the 1st time i started this journey a few yrs ago, at 320 i didnt want anyone to see me walking, so i would go very early in the morning or late in the evening..

just the other day i had a teen age boy make some smart remark when i went by... which i found odd because he was also at least 100 lbs over weight... i guess he was trying to look cool in front of his friends,... i was just like ok whatever...

i guess it just doesnt bother me anymore... i have a mission to complete and no silly lil teenager is gonna get in the way of my getting there lol

Wednesday Morning

Howdy ALL,
Today is a beautiful day! Mallissa spent the night with her best friend last night. They are having a "beach" party at school today. Tomorrow is their picnic with the whole school. My baby is growing up and will be a kindergarten. I probably should of went biking last night but I was so tired from over the weekend. Dh and I went out to dinner last night to celebrate our anniversary early. We will be married 7 years on Sunday. I did ok eating. Had a big salad, a small piece of lean meat, a baked potato, and some veggies. It was good but I felt I ate too much afterwards. Then this morning since I didn't have to get crab head up I probably should of went again but didn't. This week Mallissa has nothing so I need to use it to my advantage and haven't.

Curlylocks: Glad you didn't let some teenager get you down! Great attitude!

Sky: I don't worry about what others say anymore. I do what I want! I have even gone skiing at this size. I wonder sometimes when I go to the pool but don't let it bother me. I am there to enjoy my time with my daughter. Your son is 2, put him in the stroller and walk with him. Mallissa is my motivation and I let her help me by going bike riding, swimming, and walking with her. She loves spending the time with me and we enjoy our time together!!

Jennie: New week, new day, new goal!! Jumping back on the bandwagon is good. Great work on the "dreadmill". LOL

Moonray: Congrats on the loss. Yippeee!!!!

Petra: Welcome back!! I know what you mean about paying the piper when you come back from vacation. I can't go a whole week away from work because of payroll. I am going to SD but we are leaving on a Thursay and coming back on a Wednesday. Dh is on vacation next week, he gets 3 weeks, I only get 1. HE is cleaning out the garage. LOL

momx3: hope the tooth feels better. Lucky you having a very short week. We also have another busy weekend planned. Summer around here has lots to do!!

Deerod: welcome back...you will be back on program before you know it.

Annie:try for a 1-1/2 miles and then build up to 2... or take it by 1/4 of a mile. Glad you got your walk in.

Clipclop: Hope your exams go well. Don't study too hard... you need frequent breaks. LOL

Everyone else: Have a great day!! Drink your water and stay on program!! We are all in this together!

Hi Curlylocks,
First of all i want to say congrats on your weight loss so far! :cheer: Usually the people who have to put people down are people who have low self esteem themselves. I think pointing someone else out takes the focus off them. I try to not let what other people think effect me but it's hard and i am working on that myself. I do realize now that i will never be perfect enough that some idiot won't find some little flaw to point out. You have the right attitude. Keep it up!
I am new to this site. I just started my diet yesterday and am so happy to have found so much support here. I look forward to getting to know you all!

Terri

It's icky and wet outside today where I live :(. I guess there goes my plan for the bike ride. Maybe I'll go walking if it clears up but the biggest problem is I don't have a stroller the one I do have is broke although I do have a wagon that I can strap him into , only problem is he hates being strapped into anything :dizzy: . Hmmmmm ........I'll have to think about this and get back to everyone and tell ya what I did . I might just do exercises in my room.......don't know yet though.

Good Morning/Afternoon !!!

SKYSTHELIMIT ~ today is the big day. Good luck on your journey. You know we are all here to support you !! :goodluck:

TERRI ~ Welcome aboard ! This is a great group of ladies that offer lots of help, support and caring words. You will love it here !!

LISA ~ YAHOO.. another 1.5 lbs kicked to the curb :cp: You need to give yourself a couple of flashy flowers !!

CURLYLOCKS ~ great determination you have.. it is hard to not let the opinions of others affect us.

JENNIE ~ isn't it funny how quickly our body adjusts to the good food that we put in it and then rebels against us when we go back to our "old ways". Now if we could only remember that feeling the next time we go to have something that we really shouldn't. Glad that you are back on track !! Sorry can't help with the Tanita scale problem.. hopefully you get it sorted out.

MOONRAY ~ so proud of you.. great job on your 3 lbs. :bravo:

Skysthelimit 06-01-2005 01:37 PM

I did 20 mins workingout(running in place, pushups, sit-ups etc etc.) in my room after I put my son down for a nap. If it clears up maybe I will go walking later or something.

momX3 06-01-2005 02:15 PM

Hi everyone . Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday. I am not feeling as tired today as yesterday. I am really starting to notice my clothes getting looser :D.

Petra - I hope you have a more relaxing day today then yesterday!! That is a really hard schedule you have going on right now :^:.

Moon - Your doing it girl!!! 3 lbs gone forever :encore:. I am so proud of you!!

Jennie - I hope it's a battery problem with the scale 'cause them suckers are expensive . Let us know.

Sky - good for you on getting a workout in. You tell your stepson that you are trying to get healthy for your son. You don't have to tell him you want to lose weight. Just do it for yourself and your family and don't worry what anyone else thinks :D.

Curlylocks - Love your attitude!!!

Lisa - You can do it. Here I'm giving you some of my strength :wl:. I have enough to share today. I will go home today and do a Richard Simmons tape and you find something you can do. We can do it!!!

Terri - Good luck on your diet. What are you doing? You are right people that don't feel good about themselves make fun of others hoping to make themselves feel better.

Clipclop - Love the new smilies!! I'm glad you are the one doing homework not me . I was never very good at it.

curlylocks 06-01-2005 02:39 PM

hey check this out... today i wore a skirt w/pantyhose to work and when i walk down the hallway... my legs are not making that whoop-whoop sound!!!! how cool is that?

jennie934 06-01-2005 03:29 PM

Hi everyone,
I'm taking a break at work. It is so nice out today. It is finally warming up. I got a little sun this weekend. I know sun is bad for the skin so I ussally use a self tanner and then sunscreen when I am actually out in the sun but I think the golden color makes my skin look so much nicer and smoother.
I went to the gym today on my luch break and did an hour on the ellyptical. Yeah! that thing makes me sweat. I wan to do my pilates tonight at home but we'll see on that one. I weighed at the gym since my scale is on the fritz and it says I am up 2 pounds. :sorry: but my offical WI isn't until Sunday so I am hopeing that I can get it back down and undercontrol. I think I can do it. :crossed:
I forget about the smiles, but I checked them out and saw some of the new ones. My son really likes the one that is on the bike, he will probably like some of the new ones too. He likes to look over my shoulder when I am an the computer.
Ok, gotta get back to the grind.

Don't know if any of you ever read Ralph Marston's website.. but here is his daily motivator for today :)

YOU CAN DO IT

You may not feel like making the effort. But you can do it.
There may be plenty of excuses, plenty of reasons for not taking the time. But you can do it.
It may be uncomfortable, inconvenient and perhaps even a little painful. But you can do it.
You know it needs to be done, and you know that you can do it. You know that once you have it done, you'll be thankful that you took the time.
So go ahead now, get up, step forward, and get moving. The sooner you get started, the sooner you'll have it done.
You can do it, and you know you can. So go ahead and make it happen.

-- Ralph Marston

HELLO...HELLO!!!
I am back from my camping weekend AND have done all 5 loads of laundry!!! Major kudo's for me that the house is even tidy. woohoo.
The weekend was fabulous. We had such a great time camping even though it had been such a long time since I had been. The boys went fishing and minnow catching, lots of bonfires and marshmallow roasting. Dh loved it so much we're thinking about taking another trip for our holidays. WE'll see....

A big shout out to the 2 newbies who have joined us. Hope you post often.
Okay all you losers.....and tanita scale owners.....WAY TO GO!!! :bravo:
Petra.....Look at you holding a baby gator!! And all your fingers too!!

Good to be back and back OP.

Good evening ladies. My day went better today. I got Kobe to go off the property on a walk with me and Buddy. He was a little hesitant when we got to the property line but once he saw Buddy got across without incident, he was okay. We had a good time. I also tried on a pair of pants I haven't been able to wear for awhile and I can get them on. They are a little snug so I don't think I'll be wearing them to work just yet but very soon.

Welcome to Teri. Look forward to getting to know you better.

Angel--glad you had a good trip. I am going camping at the end of the month but mine is a little different. I'm going to a Christian music festival where you camp out with about 10,000 people but I still have to take all the equipment. However, if I like it enough, I figure I can go do the wilderness thing now that I have all the gear--and maybe even be able to take my boys.

Talk to you guys later. I haven't learned how to use those smiley things yet.

Good evening you loverly ladies :)

I had a pretty good day overall. I took my son out to Red Lobster tonight for din-din. I choose the grilled salmon, baked potato, and veggies. I had to scoop the butter off my potato and it still left a puddle on my plate. :yikes: I have learned a great lesson to just ask for no butter.

I calculated my calories, and I'm at 1452 right now, which leaves me no snack for tonight. Oh well. I have been getting up early everyday and been doing the WATP DVD, but this is getting boring. So last night, I checked out some different ones on Amazon and ended up ordering 3 new DVD's. Hope I like them.

Curlylocks- :bravo: on not giving a hoot what anyone else thinks. Because of my low self-esteem, I do take things to heart, which I know is bad. :(

Moonray- Congrats on the 3lb loss! Every little bit helps. Before we ALL know it, we'll be at goal weight! :dancer:

Jennie- Not sure what to say about the Tanita. I've only had mine for just over a week. Try changing the battery and see if that helps. (The raisin bran was good.) :p

Sky- I work out early in the morning before anyone gets up. I have thought about joining a gym, but knew it'd be a waste of money. I'm just not ready to exercise in front of anyone quite yet. Get an exercise DVD. They really get you pumped up. :dancer:

Lisa- I also feel VERY full after eating at Red Lobster tonight. I thought I'd hop on the bike for a few after posting here.

TerriNY- Welcome! I'm pretty new here myself, but make it a priority to visit here at least once daily. They are very supportive gals and you'll find they are addicting. :D

ClipClop- Hiya! That motivator is right on the MONEY! Sorry if I missed this before, but what are you studying in school?

Angel-eyes- Glad you had a great time camping. When I was a kid, I'd go al the time with my grandparents. Those are some really great memories. Wish I had the time to sometime with my own kids.

Petra- I have no idea how you doctors do it sometimes. Ummm, you are an MD, right? Or did I dream about that post? :o The MD I work for, well, we want to clone him. LOL He's soooooo busy, and it's only him in his practice. I have no idea how he does it.

Well, I'm off to hit the stationary bike to work off that buttery puddle. :p See ya'll later. :grouphug:

I'm back. I wanted to let Looking2Lose and Lisa know that there is actually a PCOS board on this site. I don't know if they were aware of that. I think it is listed under dieting with obstacles or something like that. I was just there because I saw someone asking a question about metformin and thought I might be able to answer it. Unfortunately, she didn't provide much info. However, it looks like a lot of the women on that site have taken it so they can probably answer the question as well as I can, LOL.

Good evening everyone!! I missed one day and it took me forever to read all of your posts and catch up.

My DD had a dance recital rehersal last night that lasted forever. They are having a huge recital next Tuesday called the "Twisted Oz". This is like a musical...when I was little and had recitals we just went on stage did our little dance and then the curtain closed and the next group got on stage...not like that anymore!!! I'm glad they only do this every other year! So it was late when we got home and I didn't have a chance to get on the computer last night.

Today was the first day of summer school at work and it was crazy!! We have 2 other school that are also having summer school on our campus to save money so that made it even more hectic. Hopefully tomorrow will go better since most of the kinks should have been worked out today. I'm glad I only have a week and a half left before I go on vacation. I'm ready...it has been a very long year.

I did okay on food the past 2 days, but the exercise is still not happening like I want it to. I'm just too tired by the time I rush from work and pick up the kids and then run them to where ever they have to go...we don't get home until 8:00 on a good day!!! That makes for a very long day. Hopefully things will settle down as their activities wind down. They won't be doing alot of extra stuff this summer since we will be gone for 3 weeks.

Well I would love to reply to all the posts.....but just to many!! I will do better about checking in tomorrow so I won't have so much catching up to do!!
