Happy Hump day!

Hey girls!

Not much new with me. I stayed on target with everything today. Which I feel good about, hopefully it will reflect on the scales! But I sure am having a snack attack now! I thought the best way to keep my hands busy is to come check in with you all. Isn't it funny how you can be good day in and day out but don't get results everyday?! Is anyone feeling like this is such a slow process? I know it's only been a month and a half but everyday is a challenge (somedays a challenge is an understatement!) and the rewards are small (scalewise) and so very slow. It feels like I'm a worm trying to make it up a huge mountain and only getting as far as inch a day. I know every inch is an inch closer to goal, but still it's just an inch. And I probably already know what you all will respond with too, "we didn't get this size overnight, and won't lose it overnight", am I right?! hahaha I totally understand that, but sometimes my patience get the best of me. Anyways, enough with that!....Sheesh I miss the Biggest Loser! LOL

Cheryl, way to go with the loss! I'm so happy for you! :) Your dessert sounds delicious, I wish I were at your house tonight!

Linda, good for you losing another 2lbs! Feels great to feed off of your excitement! Keep it coming!

Liz, welcome to the gang! You've hit a great place with great, supportive and lovely gals. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Robsia, it's great to see you're moving again! Yayyy! I hear ya on the boobs popping around! I don't have DD but I do have a couple of D's! haha If only there was a sports bra decent enough! I have one, but it fails desperately!

Paula, so sweet of your aunt to bring you bread. I was just thinking this week that I don't miss anything that I used to eat. Then mom said she made one of her cook dinners (roast chicken, all veggies, biscuits, gravy, etc.), was I ever wrong!! I think it's kinda funny we think we can get through this till we're reminded of the homemade heavens our families are accustomed to. Oh well, outta sight, outta mind. If only that were true!

Lois, it's been blizzard like here today. So I feel ya on the drearyness, nothing gets ya less in the mood to do anything like a cold, snowy day. Lets hope for sunshine tomorrow! Get sweatin' girl with your 2mile excercise!

I hope you all are having a great night!
See ya loser ladies!

~Tina

:beach: Good Morning, gang . . . having another warm, sunny morning . . . almost 50. But this too will pass. The jet stream will, no doubt, bring us some of your cold stuff soon.

Almost wish I could handle the scale changes and weigh more often . . . but I really can't. Absolutely have to stick to no more than once a week and pray to see a good result. Almost the same as with exercise . . . I don't think I'll ever look forward to it. I know, I know, we should never say never. It really doesn't take longer to lose than to gain but it certainly does seem that way, doesn't it? Wow . . . a new car for valentine's day. And to think that most people have to make do with flowers or candy . . . enjoy :val2:

Congratulations to everyone reporting a scale victory and congratulations, too, to everyone else who simply doesn't know how much you've lost, yet.

Have a great day. :carrot:

Lost another 0.2 this morning!

Also I walked a mile into town, walked round the shops for half an hour and a miles back, whcih I reckon was about 3 miles in total - yay me!

My feet hurt now though - I'm not used to walking. And although it was nice and sunny on the way and quite warm for the time of year, the wind picked up when it was time to come back and it felt very chilly. Oh well. At least now I know it's not too bad a walk. Since we moved here in May I've never actually walked into town before, I've always gone in the car.

Certainly when the weather warms up I'll be doing it a lot more.

Stacye - wow - congrats on the car!! Fab dh!

mama4 - sorry, I should have congratulated you on the 2 lb loss - my bad! Congrats anyway!!

Cheryl - congrats on the 3 lb - that's fantastic!!

Weather!

We are having the weirdest weather, one day it is so cold the wind cuts thru you and the next day it is 75 degrees! No wonder Katrina hit us in MS! Mother nature can't make up her mind! I wish it would stay like it is today!

Ok enough of my fussing! I hope everyone has a wonderful day! :grouphug:

Happy Thursday!

Good morning ladies!

Well after my going on lastnight about an inch worm making it up a huge mountain, I stepped on the scales this morning and it actually read 247! Yayyy! That's another 2 inches (lbs.) towards my ultimate goal! I feel so motivated again now! I know it will probably teeter before I hit the next new lowest number. Seems like it always does that. I hit a number and it goes up and then back, then up then back. But that's okay, the point is today I lost another 2lbs. and I feel so good! This mountain is coming down an inch to a time baby!!

DragonTush, hope you and your family start getting on the mend. I know when you're sick and taking care of sick ppl the last thing you want to do is wonder how many calories you've consumed! Take care!

Emily, unofficially congrats on the 2lbs! LOL And when you make official, congrats again! Awesome to see someone looking forward to the treadmill, I still have to get on yet this morning. I'll race ya! LOL

Stayce, wow, if you get a new car for Valentines, what do you get for your birthday or your anniversary! hahaha I'll have to tell my hubs to take some notes!

Linda, it's a cold -30 here today. Looking out the window is a total deceit, because the sun is shining! You think it's nice, but when you open the door...BBRrrrrrr! My little one is layered like an onion today! LOL

Robsia, I'm totally impressed with your walk! Good for you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I know when I have walked somewhere in the past I totally dreaded the turning around part and going back.

Well, I guess I should be off to the treadmill before it's time to pick up my girl. Have a great day ladies, and I'll probably check back in later!

~Tina

Strength training?

I forgot to ask you'll something! Everything I have ever read said that you are suppose to skip days in between strength training, I don't like to do that!
Can I work my upper body one day and lower the next? So I can feel like I am still getting strong everyday!

ladylane06 02-16-2006 03:23 PM

Hey Ladies,

DragonTush
, Gosh I hope you guys are better soon, but on the brighter side, you still had a weight loss, congrats :carrot:

Stacye, Wow... what a wonderful gift! Did you expect it, or was it a total surprise? Lucky You!

Tina, see... all the fretting and this morning you hit a new low... patients girl, patients. I must admit though, I hate those ups and downs too but as long as the big picture is showing the numbers are on a downward trend, I'll take comfort in that. :) Keep up the good work girl... it's paying off! :cheer:

Linda, enjoy that weather while it lasts! I thought I'd never look forward to exercise either, but lately I do. What would be great is if losing weight was as effortless as gaining it! Oh well, we can dream, can't we! :D

Robsia, you are doing so good! WTG on that walk to town. I'm waiting for the weather to break and I will begin to get outside for some walking.

Paula, I think the weather is weird everywhere this season. :dizzy:

My day is going ok. I got a really good workout in last night, but yesterday I had another one of those days where I didn't get in enough calories (under 1000), but the day before I ate close to my limit, :dizzy: ...not a usual day but the calories added up. I have also been wondering how beneficial it is to workout six days a week, as opposed to 4 - 5 ... I mean other then the obvious, does the metabolic rate respond better to fewer days or if it tends to get used to the daily workouts and not respond as well. What do you think?

Chat with you later.

:grouphug:

Has anyone heard from Garnetfairy lately?

LadyLai 02-16-2006 05:43 PM

Hey girls!

I just got my BL dvd in the mail today! One week ahead of schedule. I just finished previewing it, boy I am in for it tonight! I can't wait! Seeing the sweat those guys were putting out has really got me ready and rearing to go! I'll come back later tonight to let you in on how it went for me.

Paula,
I too have heard that your suppose to alternate strength training and cardio. But as long as you don't over do it, I can't see the harm. Maybe a litte cardio, mixed with strength training everyday would be good.

Lois, you really got a great question. And I wonder if the recommended 4-5 days a week for exercise is for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and not for weight loss. Just like calories, eat less to lose and eat a little more to maintain. Hmmmm...something to think about!

I'm off to make dinner, gonna try to make chicken tacos. Basically its going to be chicken w/ low sodium taco seasoning, lettuce, tomato, onion, fat-free sour cream, fat-free cheese slice and a soft wrap. Haven't tried it before, we'll see if it satifies the taco craving.

Later all!

~Tina

LadyLai 02-16-2006 10:30 PM

Wow! Girls, I am not a coordinated person in the least!! LOL I got a few moves mixed up and couldn't keep up with the jumping jacks and lunges all the way through. But I sure sweated and my muscles in my legs are sure tender! I think with time it will get better, I'm still excited about it and willing to do it. woo HOOOOooo!

jelynn 02-16-2006 11:48 PM

Lois- I think it's good to mix up the calories- eat low one day, mid range, high then low again. Seems like your body responds better to losing that way. I think it's the same with exercise- mix it up after awhile so you aren't doing the same thing. I'm not sure sure about your metabolism though- I would think that the extra day would increase it. ??

Tina- so tell me how you got the dvd?? How did you order it, I'm interested! Sounds like a good workout and I'm sure you'll get the moves down in no time!

Paula- I think you are fine with alternating between lower and upper body. The whole point is to rest the worked muscles- so you are basically doing that if you are only doing one body group every other day.

I had a good 30 minutes on the treadmill. I am doing just over 2 miles in 30 minutes! Running is getting easier and I think it's really helped with the fat-burning. I snuck a peak at the scale again this morning and it was down again!! I thought maybe we needed new batteries, lol. I weighed my kids and it seemed right on. I had dh get on tonight and tell me what he thought. He said, "Seems high to me." ROFL!! Guess someone has been eating too many Valentine's treats. So I'm totally excited for my official weigh-in on Monday and motivated to have a great weekend with not a ton of extras.

Good night, everyone!
