Hey Curly Gurl
Curly Curly Curly Gurl. How are you feeling? Any better?
If I skip Phas I, won't I be missing a detox opportunity and a chance to drop a chunk? Also, since I have your attention. I've got about 34 or 35 pounds to lose to get to my first BIG goal of under 200. What's a good time to set that goal for? The first of the year? My B-day is in October, but I know that's WAY too soon. I'm so math challenged, I have no idea of a time frame on this. I want it realistic and doable, but not too easy. 34 or 35 pounds, you can do it Mary |
I think you probably need to do at least some sort of "induction phase" for a week or two turtle-just my humble opinion. It does help get rid of the carb cravings, the water weight, etc.
|
yeah it probably would be better to do the phase 1 first.... like Petra's says it does away with the cravings..
my bday is oct 14th... ehhhh ive been better turtle.. having a blue mood.. but i am sure it will pass..... eventually! |
Cool
Wow, this is almost like a chat room! Good to hear from you all. My b-day is Oct 16, Curly. I'll be 41.
I was just looking forward to the convenience of the frozen dinners (SB) to take to work. But I'll just have to figure something else. I guess I can rely on eggs and tuna until I figure something out. Cheese sticks, nuts, etc. Just a tad disappointed that the dinners are off limits on Phase I. I've got the list of foods and I printed off a good deal of info from 3FC (AND) I've still got my own South Beach Diet Book to finish reading. Peace to all who roost here. |
Hey Gals,
miss me? I've been totally out of it lately. Sorry I havn't stoped in. I've missed you all. I tried ot catch up on posts. I want in on the Halloween challenge. I lose slowly so I just want to lose 12 pounds by then. I've been keeping up with the excersise, and we have had a substitute pilates teacher and she kicks butt, I wish she was going to stay forever:( I think this week I'll take a paper and write down some of the excersises. This week I did really well, 3.8! I couldn't believe it I never lose more than 1-2. So I'm excited. I just have to keep it up. I am going to my trade show next week so I have to make sure that I stay OP since I am going to miss my WI. Plus eating in Vegas is always hard. talk to you all soon. Jennie |
Turtle - I don't think you can have the pudding until Phase 2. Sorry :( . You can have sugar free jello and I live on no sugar added fudge pops. Also get some natural peanut butter (only peanuts and salt) and some cool whip free. Melt the fudge pop in the micro for 10 seconds and add 2 TBLS of peanut butter and 2 TBLS of cool whip and stir. Yummy!! I tastes like a peanut butter cup.
For lunch and work I usually take a can of green beans and some lunch meat with low fat string cheese. The wedges of lf laughing cow cheese are great in celery for a snack. Also the plain non fat yogurt with cinnamon and 1 packet of splenda was a great option for me. I still eat it. If you can handle V8 that is great with breakfast. Low fat cottage cheese is great for protein. If you can do this for a least a week it will help to get rid of cravings. If you have any questions please ask. Hi to everyone else. |
Hi Again
It's okay Mom, I haven't started yet. I was cleaning out my cabinets in preparation of the diet. I'll probably start Tuesday morning, as I work another detail (Cyprus Hill concert) tomorrow night and plan on stopping at Kroger's on the way home from work. I've got my list started. I've already got some of that natural peanut butter (salt and nuts) and will get as many things on my list as I can afford. I thank you all for the great advice and so truly appreciate any you can give me in the future. I've been reading the SBD forums on all my house work breaks (today and tonight) and feel like I'm getting a little better grasp. The menus help a lot. I'm definitely stuck on what to take to work. There's where I'll need all the suggestions I can get. Is eating eggs more than one meal a day okay? Thanks again.
|
Cottage cheese is a great portable meal if you like it Turtle and I think you can eat eggs more than one meal a day if you want. I don't think there is a restriction on them unless you have high cholesterol. I don't know if you are a salad eater but chopping up veggies and throwing in a grilled chicken breast is also a good option and very portable and doesn't require any real cooking. Tuna is also not a bad choice. I think you have to use low fat mayo on SB though.

Howdy All,
I didn't mean to pooh my loss..I think it was great! As far as dh, I realize his first week and I know he will lose quicker than me. I did get him to walk with me this week and I am hoping M and I can keep him on the bandwagon. He is doing modified WW. He gets more points than me but I don't want to be as strict with him so he won't lose interest. I know this sounds horrible but I would of guessed he weighed more when he started out. I checked the scale twice. LOL The goal weight for men is way to low in my opinion but then again I don't know.(155) So we are striving for a 50lb WL from him right now and consentrating on that. He won't do Richard Simmons with me. LOL Today is a big milestone in our family. My baby is starting kindergarten. We had the teacher visit on Friday. She is so excited I think she had trouble sleeping last night. She crawled into bed with us but I put her back in her room. I love my daughter but I can't sleep in the same bed with her. She is like an ocopus. LOL A king size bed is not big enough for all 3 of us. LOL I took an hour off this morning so I can walk her to her classroom and take pictures. LOL I am so excited for her but not sure I want to do the homework battle and yes she will have homework. I am glad to be back to a little structure in life. Summer is hard. LOL As far as the Not so scary scale challenge... It starts whenever we all want it. Officially I am down to 224 and my goal is 199 so I do have 25lbs. I started the spread sheet and I will update on Sunday night/ Monday morning. Jennie: got you down for the challenge!!! I want to take a pilates class and I bought a ball for home but haven't used it much. My boss is on vacation this week so I might take my weights into work and work out there. I am getting back into a routine this week and WILL go to the gym tonight. Teh 3.8lbs is WONDERFUL!! Keep up the great work! Petra: excellent ideas for portable lunches. I always pack my lunch. Today on my menu is left over bobs. LOL They heat great in the microwave at work and they have lots of veggies in them. We went to the farmers market over the weekend. momx3: You are doing great on SB. Keep up the good work!! Curly: with TOM isn't it normal to gain?? I wouldn't worry about it. Stay on the bandwagon. The week I gained and freaked. LOL I lost my average for both weeks. So next week you probably will have a bigger loss. Turtle: commerical washers and dryers work wonders. LOL Glad you cleaned out the cabinets. I did a short clean in mine and found 3 boxes of brownie mix. LOL I made 2 boxes..we had company yesterday. LOL I can have them on WW...I just have to make sure they are just 1 serving. Well..I need to run and make an omlet for the school girl this morning. I am not sure who is more excited..her or me. LOL Lisa Wyoming |
Good Morning Ladies!!!
Wow...what a busy weekend. That is so nice to see. So today I'm starting day 1 of the challenge, (we are starting today right?) at 229. Ugh...but it is what it is....but not for long!!! I am soooo pumped up and doing really well. Last week with TOM I weighed in at 234.5. Normally I would give in a bit to some of the cravings and extra comfort food, but with a psuedo ww regime and hitting the gym almost everyday.....I THINK I KICKED BUTT!!! :cb: :cb: Lisa.......Good for you for taking the time off to see M off to school. There's only "one first day of K". I still take pics of the boys on their first day, and its Gr2 and Gr7 now!!! congratulations on the weight loss!!! :cp: Jennie......Hi and welcome back!!! Good to see you and with a nice weight loss to boot!!! yeah for you!!! :cp: Hotcup........I would pick up a bottle of Fabreeze. I tried it a few weeks ago, and sprayed my couches down before going to bed and what a big difference it made. I don't have any messes per se, but just an old fabric smell; my sofa set is about 6 years old. Good luck with SBD, eggs can be your friend!!! Curly..........Hope your feeling better today. ;) I hate feeling down, maybe try to pamper yourself with a nice relaxing bubble bath later today. Always works for me!! |
Monday? Oh yeah, Monday
Howdy gals. It's wind down day and gear up night. I'm starting South Beach tomorrow. I've purged and rearranged my cabinets. I made egg noodles, sugar free/fat free pudding and a can of green beans with whole potatoes in them (just to get rid of it). I don't want that stuff in the house once I start. I've been hurrying to finish my South Beach Diet book (up until 0400 reading!) and I've been reading religiously on the forums here, to figure out my menus. It's Kroger's tonight for the food and away we go! I hope you don't mind if I lean on you all a bit. I've set my goal of getting under 200 pounds for January 2006 and it's nearly GO TIME.
Thanks for the cottage cheese tip, Petra. I love it. Cut up veggies sounds great too. But I guess I've still got work to do on these menus before morning. |
GDay Spooktacular Partners !!
So sounds like everyone is geared up for the Halloween challenge !! I started off my day with a walk at 5:30 am with the dog. I am definately a morning person, so thought I would get my exercise in early, as I know once my butt hits the couch after work it ain't moving !! Hotcup ~ sounds like you are ready to hit the beach. Go get em Turtle !! Angel-Eyes ~ onederland here you come. Any rewards for yourself when you get there ? Lisa ~ kindergarten.. how fun !! Hope it went well for M. Petra ~ hope you are doing well. Thanks for all the tips on quick lunch and portables. Mom ~ glad that you survived the birthday party. Sounds like you were busy busy getting ready for it. Jennie ~ good to see you and woooohoooo on your loss this week. Curly ~ hope your monday is going well. Okay gals.. back to work for me. Have a great Monday and TTYS. |
Good to see so many posts. Looks like everyone is into the Halloween challenge. I went to the gym tonight and did my upper body weights and abs and 30 minutes on the treadmill. I just had cottage cheese myself for dinner tonight. I wanted to cook on the grill but it got too late so I'll have to save that for another night.
Hope the first day of Kindergarten was great! TTYS |
lol i left work at 5 pm... went to work out then went back to work at 630 grabbed 3 tomatoes cut them up, with a slice of ff swiss cheese and a slice of turkey breast... then worked till 8.. came home took chai out for a bit..
and will go back in at 630 am tomorrow... need the overtime.. got too much month at the end of my money... |
Woohoo....I also went to the gym and worked out. I did 45 minutes on the dreadmill :tread: and then another 20 minutes or so of the weight machines. The treadmill is becoming my friend now thanks to a little trick I do. After I program all the stats and begin, I cover up all the lights (time, calories, speed etc) and either watch the tv or read magazines. You'd be surprized at how fast your workout goes without watching the numbers!!
Petra.......I love...LOVE cottage cheese. You might find this gross, but I sometimes add a little bit of ketchup to mine OR a teaspoon of strawberry jam. DELISH!!! yum yum!!! Curly.......Good job on squeezing in the workout!! You're going to love that overtime cheque. |
well the electric company will love it anyways.... lol
|
Checking in from work
Howdy all. It's ominously quiet here (at work and having a huge free campus wide concert/party thing going on). I hope I don't jinx myself by saying that. I'm not working alone and it's odd to not have to DO anything. I guess, like my dear late Mama used to say, "I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop." :foot:
angel-eyes: I tried Fabreeze. It's far too gone and stinky for that. Scratch two very heavy, very stinky cushions. Oh well, I tried. :( Lisa WY: I'm sorry about the mix up earlier today. I thought you were a South Beach-er. Now don't go comparing yourself to your husband. Men are evil, I tell ya. ;) They lose so much quicker and so much easier than we do. Don't let it get to you. It's hard. Pooh Bear doesn't even have to try and can drop a chunk of weight like nothing. And also, about those pillows, I'm writing them off. They're far too heavy even for a commercial washer. Old chair, old cushions, kindling for the camp fire, I guess. Thanks for your suggestions though. Patra65: Oh it's NEVER too late to grill. Pooh and I sit by our fire until the wee hours. Last week I used a trout basket and actually fire roasted pan squash (I don't any other name to call those, they're white and shaped super weird) At first I used that fat free butter spray on them, but soon realized they tasted great just fire roasted, dry. It was an experiment that worked well. Yummy. Momx3: Thank you for the lunch tips. I will definitely use them. Well, except for the yogurt one. LOL. I love cans of veggies. I'm actually excited about this diet. :smug: Jennie934: Yes, I sure did miss you while you were gone. I was away too with a brief illness (I'm SUCH a Drama Queen :queen:) No, not really, it was pretty scary, but I'm back too and I'm also glad you're back as well. Curlylocks: You doing okay? I haven't heard from you for a while. I hope you're crampies are history by now. TeaElleBee: Your morning walk sounded great. But unfortunately, due to a mix up with a lite tea mix (I never should have thrown the can away and just kept the little packets OOPS) that's about the time I was finally trying to lay down to sleep! :bomb: Caffeine and I have a rocky friendship. He's very demanding. LOL. Could you or one of the chicks involved, outline this Spooktacular Challenge for me? I'm curious. Of course for me, my goal date is set for Jan 06. But I'm interested in trying as hard as I can (within reason). I'm glad to be back. I'm going to Kroger tonight and I hit the BEACH in the morning. I'm actually excited and feeling pshyched. A turtle on the beach. |
hi Pic chicks!
stoppin by to wish every one a great day! Yes ... I am finally cramp free!!! getting ready for another long long day... ha the scale moved.. but i will offically weigh in next monday... u know i cant pass the scale without gettig on it!!! |
My scale is moving too but I'll wait until next week to give the official results.
Good luck with SB Turtle. A lot of people find it to be a very livable program. Let us know if we can be helpful. I'm not on SB but I'm a low carb diva, LOL. The Halloween challenge is just setting a goal for Halloween. Several of us are close to the 200 mark and have chosen to try to break 200 by Halloween but you could choose whatever amount you think is reasonable for you. I'm off to the nursing home this morning. TTYL |
Good Morning Partners !
Day 2 and I got up and walked the dog again at 5:30 .. yikes I am starting a pattern... but a very good one !! I did fairly well with the food intake yesterday. Brought lots of fruit and veggies to the office, so had stuff to graze on :moo: Well I guess I should scoot, I will talk to you all later tonight !! |
G'mornin'
Good morning Dear PIC Chicks. How goes it with you?
There's a Turtle on the beach! :beach: I've got my first South Beach Diet meal done (2 egg omelet, fresh mushrooms and tomatoes, 2 VERY small slices of Canadian bacon, a generic 6oz V8 and coffee with skim). And now I've got to count nuts! :dizzy: For my snack bags, that is. No nibbling Turtle! :nono: Lunch will be the grilled chicken breast or the tuna salad. I have the meals figured out, just not what order yet. So I need to LET GO OF THE KEYBOARD and remove my AMPLE BUTTUM from my computer chair and get stuff done. Meals, snacks, cleaning, exercise and getting ready for work. I will check in from work. I'm feeling pretty good today. I like that. I hope you're feeling good too. A turtle could get used to this. Sometimes it's good to be alive, even if you ARE a Turtle. |
WOOHOO.....things are going so well today already!!! :cp:
Turtle and TeaElleBee are up and at'em!!! Good job on your walks TLB. Not sure how you do it though at the cracking hour of 5:30 but way to go!!! :dancer: I used to have to have the boys at the bus stop at 6:15 am and then go walking at 6:30. I forced myself to walk as I was already up, but you're making the conscience decision to do it. YEAH FOR YOU!!! :balloons: Bet the dog loves it too!! Good for you turtle.. :cheer: ..isn't it so much better to feel better? I too am noticing a little jaunt in my step. I'm looking at other ways to get my excercise in, in addition to my treadmill stuff at the gym. I hopped on my bike this morning and had a gruelling 30 minute bike ride around my neighbourhood. Who knew I lived on such steep roads....certainly not me!!! :ebike: But I made it and was all hot and sweaty but ohhhh, did it feel good to have the wind blowing at me on all the down slopes. Well its lunchtime now, and I'm having a great soup that I make with cabbage and kielbassa sausage....mmmmm can't wait. :eating2: Then its off to the gym today. Have a great day!!! :cb: |
i need to go grocery shopping sooooo bad, i swear there is not one scrap of food in my house other than @ 5 boiled eggs... lol
I bet i have made the trip to the ladies room at least 7 times today .. i hope thats those xtra pounds from TOM comming off!! oh well a girl can hope anyways! i really need to find that protein powder... and im outta slim mints |
Receipes
hey there..
i have a few receipes i got from my south beach mailing list at yahoo You can make your own yogurt smoothie at home, place it in a bottle and go. 1 cup fat free plain yogurt 1/2 cup skim milk 2 Tbs. Splenda or favorite sweetener to taste 1 tsp. vanilla ice cubes Blend all together, taste, add more sweetener if need it, or add some peanut butter for a nutty taste. SF flavored syrup or SF jello would also make this different flavors! ..................... Oatmeal Squares - Phase 2 *Revised from Betty Crocker's Cookbook* Makes 16 squares 1/2 cup Splenda 1/2 cup sugar-free maple syrup 1 cup margarine or butter 2 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 cups old fashion oatmeal Preheat oven to 400 F. Mix sweeteners with margarine. Add remaining ingredients. Spray an 8x8" baking dish with cooking spray. Press half of the mixture in the baking dish. Spread with filling. Top with remainig crumbly mixture, pressing lightly. Bake until light brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Cut into bars 2x1 1/2", while still warm. Serves 3 dozen Filling: 1/3 cup no sugar added apple sauce. Add 1 Tbs Splenda to apple sauce. Or use sugar-free fruit preserve. Note: You might add some chocolate chips and Splenda on top before baking, or add some peanut butter while still warm for a topping. ....................... Bacon Cheeseburger Quiche - Phase 1 This is one of our favorite recipes! (I found it at lowcarbluxury.com and modified it for SB) 1 lb. very lean hamburger (I use ground turkey) 1 small chopped onion 4 slices crisp-cooked bacon, chopped in bits (I use turkey bacon) 3 eggs 1/2 cup light mayonnaise 1/2 cup fat free half-n-half 8 oz. low-fat shredded Cheddar or Swiss cheese garlic powder to taste (optional) pepper Brown hamburger in skillet with onion. Remove and mix in bowl with bacon pieces, breaking up any larger clumps with a fork or pastry mixer until you have a fine mix. Drain well of any excess grease and press into the bottom of a deep-dish pie pan. Set aside. Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine remaining ingredients in mixer bowl and whip well. Pour mixture over beef "crust" and bake 40-45 minutes until top is browned and "set". Cool 15-20 minutes before slicing. This can be packaged in Ziplocs or plastic containers for meals quickly microwave over the next 3-5 days. (Does not freeze well, though.) ............... Cinnamon Pecan Coffee Cake 1 can great northern beans (drained & rinsed) 2 eggs (or equivalent Egg Beaters) 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 cup Splenda granular 3 1/2 Tbsp. canola oil 1 tsp. Vanilla 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 15 pecan halves crushed Preheat oven to 350. Spray an 8X8 baking dish with canola oil. (I do this in front of my open dishwasher so any overspray gets cleaned up the next time I run the dishwasher.) Combine all ingredients except beans and pecans in a blender and blend until combined. Add beans and blend again. Pour into prepared pan and top with nuts. Bake for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. :) |
Curly-go to GNC for your Protein Powder. They have several brands to choose from. Optimum Nutrition is the one people say tastes best. I just bought a 2 lb canister. It was about $21.00. It also comes in flavors you know.
I made low carb brownies tonight-how's that for a concept. I ran my recipe through FitDay and it looks like 3 Net carbs apiece, not bad. I think the cookbook author used a different protien powder (isopure) so her recipe was even lower in carbs. I haven't tried them yet because they just came out of the oven but they look and smell really good and I tasted the batter and it was pretty good too. Dana Carpender has an entire low carb smoothie book out. About half the book is devoted to yogurt based smoothies and the other half to chocolate flavored ones. It is the best cookbook I ever bought. I make the yogurt ones out of kefir which saves a few carbs and is probably a little better for you. You can also add protein powder to those to boost the nutritional value. |
lol can ya tell i'm about egged out?
i made the oatmeal squares, but i used apricot fruit spread, and added chopped cashews.. they are pretty good |
I tried the low carb brownies. They taste more like chocolate cake than brownies so I'm a little disappointed but they are acceptable. Maybe they would be better with some sort of frosting on them.
|
Turtle's first day on the beach
Well, I stayed under control and ate ONLY from my planned (and packed) menu. I hope it's okay with you all. I'd like to post what I ate.
B- 2 egg omelet, 2 small pieces of Canadian bacon, 6oz V8, coffee with skim S- Part skim mozzarella stick L- Can of tuna, low fat Mayo, 1/2 cup of kidney beans, one red bell pepper S- 30 pistachios D- One grilled boneless/skinless chicken breast and one can of green beans Dessert- That Dream Reese cup thingie (sf fudgsicle, natural p-butter & Cool whip free) This was tricky for me as I felt near out of control (yeah, it's THAT good) so I'm thinking this should be limited to maybe ONCE a week for me. I drank over 113 ounces of water too (How did I do that? ) Good job Turtle. Now do that again for thirteen more days in a row! I hope everyone had a great Tuesday. Those low carb brownies sounded delicious had me dreaming of chocolate. So that cool and creamy Reese cup thing (SB Phase I acceptable) was just what the Turtle needed. Here's to your Wednesday/Hump Day, I salute my sugar free lemon lime Kool-aid in your general direction. How IS everyone? |
way to go turtle... just take it one day at a time..... and those 13 days will zip by!
|
your allowed to have kidney beans on phase 1? wow!
|
Ut oh
Petra, I sure HOPE I can have kidney beans on Phase I. :^: I'm not real confident that I have these RULES figured out, but the Phase I food lists has beans and legumes listed (kidney beans included) and suggests 1/3 - 1/2 cup servings to start.
The very sleeve edge of my new WVU sweatshirt (hanging on my open closet door) was just barely covering my clock and I thought it was 0930 instead of 0830 and popped out of bed like I'd over slept. I hate that feeling. Well, it WAS 0830. And I work afternoons, so I can get up what ever time I want. But I had that rush rush rush feeling. I hate that! Yesterday I ran out of time and had to scoop up my lunch and take it with me because I'd been cleaning, cooking, counting nuts, LOL. I even ended up picking tomatoes while in full uniform. I bet that looked weird to passing motorists. LOL. So, I'll take this extra hour as a hint to get more stuff done today. Here's to a wonderful hump day and a warm hello to all the PIC Chick (DIVAS) I will check in from work. |
GDay Partners !!
Hope everyone's Wednesday is starting off well.... we are half way to the weekend. YEAH !! Day 3 of the challenge and things are going well. Eating has been under control and I have been getting in a walk each morning. :cp: Hotcup - great job on your first day on the beach... sounds like it was a succesful one ! Petra - I am not much of a cake person, so I would have been a bit disappointed too. Curly - thanks for the recipes. I will have to add them into my recipe book. Angel Eyes - from your posts it looks like you got a real spring in your step... good for you !! Thanks for the encouragement on my walking. Getting up early is fairly easy for me, I am definately a morning person. Mom & Lisa - hope all is well with you ! Have a spooktacular Wednesday !! |
Howdy All,
Just a quick note to tell you I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. My boss on vacation and I am working more than week..what is up with that. LOL Went to the dentist this morning again. If it is not broke don't fix it. I am in more pain now that I have been going than the years I have been avoiding. Turtle: great on the water and feeling better too!! TEB: great on the walking. I have been finding it hard to exercise. We are less busier than we were. no swimming but we do have the homework. I have my gym clothes and I am going today!!! Petra: Low carb brownies. hmmmmm. not sure about that. I made real ones over the weekend and only had 1! I was proud. That is what I like about WW..I can eat what I want as long as I account for it. Curly: I like eggs and so does M...she wanted omelets the last 2 morning and today she had pancakes. I asked her if she was important..she said Mom, Mrs. Rice said for us to eat breakfast..it is very important for learning. LOL Angel: M and call it the big hill by our house. IT is very steep but we make it up. LOL sometimes we end up walking the bikes up. Not because I can't ..she can't. I will hate it when winter gets here. I won't be able to ride my bike much. Well folks..I need to get back to work!! Talk to you soon! Lisa Wyoming |
I'm having a really easy day today but I'm sure I'll pay for it tomorrow. Did some of my Internal Medicine Module which was a thrill. (note the sarcasm in my voice).
My friend called to tell me he got tickets for the Eagles game on Friday night and ask me if I wanted to go. How cool is that? I know it is still preseason but I have never been to a live professional football game. I'm pretty excited. I'm also trying to get my dog proof furniture picked out. You can put any fabric on it so I'm having trouble finding something I like and can afford. I think they now know enough about my taste and what I am looking for to send me some samples that are in my price range so hopefully I'll have something picked out soon. I'd like to have a new sofa by Christmas so people can actually sit down in my living room, LOL. Should go to power yoga tonight although I'm really not in the mood for some reason. I'll try to drag myself anyway. Have a good day everyone. |
Hi all.....
Petra.....Poweryoga eh? sounds good. I'm sure you'll feel better once you get there and start the class. Half the battle sometimes is the effort we put in to getting there!! I dragged myself to the gym for a 30 min walk on the treadmill. :tread: It seems 2 days ago, while using some of the weight machines I pulled (stretched) my inside thigh muscle. What a painfull experience. I whince everytime I step. Lisa.......Hope your tooth is feeling better soon. Nothing worse than a sore tooth. I have some really ancient fillings and I'm finding that they are now starting to crack and break off. Not good! I went garage sale-ing this morning and got a fantastic deal. :cp: I picked up this gorgeous 18" large flat link gold chain, (stamped 10kt from Italy) for only $1.00 !!! I almost died. Since I used to work in a jewlery store, this chain would probably sell for close to $400.00 !!! I'm soooo excited. I might even be wearing it right now!!! Afterwards I met hubby for lunch and had a really great tasting ham deli bun from Subway. The lady before me was ordering a huge 12" steak sub with extra cheese and then topped it with 3 kinds of salad dressing!!! I'm sure it was well over 900 calories!!! Anyways, it made me proud of myself that I stuck to my guns and had my 240 calorie deli bun. Oh...yeah....she also had 2 of the macadamia choc chip cookies. Those are definetly a no no. :nono: |
meal planner
i found this meal planner on a site its designed for SB but looks like it will work for whatever plan u are doing
|
SCORE!!!! Angel-eyes SCORES!!!
She shoots... she scores! How cool is that? A $400.00 chain for a buck? Some days you step in it, some days you don't. I'm tickled pink for you. Ever see a pink turtle? ;)
Lisa: Sorry about the dentist dilemma. I hope you get that all sorted out. Petra: Have fun at the Eagles game. I thought you were going to say Eagles concert at first. Gotta jet... pc is shutting down. Dang stupid, work computer! |
Hi Ladies. I took the day off from work again so that I could spend some time with my sis. She is going back to Idaho tomorrow. :( I took my oldest to orientation at her school so she could get her schedule. School starts for dd and ds on Monday. I should be exercising but I am not sure if I want to. The baby is awake and she is going through seperation anxiety so it makes it difficult.
Petra - You will have so much fun at the game. I have never been to a football game but dh and I used to go to see the Sacramento Kings (basketball) alot before the baby was born and it is way different then watching on TV. Hotcup - You are doing very well. Go Turtle Go!!! :cheer: You should also try sliced tomato with cheese sprinkled on top nuked until the cheese melts. Yum!! I also sautee zucchini and mushrooms all the time. Curly - The recipes sound great! I am going to make the oatmeal squares as soon as I get to the store for filling. ;) Lisa - Sorry to hear about your tooth. I hate tooth pain. Angel - Is'nt it funny when we start watching what everyone else eats. Sometimes I want to ask people "Do you know how bad that is for you?" I don't think the would appreciate it though. Tea - I sounds like you are doing great! Keep it up. I have to go watch a movie with my kids. TTYL |
*****OMG****
i just made the yogurt smoothie ... i added some sugar free jello powder for flavor.... IT was HEAVEN!!!!!!! its phase 1 turtle and it was soooooooooooooo good... just like a milkshake!!!!!!!! |
I went to power yoga like a good girl. Power yoga is kind of cross between aerobics and yoga in case you were wondering. I also took the boys for a 30 minute walk today. We are having gorgeous weather this week. Not too hot, not too humid.
One of my favorite smoothies is 1 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tbsp vanilla whey protein powder, 1/2 tsp crystal light lemonade mix. I actually substitute kefir for the yogurt and milk but you get the idea. It is great and has very few carbs and 40 grams of protein. You should try it south beachers. Angel-that is so cool, getting that chain. I have something similar in my house. I bought this piece of furniture at a used furniture store because I thought it was cool for $375. I'm pretty sure it is worth about $5000. It appears to be genuine mission furniture with dovetail joints, solid oak, it is a huge chest, weighs a ton. I didn't know anything about antiques when I bought it though. |
