Well, I am discovering that this may not be as easy as I thought. I need to learn to eat less pts at breakfast and more later in the day.

I seem to end up with 8pts left for supper at night, is that about right? I feel good, so still taking it one day at a time, until I learn everything about points.

MagicEyez: Look how happy you are in that pic!! HAHA!! How fun! I am having a rough week too girl. We are all doing the right things.

Chickadee: I tend to go over on my points if I don't eat the same thing for breakfast every day. Its like, what I eat first sets my rhythm for the day....

Today's menu (still TOM, still a ravenous animal, still feel crappy) I have a weird work day on Tuesday's so I tend to snack all day.
Breakfast:
Egg, 2 pts
veggie bacon, 1 pt
tomato slices, 0pt

AM Snack:
1/2 cup of beef vegetable soup, 2 pts
snack package of cheese-its, 4 pts
Clementine, 0pt

Lunch:
Egg salad, 4pts
1/2 a sandwich slim, 1pts
Carrot Sticks, 0pt
clementine, 0pt

PM Snack
grilled chicken salad, 4pts
String cheese, 2 pts
Clementine, 0pts
Saltines, 2 pts

Dinner (when I finally get home at 8:30)
Left over deer sloppy joes, 3 pts
sandwich slim, 2 pts
pickles, 0pts

And finally, after i snuggle up with my little family... And watch Girls (ep. 2)
Hot tea, 0pts
94% FF pop corn, 3pts

You'll figure out what kind of budget works best for you. 8 points left for dinner wouldn't work for me. I want to eat the most at night! Sounds like you nailed down your hungry time as afternoon, so if that works well for you to eat a lot in the afternoons and then have a lighter supper, then that's perfectly ok!

I have a 5 pt breakfast, a 4 pt snack at 10:30, a 7-8 pt lunch at 12:30, a 3 pt snack at 3:30. Then I use about 15-18 points for supper and have a little snack before bed (usually a 1 pt Edy's fruit bar). The stuff I eat during the day doesn't vary much. Maybe different flavors, but the same foods over and over.

Way to stick to it though! You can make the plan your own. You're doing great!

bobbiedoll....congrats on the loss!

chickadee...i also find it takes a lot of experimentation about how budgeting your points works best for you...it seems to be part of the process! I don't eat dinner til 10 some nights, so that is a very small dinner with more healthy snacks through the day. on Fridays, I sometimes want a burrito bowl from Chipotle, so I save my points for dinner and have more veggies throughout the day. I think this plan is great in that you can eat what you want for a meal as long as you make up for it elsewhere!

This has been a good week for me so far. I hope for everyone else, too

MagicEyez - don't be jealous. I'm sure I wont lose much this week at all. LOL. My body is cruel to me when it comes to weight loss, especially now that I'm back at the gym. I lose weight fairly easily when I don't exercise but as soon as I start working out my body wants no part of letting go of anything. I'm hoping it'll be different this time. Who knows?! -1.5lbs is better than +1.5lbs. Slow and steady!

chickadeee55 - I eat between a 5-7pt breakfast in the morning because I, like many others, want to eat at night. I also work out before dinner, so I'm even hungrier. I agree with smashlers though. What I eat for breakfast kinda sets the rhythm for the rest of the day. Also, I second Veneficae in that I eat a lot of the same things over and over. Same concept, but I change the flavor so I don't get bored. Breakfast is usually 5pts, 1pt AM snack (usually fruit and cheese or yogurt), 10-11pt lunch, 1-2pt snack (veggie and hummus or some sort of dip) and then a 14-17pt dinner.

Bobbiedoll03 - WOOHOO on your loss!!! Welcome!

straightahead I like WW because of the flexibility!

---------

ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz...I need a nap. Today is one of those I can't get out of my own way kinda days.

DH and I went to spin last night. I rode for 68 minutes and did 24 miles. The calculator says I earned 17 points! WOW! Interesting fact I learned when plugging in my time. I was over by 30 some odd points from my terrible weekend, but adding the activity it reduced the amount of points I'm over. Which has been great motivation to hit the gym so I keep burning off those extra points I ate this weekend.

Did anyone watch "The Following" on Monday night? OMG - so creepy and good. I must have jumped 18 times. DH says I can't watch it before bed anymore because it kept me up.

------------

Breakfast
Vitatop Muffin w/ PB2 and banana - 5pts

Snack
Orange + Yoplait light w/ fiber - 1pt

Lunch
Roast chicken, cheese, avocado and veggie on sandwich thin - 8pts
Special K Sour Cream and onion cracker chips - 3pts
Bell Pepper Strips - 0pts
Apple - 0pts

Snack/dinner - 17pts left - dinner out with the inlaws

SoMuchFattitude * I reckon you're right ... -1.5 is much better than +1.5 !!! LoL !!! Maybe you're losing more inches than #'s now that you're back in the gym?? I'm kinda wonderin if that's going on with me. Someone just this morning said that my britches look a little baggy today ~ lol.

I'm kinda wonderin if maybe I'm not eating 'enough' to be 'pushin so hard in Zumba .. But, surely that's not the case. Its not like I've got an exercise routine that's KILLING me!?! I'll continue to do as I'm doing though ... Hopefully the scales will be a bit nicer to me this weekend for weigh-in. I was hoping my Biggest Loser video would be in yesterday, but no such luck ... Maybe today?! So I did another hour of Zumba last night, along with my jog/walk on the driveway. I will probably alternate between the two along with the 30 Day Shred when it comes in. A friend of mine is going to copy her 'Intensity' video for me ... Have any of you guys done that one?! From what I've heard its TOUGH!!!! A lot of jumping ... I'm fat, I don't jump!!! lol ...

Oatmeal (3pts) & Yogurt (2 pts) for breakfast = 5
Salad (2pts) w/ 5 Crackers (1 pt) & Smart One (4pts) for lunch = 7 pts
.. Not sure on Dinner yet & Im sure there will be some kind of snack in between?!

smashlers ** I'm telling ya ... Standing next to that man for those 2 minutes made me the happiest girl in the whole wide world!! lol ... Maybe I can meet him again and be -20 lbs and not all boobs!! I really hate that!!! ... lol

PS ~~ Happy Hump Day !!!!!

An egg and one slice of toast for ...... 3 pts.
So hoping for a smooth crave free day!

Yeah, I watch my inches too because I get so frustrated when I don't see scale numbers. Maybe you should take your inches too and watch them!

I run into the whole balancing working out and eating thing too. I'm trying to listen to my body though and if I'm hungry eat a piece of fruit or something. I read that if you're truly hungry eating one apple will reduce your hunger. So, I'm trying to eat an apple now when I'm hungry and then evaluate after I work out.

I did 30DS for a bit. You'll be sore. LOL

I do not do plyometrics (jumping.) That's a good way to either give myself a blackeye from my boobs or break something.

I did pull an old pair of blue jeans out of the closet that I got last summer and wore, that I had gotten too big for during the fall .. Couldnt even get 'em buttoned ... and today, I was able to button 'em ... But still ... Thats not enough for me ~ i want / need to see some number changes.

chickadeee55: You are doing great, one day at a time . I also agree, what I eat for breakfast always sets my rhythm. I will almost always have a cup of oatmeal with fruit or something similar. This costs me no more than 5 points, but makes me feel full, powerful, and in control. I also almost never spend points on things that are not part of my staple meals, so for snacking it's always a fruit or veggie. This keeps me snacking smartly. I heard something once that sounded profound to me: Breakfast does't have to look like breakfast. We just trick ourselves into thinking that there are certain staples for each meal, which, when you think about it, is quite silly. If I ate chicken, I could have chicken every morning if I wanted to, especially if protein was how I best started my day. I imagine the same could be said about supper. Our suppers are usually quite small because our day is winding down, and it's around 7pm, and chances are I'll be in bed 2 1/2 hours later. I personally sleep better when I don't have a heavy dinner. Have you tried pre-planning your day so that you can manipulate where you most want your points?

SoMuchFattitude: Congrats on the loss this week, and for continuing your journey. You are doing amazing . And holy crap on your spin class points!!

MagicEyez: Down is down! And I know how you feel. I ate Panago this week, and it hurt. Learned my lesson! P.S. You look amazing in the picture, so happy! As for the loss, there are so many factors that can cause a loss and a gain, and I won't get into it because I'm sure you already know all about it. Don't get discouraged, you will see the numbers change. A watched pot never boils . Now, to go and take my own advice...

Bobbiedoll03: Welcome! Congrats on your loss!

straightahead: Glad you had a good week

shell0416: Congrats on your loss, that's great!

I'm still here. I've just had this insanely busy week where I wind up staying late at the office, running errands, and going almost directly to bed.

Stayed on plan all week... until yesterday and today. I'm just glad that being "off plan" is a rare occurrence, unlike how it used to be where binging was my life. It's not that I binged, per say, I just didn't make great choices with the foods I was eating. I have dipped into my weekly, but still have a ton of weekly points left, and haven't touched my activity points.

Completely off-topic, but my furnace scares the business out of me. I have this minor (major) fear of dying in a fire, and our sensor has been all wonky, and not reading the heat. So the furnace will start up, and immediately shut down. It will go through this cycle, in a very loud and scary manner, for about 10-15 minutes, before shutting off completely, and starting again an hour or two later. Long story short, I haven't been sleeping because the noise wakes me up in the middle of the night (several times), and it's difficult to get back to sleep after my heart pounding and adrenaline slows down, LOL. I know how completely ridiculous this sounds... Anyhoo, we had the furnace checked today, and the wonderful Atco lady cleaned the sensor, and we are now back in business. I am so excited to sleep tonight.

Does anyone else have any crazy, senseless fears?

I'm off to bed, a big day tomorrow for our newest pet, getting his first vet checkup, and kitten shots (I am such a nerd... Or a crazy cat lady. Maybe both.).

Any senseless fears: this is so silly but, I sew alot (quilt maker), but I fear the sewing machine needle going through my finger. Weird, huh! It has never happened to me, but for some reason I do not like threading it, because I think it will come down on my finger. (even though I know the machine has to be running to do that.

Interesting topic, can't wait to see what others say,

I am deathly afraid of that needle breaking and flinging straight into my eye! I was JUST talking about this! I made a dog sweater the other day and knew I was going to break one (I was past due), I just didn't know when.

My fear is scary. I am afraid my house is going to get broke into while I am in bed. We live on a dead end and against woods.... I have always been afraid of home invasion. And magnets. Highly magnetic magnets. lol.

I weigh in today. I was fairly good all week, I just was bloated and grumpy and ravenous. Stupid TOM. I am calling a gain or a very small loss, but would totally accept -1lbs I didn't exercise AT ALL. Next week I WILL get some serious AP's. Next week will be better.

Have a great day!

i am not magiceyez, but I will chime in that zumba is great, and you do not need to be coordinated! just go in with the attitude that it is fine to mess up (because people do all the time)...and it is a lot of fun.

16 points for spinning? wow! i usually count my hour spin class as 6 points...I tend to be conservative because I do eat my activity points that day (instead of the weekly allowance points, though I will dip into the weekly points for a splurge if needed)

my work has made health coaches available to us....they want us to lose weight and have healthier habits so health costs go down. I started emailing the coach and this looks like the accountability I need (that I am missing by not doing meetings)

I also have to recommend some good fat free ranch.....mix 8 oz of nonfat greek yogurt with a packet of hidden valley ranch salad dressing and seasoning mix (not the dip mix)....and add skim milk to texture. I have been dipping broccoli into it and I really like it

Have a great day!
