This film is worth taking a look at - its only 30 seconds long - but it shows what they do to get models to look amazing for adverts, etc. I might as well give up now!!

Well done Helen and Jen - mmmmmmm fondue mmmmmmmmm!

Hi Chris I envy you the cooler temperatures. Its still fairly mild here although they do forecast that it'll get colder soon. I'm quite looking forward to it - I'm still getting bitten by gnats when I'm walking on the Moor. The only thing I've found which helps is Vick Vapour Rub - but who wants to smell of Vick all the time?

I must get out and buy myself some boots - I have bought trainers off eBay but the only time I bought boots proved the point that there are some things its better to buy in a shop!

The bathroom is almost done - just the floor to re-lay and the plumber is paying to have that done by a proper flooring company this time. At least the shower works and we don't have to keep traipsing next door to use theirs!

Homersmummy - I've been slacking off the gym as well. I'd developed a very bad pain in my hip and lower back which seemed to be especially bad on the nights after I'd done aerobics or L/B weights - it was definitely the exercise causing it because it went away entirely when I went to stay with MIL - so I'm restricting exercise to my daily walks with the dogs plus swimming a couple of times each week.

Homersmummy - I just thought... perhaps you are the heaviest in the class now - but it might be that some of the other women started off heavier than you - its just that they're well on the way to getting to target. It could be that in a year's time you'll be sitting there all slim and sexy and a larger lady will walk in and feel the same as you do now.

What, Sarah Ann? You mean you do not spend 4 hours in make up and 'photoshop' yourself before you go out???!! You owe it to your public!!

Ooohhhhhh I've got Photoshop - can you do that kind of thing with it???? All I use it for is cropping and re-sizing.

DH wants us to have some professional pictures taken in December (I am SO not happy about that idea AT ALL) but perhaps I could do them myself and use Photoshop on 'em so I end up looking like Angelina Jolie - despite the fact that I'm blonde with blue eyes and a small mouth. (Although there are some people who will dispute that last statement!).

Morning .

Well done Amsterdam runners, pics please when possible! (if there are any)

I'm going through another "lack of motivation" episode. Slept in this morning and missed the gym and didn't really care. Bleah. Spinning tomorrow morning though so that should get me back into it.

I have been summoned to the Immigration Offices in Memphis, they have approved my permanent green card (the 10 year one) and I have to go for 1 more interview then it's all over. I will be a permanent resident and can keep on being one for 10 years, renewing said card, or apply for US citizenship after 3 years. We're going to try get to Memphis next week. I'm excited that it'll finally be bloody well over with. On another note, my UK passport runs out in June next year so I'm panicking already over getting that renewed.

I had a great time in Amsterdam, though due to my illness last month, couldn't run. I supported our resident athletes by eating and drinking alongside them!!! Mmmmmmm fondue!!!!

After my fortnight of drama it was great to have a girly weekend, and it felt very therapeutic. I didn't want to come home.

Now I am packing more stuff and dumping it at my friends place, wish me luck!

And the cut off is a generous looking 24 hours, unless the hills kill me before I get to that stage...

I'm feeling surprisingly rubbish today, I think I'll have an early night and try to run 2 miles in the morning before making a decision about whether I'm up to going to a running club I'm thinking of joining on Wednesday. I really want to go now, but would rather go once I'm able to move my legs properly...

Kylie, hope the moving is going OK!

Helen and other runners .... Congratulations on your marathon, really is excellent and I'm glad you all had a good time.

I've sent off my form today for the Playtex Moonwalk - I start my training tomorrow with a 1 mile walk. Just wondering if you think it's possible to train for the 26.2 miles in 7 months if you are very overweight as I am - my sister is doing it with me but she is only a stone or so overweight. Any advice would be gratefully accepted.

Ouch, my legs. I think they suffered more than normal because they were still recovering from Berlin. I've taken another day off running today in the hope it will make them a bit fresher for running club tomorrow.

Mum's gone back to Spain now, so tonight I'm going to go to the supermarket and stock up on all sorts of fruit and veg for the rest of the week. I want to have a really good 2 weeks of eating now I've got my races out of the way.
