Hello all! have figured it out. This was Day 11 on the crunches and would have been Day 11 on caffeine but I took another pause day because I wanted the extra kick before the gym. I think I have one more pause day left on caffeine, two on crunches. So tomorrow, Monday, I will start Day 12 on crunches and Day 11 again on caffeine. I am starting over on the journaling from today and as soon as I write it up today, it will be Day 1. Since I didn't eat much at all today and did a lot of exercise, it will be a glowing start! I could have continued on the journaling, but like I said, I wasn't paying it enough attention or giving it enough thought, so I want a clean start.
Tayja -- Wow, three pounds down!! That is fantastic! You must be psyched! Sure nice to have the scale calling your name when it has good news! But, good for you for putting in the work. Hurrah! No sign of jenny or cy yet?
freaky -- You too! Wow, another 2 lbs down! Awesome! Hope you figure out what day of your challenge you're on... The best pics are the ones you're a little drunk in....
curly -- Day 11 done! You know, I didn't realize that you were actually losing an entire pound a week!! That's quite enough. I had the impression you were totally stuck and the scale wasn't moving for weeks and weeks. You're doing fine then!
CBETA -- Wow, all this success!! 255 You rock!! I hope you're not coming down with something though. The lightheadedness is probably just from the excitement!!
JCT -- Hi there! Sorry I haven't been posting much since you joined. Friday nights often get hairy, especially after pay day! Congrats on getting through to Day 3!! As for the journaling I hear with the babysteps and not wanting to see what you've eaten, but I think it will only make you feel bad if you feel you have to scold yourself. Why don't you just say to yourself you are going to do it merely as a record and will not pass any judgment on yourself. Do it as a mere awareness-raising exercise with no eye to any assessment. That way you will have a great record when you actually are ready for cutting down or putting better foods into your diet. Your hula dancing sounds like it was fun! What's Power90?
tia -- You're doing so well on your challenges! Good for you and of course, if you feel you've taken on something that is not suited for you, then scrap it. I like people to keep trying and keep restarting, not just scrap a challenge because It's a little bit hard...I mean, that's the meaning of "challenge." But, if you realize you have bitten off way too more than you can chew (no pun intended ) then it only makes sense to scrap it and change it to fit your abilities, lifestyle, schedule etc. It's especially hard for new people and new challenges. That's why we often have people doing what we call "stealth challenges," where they start something up without telling anyone just to see if they think they can do it and then when they see they can they announce all of a sudden that they're on Day 3 or something! That's a stealth challenge, kind of like when an Olympic swimmer starts the race and swims underwater for a long time and no one can see what she's doing and then she comes up way far along... As for that scale, though, I hope it's not broken. If you didn't do anything new and it's moving around too much, that is a bit strange. I bet you have lost but your scale might be a bit off. Is it a digital one or manual, meaning no battery? I would invest in the best scale you can, because this is serious business! Either that or get a pair of skin calipers to measure how much fat you're losing.
chai -- Is 7 a.m. perhaps a bit too early for you? Maybe you should move it up a bit?
jolly -- How'd the dog show go? Sounds like fun! I just pushed one of the cats away from in front of the computer monitor. She always has to sit in front of it! You sure did a great job on walking past the shelves of porn! Good for you!
Sushi -- Does this mean you have finished your challenge?!?! Where are you on them? Searching is disabled? I can find your posts and figure it out for you if you like. Am I too late?
Apple -- You rock on the no beer....had another late night Friday...fell on the ice as I ran over rather tipsy to buy my friend cigarettes at another bar and only today realize I had torn a nice hole in my jeans. At the time all I knew is that I had bloodied my knee and elbow. Now, are you still jealous that I make such a fool of myself?!...course it was dark and I did win the attention of my coworker who dabbed away the blood with the warm wet towels that are served up here before meals! But, I am back on the straight and narrow! Now don't you go falling with that baby stroller! Have you ever considered getting one of those jog strollers? I think South Beach is a good sound diet. I don't know if it's restricted enough for you to lose on unless you're careful not to overeat. Since calories aren't counted you can still not lose on it if you eat too much. It is very healthy though and I think would be a good maintenance diet. You may just find though that cutting out sugar and white flour will be enough for you to lose. It depends on what your cravings tend to be. I know if I didn't go out for tons of beer every week I'd probably be thinner. Then again, I may just sit home all blue and stuffing my face with junk....
Karla -- How are you doing?
Fish -- Great going on Day 6! And yes, DVDs on the computer sound good, but I do hope you'll get to run, it's so much more fun! I thought I was a whole lot lighter because I was feeling good jogging, but this morning I weighed myself and I wasn't! No wonder though, with all the beer I indulged in the other night. And I may have been retaining a bit of water. It usually takes a good two days to get back to normal after one of my binges!
ees -- Are you still with us?! Don't come back and get us all excited to see you and then leave again!!
Zoe -- You too! Come back and stay posted!
Okay, others, where are you?!?! carla, where have you gone? Aren't you back on the wagon yet?!?! marble, have you just gotten so think you faded away on us? Phys, computer keeping you away again? Hope all is well!

totaly psyched its great !! now lets hope it just continues
nope no sign of jenny or cy, i know they have been lurking but no sign of them having signed up...
however i did recruit another new member from my other message boards i am on... my friend Kat has signed up... not sure if she will make an appearance in this thread or not... but i have pointed her in this direction
hey guys... i have a question... wasnt sure where on here i might post something like this, so i decided to post it here and ask my new friends
does anyone know anything about the 24in24 thing... supposidly 24oz of milk every 24 hours, is supposed to help with the weight loss thing...
we have these 24in24 milk commercials all the time on the tv... and i was thinking of making this my next challenge... but i dunno if it really contributes to WL like the commercial says or if they are just trying to get more people to buy milk
i could use more milk i dont get enough calcium, but since i am a light drinker as it is and already trying to get in the 60oz of water every day... getting in another 24 oz of liquids gunna be hard for me, i dont wanna commit to it if its really not gunna do anything to help... because its gunna be a hard one for me to get in that much more fluid ya know...

Good morning all. Yesterday was fun, but . . . OK. Two nights in a row with lack of sleep, my resolve was low, so yesterday counts as a pause day for "following my menu." Actually it felt more like a "come to a screeching halt" day than a pause day. Ah well. That's why we have them.
I actually did good planning for the morning and the show, it was when I got home that I caved. And am feeling the results today. So, I am on day 19 of no caffeinated sodas, and day 5 of following menus.
I thought of a hopefully cool idea for myself. I am going to make up some little papers with different "rewards" for myself - like new book, new CD, manicure, etc. I will put them in a container, and choose one whenever I have 4 weeks of loss in a row. I have other rewards set for reaching certain markers, but this will be just for moving in the right direction. I hope it helps me feel good about my progress.
Have a great day all. I will try to post more later.
I'm starting new challenges today or I should say RE-starting some old ones that I didn't quite finish.
I'm calling all of them level 3 challenges.
A- Water Challenge- Drink 64 oz of water daily
B- Nutrition Challenge- Follow my Flab to Firm eating plan
C- Exercise Challenge- Follow my Firm workout rotation
First of all, a big To everyone! And Second, I have to add my own WOOOHOOO! to the general celebratory din this morning, as the scale said 225.5 when I got on it for my morning weigh in!!! I'm about to move my ticker - it will say I've met my mini goal, but I still have 1/2 lb. to go, for the record. It seems (tentatively) that the dread 228-230 plateau may be behind me at last!!!!
Red - I don't think 7am is tooo early for me, I just think it was a bad idea to start that kind of challenge right before a weekend with two parties I was sort of obligated to go to. (speaking of which, I was out until 2 this morning and so have just woken up now @ 11:30). I will restart the challenge tomorrow and see how it goes.
