:welcome3: Cassie...Look forward to getting to know you. Your children are beautiful!

Paula... You have got four cutie pies to keep you busy! My husband has an identical twin. My mother in law always said they kept her on her toes. Hope you got a good night of sleep lastnight.

Garnet...Welcome back!! I was beginning to wonder if you had gone to your friends house for a visit. Good for you on your workout at the gym. :woops: :belly:

Lois....Your son is such a cutie! Maybe my husband will help me load pics of my 7 brown eye beauties, grandchildren that is. Lois, think of your weight gain as muscle. I mean you are working out, so next week you should have a nice loss. :D

Barb...I'm doing Weight Watcher. I started on Jan 3rd and have loss 8 pounds so far.

Well, I have had a good weekend, stayed within my points and look forward to doing my workout in the morning. I can't believe I just said that! Really, I feel so much better after a workout. Belly dancing anyone?:belly:

Garnet...Love your family picture!! I can't believe that you could almost pass for my sister, we look so much alike. I have short hair like you, wear glasses and I'm short and round. LOL I'll have to find a picture of me and load it up.

:dust:

Good morning, ladies! I am so glad that some of you got pics up! We all have some great looking families, huh?

I am just starting this day, and I have to tell you ladies that I think I am addicted to my scale. I just got a new one, and I can't stay off the darn thing! How often do you ladies weigh? I thought that I could weigh everyday, but...well....I am weighing SEVERAL times a day.:o And the numbers were UP and DOWN all weekend, and FINALLY they were back down to 287 this morning upon waking. Sheesh! I need to step away from the scale!

Robsia 02-13-2006 09:07 AM

Oh I completely KWYM!

I used to be a once (or twice) a week weigher on my old analogue scales, glibly telling those ladies who moaned abut their weight fluctuating during the week that they should only weigh once a week.

Then . . . I got my new digital scales that weigh to 0.1 of a pound! Every single day I'm on the things. For the last two weeks, although I have managed an overall loss I have gone through agonies every day of watching it go up, down, staying still, will it be down today, sort of thing.

I told myself firmly yesterday that I would only weighton Sundays from now on. But, guess, what I was back on again this morning. And I'm glad I did because I lost 0.9 since yesterday!

I think the high you get when it has gone down is worth the agony of disappointment when it hasn't. We're like rats who keep on pressing the button for the occasional pellet.

I do occasionlly weigh in the evning but I know damn well that it will be higher than the morning weight so I don't take any notice of those.

But, as I keep telling myself, so long as your weight is going down week to week, the fluctuations during the week don't matter.

Good Morning from snowy Nova Scotia. Seems like the worst is over once again and I don't think we got too much actual snow, although I haven't heard the official word yet. As usual, the wind is the real culprit. The schools are closed so it wasn't just a light sprinkle.

Great pictures, Paula. You mentioned the twins before, but who are the other two kids?

Oh, Cheryl, I hope someday I will get to the place where I look forward to exercising. Keep up the great attitude, it is really inspiring.

Wow, Barb, tell your friend there's room in her life for everything. I play a lot of solitaire card games and mahjong on the computer and watch TV and visit with all my great on-line buddies.

Cassie . . . For some reason, most of us are scale-addicted. I think it's tied up with the need for instant gratification or justification of some sort, but it usually backfires and those little ups and downs can be very depressing. Try to weigh only once a week. And keep reminding yourself that you are sooooo much more than just a number.

This is definitely one place where you and I disagree, Robsia. I cannot handle the daily ups and downs as well as you do. But, heh, that's what keeps life interesting. Wouldn't it be boring if we all thought exactly the same way.

Have a great day, gang. See you soon. :carrot:

Cassie501107 02-13-2006 09:22 AM

Whew! I knew others would have the problem I do, LOL! I am going to do my BEST to only weigh on Fridays....uh huh.:D

Cassie501107 02-13-2006 09:24 AM

Oh, and I can't handle the "ups" well either, which is why I need to weigh only once a week. I think it would be much better for me. It ust baffles me how I can weigh one thing and then 2 hours later weigh 2 more pounds. Hmph.

ladylane06 02-13-2006 09:56 AM

Good Morning...

I will admit I hop on the scale every morning, but my official weigh in day has always been Sunday. I too try to ignore the fluctuations through the week in hopes that on weigh in day the number will be down overall.

Last week I forgot I changed my ticker in the week, so I actually started last week at 253.5, so that gain I had was just one of those fluctuation so to speak. :D This morning I hopped on the scale and although it's not my official day, I am down to 251 which is -2.5 since last Sunday... so I'm taking that! :carrot:

I will check back later... hope everyone has a great day! :)

Hi!

Hi! I know exactly what you'll mean about the scales! I got a new set of WW scales!:goodscale (Although I am not doing WW) But they are the digital kind and I am up and down all week!

Garnetfariy- I checked out Getfitfusion.com! :tread: I like how they give the exercise to do each day!:ebike:

Meowee-The those are my boys! Dalton is 8 and Michael is 6! I probably haven't said much about them cause they are usually at school or with my Aunt Mom! They are always busy! Baseball season is coming up! Dalton will want to stay at the baseball field from sun up to sun down!:cheer: He make's All-Stars every year!:cheer: He is pretty good if I do say so myself! But If I could put my mind on something like he does baseball, I might be good at it too!

I will check back in later I have to go log my food now! urrgh! I do not like having to keep up with every bite I put in my mouth!:grouphug:

Cassie501107 02-13-2006 10:55 AM

Yeah, so I weighed myself, LOL! But I am not sad about it, because I was down to 285! That's -2 lbs for me, too! Go us, huh?! Now I think I am going to stop until Friday (my WI day) because I don't want to ruin this good feeling, lol.

I get tired to keeping track of everything that goes into my mouth, too. I can't even figure out Fit Day, I hate having to add all these foods, so I just found a food diary template on MS works, and it calculates calories and fat petcentage for me....so far, it's worked fine!

mama4dmkd 02-13-2006 12:52 PM

Tae Bo?

Whew! I just got my Tae Bo tapes I won on ebay! :drill: I lasted 20 minutes with the instrutional(sp?) video! :stress: Is that normal? I can't even make it thru the slow paced video! Boo Hoo! I am soooo depressed!

Cassie501107 02-13-2006 01:13 PM

Oh, Tae Bo is SO hard! I haven't done it in years, but it was killer! I think it's normal to not be able to keep up with the whole thing the first day...I had a great time with when I did it, LOL!

ladylane06 02-13-2006 06:13 PM

Paula, you must be so proud of your son... he is a real cutie too... when he gets older the girls are going to be on him! My oldest son is 16 and I swear the phone just rings off the hook some days arghhh! ! ! I've gotten used to using FitDay daily and I have to say that

I felt the same way about logging food in the past, which is why I never did it... I thought it was just too tedious. Now it has become a part of my approach to losing weight this time.

Don't feel bad about the TaeBo... the instructional vid is a workout in itself. I recall working up a pretty good sweat doing it myself. I have several TaeBo tapes but I have yet to try them again... but I have thought about it.

Cassie, congrats on the weight loss! :cheer: That's 2 lbs. closer to goal. It took me almost a week to get used to FitDay and to get my favorite foods logged...now I find it easy to log in what I eat. I think what keeps me using it, is the charts, graphs and projections... there is a huge motivating factor in getting those charts and projections to move. It's like a game for me... silly huh? :dizzy:

mama4dmkd 02-13-2006 06:26 PM

Just making sure you are ok!

ladylane- I just saw that there was a 86 car pile up in Michigan! I came right over to make sure you and your family were ok!

ladylane06 02-13-2006 06:41 PM

Aww, thanks Paula... We are all fine. That was very thoughtful. I turned the news on late so I guess I missed that story... and there has not been any breaking news reported. I will have to check the net or catch the news later to see exacty where the accident was.
