Hi everyone,
How are things going? I'm at work, taking a break from my dreaded Power Point I have to make. We do this thing called a year in review and I have to hunt for documentation of the projects I have worked on with my students since September. It is not an easy task. Next year, I'll do it as I go....

Anyway, I did OK yesterday with food. I also jogged some on the treadmill. I am trying to do the couch to 5k plan that a lot of people in the excersise thread talk about. The only difference is since I have been doing cardio already for a while, I am makng it longer. My goal is to be able to jog the whole time and I just wasn't getting there so hopefully the plan will work out. so far I am on week 2 I do 90 seconds jogging, 90 seconds walking. for 45 minutes. The plan says it should take about 2 months to get up to straight jogging. I'm still in the gym on the dreadmill, I havn't ventured outdoors with this plan yet. I'm in Pittsburgh and you can't get any where with out going up a HUGE hill! makes jogging a lot harder.

ClipClop, I think we should try and get Dee back. I miss her to she always had so many good things to say for all of us.

Petra, I don't know if I could stick to those carbs. I might need to try though if I can't get the scale moving the right way!

Sky- keep up the walking. I hate the dogs too. I always feel like they are going to jump the fence or something crazy.

Hotcup- ihope you are feeling better did you make it in for the WI. some times I can't make it and other times I wish I hadn't:?:

Looking- I can't believe the pounds we've lost. We should go on a TV show or somthing. Have fun aquasizing!

Annie, goog job yesterday and its good that you are starting to think about the weekend, start to you plan of defense. I have such a hard time at those types of events.

Mom- I hope your knee is feeling better soon. I hurt my left knee about 2 winters ago teaching some one to snowboard. It had me out of commisision for quite a while. You ussually don't hurt your knees snowboarding so it was kind of weird accident but I am always so nervous that I will hurt it again and this time it will really be bad.

curly- I have been takeing the weight smart for a while, I don't know if they are any different than regular. some one said they have caffeine in them. not sure though.

Ok, I know I missed a lot of people, there are so many of us and we are so good about posting, maybe we could make a roll call kind of list.

Keep up the good work. I'm gonna get back to work so I can hit the gym at lunch.

Monday... for Turtle

Yes, I do feel better. Thank you for asking me. I worked out with my crazy sister today (you know .... "The Exercise ****"!) We did the 2 mile WATP and then our "Lumps" circuit for an hour. It was lots of fun. I can't believe I was up by 0530 today. I may have to sneak in a nap before work. I found out last night that I'm working alone all week, so I can be on line and address all of you individually (I've been wanting to do that for a while, feel like I've been neglecting you all). And since I'll be working out at the office gym tonight (yes, twice in one day) I probably won't feel the need to do as many "Caged Turtle Circles" and can spend more time on line.

Only a four day work week (starting in a few hours) and the it's GIRL TRIP TO THE BEACH.... :beach: :beach: :beach: LOOK OUT OCEAN CITY MARYLAND!!

Talk to you all soon (from the ole salt mine).

Wow, I feel good today :hyper: :bike: . This feeling good thing is so foreign to me. Almost makes me feel something bad is about to happen.

I have don't much time to post right now, but just wanted to say that I got my new exercise DVD's yesterday and tried one out this morning. It was Leslie Sanstone's "Walk and Kick." Holy moly. That's a very good exercise routine, which includes interval training with walking and short segments of kickboxing. I was energized after doing that.

I will attempt to address everyone later at home.

Hope you all have a super day.

I woke up with a bad sinus headache today, I just can't seem to get rid of it either.
Yesterday after I got back from walking maybe an hour or so after my allergies finally got the best of me and my headache started. I took sinus pills (which make me sleepy but they are the only thing that works, I have tried it all), well that worked it went away but the next morning my headache is back but worse. This always happens to me when I'm outside.
Does this ever happen to anyone who has allergies?
It really stinks too because I don't mind walking but I do mind getting headaches.
I still have to go out after lunch today and walk but my headache won't go away. The problem is if I take my sinus pills I won't feel like doing anything at all, I'll be tired .

Sky-

I work as an RN for an ENT who specializes in sinus infections. If this is a chronic thing, I would think about seeing a specialist. There may be something anatomical causing the headaches.

Hope you feel better. :)

O.K. Ladies we must have been connected somehow in another life. I was just thinking last night that we have to get Dee back. I'm worried that she has lost her footing and fallen off the cliff. I say we all send her a pm and see if we can get a response. Maybe if she gets them from enough of us she will get the picture that we want her back :D. So everyone send Dee a private message about how much we miss her. Let's let her know we won't give up on her she is to much a part of us.

Skysthelimit 06-07-2005 04:49 PM

Annie~I did go to one when I was in High School but since I got married our insurance doesn't cover it so I can't.

Howdy Howdy One and all

I'm being held captive at work, yet again. I can't believe they MAKE me come back like EVERY DAY! What's up with that? I had a very good morning of exercise and wise food choices and oops, getting up right now to get my #2 Water bottle from the mini fridge... BRB ... Okay... even pottied while up. Aren't ya glad I shared that? Power went off here, spooky and then MULTIPLE alarms everywhere! Ugh...

*Skysthelimit* Hope those sinus's clear up. I've only had that happen once and THAT was ENOUGH. Take care. I've heard that lots of water is a great way to combat those problems. But you're already doing that, no?

*MomX3* Take care of that sore knee. And thank you for the information on Dee... I feel stupid that I didn't realize which PIC chick she was. I sent her a PM and so hope to hear from her soon.

*AnnieRN* I recently bought Leslie's Walk & Jog. It nearly kills me! Ouch! I hope you enjoy that work out :jig:

*Jennie934* Wow! Jogging? *Blink* *Blink* I've heard about that couch to 5k thing and thought about trying it, but I uhhh don't have a couch. ;) Just teasing you, but I seriously don't have a couch! :joker:

*ClipClop* I'd be giddy with delight if my number was only .01. I gained nearly five pounds :sp: And with Uncle TOM & Aunt Flo, you're doing very well to keep it to that.

*Petra* I think all of our storms were separate, but yours started first. Our TV was blinking with warnings up your way, all morning. But when it hit... it was NASTY. I was thinking of taking my turtle butt to the basement :bb: Storms scare me. Even if I am 40.

*Looking2lose* How YOU doin? Awesome job on fighting off those killer funnel cakes. No way I could have kept it to only one. Great job! :cp:

*Curlylocks* I hope you enjoy that "Curves-like" program. Sounds like fun. Let us know. Good luck to you gal.

*~~Sunshine~~* Congratulations on #1 baby prize. Awesome. And how proud you must be of DS in the parade. Don't cha just luv Summer? :cloud9:

*Angeleyes* Sorry about the attack of the boredom munchie attacks. I, unfortunately, know that affliction all too well. I hope you fought your way out of it and you're having a great evening.

MoonRay, Lisa WY...? Did I miss anyone else? Oh yes.... Deerod! Come back gal! Miss you much.

Have a great evening all. Light and right choices... drink that water!
:rain:

I leave for the beach on Sunday :beach:

petra65 06-07-2005 06:53 PM

Good evening PIC Chicks. I sent dee a PM too. Hopefully we can get her attention.

We had some killer thunderstorms last night. I had to medicate poor Buddy. He's terrified of thunderstorms. He was still a little out of it this morning. Didn't seem to cool us down though, we went from 70's to 90's practically overnight. Crazy weather. Had to turn the ac on for the poor boys. They really suffer with the heat.

Sky-you should definately go see some medical professional about those headaches even if you can't see a specialist. Your primary doc may be able to look into them for you. They sound miserable.

Java-glad you are feeling better. Wish I was going to the beach. I love the beach.

Annie: Glad you are enjoying your exercise videos. I never could get into those.

Where's Lisa? We haven't heard from her for a couple days either which isn't like her.

Well I just got back from curves. Man that felt good ;). I'm not quite sure how I was living without getting some exercise in. I really wanted to come back and walk the baby in the new stroller but I don't want to do to much with the knee still hurting :( . I'm taking the rest of the week off from work 'cause my oldest dd has a funky school schedule the next two days and it takes me 30 to 45 minutes to get to and from work. Bet you all wish you had my work schedule huh???

Clipclop - Next week you are going to be a big loser. Just get rid of TOM ;) You are working so hard at school bet you can't wait for a break :dizzy:.

Jennie - Excellent job on the exercise. You will be running before you know it :tread:. I know it seems to be getting easier for me. Last time I did the treadmill I jogged for 25 minutes straight. Very slow jog or I will give myself two black eyes  but a jog all the same. When I first started I had a hard time even walking very fast.

Hotcup - I am so jealous about the :beach:. You are going to have a blast!!
I know what you mean about feeling good. Sometimes I can't sit still which is very strange so I just let it out of my mouth :blah: :blah: :blah: which drives my poor dh . He is much quieter than me.

Annie - I just ordered some WATP tapes. I hope I like them as much as you do. If I like the ones I'm getting I will get more.

Sky - I hope you are feeling better :flow2:.

Petra - we used to have to medicate our dogs on the 4th of July. They would literally tear down the fence if we did'nt. I hope poor Buddy is feeling better today.

I really hope we can get Dee to come talk to us. She must be having a really rough time right now.

MoonRay 06-07-2005 08:57 PM

Hello PIC Chicks :D

Just checking in, you miss a day or two and man you miss a lot :) took me a while to go through all the posts.

I have good news, I lost 3 lbs!!! :D

ClipClop- so to answer your question, I was doing good at staying away but I couldn't see my weight in that scale before, now I can so I hope I can still stay away.

Good Job!! to all who have lost poundage, have exercised, and / or have stuck to your plan!

Momx3- hope your knee feels better soon

Skysthelimit- Hope you feel better soon also :( those sinus head aches can be really tough.

Hotcupojava- hope you remember your sunblock ;) but have a nice time.

Well I hope everyone is doing well :D

Hi Ladies,
I did the ellyptical at the gym today and boy is my booty sore. I have been doing other stuff, dreadmill, step aerobics ect... for the past week or so and it was my first time back on that thing. It really tightens up the buns. Plus I did some wieghts on my arms. Any one have any good arm routines, I ussually just use the hand weights, no machines but i'm never sure if I'm doing anything worth while.
I did well with my food today! yeah! I put my scale inmy closet. I am totally addicted to it, I weigh in the morning, at night, basically any time I am in the bathroom its crazy. I keep getting mad because its not moving down. so I have put it away.
I'll check in tomorrow. Have a good evening.

It's Me!!

Howdy All,
I didn't fall off the face of the earth...although after this morning..I probably would have. I hate cell phone companies. I would love to have a cell phone company that doesn't overcharge you and would actually get your bill right! After on the phone for an hour today..I got it figured out.

Have been busy the last few days at work...started a post today but didn't get it finished. LOL Malissa started swim lessons and I even got Dave to go to the Y with us. He loved the hot tub, sauna, and even got in the pool for a while.

Deerod: Where are you girl???? Looking around..Don't see you!! We are sending out a search party to find you! We will hunt you down! Post very soon!

Don't have time to address everyone tonight...I am beat! Worked out at the Y for an hour tonight plus did open swim. I will try to catch up tomorrow...hopefully a lighter day at work.
