Hello Out there! Where is everybody today?

Cheryl120 02-19-2006 10:16 PM

Robsia....WOW!!! 4pounds for the week is awesome.

Lois....I am soooo excited and happy for you to break the 250 mark!:carrot: :carrot: Keep up the good work!!!

Well chicks, it's been a good weekend even though I had a slip yesterday. Forgot I ordered Girl Scout cookies from my niece out in Oregon and the mailman delivered them bright and early yesterday morning. You know, they are just like potatoe chips, you can't just have one. It was more like 10:devil: But, I was back on track this morning, so just a little slip.

I tried a new recipe that my WW leader told us about. Take a cake mix (I used Lemon), 1 1/2 cup diet soda (I used diet sprite). Mix and bake according to pkg directions. Frost with Fat Free Cool Whip. 3 points per slice.

It was very, very good. If you use chocolate cake mix, use diet coke or pepsi.

It has finally started to warm up today. Hopefully no more Artic weather for at least 10 months. Yah, right!!!

Later chicks,

Cheryl

Lois! GREAT JOB on meeting your first goal! I can't wait to meet that same goal, since I was 250 before I had my first child...that seems thin to me now, LOL! Congrats!

I have heard of that diet soda cake somewhere before! I'll have to give it a shot, thanks!

Well, another COLD day here in Kansas! I went out and did my shopping today, and I picked up some more snacks for me. I got some of the 100 calorie packs of cookies, LOL! I have the worst sweet tooth!:o But I figure since I am calorie counting, I can have my sweet food every now and then!

My son woke me up early this morning, and I turned on the TV and seen an infomercial about Tae Bo Elite or Billy Blanks Elite, or something of that nature...it looked like a lot of fun, I used to do some Tae Bo when I was in High School, but I don't think I am in any shape to do it now! Maybe I can work up to it, though. Any of you have it?

My son's birthday is on Tuesday (he will be ONE!!) and my brother will be five on Wednesday, and per his request, we are going to eat at Burger King...this TERRIFIES me! I looked up the menu and nutrition info, and WOW, that food is SO SO SO high in fat/calories! But how can I bring myself to eat a salad while everyone around me is having Whoppers (oh, I LOVE Whoppers!!!)??? What would you ladies do? Forget the diet for the night and feel guilty the second you have the last bite, or have a salad and suffer?:?:

Next Sunday is when we are actually having the parties, and we are going to be grilling chicken and burgers....I know I will go a bit over that day, but for THAT day, I am allowing it...grilled chicken isn't so bad, right? Or a burger?;)

DragonTush 02-20-2006 12:18 AM

Cassie...my son's birthday is on Tuesday too! He will be six. He was born on Alberta's Family day which I thought was so cool starting our family on family day. Every five years his bday will fall on that day.:D

We had my son's kids party today at McDonalds and I totally stuck to my plan much to my surprise. I had the grilled chicken and a side salad with Paul Newmans low fat oriental dressing. It wasn't bad but wish I had known the chicken came with mayo on it. I scraped most of it off but still.. I also did not have any cake. Anyway, we will have my son's official family celebration on the big day.

Oh and I would probably have the whopper minus the mayo and have a side salad instead of fries. That way you can get a burger but not the high fat fries .....go half way. ( I would have answered this up there but I saw when your sons bday was and I stopped reading to tell you my sons bday was that day too :) Sorry lol.

I'd also say grilled chicken is fine for next weekend(even the burger is too lol) just have it on whole wheat buns and add no fat or low fat mayo or no mayo at all .....boy I'm a big help eh?

Anyway, happy birthday to your little boy!

Cassie501107 02-20-2006 12:28 AM

Thank you so much! Happy birthday to your son as well!

That's great that you stuck to your plan at McDonald's! Fast food is my DRUG, LOL! I crave it, and I LOVE it! It's so awful! But I think the grilled chicken and side salad sound like a good idea! I am going to plan my calories for the rest of the day around Burger King, that way I won't go over....even if I do have WAY too much fat, lol. Me and fast food = TROUBLE!

Well, it's COLD, cold, cold, so I am off to snuggle with my son! Night ladies!

mama4dmkd 02-20-2006 02:40 AM

Hey Ladies!

We eat out at least once a week! I looked up a small grilled chicken sandwich at burger king and it was only 160 calories minus mayo and goody stuff! I didn't think that was bad at all! I think I got that calorie count at caloriecounter.com!

I have check in several times today and thought you'll had deserted me! LOL!

I have been soooo lazy this weekend! I have not done any exercises! I have cleaned my house and other stuff around here! But, I still feel so weird not doing my routine! Funny how you get use to something so fast isn't it!

Cheryl- that cake sounds yummy! I think I will try it next week! Now that I am trying to lose weight, I have made a new rule! NO more running to the grocery store! We go once a week! It is to easy to grab junk mid-week! I plan a menu on Friday, and Go to the grocery store on Saturday! I also plan my day off on Friday! SO no one gets confused, the menu is on the fridge!

Everyone else- I am sorry if I am not able to do like some of you! I don't know how you mention all of us! I have tried to use my notebook! It didn't work out well for me! But, I know it make me feel special when you do! It is so bad (like a kid) you run to the mailbox and look for your name! As you can probably tell I don't get out much! LOL!

I know we have at least one Canadian! We were watching the bobsleding and you'll got silver! I think US came in 6th!

I hope we lose 100 lbs between us this next week! We should add it all up to see how much we have lost as a group!

I wish everybody a happy day! :grouphug:

AndrewsMum 02-20-2006 05:39 AM

jelynn 02-20-2006 10:20 AM

LadyLai 02-20-2006 12:02 PM

Happy Monday!

Good morning ladies! How did your weekends go? I had a great weekend. I woke up this morning with another pound dropped. I find it incrediably amusing how your body will all of a sudden begin lose again after a couple of weeks on hanging on, desperately! When you just continue to do the same thing as you were before. I'm taking these scale victories in stride, cause I'm sure I will slow down to a crawl again soon. Yesterday was my day off from excercise. I allowed myself to go a little off of fat grams and calories counts. I had a salad with cheese in it for lunch and lastnight I had steak, a little bit of noodles, and suey choy (hubby cooked, mmmmm). I went a bought some new running shoes and was looking for some new excercise pants, a little motivator "want" ya know! LOL Anyways, hubby picks up this pack of 2 yoga pants, they were all rolled up (costco) so I couldn't hold them out to see if they were close to a fit. But I saw the size sticker, XL 14-16, I was like NO WAY, put em' back. So then he opens them and holds them out, they honestly looked like it might work. I came home and they fit comfortably, mind you, they are excercise pants with plenty of room for stretch, but they still said 14-16!!! Yayyy!

Barb, thanks for the flowers! They are beautiful.

Robsia, you are definitely catching up! Good girl! Congrats on making it to 20lbs. (loss) That's amazing! I'm waiting to reach 30lbs. (loss) before I take another picture for comparison. Then every ten after.

Linda, thanks for the congrats. Trust me it will be a while before you'll have to invest in a magnify glass to see me!

Paula, thanks also for the congrats. Your doing everything right, you're here aren't ya!

Lois, I can't wait to hear what you think of the BL workout! I'm about to go do mine now. Mondays are hubby's half day off, so that means he's home for supper and the evening aswell as my step-son. So needless to say I'm getting it done before anyone gets home!!! hahaha A big congratulations for meeting your first mini goal! You must be so on cloud nine! I'm so happy for you!

cheryl, MMMMmmmm cake sounds good! Have a great day and hide those cookies!

Cassie, I just had my birthday on the 8th. I came here with the same concern. I was wondering if it was worth it and if I were strong enough this early in the game to have an endulgence. Turned out I stuck to my guns realizing this wasn't my last birthday (Lord willing), when I'm at my goal or close to it I think I could handle it better. On that day my husband surprised me with a angel food cake with low-fat frosting. It was a good day! But however you decide to take the day, just remember everyday starts anew!

AndrewsMum, don't fret! Like I said the body will somehow hang on for dear life to those fat cells, and then all of a sudden give up the goods. Hang in there girl, things will start to move again for you!

Emily, congrats on the loss! I'm so happy for you! You go girl, you're doing great!

Well girls I spent a little longer than I anticipated checking in, it's time to go and meet up with BOB!! Wish my muscles good luck!

Later LOSERS! (LOL)

~Tina

meowee 02-20-2006 05:36 PM

Boy have I ever been asleep today . . . both literally and figuratively. Woke up at 4:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. Since then I've had two naps. My day is totally screwed up. I just had some soup (don't know what meal to call it) and discovered I'd neglected to take my morning medications and it was time for the evening ones. Sometimes things just don't seem to be working right.

Anyway sat down to watch an episode of Voyager and it was the one about Seven's lessons in dating and, of course, that made me think of you, Robsia, (the backwards music notes :D ) and then that made me realize I hadn't even said good morning to anybody yet.

Congraats to everybody who has reported a Scale Victory, especially . . . Lois, that is quite a milestone, girl. That is my first goal, too, but it will be quite a while before I get there. But I am determined. I last "broke" 250 about 4 years ago. Unfortunately it was because my BS levels went so high, I started losing weight without even trying and then I started using insulin and it all came back with a vengeance (but at least the diabetes is in better control). . . and, Britchick, who can pat herself on the back with both hands this week. Seven pounds is a fantastic accomplishment. Another one trying to do a disappearing act like Robsia and Tina.

Have to say a special hooray to a few of you for your No Scale Victories, too. Cheryl who put the cookies behind her, Dragon who ate healthy at MacDonalds, Tina of the teeny, weeny pants fame, and Mum who faced her lack of a loss by doing more exercise. Good on all of you, girls.

And just a special little word for Mama. Cleaning is great exercise, girl, and don't you ever forget it. And another for Cassie. Remove those two awful words -- Diet and Cheat -- from your vocabulary. Just keep doing the best you can in any given situation, never beat yourself up if you haven't been "perfect" in your own opinion, and keep on moving forward. You will succeed.

In fact we will all succeed because together we are so much stronger than we are apart. :strong:

:bravo: For all of us. Have a great evening, gang. See you tomorrow. :carrot:

little pony 02-20-2006 05:51 PM

Hello All,
I am brand new to this site, and would love to join you. I too have 100+ lbs to lose. I am 43 and single at 5'40" and 262. I have lost and gained the same pounds over and over my entire life. I know I am an emotional eater and have had huge changes to my life in the past year. I am just started Weight Watchers yet again and am bound and determined to lose it for the last time this year.

One thing that I am on the hunt for is a good weight loss/exercise journal. One that you can write in each day what you ate and also track your excersize and pounds lost. If anyone is using one that they like, I would love to hear about it. Thanks

meowee 02-20-2006 06:18 PM

A great big WELCOME for you, little pony. Glad you've joined us. Personally, I use a little Excel program I wrote myself. Since I'm diabetic, I need to keep track of some very specific things on this journey. I know a lot of people are using "Fitday" and they love it.
