Good Day Divas:
Sounds like everyone is in the same heatwave. It is so humid outside, it feels like my skin is melting off. I am still hanging in there and staying on my own program, exercising (waiting for my Dance Your Pants Off video in the mail)...not much of an appetite here either because of the heat and humidity. Right now its 87, feels like 92...ugh :flame: I am amazed though, I completely lost my urge to eat chocolate. It almost makes me ill to look at it or smell it or see it :?: I guess that is a good thing, but sooo not like me. Even with TOM didn't want it. Wanted my carrots. I am changing :smug: Thats good!! I did the virtual model, pretty cool. I am losing inches but not pounds (I am trying to have my girlfriend hide the scale so I don't step on there every single day). I lost 2 lbs this week so I've finally made it to 25 lbs. WOOHOO!!!! :dance: It only took me a month longer than I anticipated but I suppose that doesn't really matter.
I have a short day today, I'll be done at 1:00. We have a big music festival in town for the next week so I may spend some time down there this weekend. I have some yard work that needs to be done, dogs that need baths, laundry, etc. I also want to get some exercise in. I've been having some conversations on the Protein power board about body fat, lean body mass and ideal body weights since I had my body fat analysis done the other day. You guys will find this interesting. Those BMI charts are of limited usefulness. I have 40.8 % body fat, which means I have a lean body mass of 128 lbs. (that is what I would weigh if I had 0% body fat) Those BMI charts say that my "ideal body weight" should be between 110-140 which would give me a BMI of 20-25. If I weighed 140 lbs, I would have 10% body fat. Does anyone think that would be healthy?? I would stop having a period!! The ideal body composition is 19-24% body fat for females which means my ideal body weight will be somewhere between 150-160 lbs provided my lean body mass stays constant. At that weight, my BMI will be 26-27.5. Interestingly, I have always known that below 150, I started to look "sickly". Now I know why. |
Hello everyone!! Sorry I have not been around been busy in life between exercise and kids and all the county fairs I have been going non stop!! Tonight we are going to a rodeo!! My son is doing the kids calf roping. So it will be to cute!!
Well I have lost another 3 pds so 55 pds so far!! WOW what a differencr 55 pds makes you feel. I have also lost 2 dress sizes so things are good here!! Hope everyone has a great weekend! |

Another sunny day on the island.. and I think I am ready for the fall. At the weight I am I certainly enjoy the cooler weather. Petra and Sunshine ~ congrats on your losses. Well done !! The relatives fly out tomorrow, so hopefully things will get back to somewhat of a normal state. My eating has been terrible and although the scale isn't necessarily showing it I can feel it.. TGIF everyone. Hope you are having a good day. We are still in the midst of a heatwave. I did make it to the gym. Did 25 minutes on the treadmill and did some lifting. I can tell I'm building some stamina. Also had 2 good protein shakes today. Trying to keep those calories up. TTYL.

Petra - I know what you mean except with me it's the baby. I have talks with her at night to try to talk her into a 7am wake up call but it never quite works out that way. GREAT JOB on the 25 lbs!! I bet you can really tell a difference. :encore: Tea - We will be glad to have you around more. Things have been kinda slow around here. :D Sunshine - Congrats on your 3 lb loss :spin:. Did power yoga class this morning and came home and made myself a yummy breakfast of ricotta pancakes and bacon. Then took a nap. I have some yard work to do and errands to run. Should be a quiet day here today and it seems to not be quite so hot. We've had quite an interesting discussion on the other bulletin board about body types. The reason I have so much lean body mass is apparently because I am what is known as a "mesomorph". These are bodybuilding terms but there is a website where you take a little quiz to find out which body type or combo you are if you are interested-just google the word mesomorph. We can't put websites in posts as you recall. Female mesomorphs are somewhat unusual and now that I know what this is all about, I was paying attention at the gym yesterday. I was there at the after work rush-so there were probably about 100 people in the gym and I only saw one other woman with a similar body type to mine, however, there was another one in my yoga class this morning too. Most people are combinations of the body types.

Just got home from running some errands with hubby. It is pretty warm out today, so have the blinds shut and patio door wide open trying to cool the house down. We are heading out to the airport in about an hour to see the out-laws off. It has been nice having them here, but it will be nice to get back to normal. Mom - congrats on the 3 lbs. Sounds like South Beach is really working for you. Petra - good job on getting to the yoga class... and yes I know what you mean about early rising dogs. My Kobe moves in for the cuddle as soon as he thinks I am awake...although this morning he was nice to me and that wasn't until 8:30. To all the other partners..hope your weekend started well. Wow Everyone is losing so well..... (im stuck)
And I went back on my allese (birth control) Since my missing periods showed back up after losing weight & were due to my weight.. and not menopause! Actually I was one of the odd balls who actually lost weight when taking them.. Momx: u are really rolling arent ya lady! im tellin ya that south beach will melt it off! Cross ur fingers... we are rescheduled for wednesday night!! gonna get that lil black dress out! Got me some high heeled "3 inches" mary janes at target.. I wanted these sexy skinny heeled jobs but .. i can just see me teatering on those skinny heels and SPLAT! err i'm not very coordinated. Am I brain washed or what? went for chinese... got the beef & brocoli ate the brocoli threw the rest out.. tried one bite of rice.. and it was so disgusting... Petra: congrats on ur loss... at target they also had fish oil capsules for a 1$ each so i swallowed a few of those today.. since the only fish i will touch is cod & tuna.. gave chai one also its supposed to be good for the itching. hmm im not sure if i am a meso or an endo Miss turtle: we miss u L2L, Sunshine, Keep up the good work!!! My boys got baths tonight. My Kobe is relaxing at my feet at the moment. They are such creatures of habit. I normally get up at 6:00 for work so they were on the bed pawing at me at 6:05 this morning. Who needs an alarm clock?
I got a yoga mat today. I got one of the bigger ones in case I decide to do pilates at some point in the future. It should be good for that too. Hope everyone is keeping cool. Curly-you are ambitious there, with a goal to lose 10 lbs in a month! |
i was only short by 1 lb last month!! I think 10 is unrealistic.. but i like to see how close i can get !

Hi Everyone,
I'm back!!! I had two great weeks at the shore. We had great weather and lots of fun. My son really loves playing in the water and everyday made new friends. I had to go into NYC twice for meetings but that wasn't to bad. I was crazy active. I was jogging almost every moring. I got up to 24 minutes straight with a five minute walk in between another 24 minutes. I'll have to keep it up. I wasn't really watchin what I ate the whole time. More than I should have but less than I would have. My WI is Sunday so I guess I"ll go and see what the damage is. I didn't have time to read over the post but I'll try and catch up with everyone tomorrow. Jennie |

I was just thinking yesterday that you should be home from your holiday soon. Glad that you had a good time and you are doing great with your running ! Not too much to report for me. I have a birthday party to go to this morning. One of the ladies at work is turning 50 and her kids are throwing a surprise breakfast party for her. Good quality fish oil should be very good for your health. The problem with the capusles is that they tend to go rancid quickly. You should keep them in the refrigerator and not buy them in very large quantities. A lot of people like to buy the Karlson's oil and take it straight. They say it doesn't taste too bad, I've never tried it. I buy the omega 3 eggs and eat ground flax seed sometimes as an alternative.
Welcome back Jennie. Glad you had a good time. I've been up to the usual Sunday stuff as well, church, groceries, getting food ready for the week, dog grooming. I've hardboiled 10 eggs, and grilled some meat for left overs. I bought some coconut oil today--now I just have to figure out what you are supposed to use it in. I know it's supposed to be good for you. There's a big music festival in town this week (Musikfest) and our church "rents" out its parking lot as a fund raiser because we are located within walking distance of all the festivities. I'm on parking lot duty this afternoon for a few hours. It was raining earlier but it appears to have cleared up. I also want to go to the gym today because this will be a busy week for me. Where has Lisa been? |
I think I am going to take the day off from exercise. My body is just getting tired. I can tell when I need a break because I start not wanting to exercise.
Petra - I believe that Lisa is on vacation. I am with Curly and can't decide if I am meso or endo. Jennie - Glad to have you back. Good job running on vacation. Keep it up!! Tea - I hope you had a great time at the birthday breakfast. Curly - I made some great whole wheat muffins yesterday that where really good. If you look for the south beach diet posts they have some good recipes. The one I made yesterday is under phase II breakfast. The baby loves them and has had 3 since I made them yesterday!! There are 7 different ways to make them. I made them with apples and cinnamon because apple is the only fruit I have reintroducted. You should try them. TTYL |
Hi Ladies, thanks for the welcome back. I went to my meeting today just so I would get back inthe swing right away. So many times in the past, I have gone away, gainded a bunch, and was to ashamed to go to my WI so then I would start the gaining cycle. Not this time, I went back, and only gained .6! I'm very happy, it could just be water but honestly, I was enjoying what I was eating while I was away. Still healthy but you know not what the portions I should have had. So the running and extra excersise helped. Honestly, in the past I would gain like 5-10 pounds on a vaca so I am truely happy.
I have a quick question, I take a vitamin, L-Lycine because it keeps me from getting cold sores. I ran out and of course got a cold sore so I went to buy some at target and they had a little book you could look up what vitamins do, it says that L-Lysine turns in to L-Carnantine ( I know I'm spelling them wrong) I think some of you said you take the carnatine one. What are the effects? Just wondering. I looked back over the past few days it looks like people are losing and staying motivated. It also looks like a few people arn't around, are some folks on Vacation or is the summer heat just getting to us? Ok, there is no food in the house and that is a bad thing for me. so I gotta go shopping. TTYL Jennie |
Didn't make it to the gym but I have been a busy low carb cook today. I made coconut custard pie without a crust--although I have alternative crust recipes too, and I made zucchini-feta pancakes for dinner tonight. These were awesome but a lot of work so for those of you who don't like to cook, I don't suggest them. I have another zucchini pancake recipe I'm going to try soon that looks easier so if that's also good, I'll share it. Lots of good looking zucchini in the supermarket right now.

Hi everyone, first day back tracking my points and boy and I hungry!
I tried to look up the website to figure out your body type but all I found was one that says I'm a spoon. :( I found ones with the descriptions but no little quiz to figure it out. I'm interested to find out though, if you have a link could you PM me? got my jog in today. I am going to try and get up early and get it in tomorrow but we'll see how that goes. I have an interview tomorrow for a promotion at work. A postion opened up and I have mixed emotions if I want it or not but I figured I'd at least try it. It to become a coordinator of the studio that I have been in part time for the past 2 years. I love working back there but, I don't know if I want the responsibility of the coordinator. Petra, I used to make zuccini and carrot pancakes all the time when I was younger and a vegatarian. Do you fry yours. I should try to make them again, there are load of zuccs around right now. Tea, how was the B-day breakfast. I love breakfast food so that would be a rough one for me. Mom, I think its good to take breaks from the excersise, give your muscles a chance to rest. sounds like you are doing well. Curly, Java, Lisa, Hi, how's it going. I lost 2 more pounds, and I made the Bronze President's Challenge. Took me 3 months, but I did it! I am sending for the little award stuff, because I think it is an accomplishment. It reminds me to be accountable and responsible for me. I am really pumped now. I LOVE pilates. My mom bought me a yoga mat (because she loves to leave little presents by my door) but the cats think when I roll it out, it is time for them to roll all over it. Some I actually am doing pilates around the 3 furry babies. I thinks its the texture. Enough about me...I am proud of all of you, sounds like you are doing super!! Has anyone heard from Lisa...It's so unlike her not to check in? :?: I get worried. Have a WONDERFUL DAY EVERYONE! Love & Hugs, L2L ;) |

Long day again. Also had a dentist appointment tonight. I'm at that age where my fillings are falling out and have to be replaced. Also not my best food day either. I didn't eat any refined sugar or anything but went over my carbs by a few.
The pie turned out to be more cakey then custardy but it's pretty good. It's from Diana Lee's Low Carb Baking if anyone is interested. Mine seems to have a few less carbs then hers. I think because I used lite coconut. |

How is it going? I had a pretty good day. yesterday I thought I lost it because at the mall I had a chicken and rice dish and it wasn't that good but I ate it and counted the points. It houhgt I would be starving because it wasn't dinner time when I ate it but I basically used up all my points for the day but, there was so much sodium in it and I was so bloated that I didn't even feel hungry at all. thank goodness. l2l, good job on the president challenge. I signed up but havnt put in much. ahhh...my son is bugging me to walk to the park, I'll finish addressing you all later. Jennie |

I am still dealing with my fridge problem. They fixed it last Friday for $200 and Saturday it was not working again. He came back out yesterday and thinks he found the problem and it will only cost $150 more. :rolleyes: What do you think I'm made of money. :nono: Oh well it has to get fixed because we are all tired of getting things out of the fridge in the garage. I went to curves this morning and the lady working there was asking me how much weight I have lost because she says she can really tell a big difference. She is my new best friend. ;) TTYL |

Hi ladies. I've gotten a couple compliments on my weight loss recently too. Yesterday, a secretary who has been out on sick leave for a couple months came back and said "wow" when she saw me. A patient today was also going nuts because she hadn't seen me in about 3 months. I was also wearing a dress I hadn't worn in about 2 years today which showed off my weight loss.
Curly-I make ricotta pancakes almost every weekend with ricotta cheese and almond flour but you can also use oat flour in them. They are quite good. If you don't have Dana Carpender's cookbook, you should think about getting it. She has several pancake recipes in it, as well as low carb recipes for just about everything you can imagine. I got home from work late again tonight because I had an emergency family meeting with one of my patients. What a mess. This family is so incredibly dysfunctional and then they wonder why their 20 year old daughter has problems. Anyway, I went to the gym and got my workout in. TTYL. I"m on call tomorrow. Should be interesting trying to take power yoga with a pager and cell phone. |

well today i work till 12:30 and then i am off until tuesday the 16th... wooo hoo! I am so burned out... i need some time off. Petra i don't know how u do it.. by the end of the day my head is so full of everyones stories.. it feels like my head will explode I answer the main phone line at a medical insurance company.. and people will call to ask about their claims and i swear they end up telling me their medical history.. so a simple question turns into a 10 min call.. and while they are telling me the entire story i have 6 other lines ringing off the hook! Not to mention the ones who call up cussing me.. hello.. Im a secretary.. i do not write the regulations or create your deductible or co pay..... oh geezzzzzzz not to mention that i have reports to do.. letters to type @ 200 a day and work 6 days a week, for really crappy pay.. lmao Shew.. thanks for letting me get that all out... thank goodness i have found my ladies workout express! ( its a curves clone with 24 stations) talk about burning up some stress.. i find by the time i have done the complete circuit my head is empty again lol Lately ive been doing an hour instead of the 30 min.. i'll just do double.. OK tonight is my dinner date.. i am so excited and happy & nervous... havent seen each other since @ jan I am hoping for a good hair day... and a feeling "thin" day since 80% of it is confidence...eeeks have butterflies in my tummy at 730 am and i have till @ 8 pm to go! its gonna be a longgggg day lol |

I am still around and still doing WW. I have been so busy! We had Frontier Days. DIdn't do too well that week because I went to the carnival and rodeo. I gained 1.2 but it could of been worst. This was my first gain in 14 weeks and really hit me hard. I am struggling to get back on track with exercise. There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. DH and M bought me an exercise ball and weights for my bday. I bought M a new bike for my bday. LOL I had to take her to the doctor to get her shots for school and she had a reaction to them and dh had dental work done on Monday and spent 4 hours in the chair so I have been living with grumps the last few days. I am hoping I am back on track. Congrats to all the losers!!! I promise I will keep up better now. Lisa Wyoming |

man where does time go. I can't believe its already wednesday and the day is almost over.... I went and joged in the park today, for about 3 summers, I have tried to jog at this park near us, it is a 2 mile ring, 1/2 in up hill, and the other down and its pretty rough I have never been able to do it. This summer I havn't even tried, I've mostly been inside at the Y but this morning I was like oh, let me go to the park, well, I made it all the way around and then some with out even stoping. Yeah, my new goal is to be able to do a 10K this fall so I think that would be about 2 1/2 times around. We'll see how it goes. Eating been OK, I do great during the day then kind of lose it at dinner. I'm not totally off my points or anything but I should be eating less and I know it. Curly, sounds like you are gettin a much need vacation. Enjoy it. Mom and Petra, don't you love those compliments. I'm losing so fast I kind of feel like no one notices but eventually they will. Tea, hey girl, hope your week is going well. Lisa, get back on that plan fast. A lot of times I let a slipp up be and excuse to fall off. Had a long day but I went to power yoga tonight, and my pager didn't even go off. I called all the ERs first to make sure no one needed anything. It has been a really busy week and it isn't even a full moon. What is going on? I have a few days off next week and I sure am going to need them. |
