  • No favours like wedding favours instead of sugared almonds!

I have replies! I have a student photographer! I am chuffed!

    (I'm only partly stressed really!!!)

Just got side tracked reading some of the 2001 threads - I wonder what happened to all those people. All thats left of the people posting at that time is Veggie, Chris and me.
I hate old threads. My excuse is umm I was five years younger. I cared much more what other people thought back then I think.

Smiling Sal was back just before you Sarah she went away on one of her weekends (caravan?) and didn't come back to post, I think she used a new username. Last I heard of TQ she was moving back north. Phoebe was back for a few posts early this year.
  • Morning all thanks for the welcome.

SarahAnn I heard about the oatmeal helping lower cholesterol. So I dug out the oatmeal this morning. Usually I will have a crumpet and banana or a mini bagel. I have 3 months to lower my tryglycerides or I will be on medicine for it.

Now I must get motivated and exercise more.
  • I just read the last comment on Frus blog Do Kyk and YP know your real plans for them?

None of this makes any sense without reading the comments on her blog btw...
  • OMG!!!!! I have only just read the comments myself!

    It's .co.uk!!!!!
  • just looked at the .com site - sent the link to DH (I like sending him 'inappropriate' stuff at work) - and he sent it straight back saying he'd been there before and its just a sort of search engine. I'm looking forward to asking him about his browsing habits when he gets home. Makes me wonder what he searched!

When did people start giving out sugared almonds and stuff at weddings? Last wedding I went to, last February??, all we had was a rubber turkey dinner and not enough to drink in a VERY cold hotel in Goole. Quite fitting really - they only stayed together for a couple of months afterwards. Turned out the bride was Up To No Good with her boss.

Veggie - I remember Smiling Sal, she and I were posting at the same time. I was wondering what happened to Delaney - and whether Ali / Posy (with the huge dinners) managed to keep all that weight off.

Clydegirl - porridge tastes a bit nicer if you put stuff in it. I found that half a teaspoon of cinnamon helps - or even a chopped up apple.
  • It's totally tradition - you get 5 sugared almonds, which represent health wealth happiness, prosperity and fertiltiy. Last wedding a guy at work went to, they gave out CDs, my granny went to one where they had personalised rock. We have gingerbreadmen!
  • On the radio last week they said that we aren't allowed to call them gingerbread men any more ... you have to call them gingerbread persons.

Sounds like a nice tradition - I like anyone who gives me food. Giving CDs to everyone sounds a bit extravagant unless, of course, you're only inviting a couple of people to the wedding.
  • They were home-burned CDs with their wedding dance songs on and personal tracks like that!

Yes they are gingerbread people since one is a gingerbread lady and the other is a man!

Hmmmmmmmm... is he big on going ape?
  • I won't be able to keep a straight face whilst swinging!
  • Dunno what all that was about but then I am so innocent!

Back to Sarah Ann's question - I click on reply before I thought to say - it was only a gas leak apparently. At first I thoguht it was an accident because there wasa motor bike near a police car - but it was a police motor bike ...DUH!
  • I'll stick with .co.uk for my swinging I think!

Nope - which is why I'm wondering what he searched.....!
  • I've been out for a quick run, packed my bag and got my train ticket so I think I'm all set for the weekend I just have to get through a day at work first
