HiedieHo All!

The days pass so quickly! Was busy yesterday. Had to do some shopping, Sam's and WD, then made meals of Mexican Chicken, one for family and one for potluck at church For church I put brown rice around the edge of the pan, truly a one dish meal. Even "non-dieters" liked it.

Today of course, I'm trying to take it easy. Did not take my pain meds as my stomach was bothering me. I'm still experimenting. Since I'm not going anywhere I can do without it I guess.

ILBLOND: I will have to look up Ultracet. Is it an antimflammatory? Does it upset the stomach? That is the problem with most pain meds that work, they tear up your stomach. Then when you have an endoscopy you can hear the doctor say...."Uhoh, look at that! Really a mess! Year's of pain killers! Tsk!Tsk!" Then he gives you a picture in living color, and it's not a pretty picture. But then I'm really not photogenic!!

Is Kashi's Go Lean Crunch legal? Doesn't it have corn etc., that we can't have? I can't find the plain Kashi anymore. All the stores here have is the Honey kind with all sorts of no-nos in it. I really liked the regular one. Just had a thought maybe my DD can get it at TJ's in MD.

FILLISE: It's the simple things in life that we take for granted. I can't go out in public w/o a bra! It's dangerous I keep tripping over my boobs! I have to get the front hook bras. Bought one the only one in my size. Now that I am wearing it I think I should get a smaller cup. Believe me, at the height of all this I wasn't drinking much water!!!!

I wear a briefer for back support, but all I have found are one piece that you have to wiggle your arms through. Does anyone know of a company that might have front hook briefers. I think that would be easier for me to put on. The usual sources....JC Penney, Lane Bryant, Roaman's, Just My Size, don't seem to have them.

SERENE: Know how bad I felt when I had to put my 15 y/o Freckles to sleep. She was my constant companion and a member of the family. So it definitely affects us in the grieving process. Sorry for your loss.

DEB: Micheal was happy and Mom is proud! And justly so. I keep telling you we have to learn to pace ourselves. A day of rest is needed from time to time.

Time to call a halt to sitting here.

Take care all, Shirley

A little old lady went into the Bank of Canada one day. Carrying a bag of money. She insisted that she must speak with the president of the bank to open a savings account because, "It's a lot of money!"

After much hemming and hawing, the bank staff finally ushered her into the president's office (the customer is always right!)

The bank president then asked her how much she would like to deposit. She replied, "$165,000!" and dumped the cash out of her bag onto his desk.

The president was of course curious as to how she came by all this cash, so he asked her, "Ma'am, I'm surprised you're carrying so much cash around. "Where did you get this money?"

The old lady replied, "I make bets."

The president then asked, "Bets? What kind of bets?"

The old woman said, "Well, for example, I'll bet you $25,000 that your balls are square."

"Ha!" laughed the president, "That's a stupid bet. You can never win that kind of bet!"

The old lady challenged, "So, would you like to take my bet?"

"Sure," said the president, I'll bet $25,000 that my balls are not square!"

The little old lady then said, "Okay, but since there is a lot of money involved, may I bring my lawyer with me tomorrow at 10:00 AM as a witness?"

"Sure!" replied the confident president. That night, the president got very nervous about the bet and spent a long time in front of a mirror checking his balls, turning from side to side, again and again. He thoroughly checked them out until he was sure there was absolutely no way his balls were square and that he would win the bet.

The next morning, at precisely 10:00 am, the little old lady appeared with her lawyer at the president's office. She introduced the lawyer to the president and repeated the bet: "$25,000 says the president's balls are square!"

The president agreed with the bet again and the old lady asked him to drop his pants so they could all see. The president did. The little old lady peered closely at his balls and then asked if she could feel them.

"Well, Okay," said the president, "$25,000 is a lot of money, so I guess you should be absolutely sure."

Just then, he noticed that the lawyer was quietly banging his head against the wall. The President asked the old lady, "What the ****'s the matter with your lawyer?"

She replied, "Nothing, except I bet him $100,000 that at 10:00 AM today, I'd have The Bank of Canada's president's balls in my hand."

A Spanish Delicacy

An American touring Spain stopped at a local restaurant following a day of sightseeing. While sipping his sangria, he noticed a sizzling, scrumptious looking platter being served at the next table. Not only did it look good, the smell was wonderful. He asked the waiter, "What is that you just served?"

The waiter replied, " Ah senor, you have excellent taste! Those are bulls testicles from the bull fight this morning. A delicacy!"

The American, though momentarily daunted, said, "What the ****, I'm on vacation! Bring me an order!"

The waiter replied, "I am so sorry senor. There is only one serving per day because there is only one bull fight each morning. If you come early tomorrow and place your order, we will be sure to save you this delicacy!"

The next morning, the American returned, placed his order, and then that evening he was served the one and only special delicacy of the day. After a few bites, and inspecting the contents of his platter, he called to the waiter and said... "These are delicious, but they are much, much smaller than the ones I saw you serve yesterday!"

The waiter shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Si senor, sometimes the bull wins."

Grandma surfing

She used to make us cherry pies, and call us on the phone She would talk to us for hours; now she leaves us all alone.

We miss her homemade biscuits, and I'll make this little bet , If you want to contact Grandma, you'll have to surf the net.

Grandma's surfing on the net, you bet.

She is surfing on the net.

We've been calling her all morning, and we haven't got her yet.

She's on the E-mail network, with her electronic friends.

If you want to talk to grandma, you'll have to surf the net.

She's never surfed at Malibu, or caught a wave at Waikiki, She's never seen a surfboard: hang ten doesn't mean a thing.

She's never met a beach-bum--Noon Doggie is just a pup.

But when she heads for her computer, you know the surf is up.

Grandma's getting older and her eyes are getting dim Her random access memory, is half of what its been.

When Saint Peter comes to call someday, She'll say I can't go yet.

He'll have to wait for Grandma, cause she's surfing on the net.

Had a bran muffin from SB this morning, figured it was the worst of the carb no nos they have, but otherwise it was no food and I don't do well that way. I had an all protien lunch and having roast and veggies for dinner. It will all work itself out. Tomorrow I'm off to meet a new dr. not expecting anything great from this appt.

Sef: Ultracet is a pain med not a NSADI, it is used for RA, RSD and other nerve pain. I tried VIOXX in the beginning but it didn't do a thing for me. Also, the Kashi isn't SB legal.

Have a good week, all.

Just a quickie to say hello to those who venture onto the board over the next few hours...

CATLOVER, I would suggest you start off with approx. 1700-1800 calories. If you do 1700 calories approx 170 grams of carbs, 56 grams of fat and 127 grams of protein would be about what you'd be breaking it down if you were to follow a 40/30/30%. You can go a little less on the fat or protein and up the carbs a bit if you wish. This is just my suggestion

SEF, I don't buy the Kashi Go Lean for some reason or another. Sometimes it's just because there's not enoug fiber for me. I figure Fiber One has the most so that's what I'll buy, but I'm not a big cereal lover anyhow. Hope you start feeling better soon!! Thanks for posting those FF, even through all you're going through, you definitely do keep your sense of humor

FRUIT, boy, you sure look tiny to me!!!! Thanks for posting them-I'm sure you had a blast.

LDBLOND, good luck with the new Dr. - hope he has something positive to tell you, you never know!

Okay, going to head off and go watch some news. Will be on the board bright and early tomorrow to start off the new boards for the new week!!!

NITE!!
