My car story... I didn't realize I didn't pop it in here, too. I'm copying it from another thread.
I feel like I was living in some sort of dream all week last week... Dishwasher delivered and installed on Monday. Refrigerator delivered and installed on Tuesday, I had to fix the water line from the house because the installers don't do that. Wednesday was moderately normal. Thursday & Friday we were at the car dealer all night, ended up buying two new cars on Friday. DH has wanted a convertible Mustang forever, he used to drive one but traded it in after he and his wife divorced so he could carry the baby in the car. He had found one he wanted, but was reluctant to trade his CRV and leave us without a car that had some cargo space. My Accord has a flaw in the rear brake system (all 2008, 2009 & early 2010 do, actually) that is going to require rear brake work every 15-18K miles, and it dropped 4k in resale value since 5/1. As a result, I went from just at $1k upside down to just over $5k... Called my Honda dealer and told them they needed to cut me a good enough deal on a new CRV with all the fancy options I had in my Accord to offset the negative equity. As per usual, she came through with a 2010 EX-L Navi for just at cost and a fantastically better interest rate, had it delivered to me in North Atlanta from Auburn Alabama Saturday morning. So, went with DH to the Ford dealership Friday night to get the Mustang, which we drove around in all weekend. Took it to show his mom, my folks, drove it all over. Got a pretty nice sunburn, haven't exercised since Wednesday night (other than my AM yoga), have eaten terrible since Wednesday.
DH's new 'Stang. 2001 V6, 305 HP, they call this color Red Candy Metallic. I think in the good ol' days it was still just "Candy Apple Red".
Because someone had to have a family car in the family. And, I wanted the Accord to be gone. Enjoying this one so far.
And, to add to it - windshield in my car got broken by a rock on the way in to work this morning. So apparently not quite back to normal yet. Or, back to what is closer to my normal life than I want to admit. Hmm...
You have actually inspired me a bit as I'm now looking at cars. We plan to drive my husband's Rav4 into the ground but it is already having some quirks that make long road trips not so pleasant and like you, we need one of our cars to have some cargo space for camping, hauling, etc. So we don't want to get a new car for him yet but I've been wanting to get rid of my car because I want something smaller, more fuel efficient but still fun. So the plan I'm formulating right now is to sell my car and buy a pre-owned (2009/2008) Subaru forester. The good thing is the cost of selling my car and getting the Subaru should break even so really won't cost us anything and I may be even to sell my car for more than the used car would cost. Then when my husband's car dies, I get a different, smaller car. I'm looking at the Subaru wrx hatchback, Honda fit or Mini cooper so far.
Shannon, I am counting on you having gotten me a little something, too .... a little red Ferrari .... what is it for you, the car emperess!
Mel, your weekend in TO will be a hot and muggy one, I am afraid. Brace yourself. Hey, if you get tired of relatives and the wedding brouhaha, hop in the car and come for a visit. I am only 65 miles west of TO and there is a nice rhubarb/peach/cranberry pie in the freezer. I will even hop over to the store for vanilla ice cream if that's your ticket.
I am taking a forced rest from exercise until I am done with the front yard. My right forearm is a bit swollen, inspite of nightly Ibuprofen and icing, so I think it's best to let sleeping dogs umm dumbbells lie until the time is right. I am hoping for a light swim today and yoga tomorrow.
We got a lovely rain this morning and now is spectacularly dingy, just the day I love. I am enjoying every minute since it won't last. The sun will be out in the afternoon and the high humidity will follow. Blech.
I was inspired by shannon and alena this morning to do some yoga for my creacky joints. IEWWW!!! I am very much NOT bendy! And I worked from home today & biked to the next village and back to run some errands.
Gloriously sunny weather out,
no time to do personals,
Icky weather here - cold, cloudy, showery, and very windy! If it's going to do this, I wish we'd get some decent rain out of it. As it is, we're still watering, and the wind means the people as well as the ground get soakd. Boo.
Been feeling puny since Sun when I stepped off a curb wrong and twisted my knee. I've been laying off exercising (heck, walking and stairs hurt!) which doesn't help my mood much. I'm hoping the wind dies down and I can go for a bike ride. I can deal with the showers, but 50 mph is bit too much wind.
Have fun in Toronto Mel!
Too bad about your windshield Shannon. I have a 2004 CRV and I love it. It's my second one. My SIL has a 2009 one, which is the same body style as yours and she's in heaven! My DH drives a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 4 cylinder truck, with a shell on the back (we use it for camping). He would love to have a newer 6 cylinder as we live in a hilly/mountainous area and it's really a wimp on the uphills! But like Nelie, we drive our cars til they die, usually of old age/high mileage.
Eh, I could stay here for hot and muggy! and rainy.
We decided to leave tonight, so I came home early to pack ( and get a mani an pedi on the way home). I'm so exhausted from another sleepless night that I'm skipping Xfit. Today's WOD involves split jerks which are a recipe for disaster if I'm too tired to pay attention to what I'm doing. Driving should be a blast!
Alena- We are touristing in TO for a a day and a half, then heading to St. Catharine's where my BIL lives for the wedding. I call it doughnutville. Luckily, I don't like 'em. The doughnuts, that is! I'm sure St. Cat will be just as hot and muggy. We'll probably do the tour of the neighborhoods where we used to live in TO and be shocked again at how built up North York has become. Last time we were there, our first house, a small 2 bedroom bungalow, was about one of three on the street that hadn't been torn down for an italianate McMansion. Interesting look.
Second class of CF today. We did front squats, shoulder press and jump rope. You should've seen my face when he said jump rope. I haven't jumped a rope since I was in elementary school.
We didn't do a timed WOD but we did do 3 rounds of 10 front squats, 25 single jump ropes, 10 shoulder presses. Oh and we did do a 200m run as part of the warm up. When we were practicing the shoulder presses before we did the workout, I was sweating like crazy and we weren't even using any weight.
Location: Lyin' in a puddle of sweat on the floor.

Sacha, he is gorgeous! Nicely done! (and any kid who wears his socks on his hands is my kind of kid, lol!)
to everyone else! We've had rainy and overcast here for a few days. I'm ready for the sun to come back! Classes at the gym are good, but it's been impossible so far for me to get there early enough to do any skill work or extra lifting, so once again I'll try to get out the door earlier today (didn't work yesterday, but I'll keep trying till I get used to the new schedule).
Yesterday we did a partner workout (2 person team), work one minute, rest one minute, of Wallballs, 20 mins as many reps as possible. ended up doing about 225 wallballs myself.
Stayed home yesterday and had a housecleaning catch-up marathon, gobs of laundry, cooking protein for the week, my sister stopped by and helped by cleaning out the fridge and also running an errand for me so I wouldn't have to leave. Feeling much better about having to be gone for work the next few days, after that.
