Just a short post tonight. I've just spent about an hour trying to figure out why my keyboard had gotten totally screwed up. Then I remembered the tech once telling me about system restore, and 20 minutes later I had tracked it down and gone back to an earlier, happier time in laptop world. The source of the problem remains a mystery, but I suspect Zen and Lily got bored while I was at work and messed with the machine...
I'm on Days 4 and 3 with my stealth challenges. If I get to Day 7 unscathed I'll tell all.
To my shock and terror, the early morning boot camp I was considering for the next month DID have space for me. I'll be very, very sorry on Monday when I crawl out of bed at 5 am on Monday. Don't quite know what I was thinking, But I've paid, so it's too late now. Three early mornings per week for the next 4 weeks.
Red, I know what you mean about all the quoting. Pages and pages of posts we've already read. But then all the extra scrolling is good exercise for my right hand... It's not like I'm using it to pet my autistic cats.
And it looks like I've got a sitter for the cats, so I can go on my March trip as planned. They'll be going on holiday to stay with an acquaintance who looked after them once before. What a relief! Especially since I'd probably feel compelled to sign up for a second month of boot camp if I were staying home all month. Narrow escape...
Day 5 complete on my running challenge. Tomorrow I need to do the 12.5 minutes in the morning, before work, or else no way I'll fit it in. Oh joy - running first thing on Monday morning, after a weekend of hiking...
Fridays, Saturday and Sunday...
so much awaited weekends. but oh so short.
This one was not an exception. As I lay on the couch at 2am typing this, I realized how much I've done since I went home from work Friday night.
1st stop - gym. 45min of cardio, and then 35 min of weights. Short drive home, shower, and then meeting with a friend. Then a trip to the store, quick piece of cheese and off to bed. I was home around 1am I think.
Saturday morning was hectic, as I had to a million of things. Out the door at 9:45, 45 min drive, stop at the grocery store, then gym. 35min of eliptical, 30 press pumps, 15min in the pool and 5min in the whirlpool. Aaaahhh it was awesome. Quick run to Sears. When I came out of the gym I still had my gym clothing on, and my hair was wet and uneven, plus flip flops. When I pulled near the Russian store, I reminded myself that perhaps there will be noone I know. Of course as I walk in I see my ex good friends... they make a puzzled look why I look like I've been as broom to sweep the floor. After the store I headed to help friend cook for her b-day. I did really well did not even bite any mayo... Then I took off to go pick up a shelf. What a disaster that was... it would not fit, finally after scratching myself, the car, and the shelf we got it in. Never again. When I returned to my b-day friend, everyone was there, and already ate some... Better for me I missed like an 2 hours of food.
I did really well, out of three salads with mayo and potatos, I had a 2.5 table spoons. Rest of salads had a little bit of mayo and sour cream, or oil but were purely veggie. Skipped the ribs, and all of the cakes...I was strong as never. None of my friends belived it, but one of them commented that I look better. No doubt I could see it myself. Oh and also I had a big piece of lightly salted salmon, but that's not bad....considering I right away drank 4 bottles of water so I did not feel so left out when everyone ate. Alcohol consumed was 1 shot of vodka spread over entire eve... hmm pathetic me, I used to do as much as guys did, but now I saw the bottle as it was made out of that sugar!
Stats
A: Food (3-2) -Day 17 (Feb. 3) Some itmes at T's house last night. Pause day

be careful with your meals tho 1 slice of cheese is not enough for dinner! if u eat way to little you can actually make your body hold onto weight.. make sure u are getting your 3 meals a day and your snacks..
CB -- had to laugh at your looking like you were out sweeping up the place or something similar. To h@ll with them, you gotta do what you gotta do! Great going!!
Hooray the thread is back! I am yet again off of the early morning challenge wagon - restart tomorrow. My knees are feeling much better (finally!!) so I'm thinking of adding an exercise challenge, but I might go stealth on that one...
I took my measurements for the first time last night - WOW was that ever depressing! I know I will get smaller, though - it's just a matter of staying on the wagon. The good news is that the scale keeps moving downward, slowly but surely. With all the spikes and plateaus, though, my FitDay daily weight graph looks like a rollercoaster nightmare. As of yesterday, I have unofficially surpassed my mini goal, but I'm going to wait until my next weekly weigh in date to call it officially met and set a new one.
It sounds like everyone is doing just great with their challenges and in general
Red, I agree with everyone else - you just can't let people's comments (or lack thereof) get you down. You are doing awesome, and what really matters is that you take pride in your accomplishments, not what other people say or don't say about them.
CBeta, Way to go at the party!!!
Tia, was it you that asked for low carb suggestions for the kids? I think it was - a favorite of mine is celery sticks with either cream cheese or an all natural nut-butter like peanut or almond. You can sweeten the cream cheese w/splenda and/or cinnamon or if the kids aren't doing low carb, too, then you could add some raisins to theirs and have yours without. I saw Rachael Ray once make low-carb french fries by blanching and then shallow frying fresh green beans. I'll stop there because I don't want to write food porn for those of us not on low carb, but if you want some other suggestions, feel free to PM me.
That's all for now, as I'm off to get some breakfast and clean my kitchen.
Friday and Saturday were a Success So i am now on day 17 today
anyway just wanted to check in and post that no time or energy to read and catch up i'll be back later maybe hopefully i think lol to let ya know how today goes
Friday was a pause day and yesterday we went snow shoeing! It was so much fun. l love snow! So I'm on day 13.
I've been eating alot but it turns out it was PMS. TOM has really snuck up on me the last couple of months. But here it is and I can deal with it. The worst is actually over.
Hope the weekend is going well for everyone! Great job with the self control, CBETA!!
hi guys, finally I am up. Today's chores include laundry, cleaning, trying on clothing that used to be to small - I am afraid I will miss out and never get a chance to wear them, an oil change for my car, cleaning of my car, and yes if I could cleaning it out...it is just such a mess.
I must not forget with just 4 days of the gym challenge left I must workout...
got to run but catch you later.
I will let you know the results of that clothing fitting.
p.s. yesterday scale said 250, but this morning it was back to 251 which means I gained nothing from that party... so glad, because I was extra worried.
Including today, Day 7 no wine completed, 3 pause days left; Day 5 no chocolate done, 2 pause days left. (These were stealth challenges until today - and already one third done on one of them!)
Tomorrow morning is the first mini-boot camp session. I'm convinced getting up at 5 am will burn double calories, so I should just melt away. Maybe it won't be as bad as I expect... (glass half full). I just hope I don't get my usual oh-my-god-gotta-get-up-so-early insomnia.
Went to Costco today and bought a light box. It will be interesting to see if it actually does have an effect on mood. Costco, of course, always has an effect on mood, as well as on the waistline, and used up a pause day with some scrumptious chocolate cookie samples.
Apple, unless the little costco debacle blows me up, I should be good for our pound-a-week side bet tomorrow. In fact, since I got back from my business trip I seem to be down 5 pounds, so I guess a lot of the upswing then was just from salt and fat and wine and sugar and.... Too bad you'll be suffering from post-game salt bloat in the morning! (I don't follow football, so I'm safe.)
CBETA, baby! Congrats on doing so well at the party, but... telling us all the goodies you DIDN'T eat still qualifies as a mild example of food porn. I was pretty hungry by the time I finished reading your post.
