  • Howdy!
Good morning ya'll. Just sitting here trying to catch up on emails and boards this morning. My computer lost it's mind yesterday and wouldn't work. I put in some major prayers last night and it seems to be okay today. Eating and walking...waiting on the pounds to finally start moving down again...it's gonna happen.

Susan....no I haven't tried the smoothies. I doubt I would find the time to make it in the mornings. It's 11 now and I've yet to have any thing to eat. I usually get my morning stuff done..walk and then eat around 12 or 1. Sometimes I do grab some fruit. I think Sundays is about the only day I actually eat breakfast..it's family day and we all sit down together. I know I should but knowing and doing are two different things.

Jack-K....your church fish fry sounds fun. I think it's cool you have the baked as well as the fried fish. I hear ya about the french fries. I made homemade cheese topped fried last night and did sneak one.

Bob...thanks for the encouragment. I really am loving having the treadmill in the livingroom. It's off to the side and I just pull it out and lower it...done put it back.

Monet...you got me.. I know they don't sweat but I still sweat like a pig...LOL I remember the days when I would "mist" like a true southern lady. But no way no how now. I get on that treadmill and it's way past the misting stage. I bet its fun around your house with your husband being southern and you being from up north. Lots of stuff to learn and share with each other. My old prayer partner use to live in NY. The stories she would tell. It truly was like being in two different worlds.

BKM...WTG on almost hitting the 16's. Sorry the divorce process is so slow and the lawyers are greedy. But hoping in the end you come out on top...and that the kids will find comfort from both you and yoru hubby. My kids didn't get that with their dad.

Kim....yes I really do love having the treadmill. It's only been what two weeks..but I put in 6 days the first week and am going for 6 again this week. I usually walk twice a day. About 10 in the morning during Maury...and then either in the afternoon or later in the evening. It depends on how pooped I feel. If I'm really tired I wait till the evening to kinda recoop from the day. I'm running behind this morning so I probably won't walk till noon. That way I can watch the news.

Agape...glad things are getting easier. Isn't it funny how we use to get too many calories and now getting enough is the issue.

Hey Wendy! Starting to feel a little better about it all. I get up several times at night also...doesn't matter when I drink my water though. But I'm sure it couldn't hurt to try and drink it earlier and see if that works for you.

Well I need to get back to the kids. They are actually almost finished with school this morning....yeah.

    Love,
    Crystle
  • It's a beautiful Friday in Texas!
I thought it would never get here, but here we are. The sun is finally shining after about 2 weeks of clouds and rainy weather and it's supposed to be a gorgeous week-end. Next week is Spring Break here, so I hope the weather holds. Seth (my 11 y/o, for those of you that don't know) is headed to the coast with a friend and his parents. Big brother is going to be awfully jealous that he's Spring Breakin' without him. Jordan may go camping with his buds but that's still up in the air. So, hubby and I may be all alone for a few days. My oh my, what will we do?

Well, the girls at work talked me into doing their wt loss challenge with them. I didn't do the last one (still not ready to weigh in public yet) but they have given me and 1 other person special dispensation to weigh alone. I really have been in a rut and decided I needed a little extra incentive.

Gotta run now. I hope everyone has a happy and safe week-end.

    Trish
  • Does this count?
Just got back from TOBOGGANNING for over an hour. Does that count as exercise??? DH got home early and DS is on March break, so we headed off to the hill. WE HAD A BLAST!!!! Walking up the hill over and over thru all the snow felt like a good workout. My snowpants actually felt looser when we were done than when we left the house.

Right now my boys are having hot chocolate and I'm having hot tea with milk.

I've mostly kept OP the past few days--seems to be getting easier as each day passes. It's much better NOT having the chips in the house for DH cause then I'm not tempted. I've been drinking water at night. I'm also keeping my hands busy when I'm in front of the TV by knitting. I've pulled out an afghan I started about 20 years ago Hey, maybe I'll finish it this year!

I hope you all are doing well. Sorry I haven't had a chance to check out the boards from the last couple of days.

Tomorrow my brother is taking DS for the day and overnight, so DH and I can work hard and do a lot of work in our investment house (does that count as exercise?) without interruption. So I probably won't be on this weekend either. But I do think of you all every day and hope that all of us who were struggling are doing better.

    Have a great weekend everyone!!!
  • I forgot...
I found this link on another board and thought that we could use this pick- me- up when we're having a bad day www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~geoffo/humour/flattery.html

Just enter your name at the prompt and follow instructions from there.
  • Good afternoon,

Yeaht he weekend is almost here. Getting ready to head to the fish fry. We took the guy at work that is leaving today out for lunch and I was so pround I stayed 100% OP and made everyone else to (there are 2 others that are SBing). Had broiled fish and a salad and water.

Serene loved the jokes, especially about the little girl in Sunday School.

Teensybean, WTG staying OP through all the ordeal yesterday. Hope they can help your DH soon.

Deb, take you some extra VitaminC and try to hold off that cold. WTG on getting out and walking even when you didn't feel good and doing the whole thing.

Melf sounds like you had a rough week and you desparately need a ME day. Enjoy yourself. THere are many days I want to work at Wal-Mart. Thanks for the reminder of the -strong-end. I will strive to have one.

Bob, Tell Kate to cheer loudly,m I think it's going to be a tough one.

Fillise, you can bake those cakes w/o any problem. Keep a damp towell with you at all times to wipe those fingers on. Have faith in yourself. I'll send some strong vibes your way on Sunday. I know you can do it!

Renee, Have a great time at curves and a great weekend.

Country, those pounds will be dropping off soon. Just hang in there. Maybe you are glistening.

Trish I think the weight loss challenge at work will be fun and a lot of incentive. You & DH have son fun now

Zanne, I think all that is considered exercise. Sounds like fun. Congrats on being OP for the ast few days, it does get easier.

Have a great weekend everyone. Stay strong now.

    Jackie
  • Weight Loss Challenge
I forgot to mention, the challenge is everyone participating forks over $40. Winner take all at the end of 2 months. It's done on a percentage.
  • Evening All

Thought I'd get in a post while the house is all mine and before I go veg out on the couch.

DM and I went to a few stores today to get some food items, nothing exciting at all. Just wanted to get out of the house for a few hours and spend a little time with the old gal. She's had a friend here for a few weeks so I hadn't seen as much of her as I usually do.

Tomorrow is garage sale day. Not many listed in the paper but going to go out just the same. It's my day off from exercise and I'm taking full advantage of it!

Happy to report that I've made the challenge on the water as well today - 90oz and still counting!!!!

MELF, sorry to hear they've been running you so ragged that you'd think about quitting. It must REALLY be that bad! Hope it settles down. I hope you enjoyed your day out. What a cute name of a restaurant! Wonderful news to see you going down in the direction you want. Hoping I can say the same!!! Thanks for posting that FF, I too have seen it but it's always fun to read it again.

JACKK, have to admit, quite a few made me smile Good for you for staying OP at lunch and I'm SURE you'll do just as good at the fish fry!!!!!

BOB, you and ELI both seem to be having re-occuring car trouble. He got stuck last night as his was overheating. He HAS to go find a car and ASAP. Poor guy, another monthly bill he just doesn't need, and can't afford to have. What year is your car?

FILLISE, you know, I was so obsessed with that scale before, but now, after putting it away, it's like, outta sight, outta mind! MICHAEL took it out one time and didn't put it away and I almost stepped on it and then I said, "why bother?" I don't know the last time I weighed in but I really don't care. I know I'm eating OP and exercising and that's what matter's most to me right now, why bother if I know that I'm doing what I should be. I'll weigh in eventually but even if I don't like what I see it just may be that the scale is up that day for one reason or another but it won't be from not doing this WOE or exercising! I'm sure you'll do great on Sunday, just think of a miniture me sitting on your shoulder E-mail me your snail mail and I'll get some of this spice out to you if you'd like to try.

MEESH, thanks for the hello-no matter how short the message, it's always appreciated as it shows we are on your mind How'd you do at CURVES today?

    COUNTRY

TRISH, spring break doesn't start down here til the end of the month. PALEEESE, I have some thoughts of things you can do with DH all alone. Tiddlywinks is one of them That's great you are going to do the challenge. Was curious about the details so was glad you posted about it otherwise I was ready to ask. How many people are doing it?

ZANNE, hmmm, not sure, how strenuous is it to tobogan? Hope you get a lot accomplished in the house. Thanks for the site, it was nice but it didn't say Debbie is skinny

Okay gals, I'm outta here. I'll check in before I have to go get LAUREN at school around 9pm, that is, unless MR COFFEE picks her up!

    Later!

  • My FRIDAY FUNNY CONTRIBUTION!

    TIME FOR A PAYRAISE

Mr. Penis-Head requests a raise in salary for the following reasons:

    I do physical labour
    I work at great depths
    I work head first
I do not get personal vacation days, weekends off, or public holidays
I work in a damp environment
    I don't get paid overtime
I work in a dark workplace that has poor ventilation
    I work in high temperatures
My work exposes me to contagious diseases

    Response from the administration:

After assessing your request, and considering the arguments you have raised, the administration rejects your request for the following reasons:

You do not work 8 hours straight
You fall asleep on the job after brief work periods
You do not always follow the orders of the management team
You do not stay in your allocated position, and often visit other areas
You take a lot of non-approved breaks
You do not take initiative -- you need to be pressured and stimulated in order to start working
You leave the workplace rather messy at the end of your shift
You don't always observe Office of Health & Safety measures, such as wearing the correct protective outfits
You don't wait till pension age before retiring
You don't like working double shifts
You sometimes leave your allocated position before you have completed the day's work
And if that were not all, you have been seen constantly entering and leaving the work place carrying 2 suspicious looking bags.

    CURRENCY EXCHANGE

An Asian man walked into the currency exchange in New York with 2000 yen and walked out with $19.

The following week, he walked in with 2000 yen, and but was handed only $18. He asked the teller why he got less money than he got last week. The teller said, "Fluctuations."

The Asian man stormed out, but just before slamming the door, he turned around and said, "Fluc you Amelicans too!"
  • A FEW FUTURE CHALLENGES WILL REQUIRE TWO ITEMS. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE YOU CAN GET THEM IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM IT WOULD BE GREAT, SO, IF YOU WISH, YOU COULD PARTICIPATE IN THE UPCOMING CHALLENGES THAT THEY'D BE USED IN

One item you will need is a FOOD SCALE It doesn't have to be fancy. It can be one of those cheap ones. I've seen them at dollar stores in the past. If you are inclined to buy a digital one I know stores like BED, BATH & BEYOND have them (use your coupon girls), WALMART, TARGET, etc. have them. Some of these stores should have the cheap little ones as well.

Second item is a CLOTH MEASURING TAPE. Walmart, fabric store and again, even some dollar stores carry them.

HOPE IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM YOU CAN GET THEM!!!
  • Tonight I am very sad and brokenhearted. Late this afternoon, I had to unexpectedly make the decision to have my beloved, 12 year old Greyhound, Miles, put to sleep. He was a sweet and gentle boy that touched my heart in special way. I was blessed to be able to adopt him three years ago after he had come out of an abusive home. He was very special and I am devastated right now. I'm sure you'll understand if I don't get to the board this weekend. I may not be up to it...............

    Take Care,
    Wendy
  • Oh Wendy, I'm so sorry...I can't even begin to know what you're going thru...just remember, you gave him a PERFECT home and I know he was very grateful..
    BOB
  • WENDY, my condolences. I know that this has to be very hard on you as I know how you love those dogs of yours. That dog knew you rescued him and knew how much you loved him right til the end. I know it's not an easy decision to make and it's one made out of love. My heart's with you!!!

  • Oh, Wendy, I am so sorry! (((((Serene))))) That is heartbreaking. I hope you find peace and comfort in this time of sadness....you are in my prayers.
  • Friday night and day 5 of posting to 3FC, the reward is in itself, thank you.

Discovered this morning that the cereal I'm eating has more than the daily allottment of carbs, so I need to really watch it when I eat it. Did good though, a ww tortilla for lunch and the breading on the fish sticks for dinner, in fact I believe that was my only truly illegal food today. Still probably eating too much, but each day I can curb this a little more.

Serene: Condolences on your loss. It's hurts so much to lose a pet. my thoughts are with you.
  • Hello All: It has been really busy and I have not been able to get on the board...took a water pill today and have not stopped peeing - so that is a good thing - I have eaten nothing but salads, very little carbs....gave up sodas again, been drinking water and unsweet tea only...I have been walking as well - tonight I walked a mile, but I would have gone further if I was not so tired.... Very saddened by Serene's loss, Miles was gorgeous and sweet, a definitely beautiful boy who will be sorely missed. Tomorrow morning I have to get up and run over to help my boss's mother with her taxes, so basically a lot of work for that day...though she said she has made me some tabouli and salad for lunch She is a wonderful Middle Eastern cook!!!! Not to mention a very sweet lady. So, off to bed now so I can get up early in morning!!!

    Night all! Sabrina
