure. Can't wait to go tomorrow with the family. We have a tradition of getting our picture done at that old time photo thing... that is our annual family pic. I love looking back over the years when we bring our new one home. I'm hoping my face is at least a bit thinner looking this year, I'm down 23 pounds since the last one was taken.

Good luck at the doctor's office Wanna!

Findingfawn Friday's excite me too! Hope you have fun at the fair tomorrow.

I am exactly 260 this morning. I have an event to go to tonight which will have a ton of desserts. And tomorrow I am going on a day trip! I am going to do my best to behave myself!

Justa.. have a single lick of everything...lol Have fun, don't be too hard on yourself. You have to enjoy life too, even on this journey, even if it means we eat a piece of cake. As was pointed out to me on the Halloween Challenge thread, a piece of cake (or in my case fair food) isn't a deal breaker, it's just a deal slower downer

Official weigh in was 251 today. It would have been a lot better had I not blown it yesterday. Yesterday morning I weighed 248 when I first stepped on the scale and then I couldn't believe it so I picked up the scale and shook it and put it back down and weighed again and it said 249 so I was still very happy with that. Then my daughter informed me that a wire had broke on her braces and I had to skip work to take her to the ortho, then since I was off work we went and got the oil changed on the car and ate at wings to go and it was awesome, but not for my diet. THEN she informed me that she had to be at school for the homecoming parade, which I had no idea about, so I had to miss zumba because of the parade THEN I went to the casino with my mom last night after the parade and they gave us free meal vouchers and I ate two thirds of a chicken quesadilla and stole a couple of her fries! I did so bad and the scales showed it

My kids are wanting to go to the fair this weekend, but I'm afraid I'll be too weak to resist the food and I really really want to be in the 240's and moving on down from there. Plus the fair is so expensive. I hate disappointing the kids though. I don't know what to do. It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow so that wouldn't be a good day and I don't like taking the kids at night because being a single mom I usually just take them by myself and the crazies tend to come out a night lol, especially at the fair.

Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have a great weekend. I'm going to do my best to stick to my diet this weekend. I have 3 more weigh ins for our challenge here at work and I have to lose 4 more pounds to reach the goal. I WILL do it!

I have thought of ways that people can cheat with dietbet, but here's what they've done to try to prevent that...

You must validate your starting & ending weight by uploading 2 photos each time. One photo is of you standing on your digital scale wearing somewhat revealing clothes (I wear a t-shirt and yoga capris so it shows the rolls). The other photo shows your feet on the scale, plus your weight. In the weight photo they also make you include a piece of paper with a secret word on it that they reveal to you only on weigh in day so you can't use an old photo. Someone then reviews the photos and decides whether they can validate them or not.

Someone could probably start with a free weight tucked in the back of their clothing or something like that. I figured that I was going to play honestly and see where the chips fell. According to their website usually 50% of the people fail. Going forward I don't think I will do another dietbet because I think 4% is an overly ambitious weightloss target for a 28 day period. Plus my scale at home only does half pound increments. So, even though I'd have won my bet at 265.4 pounds I needed it to say 265. Luckily it was 264 this AM so I should be fine tomorrow when I take my pictures for the final weigh in.

I'll let you all know what the pot ends up being.

findingfawn - Thank you for mentioning Leslie Sansone's walk away the pounds videos. I love them. I own at least 4 different dvd's of hers. I was not happy about having to miss zumba last night, especially since I didn't do well on my diet either, and so about an hour ago I did the 2 mile brisk walk. It wasn't as challenging as zumba, but I broke a sweat and got my heart rate up for awhile. I may try the 3, 4 or 5 mile video tomorrow. I have her walk and jog video, but years ago when I bought it I hurt my feet because I did it barefoot and I swear it was almost a year before they fully healed and it was super painful for awhile. I'm pretty sure it was the plantar fasciitis or whatever it's called. I've been leery about trying it again and I don't do any kind of workout without decent tennis shoes on and most of the time I have shoe inserts as well. Once you go through that kind of foot pain you don't want to take any chances. Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for the reminder. I may start doing a video on the days I don't do zumba

Great point! I ended up having a slice of cake last night. My daughter didn't finish hers but instead of eating it, I tossed it!

Our traveling plans for the day have been moved to next week. My daughter is not feeling well.

Weigh in today: 258.8!

YAY Justa!! nsv (throw away cake) and your loss! WooHoo!

Me too.. I am down 2 lbs over night (Hooray!!) 252 on the button this morning (and 238 on my old scale sniff)...

The doctor was SOOOOOOO good about getting the blood... I really did not feel it almost at all... 4 vials gone. I think that that helped with the loss yesterday too... BUT I OWN IT! LOL

Have a great time at the fair if you go (all)... walking also helps burn that lick or taste LOLOLOLOLOL and screaming on the rides does burn cals too!

Congrats on the weight losses!

justaloozer - Hope your daughter feels better soon. Throwing away the cake would be a big accomplishment for me, so congrats That's not an easy thing to do.

wannaskip - Glad the blood draw was painless. I'm sure you're curious to see the results.

My home scale showed 252 this morning, which is 250 on the one at work. Of course two mornings ago it showed 250, which would be 248 - I can't wait to see that again. The scale at work is the one I go by because it's the closest to the weight my doctor's scale shows. I'm having to switch arthritis doctors because of my health insurance so it will be interesting to see what their scales show. I start my ww's week on saturday and I had to change my points again. So far I seem to be losing a point a week because it goes down as your weight goes down. The weight loss isn't as quick as low carb, but it is most definitely not as restrictive and for now I think I'd rather not feel so deprived.

It's supposed to rain all day today, so there's my excuse to the kids for today that I can't take them to the fair lol. That's not very nice is it. I just really, really, really don't want to go to the fair.
