HI! Chicks!

This is just a quick check in to see how all my buddies are doing! Not alot going on here!
We have an early appointment for Dennie in the morning (this is not for Shriners)!
I just can't stand the Dr. office! Since she was born we have spent more time in the doctors office than out of it! But, they don't tell us a whole lot.

This appointment is with the GI doctors is to see if they are going to have to put in a feeding tube in her and to do a swallow test on her to see if they can tell why she won't eat!! It is so weird that Everything I can't eat is what she needs to eat! Her feeding specitist said she needs high calories, high fat, and anything that will fatten her up! But she will not eat! She chokes on any solid food I try to feed her! They have her on Pedia Sure. She is suppose to eat 4-8oz bottles a day and we do gooood to get her to eat 2!

The Shriner's hospital is to check for Scoliosis, Hip disorders, Orthopaedic problems resulting from her cerebral palsy.

I know you'll are tired of hearing me fuss! I just wanted to let you know what was going on in case I fell of the wagon! Cause usually when I fall, I fall hard!

I am sooo glad I found all of you. You'll give me hope to think that I can lose weight! :grouphug: TO ALL! and thank you for being there for me!

Happy Friday Ladies!!
Well, it's me again ... the MIA girlie! We've had a stomach bug going around so needless to say I haven't been on line much - just wanted to say HELLO and a BIG :carrot: CONGRATS to everyone on their losses! I've lots of reading to catch up on and then I'll be back later today to do some personals.

Hope you're all having a fantastic Friday ... it's absolutely gorgeous here in Nashville today - it's 60 degrees and there's not a cloud in the sky! I love winter but this weather is really making me have Spring Fever!

TTFN!

Good afternoon....

TGIF

Paula, I hope things went well at the Drs. office. I do understand. When my 15 yr. old was born he had a heart defect that did not correct itself and had to have open heart surgury when he was 5... and when my little one was born we had to do alot of appts. and tests as well. He has Down Syndrome. It was diagnosed before he was born. He is otherwise healthy. We were fortunate in that he was not born with any of the known complications associated with DS, but I swear they did every test to be sure.

Never feel like you are fussing or complaining... your little ones are precious, and I know you worry... I would! It helps to have others to talk to about these things. As mentioned... we are here initially for weight loss support, but as time goes by, we find support in other areas of our lives as well. Let us know how things go.

Stacye, good to see you back... hope everyone is on the mend. Oh, gosh I would love those temps... spring is coming and I can't wait! :carrot:

I am having a pretty good day. The sun is :sunny: shining beautifully :sunny: but it's cold, below freezing... brrrrrr. .. and it was near 50 yesterday :dizzy:

I got my workout in today... and last night I managed another workout, so that was another 3 miles for yesterday. This morning when I hopped on the scale it showed -1 lb. :carrot: I'll take it, especially after 3 days of no movement.:goodscale: I've been using hand weights during my workouts and I can feel the muscle building in my upper arms, whoohoo! :workout:

I'll check back later!

:grouphug:

Happy Friday!

Good afternoon girls! It's a sunny day here too, just in time for the weekend. Makes me have the shopping fever! LOL Instead of feeling cold and in hibernating mode. I managed to drop another 1/2lb. this morning, making it a firm -25!! Yayy!

Barb, how's that stepper treatn' ya today?

Lois, you know it's funny, gaining muscle didn't even enter my thoughts till you said it. I thought I was having another slow time. I do feel a difference in my muscles. Especially my arms (too much fat on my legs to feel the muscles flexed..LOL) I also have started walking on the mill weights in my hands this week. So maybe that's why I haven't dropped much. Perhaps I've dropped inches instead....gee I wished I measured myself b4 I started this! A little NSV this morning, my hubby grabbed my waist and said "wow", I think those crunches are helping already! Congrats on the pounder this morning!! Did you notice on your ticker that you are not a 100lb loser anymore, you're a 99'er!! YAYYYYY!

Cassie,
good luck with your weigh in!

Paula, life is more about than just "dieting". In fact all of us here are more than just talking about "dieting". Feel free to come in and share. We're anxious to know things are okay for your little one. Children are the jewels of our lives!

Stayce, uUUuggghhh! I think I'd rather give birth again than deal with the stomach flu! I absolutely can't stand the stomach flu, it just knocks me totally out! Glad to hear you and yours are on the mend. And I'm really glad that, that kind of virus can't be emailed!! hahaha

Have an awesome day ladies! Lots of love going out to you!

~Tina

It's even warming up again in Nova Scotia . . . All those pretty sparkles are melting off the tree branches again. I know it isn't Spring here, yet (we usually have one bad storm at the beginning of April and it isn't even March) but I keep hoping.

Mama we are all here to listen. I've got all my fingers and toes :crossed: for Dennie. Hopefully they'll get to the bottom of this really soon and she'll be thriving in no time.

Here's a big  for all the sickies out there. Hope you are soon on the mend. The flu can sure be awful. But . . . if I have to make a choice between the flu and childbirth . . . hmmmm.

Bought myself a new scale today. Another digital. It has a bigger platform and I hope that will mean I stand a little stiller on it. I read somewhere that one of the main reasons we don't get consistently accurate results is because we humans are wiggly things. :D So far I got them to agree with each other on a number so that's a good start. Just because I don't particularly like the number  is no reason to blame the scale.

Have a great evening, everybody . . . keep on keeping on :carrot:

AndrewsMum 02-24-2006 06:59 PM

well this is shocking and a first for me, im actually looking forward to mondays weigh in:dizzy:
im feeling like this has been a good week for me and im hoping that for the first time in a few weeks the scales will be movin. got bit stressed out this evening and had a cuppa tea and half a pack of biccies but i dont think that'll undo the whole weeks work (im hoping) now just gotta get thru the weekend and on that scales 1st thing monday, seeing a loss of a pound (or 2:crossed:) will motivate me to work just as hard or maybe even harder next week.

meowee, all that wiggling is burnin cals!! my prob is i dont wiggle enough im a lazy moo lol

Tina u go girl! 25lbs gone forever! :cb: :carrot: :bravo:

Joining in!

Hi all!

I've been reading this thread for a couple of weeks now... you are really a bunch of great gals! I've been on WW for 7 weeks now and am really pleased with my progress. I work full-time and I have a 2 y/o daughter who keeps me really busy.. I don't wanna be the 'fat mom' that I had as a kid. I don't deserve that & my daughter doesn't deserve that.

I've already been reading everyone's posts so often and thought I'd better join in. :) Have a great weekend, everyone! - Tricia

ladylane06 02-24-2006 08:37 PM

Just a quick check in....

Tricia, :welcome3: to the group, so glad you joined us... I'll look forward to getting to know you and reading your posts.

Tina, that has been my thinking. I have been using the hand weights from the start. I started with 2 lb. weights and in the last week have been using 3 lb. weight, and although it may not seem like much, it makes a noticable difference in the workouts... and I have increased intensity as well... so I'm thinking it's increasing muscle and that's why the scale has been slow to move.
Congrats on the :cheer: NSV :cheer: I know it made you feel GREAT when your DH said that :D

btw, I really didn't think about the ticker, but you are right! :dancer:

I gave my eliptical rider a try this evening... I lasted about 5 minutes, but I tell you it had me sweating like I was nearing the end of my 2 mile workout... whew! and according to the the display I had done 217 revolutions and burned 60 calories, sounds like a bit much but I felt like I had burned more. ha ha! Since I only lasted 5 min. I think I'll do my 1 mile before it gets too late. :running:

Hope everyone had a good day!

:grouphug:

teahoney 02-24-2006 08:38 PM

I hope that I can join in on this challenge. My goal for the year is to lose 100 pounds. I made this goal the first day of the year, started off well and fell off. Since I've stopped exercising and eating well, I have noticed a major difference. I want to feel good again and that means taking care of myself.

My official weigh-in will be on Monday and I look forward to losing with you ladies.

ladylane06 02-24-2006 08:47 PM

teahoney, :welcome3: ...and sure, you can join in! It's amazing how eating right and exercising can make you feel better. The ladies here are a great source of motivation and support. I look forward to reading your posts and getting to know you.

mama4dmkd 02-24-2006 08:59 PM

pattybgud and teahoney- :welcome3: to 3fc! This is all the support you could ever want to find!!! These are the best ladies in the whole country and pretty much from all over the country!! I was telling someone the other day that I have friend in the Uk, Canada, Nova Scotia, Michigan, Kansas, North Dakota,
Nashville TN, and Texas! She kinda look at me funny! But, OH well I don't really care if she does think I am talking to my imaginary friends! Anyway welcome!!

Ok gang- Now I am going to tell you'll about Dennie! I call her Doctor about a month ago and told them that she needed to get into see him early because she was not eating right! So they rescheduled the appointment! Well after we drove the Hour to get to the Dr. office they tell us that there has been a mistake and the appointment is not until March 10th! URGH! So we had to turn around and come home! My hubby has had to take off alot for all these appointments (which he doesn't mind) but this was a wasted day!! Ok enough of all that!!

Lois- I think my stomach feels alittle Muscular :strong: (well not Quite so flabby anyway) lol !!!!

Stacye- I was wondering where you ran off too! I am glad you are feeling better!

Cassie- How is the pumping going! You know they told me after I had the girls that you can lose alot of weight when you breastfeed!:goodscale: I was like ok where do you sign me up! LOL

Has anyone heard from Cheryl, Garnetfairy or Rosbia? Rosbia lost all that weight and she has forgot about us! Just kidding!!!!!!!!

Well gals Today is weigh-in day for me! and guess what :goodscale: My weight is 223!!!!
Even if I was BAD tonight! We had Pizza Hut( don't kill me ladies) I didn't eat anything else today so that i could have it and I got thin crust and cheese on mine! It was only 300 calories! See I am trying my best to make myself feel better about eating it!!!! lol Oh well tomorrow is another day!! :grouphug:

Oh I hate to sound stupid but what does NSV mean?

ladylane06 02-24-2006 09:08 PM

Paula, NSV stands for Non Scale Victory... and remember the only stupid question is the one you don't ask!
