Hey everyone! I joined WW online today and, since today was a hangover day, I decided to start my tracking tomorrow.

I'm really excited to get back on track!

I hope you're all doing well.

Venifacae: awwww bummer! I have forgotten about how crn counts too. Hey, on the bright side it's not like you "forgot" that pizza counted, lol.

Thewalrus: Welcome! I too had some spirits last night. Whatever, it was Friday and I was on plan all week and I wanted it damn it! So, yes, I dipped into my extra points... That's why they are there!

Hey... Thewalrus. Why not do it now? Part of Weight Watchers is learning to fit healthy eating into your whole life. That means after parties too. It's too easy to say "I'll start tomorrow". Start today! Start now!

Hi everybody! I've been on weight watchers for about 3 weeks now. I'm 28, married, a graduate student who wants to lose weight for my health and to get pregnant after I hit goal. I have asthma and PCOS. I am a binge eater and a bored eater, but I've found once I really committed to WW that I could control both! I am super excited about WW because I feel like I never knew what to eat or how much before.

Hey, I've started my tracking today. I let myself dip into my extra points just because, since my last time on WW, I've forgotten typical points values and so accidentally had a much higher point value for breakfast than I'd intended. My goal is to save my other weekly points for pizza sometime this week. Some of my favorite foods are very high calorie, like pizza and pastas so I plan to save my weekly points for a splurge each week on a higher calorie meal.

I think I can do this. I just have to be careful with dipping into my weekly points. I have a tendency to say 'oh it's just 5 points' and then suddenly I'm halfway through the week with 2 weekly points left! So my goal will be to stay in my daily points and save my weeklies for my weekend or for a big meal sometime during the week.

I'm pretty stoked. Once I have some of my favorite foods stored up it will be easier to mentally estimate the points. Of course I will accurately track them...but it helps to decide on dinner if I can think 'ooh I have 15 points left what would be good for that...' and then go from there.

I'm not the kind of person who can plan meals a whole day ahead of time. I usually plan on a meal to meal basis, hehe. It works out for me as long as I plan my meal a few hours before. I often decide at work what I'll be wanting for dinner.

I did it, I went to my first meeting today as a visitor, it was very interesting, I could not believe the number of people there. All types of people and personalities. I did my weigh in and got my starter kit, so I am now a WW. I will start tracking today, but I think I already used some of my extra points which I think I get every week. So, will see how it goes. I have a real problem with afternoon stress eating, so need to nip that in the butt righ away.
Hope to be part of your thread everyday.

Veneficae: I think we've all done that. I can honestly say that I have! I have so many idiosyncracies surrounding my weight that my weigh-in has turned into almost ritualistic behaviour. It has to be when I first wake up, post-pee, pre-shower, no clothing. I will often step on the scale twice to be sure . We all have our scale demons! As for the edamame, it could have been much worse, like a cup of cookies, or a cup of chocolate. Good way to go.

shell0416: Welcome to the thread! Any way that we can support you, we will be there .

oksoitsjen: If you're ever looking for anyone to run some stuff through the recipe builder, just send me a PM and I'd be glad to do it for ya .

thewalrus0: Welcome! Plenty of water will take care of that hangover. Don't they always seem worth it when we're drinking? LOL

PUPMOM5: Welcome! I'm also doing this for pregnancy health (and long term, of course). Getting healthy helps avoid things like gestational diabetes, and will make sure the pregnancies are not too hard on our bodies . Good luck!

chickadeee55: Glad to hear it! One day at a time, right? . Use the extra points, that's what they're there for.

Hello, weekend! I was sooo looking forward to you .

Sometimes I just get so tired of talking about my weight, and challenges. So I'm going to share some things about me that are not all about weight loss.

I am 29 (30 this year). I have been married since August 2012, I am so lucky to have married my best friend. I have 3 kitties, Squirtle (8 years we think, he's lived with me for 4 years), Mon (4 years, he's lived with me for 3 years), and Joey (22 weeks, we've had him since he was 8 weeks old). They are all rescues, have their own unique personalities, and they are like our little children. So cliche. Joey is grooming Squirtle as we speak. They are so sweet!

That's all I've got. Have a great day, ladies!

I will follow MandeLea's lead and share a bit more about me.

I think I have mentioned I am a teen librarian, I work at a medium sized library in southern Indiana. I love to read teen fiction, it's in my job description! Right now I am reading Every Day by David Levithan and I love it, I am also reading Code Name Verity, also very good and should win several awards this year. I just recently bought a new Prius, and I love it. It's like a video game. My boyfriend is amazing, and very handy and creative. We do a lot of work on our 100 year old farm house. It's like we are mini- homesteaders! He drives a veggie oil powered 1988 turbo diesel Mercedes Benz. We love that car, it is pretty hip. I like to think we ride the fine line between hippy or hillbilly. We have two schnauzers, two cats, and 9 chickens! I am also really enjoying the presence of the beautiful cardinals and bluebirds that call my yard a refuge.

Chickadee......I fell into WW the same way. I call it dumb luck seeing as well that mostly how my luck goes. Slaps me in the face everytime but is always the best thing that ever happens to me....All in all, I am so glad that I went, experienced and reached my goal....
Mandelea......... Thank you for your welcome. I so glad I can be involved in a group that is so helpful and encouraging..... I have a dog and cat that pretend all day that they can't stand each other then you find them curled up together on our spare bed in the middle of the night..... What characters, but how can you not love them.......

I haven't been posting much the last few days. I have been so busy but I have still managed to stay on track. I had some Sour Patch Kids last night...they are my favorite and one of my biggest weaknesses. BUT I calculated the points and took it from me weekly. I got tons of errands run yesterday and signed up for my real estate class. I start on Monday! YAY!!!

Today we went to our state park and went hiking. I think we did a total of 4 miles and went to another local park after and walked about a mile. I got some great exercise and the weather was perfect today!! I ate a lot today and used a ton of weekly points!!

Breakfast
Coffee/Creamer 2pts
Veggie sausge/2patties 4pts
English Muffin 3pts
2 eggs 4 pts

AM Snack
Banana 0pts
Carrots 0pts

Lunch
String cheese 1pt
Turkey Sandwich 5pts
Mayo 1pt
Cheddar rice cakes 4pts

Dinner
Grilled Tilapia 6pts-took 2pts from weekly points.
Steamed mixed veggies 2pts

Total 30pts
Unused 0pts

Weekly points used
Maple Blondie 12.5pts for half.
Sour Patch Kids 4pts for 16pcs.

I will also jump in and tell a little about myself! I am 25 and single. Just got out of a long relationship. I live with my best friend and her husband. I manage a pharmacy and work part time for a church helping with their childrens ministry. I love to read, blog, paint and craft! I'm a total free spirit. I am starting class to get my real estate license and I am very very excited about starting something new! I am so glad to be here will all of you wonderful ladies!!

Sorry this is such a long post! Hope y'all are enjoying your weekend!!

@smashlers: That sounds like an amazing job! I love reading; I do it for hours every day of my life. If you read teen fiction, then perhaps you've read The Hunger Games? I don't often read young adult fiction but I was pretty impressed by it! When I finish graduate school, I hope to teach English at the community college level.

Seeing all the cat-owners makes me smile. I work at a vet - I actually run the grooming department but I had a freak back injury at the end of July and I am semi-permanently retired to reception. I have seven cats and 3 dogs! Every one is a rescue and almost all of the cats have health problems that would make it difficult to rehome them. But I love them to death and I love my life (as constantly filled as it is with litter-box cleaning, nail trimming and feeding.) They're really funny because you never see more than 2 in a room, the whole house is sort of adapted to their lazy lives.

Today I'm going over to my mom and future step-father's house to help them with their taxes and fix their computer, then we're going to Olive Garden. Maybe it's the ultra-planner in me, but I really like planning out what I'm going to have and how many points that will be. For instance, every serving of salad is going to be 4 points and each serving of minestrone soup is 2 points. I think I'll have 1 salad and 2 bowls of soup. I finally feel like I control the food and it's not the food controlling me.

I'm a cat person too! I have four big babies..mama cat was a feral that gave birth in my garage and then was hit by a truck on the road when they were tiny .

I'm 33 and live in South Dakota with my kids, ages 15 and 9. I'm a domestic abuse survivor, still battling with my ex husband and a justice system that wants to wait until a guy puts someone in the morgue before they put him behind bars!

I'm a seamstress and clothing designer by accident. I picked up sewing as a hobby while going to college to be a teacher. Hated teaching, love sewing! I make a lot of Renaissance fair costumes and I'm the official costumer for a few Civil War reenactment groups around the country. I also fairly often get talked into designing costumes for my daughter's ballet company.

To stay active, my kids and I LOVE geocaching and letterboxing.

Here's something I just found on the "veggie challenged" board. Plain canned pumpkin + pie spice + Splenda + microwave = free pumpkin pie!

Happy Sunday! I just did my second weigh-in of being back on ww. I lost about 1.2 lbs this week for a total of 4.4 lbs lost. I am happy with that because it was a rough week...and last night i ate way too much....a foot long sub and Doritos from Subway when i know a 6- inch and fruit would have been satisfying. Especially when I felt icky and full of food afterwards. Lesson learned. I had the weekly points to spend, but that still did not mean I needed it!

My goal this week is going to be to not have any binges like last night. And to stop being so critical of my appearance and slip ups...focus on the fact that i just need to lose 5.6 lbs to have lost the first 5% of my body weight and stay focused on the benefits that are ahead if I stick with a healthier lifestyle. A fun goal will be to make these oatmeal-flax-honey energy balls I saw on pintrest

Sunday funday, Ladies! I have been cooking all morning and it feels good to be prepared. We stocked up on tons of veggies and I am taking my leaders advice and cutting everything up so its ready to use when I am ready to. I am going to try and make some butternut squash bisque from scratch this week, I will tell you all how this potential disaster goes. I also made some egg salad, and mini quiches to have ready to pack in my lunch all week.

Today's menu:
Egg 2 pts
fakin' bacon 1 pt

Lunch:
Spaghetti squash and veggie medley with feta, 6pts (oil, delicious oil)

Dinner:
We are going out for Greek. I ate as few points as possible so I can feel free to enjoy myself tonight.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, back to the grind tomorrow. (Isn't MLK day a federal holiday? Why do I have to work?! >:0 ...)
