So when there are two exercises listed that means each thing is a set, complete both and go to the next set?

Shannon, I think that's the idea, to superset each pair of exercises. However, I have to do stones heavy tomorrow and a push press/double under metcon, all in the morning, so I will have to pick something that won't kill me for that, but will still suck enough to be an honorable birthday wod. I'll get back to you.

Okay, I think I've got one. I don't have the equipment to do some of those at home, so how about this: (the reps are just 6-7-20-10 for today's date)

6 pull-ups
29 double unders (since I'm guessing Lydia is "29" years old)
7 deadlifts (135# for me since I don't have any small plates yet)
29 burpees
20 walking lunges (25# plate overhead for me, since I don't have DBs)
29 double unders
10 T push-ups
* 4 rounds, since Lydia joined 3FC in 2006

It looks like a good enough suck to me, and hopefully won't kill me for stone loading and overhead presses tomorrow. I've got some errands and work to do first, but will do this tonight. PS- I changed it up a little, originally had jumprope singles instead of burpees/double unders, but doing both seems like a good compromise.

Anything with double unders and burpees is just plain cruel!

Wow Cheryl. Very impressed. Nice WOD. Thanks! And yep. It's the anniversary of my 29th birthday. Again.

Actually, I turn 42 today. Wow that sounds so much more mature (dignified not old) than I really feel. 42. I'm far to silly to be 42! That's just nuts. I'll tell you a little secret...I'm still googling websites looking for suggestions on how to deal with turning 40! Two years later! I really should command more from others and throw my age around a little bit. Seriously. In my mind's eye, I feel like I'm barely 24. It's beginning to sink in though. My mother asked about my workout this morning and as I rattled it off she's like, "Not bad. Not bad" and I'm thinking, yeah. AND...I'm 42

Thanks for all the birthday wishes from all of you. Wow. All the cakes and candles and balloons! I FEEL SO SPECIAL. :

It really turned out to be a fantastic birthday. DH is in VA. He did his fair share of moping and whining about not being here for my Bday. And admittedly I woke up thinking this is just plain going to suck. But you know what? My girlfriends TOTALLY took care of me. I am so grateful to be surrounded by such a wonderful circle of friends. It was all hugs at drop off at school and a potluck lunch hosted at one of their homes after my workout. WONDERFUL. One of my friends made these beautiful bud vases for me (colored glass that matches the red and gold interior of my home) and another girlfriend printed of six smiley faces and gave each one hair to represent each member of our group. She framed this and then wrote on the bottom, "To be filled with a real photo soon." Another one of us is a photographer. Very special day!

Oh. and my cake was a cocoa rice crispy square with a candle on top. Do these women know me or what!

Anyway, Thanks again to all of you fine ladies as well and thanks to Cheryl I have my own birthday WOD. Rock on.

Mel, I know, but it's for Lydia. I personally would have skipped all that burpee and jumproping madness, but Lydia said, so I tried to do my best with what I can do at home. Speaking of which, I just got home and got the groceries put away and dogs settled and all that, so I'd better do this awful birthday goodness before it gets any later. Hopefully I can get my crippled behind out of bed in the morning, lol! I'll be back with my time. Please don't let it take an hour, please don't let it take an hour....

Dang, edit: Lydia, glad you had such a good birthday!!! Sounds like you have a great group of friends, there!

Whose idea was this stupid workout? 32:39 Should have switched the overhead walking lunges and the pull-ups around, otherwise it wasn't bad. The burpees were the worst of anything and seemed to take forever. Anyway, Happy Birthday, Lydia!

You're welcome! (here, happy birthday, have some SWEAT! ) Hope your dh will be home soon, so you can celebrate with him! I'm going to be 41 this year, btw, so I'm right there with you...feeling pretty darn good about what I can do "at my age", but no matter how I bust my butt, no way I can keep up with the 30 year olds. Wish I'd discovered CF at 20. (sigh)

Oh, I don't know if I told you guys about what my awesome trainers gave me after the regionals: an oly bar and bumper plates (45s and 25s)! They were selling the old bumpers, so they could afford to keep the new ones they bought to use for regionals. I actually had the money to buy them, but they wouldn't let me pay, and they insisted on giving me a barbell so I could actually use the plates. Anyway, it was a very cool gift, to say the least! I need to buy some smaller plates for overhead stuff, but it's nice to have the bar at home, so if I get stuck doing a wod at home, I now have more options than push-ups, air squats, box jumps and sit-ups!

I have to get to the gym, so I will check in later.

Lydia - sounds like you had a great birthday!Your friends are cool! I had some chaos ensue last night so didn't make an evening workout, but have the "Lydia" on tap for this afternoon, using Cheryl's version. I may have to lower the weight on the DL, but may not. Dunno. My PR so for is 100. I'll post time and weight tonight.

Cheryl - cool about the oly bar and plates!

Tired tired tired today. New fridge delivering this afternoon. Finally. Finally more room for fresh veggies.

Good day all!

I'm SO lost now. For me, a burpee is either a towel you put on your shoulder before picking up a baby OR that horrible feeling I got when someone squished my body in a Ardyss Full Body Shaper. LOL!!! Clearly burpee doesn't mean the same thing to you all.

Happy Belated Lydia. I feel you on NOT feeling the age that the number says, but then again, Jay-Z says 40 is the new 20 and who are WE to dispute him?

Mel, Goodness Gracious woman!!! Your right hamstring is probably cursing you out for 1.5 years of torture. I hope the exercises help you to heal up and get back to 100%. Then again, with all you've been doing with an injury, once you are all healed, the crossfitters better WATCHOUT!!

Nelie, so glad you are loving the crossfit. Nothing like doing something you love that's GOOD for you.

Rabbit, welcome back to the front burner - for both of us

Hi rest of the gang and Happy Tuesday to you all!!!!

I am officially the parent of a high school graduate - AND when we finally got home at the end of the day, his dorm room assignment info was in the mailbox - he got into the engineering residential college!!!! I made myself work my legs yesterday AM but got in no cardio (not enough time). I'm treating myself to a riverfront walk at lunch, followed by treadmill time this evening. Someone reminded me yesterday that I need to take time to LIVE so that's what I'm gonna do. After all, I won't be 29+ forever.
