Cool

HI all...
Ok... I am such a lame person. I didn't restart my exercise challenge... grr... someone took my motivation and threw it in the river.

I am doing great on my Study challenge though LOL Day 5 there...sheesh. I killed the water thing today... didn't drink but 1 liter. Soooo.... tomorrow I have to start both over again. What a bummer.

I wish I had more time to read all of you girls' threads... uh I feel like a slow learner. Anyway... here's my plan for tomorrow:
8:00- wake up... work out.
9:00- shower, ready Thomas, feed girls
9:30- leave for Dr appt.
11ish- leave Dr (hopefully) and head to WW... sign up!!!!
Afternoon- fold laundry, clean house, ect.
evening- start WW.....

Jolly- I think the rewards are a great system. I bought cute little jars at the $1 store last year... did a reward thing for my girls with marbles. They earned a marble for doing good stuff;chores, RAK, remembering manners, ect. It worked well.... hmmm :note to self: I ought to think about doing that again! LOL

Red- LOL no worries I understand. The Hula thing was way fun. Power90 is an old beachbody program... i am not sure what the new one is now. It's Tony (don't remember his last name) and they do cardio kickboxing and strength training. There is also an ab workout on it... KICKS My butt!!!!

Everyone else... I'll post more when I get the rest of the posts read LOL Hope everyone's day goes well and all challenges are easy for us to handle!

Thumbs up another day notched!!

Hello everyone. Getting toward evening here and I want to catch up for the day. Got stuff to do.

Finished the crunches and have been journaling, so those two are OK. Had to take another pause on the coffee as I again wanted a push before the gym. I almost didn't but then did. But, now, that mean's I've got to go without it for the next week or so or restart, which I don't want to. It's mainly on days I go to the gym in the afternoon, instead of morning and I just want to feel up, up, up, in order to get the most out of my time there. Otherwise I think I'd pack it up after just a few kilometers jogging.

Today I did 5K and then the crunches. Still haven't hit the weights again. I've soured on them anyhow, so it's a good break.

Another thing, it's not a challenge, but I just decided I have to really try to lose this fat once and for all and stop putting it off and putting it off. For three days now I have been cutting back on my food, not counting calories but definitely cutting back and, because I'm writing it down, I can see I am. Now, there have been no beer nights so I don't know how I'll handle them...probably just bolt for the office door whenever I feel the urge to round up the coworkers ...but for now, I'm OK...three days, big deal, eh?

But the journaling is helping, not because of writing the food down, I've done that lots of times before, but because of the emotional analysis and assessment. I am being really honest with myself about what I'm feeling around the "feeding times" and I realize it's all about things like loneliness, feeling hurt, feeling rejected, feeling anxious, and it just clicks me over to, like I've said, "eating mode." It's so natural now that I hadn't really been recognizing it for what it was. I was thinking more along the lines of boredom and reward or deprivation but it's not about food at all, it's really NOT! It's all this other junk and I'm just really trying to disassociate the two.

Now, along with that, I decided to set a 500 gram per week weight loss as my goal. That's just over a pound a week. It may be tough but I think I can do it it I stay consistent. I figure that means I have to have 500 calorie cut a day or add 500 calories of exercise a day, which again, shouldn't be that hard if I remain very attentive and aware and cut way back on the drink till you drop or drink till you stumble home nights out.

Ok, so, in my datebook, I marked the weights down for each week until I would get to my initial goal of 60 kg (I'm now about 73 kg). That constitutes about a 30-lb loss. Then I wrote in things along the way on the relevant dates and noted what weight I would be and imagined myself going to such and such event at that weight. It was fun and it's so fun to just take out my datebook and remind myself of this all the time. It's like a reward without having gotten there yet. Like a child looking at Dec. 25 on the calendar. BUT, the thing I keep focused on is simple --- 500 calories cut a day --- that's all, nothing fancy or complicated, just that.

So, wish me luck.

JCT -- Well, at least you're honest... Let's see you back on your challenges real soon, ok?! I love the idea for your girls with the marbles. And we sure could do that too for ourselves. Visual aids are great motivators. Maybe I should do that...each marble for a pint!

tia -- Good for you!!

jolly -- Oh, I wouldn't worry about your signature for every little fluctuation of your weight. You just lost, right? Surely, it'll come right off again! Ok, I hear you on your challenges. Almost finished with no caffeinated soda, going to start a no-soda challenge and are redoing the menu challenge. Got it! Good luck!

Karla -- So sorry to hear you're sick. Get well soon! But, wow, way to go on the challenges!!

curly -- Tell me, what kind of exercise are you doing on your circuit training. Do you do any cardio?

Sushi -- Yes, thanks for being understanding and you mustn't apologize. I think I am going to add a thread policy paragraph to the beginning rules. It's pretty easy to miss some of the policies unless you read all the time and sometimes it's very hard to tell around here just who is joking and who isn't. Of course, we're all adults (I think... ) so I try not to overdo the drill sergeant thing, but... no, really, the triggers are just too tough for a lot of us...and even though I know if you're strong or not too tempted by certain foods, you won't overindulge, a lot of us do, so I just don't want to do the kind of sadistic thing I see some people doing to themselves and do want to watch out for others. So, yes, any sort of ultra rich or ultra sweet, high calorie food is going to constitute "food porn." I don't know what followed the "ice" with the mango, but if it started with "c" then yes, it's a no-no! Why don''t you substitute some nonfood smilie for a food like that if you're allowing such on your diet program. If you're not allowing it or hoping to cut it out, then seeing less of that smilie will help you stick with it. Or, you could write things done on your own, give yourself an overall rating for your food each day and tell us that, something that will keep you accountable. Just an idea...
But, really, Sushi, thanks for being so understanding. I hope others will be as much a team player as you. I will take you out for sushi when you come to Tokyo, ok?

lexus -- Hello there! Glad to have you with us and hope to hear lots more from you. It sounds like a good challenge you've taken on. I assume those are two separate challenges, no? Are you assigning levels to them or going for broke (meaning straight through..I'm going to give that a name next time...) If you don't know what I'm talking about, go back and read the first post of this thread that explains things. We get so long so quickly that I think a lot of people just start up in the midst of things. Well, good luck!

Fish -- You're doing great! How did you get to Day 9 already?! Why does time fly for other people and not my challenge?! I hear you on the limiting calories versus merely counting them.....LOL. Here too, and this is what I'm trying to do now, though it's not a 21-day challenge. That will come next, when I have more courage. Glad to hear you're about the same with milk as me.

marble -- Wow, sounds great with the clothes fitting! God, that must be a great, great feeling. I am soooo looking forward to it. I don't like the measure or scale either but I think it's the only way to go. The clothes thing is pretty slow and with all the stretchy fabrics or me stretching things out each time I try them on, I can gain a lot before I realize I'm gaining again. But, if you're vigilant it's a much better way I think than the scale. The measuring is depressing.

Shad -- Well, I haven't given the menu for a week too much thought but I think since I basically eat the same thing all the time anyhow more or less except when I start throwing in junk that I'll just try to get rid of the junk and focus on the meal itself. It may work.

chai -- So, have you gotten through Day 2 of the up-early challenge. I think it's fair to allow dozing if you're out of bed. I do that all day long! Glad to hear the knees are better. Was it you out there on the ice?

Steady -- Hello! Welcome to our thread. Your son is going to love your challenge! Have you planned for inclement weather? And what level are you making this? 1, 2, or 3 pause days, or none?

carla -- My, my, where have you been?!?! I think the party is over too!! You decadent woman, you! Sloth and food porn, wine and bursting out of your clothes!!?! Wow, when you let it rip, you let it rip!! No, just kidding, like marb said, you've put the brakes on and that's a good thing...seeing as you were just about to hit the wall anyhow! "No challenge identified yet"...does that mean that you just can't tell what is a challenge and what isn't, since your life has now done a total turnaround and you're just the picture of healthful eating and acting something like a triathlete in training? No?

Yes, yes, lots of new faces around here and some old. I wonder which pain of mine you heard? There is so much of it. Probably the sobbing when the bar struck up Auld Lang Syne for the night. Do you know here that is the song played at closing time? So you hear it all the time...well, I do. And, no, light beer is never sold in bars, you can get the stuff in shops, but I don't know who would do that??! What kind of junk in the convenience store do I buy??....porn, incredible smut, the worst kind, you name it, I indulge in it...but I've been good for three days now!! Can you believe it?!?! Okay, Feb. 1 is tomorrow....I'm expecting good things from you, lofty and challenging things.

Hey Girl, Don't be so hard on yourself. You didn't build your bad habits overnight. It takes time. Everybody has a bad day and there is always tomorrow. Think positive and say positive things to yourself or nobody else will. As for the schedule, don't expect things to work out just the way you have scheduled it. That way, if it doesn't work out you won't be disappointed. I use to have little papers all over the house with my little schedules that I tryed to put myself on until I realized, looking back at them, how unrealistic they were. I'm not a robot. And I don't live in a perfect orderly world. Look at the bright side of things, you got a liter of water, more than none. I'm already sure you got plenty of exercise taking care of you children. And you've made the biggest step of all, you a realizing what it is that you need to do and building the determination LITTLE BY LITTLE to do it. Remember, Babysteps Girl. Take care of yourself and be your own best friend. You wouldn't talk to your best friend that way would you? Of course not!! LOL Take care and be nice to yourself.

good morning everyone !

I dont think I was on here yesturday... if I was it was early, I know I didnt update last night...

Day 12 (yesturday) Complete !!

I weighed myself again this morning just because I wanted to see if there was a difference between when I weighed the other NIGHT fully dressed and in the MORNING nakid... it showed a 2 pound difference, so that makes 5 pounds gone rather then 3... but due to my own cautiousness and thoughts on possible scale fluctuation and just not wanting to jinx myself, i am going to stick with the 3 pounds, from my original weigh in the other day, i didnt do the weigh in to see if i had lost anymore, just to see if there was a possible fluctuation between night time with clothing and morning nakid (which i hear is the better way to do it)

lunches at school still suck... we really need better variety there... but i think just the fact i am trying to get in breakfast every day is a help, becuase it helps jump start my metabolisim... i'm one of those people that used to only eat one or two big fatening food porn bad for you meals a day (generaly it was just one at dinner time and i'd gorge myself on two large helpings which probably equaled out when messured to more like 4 servings) and then munch tons of unhealthy junk foody snacks til bedtime... so i think the fact i am getting breakfast lately, and limited my trips to the vending machine, and trying to be more concious at dinner, its really helping...

i actualy have breakfast in the oven right now but its taking FOREVER to be done, i am hoping its finished before i have to leave or i am just gunna have to turn it off and throw it in the trash uncooked... the package said i thought 17-20 minutes at 300* well i got it set at 300 had it preheated and its been a half hour and still not cooked...

anyway I must run... I will try to get back on here later and write down what some of my upcoming challenges may be i had several ideas but at the moment they seem to have left my mind...

hope everyone has a great wonderful and successful day !!

Hi all. Just a quick, rather droopy, post before I am off to work. I didn't make it to the gym this morning. I had a bad Acid Reflux episode last night, so am having some breathing difficulties this morning as well as being tired. And I know it is all my fault for the bad food choices.

But . . . today is another day. Another chance to make healthy choices. I finish my no caffeinated soda challenge today, so tomorrow start the no soda. That is a good thing. Will start the new challenge for following menus Saturday with my new menus that include all meals, and snack options which are ok. Hopefully this will limit my room to "cheat." (the things we do to feed the beast!) I may even REALLY push myself, and add a no chocolate except sugar free hot cocoa and sugar free fudgicles challenge. We will see.

Anyway - off to work. My gym bag is packed for after work. Have a great day all.

This is just a quick note as I'm off to school! Yet again, I'll be restarting my up early challenge in the morning. I was at school until after midnight last night and 7AM just came waay too early for me today. This is a really tough challenge, but I'm going to stick with it, darn it!

When I get a chance this afternoon, I'll be moving my ticker back - those 1.5 lbs I was hoping were water weight are still there this morning, so it's back up to the old 227 for me. That's still below my lowest plateau weight, though, so I'm hoping I'm past the plateau...fingers crossed, anyway!

Red - no it wasn't me on the ice, it was me with the floor hockey and the exercise bike.

Keep on Truckin!

Red:
There are 12 hydraulic machines in the circuit. Each machine is designed to work opposing muscle groups. Half work the upper body (for example, one machine works biceps and triceps, one will work chest and back). The other 6 machines work the lower body, example: quadriceps and hamstrings. Completing a lap around the circuit works out every major muscle group in the body.

In between every two hydraulic stations rests either a Reebok Step or an Aerobic Platform. The person working out of the circuit then gets a cardiovascular workout by doing a step routine or platform aerobic routine.

p.s. when ya weigh 235 lbs and u walk 6 miles in under 90 minutes thats cardio!!!!!!!

day 13 done!

Still no challenges underway - probably starting tomorrow. I thought I was two days into a stealth challenge, but went out for coffee and food porn, and that was the end of that - but just for tonight. Ah, yes, "eat, drink and be excessive, for tomorrow you diet..."

Jolly, am i right in reading that you've completed your no-caff challenge today?
!!!!! !!!!!

Curly, do you do 3 circuits to make up the 90 minutes, or is that one round? And by the way, congrats on all the weight you've lost, just bopping along quietly losing one pound a week.

Tayja, way to go on the 5 (3?) pounds gone! I think I read something about the link between dairy and weight loss - could it be because the protein in it gives you a feeling of fullness? Of course I had no trouble buying in as I like cheese and milk and yoghurt anyway. A day without a nice decaf skim milk capp or two is just not a good day in my world. I try to keep a lid on the cheese, partly because of the fat content, even more because of the carbs that go with.

Red, is that a hint of blue creeping onto your red balloon? Think positive! 500 calories cut per day? That would be one pint and one food porn item, I believe. How about a side bet? You cut the aforementioned, and I'll resist at least one food porn/drink porn impulse per day. Whattya say, huh? For a month starting tomorrow? Think of the money we'll save! I'm also on board for the 500 gram (in my case 1 lb) weekly target.

Karla, get well soon.

Ees, good to see you back, you sneaky little stealth challenger you! Way to go, 6 days down already.

Tia, you seem to have settled in here pretty nicely. Great advice to JCT. And your baby is absolutely delicious, just makes me want to smile and chuckle and gurgle myself!

JCT, don't despair. If you don't try, you can't succeed, and starting over isn't failing. It's just moving from a practice run to the real thing. Lordy, if we all let a restarted challenge get us down, this would be a thin and tear-stained thread. Besides, Red beats us when we whine. (It's true! I still have the scars! A LOT of scars! ) And by the way, you can always count unsweetened, caffeine-free drinks other than water as part of your water total. Not everyone likes that much water, especially in winter. (I'd suggest the old glass-half-full bit, but if it's a glass of water, that might not exactly cheer you up. )

Ciao, bellas, see y'all tomorrow.

Exclamation Ok...

I PROMISE I will catch up on posts tonight after the kids get to bed... LOL!

I jsut had to pop in and tell you all about my progress.!

Today i signed up for WW Flex points... anyone on this?? So I went in and got weighed... and I was SHOCKED!!!! I originally thought I was about 226... and she weighed me... with sweats on even... and I was 213!!!!! YAY!!!!!! I am so stoked! I really want to get this bagage off! So I set a mini goal to lose 10 lbs by Thomas' first bday. I know I can do it if I keep up with my points and challenges!

So I started my exercise and water challenges this AM before i went to sign up... which made me feel even better about the weight change! But I sort of tweeked my exercise goal... instead of being limited to only the Power90... I am going to jsut make sure I get 45 mins of workout a day. I did that because I am really enjoying this OnDemand workout stuff... it gives me convienence and variaty each day. Today i did yoga and then abs... whooo! The water is still the same... 2lt / day. Ok... Gotta get the kids to bed.. I'll be back to post comments soon!!!! LOL

:wondering why my signature isn't showing on my veiw????:
